i agree with him but i think what nick means is that it is something that every one can see when ever they get on this doesn't mean that they do so it wont be in the clockworks and it cant be at any mini towns cause there are people who dont have access to those yet when it comes down to it the possibilities for this are endless and on how extremely lose #10 was i can tell now from every ones comments that if nick wont give even the slightest of a hint then i can tell you right now there is no secret and its sad OOO have we come to this your game is getting so beaver dam stupid, boring, repetitive that you're basically begging people to come back? sad just sad
10 things you didn't know about Spiral Knights
Ironbrofist, from what i've seen you seem to dislike this game.
"your game is getting so beaver dam stupid, boring, repetitive"
Just leave then.
@Nick --- I always thought the whole clockworks idea came from your offices looking at pictures of your offices, and how the whole design on some of the walls is basically a clock mechanism kinda made me think of the whole game changing on a timer. Im guessing I was wrong =(
As for #10:
Players always see the fountain in the middle of the town square, and never ask how the water got there, and are mech knights themselves weak against water in liquid form?
or
The fellow bazaar sales people who help us out, how do they receive the items? What class are they? Why are they friendly to us? Etc.
or
Why do we still have that random shovel in town square?
You know how there are those entrances/exits to Haven and the Bazaar from the Arcade? To the very right, there's a sort of structure similar to those but isn't open.
There's gaping holes behind the Krogmo vending machine things.
Unused traintracks in Moorcroft. (but not absolutely everyone may see this?)
A useless section of Moorcroft with coffins and nothing else. (same as the last thing)
Snipes, snipes everywhere.
Water, water not everywhere.
Houses, fans.. fans in the fountain. What's the point of a fan in a fountain? Then there's those three NPCs working on machines near the entrance to Haven.
The garden... Though I just found it today. That blocked off area everytime someone logs in and they start in Haven?
That blocked off area near Bootshuze... maybe that blocked/unfinished entrance in the Arcade will lead to the area that blocked off area near that guy leads to. (Bootshuze talks about the gremlins.)
Elevators. Gun puppies. Wolvers. Are the gun puppies conspiring against us? Is there gonna be a giant king gun puppy? Are the elevators gonna betray us?
Login screen - I just see gears spinning and spinning and moving... Background in the Clockworks - gears with varying effects depending on the type of stuff in the level (poison, shock, fiends, etc.)
Naww, of course i'm gunna say something about #10.
You guys are simply overthinking Nick's #10.
Agreed. I don't think #10 is any huge game-changing secret that will expose every little secret about the backstory of Cradle. It's probably a little easter egg that nobody notices.
Maybe it's something on the Spiral Knights website, not the game itself.
What about those little random light bulbs in the floor in the corner of Emberlight?
...What the heck are they for?
They are little lightbulbs found on the ground in emberlight, i havent really though of where electricity comes to them from..... (sorry dont have a picutre for you!)
If the Royal Jelly is "squatting" in the Palace it inhabits, who owns or owned the Palace originally?
The Gremlins are supposed to be engineering geniuses on a world that is basically a giant machine. I'm pretty sure they'd work something out. :p
Questions:
Why are there statues of gun puppies in Haven?
What's with those hammers on the banners in front of the AH?
What are those orb things with antenna like the one in front of the Training Hall?
A ) The statues aren't statues of Gun Puppies, the Gun Puppies are robotic murderous versions of the statues.
B ) Those are gavels, not hammers. People running Auctions in real life sometimes use them.
C ) Probably decoration.
http://i55.tinypic.com/16a48ep.png
Nine little light bulbs just sitting there randomly.
I actually think those are luminescent mushrooms xD
Then why are there wires attached to them?
But why in the floor, just in that corner? Why not on the walls in lamps, or on the ceiling, or all over on the floor? Why on the floor, in that spot?
My guess is that #10 talks about the Spiral Knights logo. If you look closely, you can see that the "A" and the "H" actually makes a Leviathan sword, but I think everybody already knows that?
This is all about trivia anyway. :D
The sword between the A and H in the Spiral Knights logo has markings on it which look like an exclamation mark. Every time I see it I see the exclamation mark, not the sword.
#10... is the loading screen!
Players see it everyday =D
"The oldest surviving tileset (environment) in the game is sky islands (day time) and the oldest levels are the Aurora Isles."
That's exactly what I would have guessed -- the levels definitely look it! They're square, and boxy, and could use a polish pass for some more environmentally awesome love!
10. There's lots of secrets in the game, many that we will unveil as we continue to develop the world. However there is one that players see every day that so far as we've seen, no one has ever figured it out. Curious!
Maybe players has figured it out but, because it's so visible and evident, players don't know it supposed to be secret and don't discuss it on forum.... ;-)
Three and Eight are related to Ten.
Just saiyan.
Well only weird thing I saw on Haven is that theres' a Landing pod on the Advanced hall :/
dont be jumpin to conclusion and getting all pissy i do like the game but it gets less and less as the days go on there is nothing new in the game i mean yea they added blast network but i got tired of that [crap] years ago and since their desperate and begging players to come back since their not makin as much money as usual dumbass next time read what im saying
in regards to #10
the player progress, once you become 5* all it says as special assignments is gate progress.
has anyone actually done all 3 tiers of each gate to light up all the stars? if so, has anything changed when you talk to feron, or go to last level/core and talk to all the NPC's?
only thing ive ever wondered about. just never tried.
@IronBrofist: I can see the evil conspiracy to stop you from revealing the truth to everyone, as was foretold you would bring down the evil corporation that was poisoning the minds of.... *snicker* sorry, I can't do that with a straight face. Your taking this game, and the forums way too seriously.
10. I dont know if this was posted before. What about the Bosco, the guy who is trying to mend the mega knight(In bazaar).
He says, " ... If I can just figure out how to get it working properly I'll have myself a personal bodyguard...". Or am I just overthinking.
THE KNIGHTS!1! THEY HAVE NOSES!!1!!
lol jk it's definitely about kats.
I'm not into riddles so I'll just let others guess it.
Well, you can find Mecha Knight kits to summon your own MechaKnight in the Clockworks, so that wouldn't make much of a secret.
The platforms in the arcade look like they pre-date the gate terminals. Seeing as how minerals where are a big deal, along with the track alignment, at some point those were probably going to be used as elevators.
But to add to the list... anyone notice that the Title screen is oddly CRT monitor shaped? Or the platforms in each level just kind of float there? (interestingly enough, if you go to level 0 (lobby) of a gate, everything is held up by vibrating blocks..... magnetic perhaps?
It's how to get the magikat hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wished.......... : )
'Monomi' means/roughly translates to 'scout' or 'to scout' or 'hand torch' (also used for 'scouting' of course, like you use a flashlight).
... For anyone who is interested. I thought that was neat.
- The new Troika branches (Grintovec, Jalovec, and Triglav) are named after mountains in Slovenia.
- Obviously the energy symbol is an electron (Negative charge) which may somehow be related to something else in this game... I just don't know what.
If you zoom out on the forums, theres this really cool background of haven at the top and the core at the bottom. Also, on the clockworks loading screen, there is what appears to be a violin in the lower center.
Other than that, i agree with trying to get full clearence in every active gate, then seeing whether anything has changed. (Talk to the Spiral warden, check the core, etc.)
This probably has no significance but all of the stone puppy statues have a corresponding one opposite of them except for Monomi
I could be wrong, because I don't know how many people get to the Core but, maybe there's a hidden room like in Graveyards.
There is a shovel on the southeast side of haven with a pathway that hasn't been open yet. I'm assuming a new update that will open up a new area or possibly another town? Maybe that's why Monomi is alone, there is a corresponding one in another town to the east.
#10
What about valves? These are the only items in clockworks we can interact with, that seem to have not purpose at all. Buckets of nuts, hydrants or mailboxes all have a chance to drop a coin or heart but valves seem to do nothing (at least I've never get o drop form one). Curious isn't it? ;-)
Actually the theory of the secret being the fact that the Snipes are most likely the owners and in charge of Haven could be very correct.
Since not only is there one on each of the the non Knight NPCs shoulders, the Auction House is clearly run by a pair of snipes wearing hats, and the Advanced Training Hall is run by some snipes with head wear to =0
Anyone made a connection between Spookats and Monomi? I sure haven't :/
Dear Nick,
When will Monomi's friends be popping out of the ground? It is worrisome that there are loose, grassy tiles that are slightly elevated all over Haven as if a gun puppy is about to pop out of the ground.
I remember when the animation for gun puppies popping out of the ground was added not so long ago. (Around the time Snarby made a snack of TheBadger.) I had to remind TheBadger not to rush forward when you see puppy statues as there will be gun puppy poppers near by. TheBadger said, "but there are gun puppy statues in Haven too."
"Ut oh," I replied.
Now that Punch and Vise are in town, they can easily fix those stuck puppies. I hope the stuck puppies are Love Puppies or Rainbow Magic Puppies.
Hugs,
Raspberry
Dunno if anyone brought anything up, but I think the secret has something to do with the fact that there are statues of Gun Puppies everywhere...
Perhaps at one time they were worshiped as greater beings?! D8
I always thought Monomi was there for a reason, same with conjuring Cat in Moorcroft. How do we interact with these guys? Any ideas?
The valves certainly are mysterious, as there is absolutely no benefit to removing them. Were they there before Spiral Knights was released on Steam? Because if not, it could be the team's way of showing their appreciation for Valve's allowing their game on Steam, because once they're destroyed they release a mist that looks like steam.
I'm going to go with whoever said that it's probably something we all noticed and never thought much of, props to that. Also agreeing with the notions that it's not something that EVERYbody sees everyday, just somebody, or perhaps a large amount of players/the majority. I'm guessing it's the broken terminal and or the one that doesn't function in the Clockwork Terminals. MANY players see that every day.
And who says there will be any notification that you found it out? It's not like a secret NPC will pop up, it could just be a subtle visual easter egg.
If we see it every day, it has to be one of the following:
I think you are reading too much into what Nick said. Nick said "However there is one that players see every day that ...", which is somewhat ambiguous. It doesn't mean that *all* players see it *every* day, it could easily mean that at least two players see it, but it may not be the same two players every day. Actually, it may not even mean that much, only that Nick assumes that at least two players probably see it.
So yeah, it could be that button in FSC, or how to get to the sealed off areas in the Aurora Isles: low gardens level, or how to sleep sitting down.
