Ladies and gents, please take a moment to read the updated forum guidelines here. Though there's nothing outrageously different, some clarifications have been made. Translations for the French, German, and Spanish forums will be forthcoming.
Updated Forum Guidelines
>>Be excellent to each other.
Three Rings confirmed for bro-tier.
Jooozek: Yes, it does. It's ridiculous that 80% of the posts in there are comprised solely of the word "bump." I'm going to let slide all of the bump posts made prior to my posting an announcement in that section, though. ;)
Placing restrictions on the use of quote pyramids and signatures... I lol'd. Maybe add something about lewd avatars and spamming PMs? That would make my day :)
Be polite.
Be efficient.
Be excellent to everyone you meet.

I know, I almost thought those two items weren't even worth mentioning! But people are creative and industrious, so...
Is Bromance considered being nice or is it considered to be way too nice which may lead to discomfort?
Also, like the additions of the Do not do this and do this heading it looks very attractive =0
Add something in the explotis/spoilers sentence about info obtained from the game files, since the devs don't like it being thrown around the forums.
Make sticky or add to the announcements forums, otherwise this will probably get forced back to page 2 or 3 in 2 days time.

hmm, so people can't bump relevant topics like "Chocobo's Guide to being self sufficient in a week". It's old but it tends to hold true. I'm not saying post bump bump bump all the time but giving it a rise from time to time seems fair especially since there haven't been many alternatives to that topic.
I don't do repeated bumps though, usually if I have a topic and no one responds after my post, I use the edit button and add the word bump to it (I do that for the friend recruitment thread) so it can also be pushed up. Is that a problem too?
@Pupu: That's covered under "spoilers" and "other sensitive information about the game," yes? Or do you think it should be specifically addressed?
@Gwenyvier: The forum guidelines are stickied at the top of every forum section. I'll post to the announcement forum after this post floats to the next page, but the posts there are locked and don't allow for discussion like this thread does.
@NegimaSonic: If there's a thread that's *that* good, maybe we should sticky it instead of bumping. Linky, please, so I can look it over?
How to become self-sustaining in less than a week.

It's created near the beginning of the game's release which is unfortunate as it is missing out on a lot of new content, but I think its still a good word for word startup guide. The datedness is probably the only reason why I think it shouldn't get a sticky. I expect someone to eventually write a better one. Some people have done videos...but not everyone likes videos for bandwidth reasons or whatever.
Oh and for selfish purposes The Friend Recruitment Thread

ONLY so you can review how I bump (it probably doesn't show you multiple edits to the same post. I dunno). But most of my bumps are never "officially" back to back without at least another player weighing in on the content.
Also sticky the Official PvP Suggestions thread please.
Lonely snipes need herding.
@NegimaSonic: Seems to me we could use a stickied post/thread in the New Recruits section with a collection of useful links, and both of those could be included. Also, I don't see a problem with posting in a thread to let others know you've updated the OP or your post further back. That's valid information, not "lol up we go" noise.
Ah ok. I was passively saving links for different things sometimes but I didn't have enough information to make a decent topic and some of these are opinionated links. I hadn't sorted which is the best of the best and I know I missed some good topics, but this is stuff I've kept so far.
Status effects(specifically this post I thought was a good pros and cons post of every status effect):

New Player Crafting Service(pretty much dead, but I saved the link just in case):
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/2959
Crystal Energy (extremely wordy, but I think it serves its purpose. The wiki is also good for this though)
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/4620
Bomber Megathread(now has a decent home in the Arsenal so it's not "lost" anymore):
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/4347
Little Secrets (because Nick doesn't like this topic :D)
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/5399
What would you ask the developers if you have a chance? (kind of useless now since the Ask Eurydice is now an option :D but I thought it was still fun that several devs posted in it)

Advanced techniques (Advanced training Hall covered some of these techniques, but not all)

How to become self-sustaining in less than a week. (the topic I posted earlier)

Good ways to earn money (Crowns) - Energy prices have increased, but the strategies here are still valid.

>That's covered under "spoilers" and "other sensitive information about the game," yes? Or do you think it should be specifically addressed?
I think it should be addressed specifically, to avoid confusion.
I mean, what are exactly spoilers and sensitive information in a MMO?
It's kind of vague.
Also I would like a sticky in general discussion with various memorable and interesting threads. Mostly the comics/fanart ones, and some of the unusually fun ones like the Artefacts of Cradel one.
I think the concept of unreleased/unpublished information that you may somehow stumble across is implied in spoilers.
More useful stickies would be great. Especially one that says to check the wiki before asking a question, it might just have an answer.
@pupu and @dogr0ck: I'm going to leave the language on spoilers as-is for now. If I see frequent, genuine confusion along the lines of, "I don't see how exposing as-yet-unseen-in-game info from game files could possibly be considered a spoiler," I'll add it in and make an announcement about it.
@NegimaSonic: Many thanks for gathering that list. I'm going to open up a thread on the topic. If you think of any more useful links, please dump them in there!
Does the bump rule apply to the Bazaar section?
