So seeing as we're in the early stages, it might take a while to sort everything out to the point it runs smoothly, and the thread has started to seem a little jumbled. So anything that needs serious OOC discussion, for e.g Snakey's question on Cerick being able to use dark magic or illusions, would come here. App forms may be placed here, but I prefer them in the RP to be honest.

As I sit here at the kitchen table thinking about why some players decided to forego joining Forsaken World, I considered their reasons. Lack of time was the most prominent one. And then I thought about my own reasons, reasons why I wouldn't want too many players joining. Things tend to get really messy when you have more than, say, 4 players or so in the game.

So here's my idea, you might wanna tell me if this is being done already lol.

Cradle had fallen victim to The Swarm, but the knights found that, aside from the power boosts in monsters, it really did nothing else. Knights weren't corrupted, Cradle didn't fall into anarchy, all the monsters weren't even corrupted. For the better part of a year ((9 months)), Intel knights, Recon knights, all the way up to Captain Ozlo himself puzzled over why this had happened. But something else major, something else threatening occurred and demanded the Spiral Order's attention.

After going on yet another Tv Tropes walk, I got the feeling to add a little "this and that" to the Spiral Knights story. This may last long or it may be short, but here is how it will work:

1. There will be 5 segments to each chapter.

2. There will be virtually no continuity whatsoever.

3. There will be a few recurring characters who do not have any continuity.

4. Each segment will be very short.

Part 1A: Planning the Skylark's Flight

A new age has risen on Cradle. The Spiral Order is dying out, replaced by many smaller splinter groups, seeking dominance of the planet. All of these groups have their determined forces and soldiers, but sometimes, they need specialists. Mercenaries are many in number, skilled fighters who have no set allegiances and fight for coin and food. Some work alone, other band together and work on jobs as a team or partnership. And you're one of them.

50 years have passed since the Skylark crashed into Cradle. And throughout the decades, the knights of the Spiral Order have fought a ceaseless war against the planet's inhabitants. At some point in time though, the Knights had run into an absolute stalemate against their foes, the Crimson Order and the Clockwork's denizens.

As such, the Spiral Order has devised a project to break the stalemate. A morally questionable project, also known as,

"The Rise Soldiers"

A project designed to breed artificial 'Knights' designed to succeed where the older generations failed.
