Still, I wish OOO would fill us in about how this really works (or worked, rather...).
Don't you think we at least have a right to know? It would be a lot better to actually see the mechanics of the loot drop system, opposed to sending a bunch of users out attempting to develop a "vague understanding" of it through first or secondhand drop claims. I'm only asking for a bit of clarity on the matter.
?? no more items? or just SUPER ultra mega rare drop rates on everything, and if thats the case, is it now impossible to get what used to actually be considered rare? ie darkfang/ zee
was actually told by GM to file a bug report on it so it gets looked into, as my entire guild and i have yet to see a single drop since update. hrm. i hope me farming for darkfang isn't completely a waste now
Something is definitely wrong. I was averaging over a drop a month simply by playing 1 or 2 prestige missions a day. Now i'm running more than ever and i haven't found anything since the update.

I'm convinced weapon/armor drops no longer occur.
On occasion, i find 2-3 elite/eternal orbs of alchemy at a time, i can't imagine OOOs would give us that many orbs AND weapon drops as well.
If anyone find any "new" weapon/armor drops, please include the date.
(WARNING: ALMOST NO INFO AHEAD) this happened so long ago, I can't even remember who it was but a friend of mine said he found a skolver coat in a green box. Jut that, he didnt say when or where that I can remember of. (p.s not preview. Im not that old. And you guys are lucky, I've never found any gear before)
Found a graviton bomb in Depth 25 FSC, once you get the water from sprites you get rid of the fire where the heart boxes and treasure boxes are on right side..and the box was green this was roughly 1 month or 2 ago
Found a gran Faust in the red boxes after vanna about 1 hr ago
I was soloing it.
Idk if it had anything to with it but I had no deaths at all, maybe that had something to do with it:)

You're the first person in the last 2-3 months, that i know of, to confirm a drop with an actual recent date.
I guess drops still occur, but now they seem to be incredibly rare.
They are really rare. I was SO FREAKING EXCITED. SO NOW I EITHER HAVE A FREE GRANFAUST OR FREE 4.5kE
BEFORE THIS THE LAST DROP OF SIGNIFICANCE WAS 7-8 months ago. It was a silvermail, 4*, in exactly the same place as before. I guess I jus got lucky:)

So the rare monster drops still exist, but doesn't seem like general weapons/armor do.
Was hunting for black kats in alone in the dark, first level which was candlestick keep at depth 24. It was on elite, and I found a static edge in a box that I think was green. Was excited by rare drop, and thought it might be shockburst at first, then saw it was a static edge :( It was found about half an hour before this post.

Either they recently increased the drop rates on equipment, or Nubska is very lucky.

Seems the drops correlate with the monster types and areas.
(And yeah, we are both using Avengers in a beast level. Haters gonn hate)
Skepticraven, I know this is a late response but what difficulty did you run that arena on? I'm curious to test a theory if equipment drops are more common on a certain difficulty.

I got a 2* jelly shield in a post- basil t3 arcade once (the jelly farm 2) green box :last year:
i heard someone found a 5* shivermist buster while kat hunting too in alone in the dark (I think the first lvl has only green) :current kat event:
if accessory drops count a guild member (post-basil) got fancy vertical vents from a mewkat in tier 2 clockwork tunnel haunted passage :last year:

Bump! No one has reported anything here in a while, and we need this thread because it's useful.
Is the thread useful? Don't get me wrong. I enjoy continuing traditions like this, even if they have no point. But why exactly did Equinox start this thread? Did the developers really not know the rate of item drops? Where are the data being collected and analyzed? Does the analysis take into account the fact that the rates have apparently changed over time?
Bopp: Yes it is important. We've had times where equipment drops were rare and then sometimes much more common. Seems like the devs built in some system with equipment drops and they're using us to test the system out. Think, if it was RNG, and players were extremely lucky, they could be finding tons of equipment drops, while other players would have never found an equioment drop at all. Looks like they made a system so that EVERYBODY would have a chance of finding equipment.
It's useful because it proves that drops are indeed still dropping. If someone comes on and posts a drop and dates it recently, then we know that item drops are real and haven't been patched out or some such. Since we haven't had any in a while, it makes me wonder...
on december 13th (or 14th, it was around 12:00, im not sure exactly) i found a 2* brandish at the depth 9 arena in the amber rook (I think) gate
droprates were freaking out on me that day, I was finding lots of orbs and sparks

I found a spiral scale helm about 2 months ago in a tier 2 arena at the last boxes on elite

You can get a vague understanding of how drops worked prior to the update by reading this thread, but even that is rather unrefined. Half of the entries are like "I found an item.... IDK where... Um.... Yeah. I think it was a shock or a fire or..." which tells us very little.
