Not sure if this has been suggested or not, didn't feel like reading 9 pages of comments, but could it be the spiral warden outside of Haven?
My reasoning:
a) you see him everyday
b) no one pays him much attention
c) it could suggest a legitimate threat outside haven on Cradle's surface
10 things you didn't know about Spiral Knights
I would say there is no 10. GMs are just looking for ideas :)
#10 well you know the guard when you arrive at town square the guard with the leviathan blade over his shoulder i always think it moves side by side once it was right near his stool then he was on the other side of it
@Progeimeris: :O that is one of the best ideas that I have seen on this thread so far xD no seriously :O
Anyone else seen that chest outside of the fence around haven? If a nooby got a silver key and opened that...
"Curiosity killed the cat (kat?)" "The most "common" one that most players have a chance of seeing is in Moorcroft" 'Moorcroft Manor probably will play a part in this, what with the strange train tracks" it all adds up too ghost train for the ghost tracks
ps this is just my train of thought
oh ya and in the name of spiral knights in the A and H is a leviathan blade
Yes that's right COLONY meaning the clockworks is not their main-land.
check the wiki the colony is in the clockworks
One of my guildies has suggested that each level is a pod in a giant circle and they cycle. This hence the name CLOCKWORKS.
I already knew that
Did you really have to post four times?
#10 was already found. It's in some long gone thread that I will not bother to seek and necro, but it went along the lines of: The moving skybox in the background of the clockworks/loading screen is it. The secret is that the Clockworks/Haven is just a bunch of interchangable rooms, etc.
This is the answer that was revealed earlier, even the admin, Nick confirmed it: (brilliant job there pixeljoy!)

But i don't know if anyone noticed something: the Cradle itself looks exactly like the skydome! It has some kind of support right over its poles... does it mean it doesn't rotate on its own, but by some means of mechanical tinkering? Or more accurately, by gremlins?
Then it's outrageous! We're fighting against the Cradle's mechanics! Everyday!
My friend Cloudxsephiroth found out that there might be "Reversed Messages" with the merchants in haven. I have to see this for myself if this true but as far as i know, that it may be revealing some secrets about The Clockworks. I myself do not know that this is true until i find out for myself!
Plz if anyone does know these "Hidden Messages" Send me mail on SK!
Thanks
Venrock
Its gotta be something else. nick said thats correct on the design of the game... never that it was number 10 secret... so its still out there, a secret related to some future development...
Everyone pretty much sees this so.. And I have no idea what this is:

"What is that giant latch door for?"
Nice find, but I think that was AFTER the revamp of the grounds?
But really, nice find!
The whole rotating nature of the clockworks seemed very 'DUH' to me as to never be considered a secret.
I can't believe anyone would consider it a secret in the first place.
For #10: The Gremlins built the Advanced Training Hall. If you go to the room to "test your shield bump" with the Shufflebots, you can see that on the right end there is a toolbox with the Gremlin symbol on it. Heheh... did i get it Nick?
its simple what do everyone of us see everyday, but just take for granted that its absolutely natural. the answer is obvious its our characters. what are they? how do they work? are they snipes? also we cant see thier faces, only glowing eyes? and they rely on energy to move and can take it in freely from the planet? look at the elemental hood, you should be able to see the face? but its just balck and blue eyes. so are we machines? are spirits of the dead? are we human? and if so why do we exist in the world, are we controled by some far off person and are seen only as that? (matrix~~ or ya know huge reference that the character as a robo has to be controled by us out here in the real word) and also if there is no machine in the body how do we hold things, how do we move, how is there armor so working perfectly.
its a huge mystery that no one questions because the mystery is ourselfs. end of story
If you use a Chapeau, you can see we have a nose.. or mouth... or beak!? We might have snipe heads xD
@Dukesky Lol same, but i didn't figure out the part about the extra section with the lights being the Arcade.
@Invincibility, Kinguzero and Obilvion Check post 415 by Snowdusk, theres a link explaining the tenth secret that nick was referring to. Although remember Nick did say that there were other secrets too lol
i think its the blocked off area thats behind you when you log in thats guarded by the npc with the leviathan blade
Well, I don't klnow if someone else posted this because I only read the first page of comments. :P Well, I think they might may be some connection between when Nick says Curious! and not Curious? I am not really good with riddles, but I thought I might point that out!
Is #10 something to do with the fact all snipes fly by spinning their wings, yet on the haven loading screen, the white snipe is flying like a regular bird?
I saw a Gremlin toolbox at the advanced training hall...

25c = roughly 90/100 energy
It's called the arcade for a reason
The secret is that the clockworks is like a huge gear(we knew that), but the levels, as you can see in some areas like aurora isles and others, the levels are in domes that rotate around and fit into slots, creating a random path to the center.
Nick posted that this was right, i might be missing something though :l
It could be that void lichens have a white attack type.
Or that monomi is a rocket puppy we can use to blow up the stone wall?
Or is it maybe something to do with the empty square and sealed exit in the arcade?
Or maybe it's that the sealed exit in the arcade leads to the area behind the stone wall?
Or..........If you kill yourself in the dark ritual area something will happen.
..........................................................
Wait! The kats are the spiral knight prototype right?
Their are also all ghost's.......
Something killed off the spiral knight kat prototype.......
I'm afraid that my knight Leafblader will share their fate if this happened.....
Wait! couriosity killed the kat!
The spiral knight prototype kats tried to find out what was behind the gate behind Gracken in Emberberlight..........................
Except that if you read teh whole thread, we foudn out number 10 months ago.
Nick never SAID it was his number 10.
Number 3 we still need to figure out.
Also the many things we said COULD be other secrets that are true.
Is it the fact that the surface is covered in verdant green foliage despite the fact that there is no obvious source of water or other minerals that could support growth?
Just my two cents.
THE GM'S GAVE TOTALLY IT ALL AWAY WITH THEIR POSTS!
IT'S '[REDACTED]'
HOW U GUYS NOT KNOW THIS!?
Also, this post has not been GM edited. THE SECRET IS [REDACTED]!!!!!!!!!!
SEERUSLY!
near the crafting place at the haven something seems to have been blocked off......where does it lead? idk, its always bugged me.
@Mysticbeam - Indeed. Not sure what we are missing, but looking at the loading screen you can clearly see the levels within the gears of the clock. Maybe the SK universe is contained within a pocket watch? Maybe that pocket watch is held by puzzle pirates! Arrr! Avast ye scurvy knights! Or maybe the clock is high on the mast of a mighty pirate ship! Once we clear the core, we will take over the pirate ship, then the world! **gasps** Perhaps it's Nick's watch!
There's my two cents.

Cort lies and then pokes! And that happens every time I'm trying to talk with him! >:o
"They say the answer to a question is always present in the question itself"
Quoting Nick:
10. There's lots of secrets in the game, many that we will unveil as we continue to develop the world. However there is one that players see every day that so far as we've seen, no one has ever figured it out. Curious!
There's lots of secrets in the game... Yes we know that, for one, the ghost block in FSC which mysteriously appears when you hit a switch hidden by a box.
They havent unveiled it tho.
So that cant be one of the secret he is refering to. Secrets they have unveiled eh? hmm... its curious as they have unveiled some things which were rather mysteries, rather than secrets.. for example, the open space in the arcade, where the krozmo coin alchemy machine and the fiend manager lies, was open earlier. People wondered what would come there. So in one way, they uncover mysteries which goggle knights. And yes, that is, in a way, developing the world.
Now to the secret, or rather the mystery, he was refering to. He said players see it everyday. Now what is one thing people see everyday? HAVEN, yes. So that means clockworks is out of the question.
Now there are a few i want to enumerate in the order of decreasing possibility. But there is still a chance that the least possible one might be the actual one.
First we start with the townsquare, where EVERYONE spawns.
1) The Down part of Haven. In town square, where everyone spawns, you know there is a path to the south which is blocked. No one really knows whats there beyond that. Since we have landed on this planet, we need to know whats down there.
2) This is with reference to the previous one. The so-called guard guarding this, is actually a trojan, holding a leviathan and a shield.
3) The screens above the auction house and the face of it. The screens seem to be showing a strange dialect, which appears to be chineese or japaneese idk which. Since i dont know either of those languages, i asked some of my friends. They said it was not japaneese or chineese. Or maybe the words were too small... could it be another dialect?
4) The front face of the auction house. There are snipes wearing transparent caps sitting on crowns and some strangers in there. I dont know if this is some kind of secret, but yeah.
5) The only stranger with no snipes on him, other than basil, is Hailoh, the first stranger who meets all the new recruits. He is right where you spawn, before those 2 gates.
6) There is a pod on the haven training hall... idk if this can be called a secret, but arent pods only there in the rescue camp?
7) The chimneys and exhaust fans etc along the bottom look like parts of houses...
8) I found this out actually after i posted this comment. Am adding this in editting. The pipelines, the yellow ones, they all seem to lead to the arcade, but none of them ever appear even once in the arcade.. what is in those things? hmm...
Now we can move on to the bazaar, Not much here tho.
1) The pond always intrigued me... as if it had something about it. It never evaporates.. might it be a wishing well? lol
2) Greave, the armor merchant, is the only stranger with a HUGE backpack.
3) HUUUGE open space in the bottom.
4) Vatel sells 2* recipes and his flag shows a poison vial... idk what it means.
5) Bosco never seems to complete his mecha knight. If my memory serves right, back in beta, or some time after it, the robot was sitting still, not moving. Now its up and working...
And now the arcade, for one thing i thought the secret would be in here for sure, but i didnt find anything relavent.
1) The huge holes behind the krozmo coin area, the mineral deposit explainer, or whatever, area etc.
2) When you stand that the gates, looking down, you can see another lift and some space before it. That is where you spawn :D
Thats about it. I couldnt find anymore. Now idk if #10 has already appeared, but if it has, glad i found it out :D
P.S happy birthday, Spiral Knights!
I skipped through about 6 pages and I think this is known already, so sorry if I've ben ninja'd, but...

It's actually pink, and it's hair is black. I happened to be damaging it at the time. It's a slime, smoking a pipe with a mustache and hair. It's a secret, and keep in mind, he just said players. Not a lot of players specifically, and considering a lot of people go to the royal jelly every day, this means people see it every day. Probably, anyway.
EDIT: Nevermind, that's covered in the wiki. It's called an impostocube. :/
Why do you keep necroing this topic and make guesses? Nick already confirmed #10 after it was guessed.
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/24841#comment-150180
Please see this thread, or read people's comments on this one. There is no other secret on his list.
^^ Where in that thread is there any mention of #10? Anywhere?
Because all the info in that thread was pretty common knowledge even before it came out.
...maybe 10's a dark day where we knights finally submit ourselves in a contradictoral climax.
Please, please stop bringing this old thread back from the dead
Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Bringing this thread back from the dead yay.
mooooooooooo!!!
I still think Monomi is a rocket puppy.
moo
I'm serious we need to know.
#10 certainly it has something to do with haven sense every type of player meet there whether your a 0 star or 5 star. i think it has something to do with the advance training room because thats where all players who are bored or dont have enough energy to continue their expedition go to hang. it probably has something to do with the guy standing in fron of the advance training that greet us when ever we come inside.
#4 i like how you incorperated the gremlins not only as adversaries for players to fight, but as npc that players can interact with like in the varient forge. This way hypothertically new players that come to the game will be off guard to the gremlins in the clock works and they will learn a harsh lesson, (Lol) that not all gremlins are friendly.
#5 you are absolutely right, players have become very proud of their weapons including me having defeated hordes of monsters going solo or with a team. We as players i think take everything else as secondary having barely using any other items beside when we want to stock up on viles when were gonna face a boss like the jelly king or when we stock up on health pills to have as back-up health. I think its a great thing that we are getting more use of our weapons sense usage can bring out skills. i do love that you created a turret that can help the players out by paying 5 which i think is to expansive to activate and help kill the monsters.
#6 i do like the way we can pick up tools in the game because it makes it feel like were on a journey to destroy a great evil and we need to use whatever we could find at hand. this gives it a nice feeling to the game that u have back up tools to use if your sword, shield and gun do not give you enough of the fire power u need to destroy what your fighting.
#8 the spookat is a very well designed monsters in the way it looks and its movements. Although its movements are predictable, it still proves a dificult monster to best when facing swarms of them especially in tier 3 when they launch multiple projectiles. I also like how you implemented the spookat in tier 2 starting point making them look like they are doing a ritual to revive a crush skeleton zombie.
#1 i think number one was a great idea, and it sucks that another development team put it out before you.
i thik your ideas are awsome from the kromo coins for pvp to the token only bought items that you can get after defeating a boss many times. I hope you continue to fill our minds with wonder at what is to come next :). Dont hold anything back!
It has been noted that Nick said 'People' not 'All people'. So just because the majority haven't seen it, that doesn't rule it out as a possibility.
