Justice is directly tied to morality, and morality can only be (properly) grounded in religion. You cannot separate religion and state in that way. I emphasize the latter phrase because, in the interests of preserving freedom of religion, it's important that we do our best to separate them, but it's equally important to realize that it is impossible to completely separate them. Islamic Shariah Law, for example, conflicts with American law on religious grounds, and there's no way in heck to make the two legal systems agree without messing around in religion.
Allow me to hit my point home:
Why do you want your character to kill Gwen? If killing is always wrong, then why is it right for your character to kill her?

People don't change easily, but they can, and that is apart of being human, we can forgive others for their sins and the wrongs they done, the scars may not be erased, but it will always heal, maybe it is time we forget about our differences and live in this world treating others as out equal. Where every lives are worth cherished and protected. A true heaven, an outter heaven.
Forgiveness and justice are not enemies. God can forgive sinners because someone else satisfied justice, namely Christ. We can forgive people because God first forgave us.
But not all men are created equal, I'm afraid. That's not a biblical doctrine.
You keep talking about "right," "wrong," and "morals." Where do you get these ideas? On what grounds do you hold onto these ideas? According to the tenets of atheism, morality is relative (namely, the interests of the stronger, the interests of the weaker, etc.)

Affraiel never justified his killing like Gwen did, he knows that violence breeds more voilence, but at the end, he knows it has to be this way. Gwen cuts her own path and Affraiel followed his wrath. Maybe they were both the same, just doing what their heart told that was right. I never said killing is wrong, it is the justification of killing that is wrong.
And also, HOW DARE you say that religion told people what is right or wrong? Explain to me the salem Witchhunt, the crusade to jeuresalem five times, religion seems to be the major course of death in the past few thousand years. Salem Witchhunts were wrong by Biblical standards. Scripture demands that execution for murder only occur on the (verified) testimony of two or more witnesses. That didn't happen here.

You are, in short, judging me (and religiously-profiling me) based on religion. It's no better than judging based on skin color or national origin (or racial profiling). All religions are incredibly different from each other, and individuals are even more different from each other. No two people share exactly the same faith or religion, and the differences are absolutely critical. "Religion" never killed anybody. If nobody believes it, then "religion" can't do squat. People kill people. Religion is just the way they choose to think about it.
Individual beliefs make all the difference. Do you know what caused the Crusades? The Roman Catholic Church taught that people could get time off Purgatory by visiting holy sites, which the Muslims were blocking at the time. The Crusades were fought to free up those sites again.

The only thing that annoys me more than personal attacks is people who make light of these debates.
