I just got that XD
But like what Tev said, Ricky is stupid
I just got that XD
But like what Tev said, Ricky is stupid
So far the only problems that are arising, is Ricky, and how long you've been knocked out for. If the real Edgar appears, it could really cause a stir, if anyone believes him.
How about their poor little thingies attached to the middle of their legs just under their hips? They can't lose that! Tis too important. I still vote A to save their thingies.
.....................
You mean their fluffy small tail! Aaah that must be it!
Ricky doesn't seem to be the most bright of individuals, but I think there are some things he wouldn't fall for...that's why I wouldn't choose A or B. However, maybe he happens to really like icy bubble tea - maybe he'd think Edgar was turning over a new leaf and realizing just how powerful and mighty he is? /shrug
Either way, I think Ricky is so bent on his duties and on revenge that any of these options will be difficult to proceed with. Let us see what comes of them...
@Snow
Yay! I thought that thread was dead and no one would ever touch it again. :D
PS: Im on like chapter 17 of this. :3
Ehh... No, just go check the gremlin chatter for that gremlin with tail thread, you'll understand.
Annnnnnyhow....
Ricky's not so bright, perhaps it shall be easy fooling him?
@Artistbma
Oh, do make haste and read faster! We're almost coming to an end! >.<
@Hawxindanite & Infernus-Dragneel
Well it's simply a bathroom break :P
Let's hope it doesn't stink so bad in there... :P
Your attempt to coax Ricky might be clichéd, but you will just give it a try now. Like they say, desperate situations call for desperate measures...
"What? Edgar need bathroom break?" Ricky responds queerly, and you try to nod as frantically as possible, to express how distressed your current situation is. "Okay, let Ricky join you. Ricky needs bathroom break too. But no escape, Ricky will know!"
He stands up lazily and unties all three of you. "Wait, Ricky not stupid!" He jolts suddenly, "Ricky not suppose untie. Ricky want you follow!" In the end, he ties up all of you again, and makes a leash to tug along just in case you "run from Ricky". Ricky pushes out the door and walks out first, and you follow him close behind, then Elliot and Kevier walk out last. After a few seconds, Ricky actually starts to make pace. "Ricky urgent! Ricky urgent! Walk fast now! Or Ricky smash you!" He seems pretty serious about going to the toilet now.
After you got roughly pulled a few times by the leash (and heard desperate squeals from Ricky), you reach the public gent's toilet. To Ricky's horror, there is a queue waiting to get inside. He makes a rather gruesome face, and he doesn't look like he wants to wait for long. Just as his face begins to redden, he lets go of the leash and pushes everyone aside.
"MAKE WAY! RICKY HAS TO GO!!! POOR RICKY MUST GO NOW!!!" he cries out, and forces the door to open with a huge body slam. Someone inside lets out a shriek, and not for long, that poor guy gets shamefully kicked out too.
Now that Ricky is occupied to his own business, you glance at Kevier, then at Elliot. It's very obvious that there's nothing else in your minds but one word: Run.
You dash out back to the passage and past the gremlin guard's post, still tied up with Kevier and Elliot. Unfortunately, when you think you're almost there, you coincide with the locked main entrance of the Arsenal. Judging by the distance, it would take one minute for Ricky to get to you, from the bathroom to the guard post, assuming he isn't sprinting. That makes it only thirty seconds for you to figure out an escape plan.
"Edgar's pass!" Kevier exclaims, "Isn't it right inside your pocket?" You show him your tied hands, and he sighes.
"Kevier, aren't you rather short? Go ahead to his pocket and bite out the pass." Elliot orders the Knocker, only to be shunned by a look of disgust. "Yes, with your mouth. Now go! We're running out of time!"
Your mind starts a vague countdown. Twenty seconds left.
Kevier steps out, muttering to himself in complaint, and takes a deep breath. Then, he buries his own head deep into a pocket. He whines frustratingly for a couple of times, but soon he pulls himself off with the pass in his teeth. "Nggh ghht hhht!" he smiles with great pride.
Ten seconds left.
For a split second, you heard something slamming apart very loudly, then the whole passage starts to shake with a thump, then another, and another.
"It's Ricky! He found out! Hurry my Knocker!" Elliot urges nervously.
Six seconds left.
Kevier gets to his feet and reaches out his head as high as he can to touch the pass against the door scanner. Being too short, he takes a mighty leap, but missed by an inch.
Five seconds.
"EDGAR!!! RICKY KILL YOU NOW!!!"
Four.
"Ugh, let me!" Elliot grabs the pass from Kevier (with his mouth again, of course), and quickly hits the door scanner. The door slides slowly.
Three.
"Duck!" Elliot yells, as he rolls out through the small gap. Kevier squeezes his tiny body through it and successfully gets out.
Two.
"EDGAR DIEEE!!!"
One.
You make a leap of faith, and slide through the narrow space, just before an axe slams on the ground, nearly slicing a single hair on your head. You stand up again and rush straight to the elevator of the Clockworks. Just in time.
The door is still sliding open slowly, and the great brute gremlin struggles to ease himself out in vain. He steps back, and gives a mighty swing, making a dent on the door. On the second try, the door breaks apart, leaving behind a wide gap. Ricky, now standing tall in front of you, starts to smile sinisterly, "Edgar think he outsmart Ricky? Ricky show you who's boss now!!" He lets out a beastly roar, and holds his axe high above his head.
All of a sudden, you hear a loud gunshot. Ricky stops yelling and stays still like a statue, with a dark hole bored right between his eyes. He heaves a final breathe, and falls to the floor with a crash.
"Well, one thing's for sure: no one can outsmart a bullet." You hear a voice from a dark corner, and then a figure steps out. It was Harry, the knight whom you've met during your trip earlier to the Deconstruction Zone. "Ah, my fellow gremlin comrade." Harry grins as he tucks in his gun back to its sheath. "We've been waiting for hours just for you to get back to Emberlight. I knew something must have gone terribly wrong, so I checked around, and fortunately, found you in time."
"You mean, we." another knight appears from the other side; Garren has been around here too. "Well, all of us had been so worried, so we're sent here to check on you. Now that you're safe and sound, we'd better head back before we have to face a bunch of drooling brutes. Let's go home."
[Continued at next post]
At a remote spot of Emberlight, you lay down to rest with the knights, and of course, little Kevier and Elliot the technician. Garren has been holding his communication device, reporting to Kora about your successful escape. After a while, he hands it to you. "Kora would like to speak with all of you."
Kevier and Elliot stretch out their necks to get a good glimpse of the screen, displaying the female knight you had seen before, and she is very delighted to see you.
"Greetings, fellow citizens of Emberlight! Oh wait, one of you are from the Arsenal itself? How interesting! Tell me all about everything."
You proceed to tell everything, from your journey across the Jigsaw Valley right into the construction site, with all the intel you have gathered, and how you found Elliot. Kevier interrupts you once in a while to add in details, exaggerating them according to his will (but mostly about how he remains stuck in the backpack). Elliot briefly introduces himself and tells a little about how he got into the Arsenal as a technician.
"Such a wonderful adventure, and all the dangers you've faced and narrowly escaped!" Kora states in awe, "You're one of the bravest soldiers I've ever met in my life! If I may suggest, you would be a great asset to our recon knights. Not only that, you've got a great amount of intel, not to mention letting a technician from the Arsenal to join in our cause!
"I'm really impressed by your performance, and I can guarantee we're all prepared to launch an infiltration against the Warmaster. You might be needed again. But for now, just rest yourselves safely here, and take caution. You'll never know if the gremlins will come and get you again; I can imagine them red-faced while roaming through the entire Clockworks just to get a piece of you. Oh yes, I would like to talk to the one named Elliot later. Until then, have a great day!" Kora gives an honorable salute before the screen blanks out.
It is indeed a great, daunting adventure you have experienced today. You wit, bravery and quick-thinking has brought you through every obstacle. As you close your sleepy eyes, you're glad you've finally reach
The end
...And you think the story has ended? Perhaps so, if you wish to! This is the conclusion drawn by your own hands (or rather your minds), but sometimes people do make mistakes, don't you? And we always hope for a second chance. Well, now you do!
In "Rewind", you get to choose to call it a day, or you can literally backtrack to a few chapters before and rethink some of your precious decisions, and possibly get an even greater and successful ending! All you need to do is to vote as usual! Take control over time, and make the best out of it! By the way, if your second ending isn't as great, I'm sorry, this bonus round can only exist once in a blue moon, I mean, in a single attempt. Of course, you can always leave the beautiful endings as they are.
A- Backtrack to #25 (and hope for the best)
B- Abandon this bonus round (and celebrate your great achievements!)
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Important Note: I'm considering to write another fanfic which is exactly like this style of decision-making roleplay story. If mostly everyone agrees on ending "The Gremlin Spy" now, I'll start off another fanfic, and you get to choose what it will be next! (Decisions, decisions...) Even better, you can expect some great improvements! Here are some sneak previews:
-Get points for participation and redeem them for prizes!
-Unlock achievements! (and get more points!)
-Improved bonus rounds
-Cakes! (whether the cake is a lie or not, it's up to you)
I've been reading this thread,it is amazing! I love it,great work ,I still gotta check out artist's war,but I'll finish this post off with a big A so I can make some decisions! I haven't been on SK since November or sometime so I might go on it right now,Great work snow!
But at the same time, I'm going to miss dear Elliot and Kevier if we continue. Decisions, decisions...
Although rewinding sounds good, it might be cool to pick out a new scenario and see how that falls together! Maybe we could even take turns writing things!!
But that's a later possibility. It was cool to be a part of this fanfict during it's last bit, and I'd like to continue to be here along with it! :D My choice is B.
@Metaalpha
Why, thank you! I'm happy that you enjoy it as much as I do! And welcome back! ;)
@Frignard-The-Third
You might as well mention the TARDIS :P
@Everyone who chose B
Thanks for choosing to end this, I seriously need some break for now... T^T
@Everyone who chose A
Don't worry, I will be glad to fulfill your wish all the more :)
It seems like we have equal votes for each choice, so we'll call for a tie-breaker! But mind you, this will be more on luck than judging intellectually.
You will see two choices below. One of them will be A, and the other will be B. I know, they will not make any sense, but actually they do have a certain relation to the actual choices. If you have zero percent idea on what they are, just blindly pick one, it's all up to you. However, if you are familiar with codings... Well, just go on and make up your mind. :)
-Drab Wack
-Draw For
(Note: Answers may or may not be in order.)
Hello, I just completed reading the adventure, and coincidentally you finished writing it yesterday. (Wow my timing is bad) Let me just say that the story was wonderful and I should hope to be able to participate in an adventure of yours if you choose to create another. :D
Welcome, and thanks for your comments! Fortunately, the story hasn't officially ended just yet, so feel free to vote anytime, even right now! We're always glad to have another person joining in the fun :D
This is quite exciting...I think I may have figured the code out, but I don't want to say anything and ruin the fun. :)
It seems that there could be a misunderstanding going on here...
The "Rewind" bonus round will decide two things:
1. If the majority vote agrees on backtracking to #25, then the story will restart from that point onwards, thus resetting the ending. It will depend on everyone's choices on how good the ending will turn out, just like it has always been.
2. If the majority vote agrees on stopping the story on our current ending, "The Gremlin Spy" will be officially ended, and I will start to prepare for another similar adventure story, where everyone can vote and make choices as usual. The only difference is the story/adventure. The mechanism will be exactly the same as "The Gremlin Spy".
Hope this clears up any misconceptions you have. So right now, I'll cancel the tiebreaker and recall the bonus round. Will it be...
A- Backtrack to #25, or...
B- Abandon this bonus round, and move on to the next story
B!
PS: I may look like I'm new here, but I just havn't been on the forums in a long time, and I deleted my old spiral knight that had the name I went by.
If you were a Clockwork Renegade, or even read it, you would know me as Terarr or Jinx.
Ah, Ebil-Bunny... I remember that name! You had posted right from the start. Thank you so much for coming back! Now CATCH! *throws bomb* xD
I've heard of the Clockwork Renegades, but I don't really follow it up, mainly because I found out the character slots are full :/
So, I've never heard those two names before x)
P.S. If you're opening a new slot for the Clockwork Renegades, or making another role-play, I'll certainly join in!
I'd like to see a new one start. ^.^
@Ebil: Hi there, hon! Long time no see!
@Snowdusk: The Renegades kinda' died ... eventually it was just me and Azure-Orbit left posting. :P
Well...if the code no longer matters, I'll reveal what it was. :)
Drab Wack = Draw back = Backward
Draw For = Forward
although i like this plotline, i feel this is one of the best endings possible. it was interesting, getting both good and bed things, thus engaging you in it. i choose B because it just feels finished, and I'm looking forward to the new one! I wonder what it'll be, and what species it will have! (maybe we can start off deciding that!)
@Tevokkia
What if someone starts off a new one?
@Tanoka
Looks like anagrams are too simple for you guys... I'll make sure not to repeat this mistake in the future >:)
@Dmatter
Yes, of course! All of you will be deciding what the next fanfic will be.
We had trouble getting people to post regularly enough in-character... I find that the group we have in the treasure vault are either writers not interested in roleplaying or new roleplayers of the sort that I regrettably have little patience for (to me, roleplaying is serious business to a degree that's almost unfortunate). There are always exceptions to those two categories, of course, but considering how quickly people lose access to the forums or move onto other things mid-story, I'd have my reservations about joining another game should someone start it up. The last one started out really fun, but as a moderator for the game, it slowly became work as people left and I was playing more and more characters that I hadn't created. When the character that had been playing opposite mine throughout the game no longer had a player, that was the last straw ... I tried to stick it out but I just couldn't do it, since I really dislike writing characters not my own for long and I was doing practically everything in the scene (at that point, it's not really roleplaying anymore).
I'm sorry to hear that...
Indeed, pure roleplay stories are best played live, because fast responses is the essence of a quick-paced adventure. Unfortunately, I don't have a big deal of experience in roleplaying to comment much xD
I have to agree with that for the most part, although I enjoy an active online roleplay, too ... you can get a lot more dialogue and character building in when you can write up a few paragraphs. It's not as fast, but if your group is the sort that sticks around, it can be very rewarding. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find a group that sticks through a whole adventure, and the bigger the group, the more likely you are to have it break up.
Usually I just play D&D, Exalted, Pathfinder, or whatever homebrew Sol is running (with or without a system), though.
The Gremlin Spy has officially ended! *throws confetti*
All my credit goes to God, for granting so much to me willingly. Of course, thank you, Sega and Three Rings, for making such an awesome work for all of us to enjoy. I also thank all the first-timers who initiated the first chapter, all of your participations are very welcoming and encouraging, which drove me all the way to this point.
Next, thank you Frignard, for reading my story and reassuring my writing. Special thanks to Tevokkia, for staying right from the start till the very end, and her unfailing encouragement and attention. (You should take a look at her works, she's a brilliant talent at work.)
Last but not least, I thank all the participants who have kept their excitement all the way and let it run throughout the story. Every single vote from you really does matter to me.
We shall meet again next time :D
If a new RP comes, I'll join! I was kind of sad when the Clockwork Renegades went down. I'm home schooled, so I can be very active. The reason I wasn't active at the end of the other RP, was that nobody else posted.
@Snowdusk - Aw, thank you. That's sweet.
@Ebil-Bunny - Well, we'll see if someone starts another up. I've got a bit too much on my plate to do it myself.
The next story is up, and you are given the choice to choose which one you would like to take on!
Click the link above for more details, and get voting! Thank you for your support!
I fixed it, so it should work now. Thanks Tev :3
Edit: Congratulations on your honorable award!
B is very risky...Especially wif two guys following you, Ricky would like to join the toilet party. A is a little risky, cuz that usurper Ricky always follow you and Bill wants the trio and Ricky to stay until Billy said so... SO i think it's better to go wif C.
