It'd be lovely to see this game some day be ported to a more stable platform like Vulkan api, Unity or OpenGL at least, It'd probably bring nice performance, (my beefy pc has under 60fps on all high settings.. what happened.?) and stability overall. :shrugs:
Anyways. That's my rant.

Change for status effects

Hello all. I hope you are doing well.

I've been playing Spiral Knights on and off for about 6-7 years (started when Crystal Energy and Mist Energy still existed) and I just recently have been in a spur where I've come back to the game. In order to get my guild out of default I was running FSC for some crowns and I found myself getting annoyed at getting constantly set on fire and losing oh-so-many bars, and I finally realized why I hate the status effects so much: there isn't much you can do to combat status effects besides not getting hit.

Need Training Hall for Lockdown players (PVP)

A place where lockdown players can practice and spar with each other and where they can kill time if there's no LD match going on or if they got bored of repetitive PVEs.

There are stations that teaches the features of LD(classes/rules/etc.) to new players.

More Shard Bomb Status Variants

So I've been using shard bombs and chaining them together I must say is quite fun. Of course, the elemental and normal shards don't have status variants, so I was discussing with some other players and we came up with an elemental/freeze shards and a normal/poison shards. Freeze and poison both compliment the playstyle of shard bombs, as they are focused on chaining enemies into explosion after explosion after explosion. Freeze keeps enemies in place, making the next explosion easy to line up, and poison makes subsequent hits stronger.

Shard bomb fix for the ages I kid you not it would be spectacular

So here's the deal. When knockers, the smallest gremlins, hit their little wands together it causes an elemental explosion. The wands are color coordinated to the mineral scheme to build gates; the ice knocker for instance has blue and green on his wands, because that creates ice. The fire has red and yellow, for fire, and so on.

Exploding two shard bombs in an overlapping area should generate the corresponding explosion.

I got to thinking how minerals could be used other than sprite food and then I remembered how certain mineral combinations would make different gates have a certain type of monster, I propose we be able to craft an usable item that summons a monster, but to summon a monster you will need 2 things

Hey guys!

I just got back from a 3-month hiatus playing other games (chilling out here making a new SK character, quite fun actually). From these games, I got some pretty good ideas relating to this game and how it can be made better through small updates, as well as some bigger ones.

Is it possible for SK to have offline mode? Atleast for the missions and arcade only?
Not all ppls have good internet for SK. I play from PH and tbh connection speed here is one of the worst globally (playing with unstable 0.3-0.8 mbps here) . Playing with unstable 300+ latency is already a pain for me, but this problem is worse... extremely worse to the point SK is barely playable for me.

These are my problems:

1.) Packet loss (mostly temporary but sometimes it's permanent).

Changes to difficulty settings to make them actually matter

It's no secret that the difficulty settings in Spiral Knights don't really do much in the way of difficulty. This is mainly because it's just giving monsters more health and giving you more rewards on all fronts. The issue here is that, while it makes it less punishing on new players, the game is basically just 1-2 extra hits for veterans who play on elite, so the difficulty setting is basically just barring faster progress from lower tiered knights while letting veterans get everything faster.

Allow knights to throw bombs like gremlin demos

Bombs currently don't have a normal attack and rely on charge attacks to deal damage. Let's change that!

Allow mini versions of a five star bomb to be thrown when the attack button is tapped twice in a row. If the attack is only tapped once and held, the bomb is charged randomly. If it is tapped twice before the charge bar appears, the knight will throw a smaller bomb with half the radius a few tiles ahead. The fuse time will be exactly identical to a normal charge attack, however the bomb will do less damage on detonation and will have a smaller knock-back if applicable.
