((I'm pretty sure you're not meant to be controlling Kyrto. He is Thinslayer's character.))
Return to Cradle (Roleplay. Apps accepted!)
^ Besides i was in in-game chat with thinslayer at that moment
((Kyrto is not properly my character (I think he was Svanto's idea; I'd have to look), so I don't feel right being very strict with who uses him. Still, I would prefer exclusive use of him, if possible. I know his character.))
When Serko was taken aboard, he was nearly dead from radiation poisoning. Kyrto was inclined to just let him die, but he was a valuable asset. Youngsters these days had no honor. The medical team managed to stabilize him, so the captain took the opportunity to question him.
"What did you find out? Was your mission a success?"
((Gwen finally replied to Trivoc.))
When Serko shot at the knight, he'd just messed with the wrong security guard. Keston shield-blocked the headshot and returned fire, hitting Serko in the chest. Before he could be stopped, Serko jumped into the escape pod and shut the hatch. Keston tried to override it and force it open, but he was too late - the pod launched, right in the middle of the solar wind.
He headed back into the safe zone and called up Ozlo, informing him that the spy had escaped. Ozlo sighed, acknowledged, and put down the phone. Both of them hoped no important information was compromised.
((Your original post as Gwen in the terminal was a little far back for an edit conversation don't you think? XD Might've been better to have just made another post. Oh well, I'll go along with it))
Trivoc
"I'm Gwenyvier, but you can call me 'Gwen.' As for assurance of my honesty...where did he go?..." Gwen trailed off, and then proceeded to look around for someone "Ah, there he is. Give me a moment." She walked up to the knight, said something to him while pointing at Trivoc, and both of them came over. "Trivoc? Meet my friend Arkus." The large Knight was decked out in Almirian Crusader armor, and wielded a strange Troika. "Pleasure to meet you, sir," he said in a deep, merry voice.
Trivoc could hardly believe it. "Arkus? Are you the corrupted Guardian who was sent to look for Alpha Squad? How... how did you get back to normal? More importantly, what are you doing here?" He asked. He was bewildered that such a Knight, who was deemed K.I.A. so long ago was actually in front of him, alive and well. And allied with the strangest girl he had ever met, no less.
[This day is just going to keep getting better isn't it?] Trivoc asked himself silently.
((I know it's kinda short, but it should get longer once Trivoc converses with Gwen and Arkus))
And I would like to join as well! And this time it's a girl!
Faction: Morai
Name: Cleo (nothing related to Theo)
Gender: Female
Appearance: Short height, Sky personal color.
Arsenal: Cleo dislike using armors, thus she is usually seen wearing a green floral dress almost everytime, she has a long golden hair which she usually keep in pigtails. Cleo also carries a very rare rapier-like weapon known as the Weaver.
Personality:
Cleo is a vacant girl who had been born as a Morai. Although she is very quiet and is aloof, Cleo is very caring and gentle to anyone, even to her enemies. She usually spend hours just sitting in front of a flower observing it and talk to it by times, making others think she is the odd duck in the group. Cleo also hate fighting and is very merciful to her foes, but her skill in battle is to be noted for her speed and reflexes.
She had been training to fight swiftly and just make them temporarily unable to fight other than killing them.
Cleo also like flowers and is against people who try to destroy nature.
Bio:
Born as a Morai, she was thaught to be tough and ruthless by her parents. But Cleo never did, she never got along with her parents since she was a kid making her develope a vacant personality and would rarely reach out for others. She ran away from home few years later due to her parents hurting and insulting her for a long time. She lived in a place where there is no civilization and only nature, Cleo decided to spend time conversing to the flora and fauna there to avoid losing the state of her sanity.
After years, her parents finally found her and sent her to the military so that she can finally become a 'real' Morai. She hated her life since then, she was forced to join the squad responsible for the mission to take over Cradle's core from the Isorans.
Cleo managed to escape into the clockworks as soon as they all arrived in Cradle, she was then branded a traitor from the Morai.
Additional stuff: Other than her aloofness, Cleo loved to play games and act like a kid. This is due because of her childhood where she never had friends or anyone to play with.

Weapon app?:
Name: Weaver
Class: Close Quarter - Semi Grappler.
Star level: 4*
Damage types/resistances: pierce with low chance of stun.
Swing style: 6 swing, fast speed.
Charge attack: the Weaver extends into a long whip and wraps the enemy, bringing the enemy closer to the wielder.
Abilities: In cost of amazing speed, the Weaver is relatively a weak weapon with a penalty of low damage and low charge time.
Description: Unlike ordinary weapon, the Weaver is a rare one and only a skilled blacksmith can create such complex weapon, the blade itself can be extended into a long whip which can be used to grab anything from long range. There is currently no other way to replicate or to fix the Weaver, making the wielder to remember how fragile this blade really is.
((@Infernus-Dragneel: your app is accepted! I'd been itching to have a female Morai in here for some time now. If you don't mind, I'd like to place her in Gor'Kazam's squad.))
((@Azure-Orbit: I agree, it's kinda far back.))
Arkus laughed heartily. "The Core revived me and took out all that...bad stuff. No fun at all, but had to be done. Yessir, I'm the real deal. Need a hug?" He waddled up to Trivoc and practically lifted him up in a big hug, and then put him down gently. Gwen tried to say something smart about that, but she broke out into laughter before she could finish.
After everyone had composed themselves, Arkus said, "I'm supposed to go down there and protect you and stuff. You okay with that?"
((I'm running into a lot of trouble irl right now. The internet's pretty much down so I can't really post as much as normal. Also, I'm not really sure what to do with Jari right now. He just tricked a berserker into killing all of the other scientists on board, and Kyrto just told him to do something useful (which he obviously can't do). So yeah... What should I do?))
((I invoke my power of overwrite. Jari did not trick a berserker into killing all the scientists; I will leave that decision to Unstable-Ordinance.))
((I imagined Jari to be a very rebellious, hot-headed scientist, so I would think he would continue to work behind Kyrto's back. He should probably make something useful just to keep Kyrto interested, like a new weapon, but otherwise keep doing whatever he wants.))
Serko was boiling mad... They did manage to save him from dying, but traces where still there. He was emmiting energy, his mist was regaining at a hyper-fast rate but it leaked out when it got full, which it always was now. The result had been a field of energy around him, disabling most electronics, and worst of all, he couldn't be a spy now. The energy field disabled his recon cloak and he couldn't really diguse when he had a blue field of energy around him. Worst of all was that there could be bigger, more serius traces of the radioactivity... Good thing was that he didn't get cancer... Yet atleast.
A scientist on the ship (its not Jari if you'r wondering) thought it was intresting with the energy field and had modified a Cyborsuit set to fit for a spy. Serko was going to test the suit, when he arrived at the lab he was greeted by an old morai. Didn't seem like a person that would do suits for a spy, Serko thought. When he saw the suit he was dissapointed, it was a normal Cyborsuit. Then a light went up in his mind, his energy field could power the Cyborsuit? When the scientist explained that he had replaced the Cyborsuit armorcore with a modified recon cloak and a illusion device, Serko started to understand. The Cyborsuit still needed a ton of energy tho. But it seemed to be able to run on his energy field, it contained it too. The modified recon cloak was... Diffrent than the recon cloaks he was used too, it didn't deploy a field a field that made him invisible, it was the suit that got invisible, and the field could only be disturbed by Shock, and same with the illusion device, the illusion device allowed him to look like another knight. The modified Cyborsuit had hidden pockets where he could hide his weapons.
Thanks! Serko said when he walked away, happy over his new armor.
And just for fun i made a app for the cyborsuit and Serko's cyborsuit:
Cyborsuit body & helm
Class: Armor & helm
5*
Resistance: ALL
Desc: The Cyborsuit negates all damage aslong as its powered, it uses a ton of power, a full battery lasts 2 minutes.
Serko's Cyborsuit body & helm
Class: Armor & helm
5*
Resistance: normal
Desc: A Cyborsuit whose defense have gotten replaced by a illusion device and a modified recon cloak, it still uses alot of power.
((Serko ignored Kyrto's question and walked away. Was that intentional?))
((Two minutes of invincibility is too long. 10 seconds is more acceptable. Also, Serko will die quickly if the radiation isn't scrubbed from his body. No cloaking is possible while he is still radiated.))
Gor was his childhood name, given to him by his two brothers. Unlike most Morai on board the Al'truis mothership, Gor'kazam had a rather pleasant and uneventful life as a child. He joined the military when he was nineteen because they desperately needed soldiers to quash the Isoran Revolution. During the war, he was given the name "Kazam," pronounced "kah-zaim," which means "unflinching." He was given it because nothing the Isorans threw at him could make him so much as bat an eyelid. He preferred being called "Kazam" over "Gor," but sometimes his squad would use the latter just to see him blush.
Eq'larore (pronounced "eck-la-ro-rah," but each "r" is rolled, so it sounds more like "eck-la-do-dah") and Bod'gured (prounounced "bod-giur-ed") were facing off in a game of Gambit. Each player was given seven cards. They would each put down one card at a time; each player had to put down a card higher than the one on the table until one of them no longer had such a card. In that event, the player had the option of either drawing a card from the deck or declaring a bet that his opponent had no higher card, either. If the player drew a card from the deck that was not higher than the one on the table, or if his declared bet was proven wrong, he automatically lost the match. If he successfully drew a higher card, the match could continue for one more round. If he won his bet, he won the match.
Many players bet money on this game, but Kazam wouldn't tolerate it, so his squad used random trinkets around the ship instead, using things like hairpins, paperclips, and rusted bolts.
Larore counted the cards. There was a very small chance the Gured could beat his 10, so he decided to make the bet. "I don't think you have anything higher than that 10." Gured asked, "Are you sure you wanna make that bet?" He grinned, baring all his teeth. Larore nodded. His bet worked; Gured's highest remaining card was an 8. "Huzzah! I win! I get all your paperclips." Gured grunted and let him take them. "Next time, buddy. Next time."
Kazam opened the hatch, and Larore and Gured immediately stood to attention. Cleo was still in the bathroom, probably cleaning out the dirt under her fingernails. "Good morning, team. At ease! How are things going back here?" Larore piped up: "I won another Gambit match!" Gured crossed his arms and grunted again. "I almost had you, y'know." Kazam had to chuckle a little. "Next time, Gured." He winked, and Gured nodded.
Cleo finally came out of the bathroom and saluted Kazam, who returned the salute and greeted her. "Good morning, Cleo. Looking trim as always. Getting enough sleep?"
That was a bit of a time jump... And Serko's answers where in post 51... And about the cyborsuit its fine if its 10 seconds too, it aint like anyones gonna use it in this story anyway
((Kyrto's question:))
When Serko was taken aboard, he was nearly dead from radiation poisoning. Kyrto was inclined to just let him die, but he was a valuable asset. Honor had no value for these youngsters. The medical team managed to stabilize him, so the captain took the opportunity to question him.
"What did you find out? Was your mission a success?"
Not really... They are currently going for a planet called cradle. (he dosent know theyr orbiting around it yet) I was only able to nuke once...
Serko fainted... again...
((Comment #62 has some more story in it. Check it out!))
Kyrto grew worried. He had a hunch that the knights would send reinforcements to Cradle, but he wasn't expecting it to happen so soon. The Skylark would prove a challenging foe, so he had to reinforce the ship's weapons and armor before it arrived. Now he had to accelerate that schedule. Darn it!
He got on the intercom. "Warriors, we're out of time. The Skylark is on its way, carrying nearly a million Spiral Knights. We have no choice but to deploy to Cradle now. Grab your best gear and get ready to drop."
Kazam clapped his hands and shouted, "C'MON TEAM, HUSTLE! WE DROP IN TEN MINUTES!" Larore donned his Triumvir Bombsuit, slung his Irontech bomb bandolier over his shoulder, and sheathed his Tempered Triumvir Blade. Gured slipped on his camo flak jacket and demo helm and slung his Super Slug (sniper rifle, essentially a 2-handed Callahan with insane range) behind his back. Cleo inserted her fencing vest underneath her dress and wrapped up her Weaver. In five minutes, they were fully equipped and ready to go. They charged out the door, with Kazam leading the way.
They were buckled into their orbital insertion pod within another five minutes, and were given the signal to drop. Hot air rushed past the pod, testing the solid titanium reentry shell. The parachute deployed, but they still hit the ground hard. A little dizzy but unfazed, Kazam pulled the lever and blasted open the hatch.
Thus began their perilous journey through this strange new world.
Jari watched as the titanium drop pods' parachutes deployed, slowing their descent until they fell onto the ground of Haven. They had left him. It wasn't too much of a setback though, as he had his own ways of transporting down. At least now he wouldn't have those irritating guards stopping him. "Teleporter, Activate" he enunciated, and a holographic field appeared in front of him. He turned towards the storage compartment and pressed a shiny red button. Always a good sign. The two metal barriers slid away and Wirefury stomped out. "Does Bob get to play in grass?" it asked, an impish grin on its face. Jari smiled, "Soon Wirefury, Soon".
((What timezone is everybody in? I can't seem to catch any of you logged into the forums XD. Mine is GMT+8. By the way Thinslayer, is Arkus your character, or an NPC (non-player character) If he's an NPC, does that give me the right to take slight control of him? Because I will in this next post. If it's not allowed, tell me and I'll edit it out.))
Trivoc
In response to Trivoc's original question, the ex-Guardian laughed heartily. "The Core revived me and took out all that...bad stuff. No fun at all, but had to be done. Yessir, I'm the real deal. Need a hug?" He walked clumsily up to Trivoc and gave the smaller Knight a near hug, and lifted him in the air with surprising strength. As Arkus put him gently back down, Gwen seemed as if she was about to say something, but in the end she just burst out laughing.
Trivoc thought about something to say, but couldn't think of anything other than [The formerly corrupted, ex-Guardian Arkus, who was the first one chosen to look for Alpha Squad during the Core War, Just gave me a bear hug... Stop trying to make sense of anything anymore and just give in to the insanity of this day] Trivoc decided, which caused his eyes to go cheeky through the Silverhelm as he started laughing as well. Basil just scratched his head at the three Knights while Chappers slept soundly
After everyone had composed themselves, Arkus said, "I'm supposed to go down there and protect you and stuff. You okay with that?". Trivoc nodded "Yeah. Two Knights are better than one." Trivoc replied, still having a hard time believing that Arkus actually talked like that. Arkus laughed deeply once more. "And cheers to that!" He said as he put his arm around Trivoc and squeezed him in a fatherly way.
"Is there anything else we need to know, Gwen?" Trivoc asked as he turned back to the girl donning the White Rose set. Just as he felt a sudden, weak rumbling in the Clockworks. [Strange... I've never seen earthquakes happen around here before, unless... Oh no] Trivoc thought. There was only one thing that could make such a racket.
The landing of battle-pods of the Morai Planetary assault force. "Gwen, Arkus, I think the Morai are already here." He said ominously
Im in GMT +1 (sweden)
Serko was watching the squad from his corner... He had used his new armor and his recon cloak to go with the squad without them knowing... He would no doubt be useful when it comes to blowing up walls from the inside... When the battlepod oppened he waited until the squad had walked out then took a step into the sunlight, and took a deep breath. Mmmmm tasty air...
((The teleportation device thing was exclusive to Jari, and he kept it secret so no one else could use it. I don't see how Serko, who was irradiated could go all the way from the Morai battleship to the Clockworks, recon cloak or no recon cloak.))
He was sneaking into a battlepod while a squad was going to use that battlepod... And about being irradiated well im pretty sure morai's have tech to cure that a little bit faster than normal...
((Mine's GMT-7:00))
((@Azure-Orbit: Arkus is an NPC. As moderator, I consider myself responsible for the actions of NPCs, but won't complain too loudly if someone else controls them, as they aren't technically my characters. Since I've modified Arkus, however, I lean towards ownership of him. I don't mind your usage of him, since your writing seems to be pretty good.))
After they all had a good laugh, Trivoc asked, "Is there anything else we need to know, Gwen?" She thought for a moment. "Not that I know of." Just then, they heard what sounded like an earthquake rock the Clockworks. Trivoc looked at them ominously. "Gwen, Arkus, I think the Morai are already here."
Gwen just puffed on her pipe. "Let them come. Your mission is of far greater importance. But you must leave at once if you are to return before the Morai find us down here." She casually strolled to the main elevator. "I shall return shortly. If you return before I do, just wait here." She hit the "up" button, and disappeared into the elevator shaft.
Arkus sighed. "Just you 'n me, kid. Let's go."
((I thought you were talking about the Gwen, Trivoc and Arkus squad, not a battlepod squad))
((Serko doesn't need to sneak around on his own ship. If he has a squad, he should get into the squad insertion pod like everyone else. If he's a loner without a squad, he will have to get into an insertion pod with three other warriors. Each pod only has room for 4.))
((Also note that the medical crew wouldn't let Serko leave the ship before he was cleansed of radiation. I will assume that the procedure was complete (or nearly so) by the time the drop order came.))
((Morai don't use battlepods. That's a Gremlin technology.))
Kazam and team stepped out into the bright sunlight of Cradle. "Whoa, this is a beautiful planet," commented Larore. The rest of the squad had to agree. That is, until Kazam was tackled from behind by a leaping jelly cube. After a few moments of panicked gunfire, the slime lay splattered on the ground. Nine wolvers crept around the corner, snarling at them. More growling came from behind; when they turned around, they saw nine more wolvers. They were surrounded. The largest wolver howled, and the eighteen wolvers attacked simultaneously.
Gured shot at the lead wolver and missed. Three wolvers lunged at his throat, biting on his solid steel collar. He shook them off and tried to kick one, but it bit his boot when he tried. Larore wasn't faring any better; he'd thrown an Irontech into a pack of about seven wolvers, but they scattered, letting his bomb detonate harmlessly. He whacked at a pair of wolvers with his sword, missing one and scratching the other.
Kazam shot a wolver in the head with a slug shot and split another one in twain with his sword. Two wolvers tried to bite him, but he bashed them with his shield, sending them flying several meters away howling in pain. The Alpha wolver bit him in the leg and tackled him to the ground. Four wolvers took the opportunity to attack his face, which was covered by his helmet.
Cleo was faring the best; she'd managed to tear several wolvers into shreds with her Weaver while dodging and dancing gracefully around the pack.
After a grueling five minutes, they managed to dispatch the wolver pack. Everyone was beaten and sore, and nobody was feeling good about the battle, not even Cleo. They sat for a while nursing their wounds until Gured spotted a settlement in the distance. "Guys, look! That looks like a camp over there!" Larore and Cleo cheered at their good luck, but Kazam warned, "And whose do you think that is? Lemme give you idiots a hint: IT'S NOT OURS!!" The squad looked puzzled. "Not ours, chief? Then whose is it?" Kazam rolled his eyes. "Maybe it belongs...TO THE KNIGHTS??" The group looked down at their feet. There was an uncomfortable silence for nearly a minute. Kazam said softly, "We'll need to set up camp before nightfall. More warriors will be joining us soon, and they will need a place to stay. Gured, find us a large portion of defensible ground to settle on. Larore, you get the beacon set up. Cleo, you're with me. We need to find the rest of the army."
"Just you 'n me, kid. Let's go." Arkus said as Gwen left them.
Trivoc wasn't sure if staying down here was the right thing to do, but he was already here, so there was no turning back. "Alright, let's get moving then." He said. Arkus produced a Shadow Lair key and unlocked the "broken" elevator. As the chains fell off the elevator, the two of them climbed aboard and hit the descend button, which appeared to have cracks on it.
The cages lifted up, and they found themselves going into the corrupted half of the Firestorm Citadel, where a Shadow clone of Vanaduke reigned supreme. The elevator stopped, and the cages fell, leaving them to behold what stood before them.
The Firestorm Citadel looked a lot different when corrupted by The Swarm. It was more dark and shadowy, instead of burning and menacing. The traps activated as they stepped on the ground, spiked wheels threatening to crush whoever stood in their way as Carnavons patrolled the area, their cursed eyes unblinking.
Trivoc drew his Aegis, and Cold Iron Vanquisher as Arkus equipped his own weapons. The two of them charged into the death trap of a city.
"Go for the wheels! I'll take care of the Carnavons!" Trivoc ordered Arkus. The smaller Knight didn't feel like he was in any position to command the ex-Guardian, but with their current weapons, it seemed like the best idea at the time. The Carnavons moaned as the shuffled and leaped towards the duo. One, who was too slow, ended up getting run over by a wheel. Arkus made a break for the wheels as Trivoc dueled with the squad of Carnavons.
He swung his Vanquisher and sliced a Carnavon in half. Another tried to flank Trivoc, but he reacted quickly enough to reflect the enemy with his Aegis. Trivoc heard something rumble behind him, and looked just in time to see one of the wheels rolling towards him. He dives out of the way and lands in a prone position on the ground. He rolls over to put his back on the ground just as another Carnavon hops on top of him, pinning the Knight to the ground.
The undead creature attempts to slash at Trivoc's head with its cursed claws, but Trivoc leans his head out of the way as fast as he can, leaving only the Silverhelm to be slightly damaged with scratch marks. Once he had found a pattern, he tightened his grip on the Vanquisher, and struck the Carnavon pinning him to the ground, turning the creature into a pile of bones.
Trivoc pulls himself up, and notices that the wheels had already stopped. Arkus waited for him on the far side of the room. "You okay kid?" Arkus said. Trivoc simply nodded as the two of them entered the next chamber. Standing guard there was a Trojan Knightmare, two Cursed Deadnaughts, and another group of Carnavons. [I may have bitten off more than I can chew...] He thought to himself as the two charged into battle once more.
((In my opinion, there should probably be less enemies in Firestorm Citadel than there is in the actual game. Let's say, about half their numbers at most? It just seems unrealistic to cut through an army of enemies using only one Knight :/))
((Well, they *are* zombies. If they were intelligent foes, like Almirian Crusaders, I'd have no problem with that, but zombies are rather a different story. Slaughtering mass numbers of enemies is quite plausible if each of them is practically mindless.))
When Gwen reached the Arcade, she heard a great commotion outside. She stepped into the Town Square and saw the Morai mothership hovering overhead, firing laser blasts at Haven's defenses. She puffed her pipe and wandered over to the town commander. "What's going on?" The commander stopped shouting out orders and gave her a puzzled look. "Can't you tell!? We're being invaded!" Gwen nodded. "Yes, I can see that. Need any help?" The commander looked frustrated. "Get your arse to the front lines, woman! There's no time for chit-chat!" She smiled sweetly and patted him on the cheek. "You can calm down now, okay? Everything's going to be all right." The commander calmed down like he was told to, as if by magic. Gwen added, "Now you can think more clearly. Try using the Clockworks as a fortress. After all, that's what its original purpose was, correct?" The commander nodded, suddenly understanding the tactical advantages it offered.
Satisfied that all would be well, Gwen strolled along the walkway, puffing along as laser blasts hit the tough floor of the Clockworks entry (that would be Haven). She decided to invite the Morai commander out for dinner.
She equipped her modified Striker boost and flew up to the Al'truis.
((Mines at GMT +8, and boy was I surprised to see that block of writing appeared while I was away....)
Cleo was staring at the mirror with the tap still running, she soaked her face in the water for a while to calm her anxiety. After that she turned off the tap and exited the bathroom, Cleo then saluted her squad leader, Kazam and smiled at him faintly.
"Good morning, Cleo. Looking trim as always. Getting enough sleep?" Kazam greeted Cleo warmly and saluted back at her.
"Oh..... good morning captain Kazam...." Cleo replied softly, "I'm fine... Are you fine...?"
There was silence for a while, after around few minutes Kazam finally announced that it's time to move on.
"C'MON TEAM, HUSTLE! WE DROP IN TEN MINUTES!" Kazam shouted as the rest of the squads prepared, Cleo then inserted a fencing place under her dress in case there will be a situation where her action is needed for combat. [Today...] Cleo whispered to herself quietly as she wrapped her Weaver and hugged it tightly, she got into the pod and closed her eyes. [Today...]
As the pod launched, Cleo opened her eyes and could see the clear skies of Cradle. "Wow...." she giggled as she saw few snipes flying around in their flock, "This is... Cradle..."
BUMP, as what Cleo could hear as she fell to the ground. She opened the pod's door and touched the soft grass, it had been a while since she felt it... [Today...] she sighed and sat on the ground and touched the soft grass. Cleo looked up to see the bright sunlight which she shielded her eye from, she then looked around to see the beautiful nature of Cradle. "It is pretty...." she smiled, but something suddenly broke it.
[1...2...3...18... Oh a big puppy!] Cleo smiled as she saw few Wolvers, it was her first time seeing one and she just wanted to pet one! "I got a biscuit for you..." Cleo giggled as she took out part of her ration from her satchel, it attracted at least two Wolvers towards the girl. The beasts growled and attacked her, luckily Cleo was fast enough to dodge the attack and landed gracefully to the grass. [Oh?]
Cleo took a glimpse of her surrounding for the second time and saw the rest of the squads fending off the assault from Cradle's beast, this isn't the first time when Cleo sidetracked from her main objective. "Bad Wolvers! No biscuits for you!" she huffed and ate the biscuit, Cleo could finally notice what is going on. Living in the middle of the nature gave her few knowledge of knowing hostile creatures and ways to easily dispatch them, Cleo pulled her blade which quickly extended at her will. [Why must we fight?] Cleo frowned as she whipped the Wolvers and pulled them closer to her, she retracted the blade to it's original form and shredded the unfortunate creatures at an amazing speed. More Wolvers attacked her but Cleo was able to defeat them the way she did before, but this time in a much more elegant way.
After the intense 5 minute of battle ended, Cleo sheathed her blade and stared at the remains of the Wolvers. "Why...." she croaked as tears began to drop from her face, she tried to make the tears stop but it wouldn't. "Why do we have to kill puppies?" Cleo sobbed as she sat at the ground, "Why do we have to invade this peaceful planet?"
A member of her squad walked to her, "Save those tears for our victory." he huffed, "Things will get rough soon, you have to promise yourself to be strong."
Cleo could hardly see the knight through her tears, but she knew what he was trying to say. "Y-y-yes..." she sniffed as the tears finally stopped, she wiped her eyes and noticed something which didn't really blend with the environment...
"Look-look-look-look-look-look! It's a camp thing over there!" Cleo giggled as she pointed at a settlement in a distance.
"And whose do you think that is? Lemme give you idiots a hint: IT'S NOT OURS!!" Kazam warned the group, Cleo became silent and looked down in shame. [Is it an ally? or a foe?]
"Not ours, chief? Then whose is it?" a knight asked Kazam, who rolled his eyes and answered furiously. "Maybe it belongs...TO THE KNIGHTS??"
There was silence for a moment, but then Kazam spoke softly to the squad. "We'll need to set up camp before nightfall. More warriors will be joining us soon, and they will need a place to stay. Gured, find us a large portion of defensible ground to settle on. Larore, you get the beacon set up. Cleo, you're with me. We need to find the rest of the army."
[M.....me?] Cleo looked up as she heard her name, "Oh... okay then captain Kazam...." she answered and stood up from the grass.
[Maybe then, I can finally escape...]
((edited it in response!))
Jari squinted at the large orange orb floating in the sky, radiating sunlight. Bob was frolicking in a meadow, playing with some snipes, or "funny birds", as it called them. He turned his head to see a pillar of smoke in the distance floating up from a clearing in the forest. Sliding on his Knight Vision Goggles, he activated the zoom function and saw tiny figures sitting around a fire. The Rescue Camp. Jari could almost smell the burning logs when he was a mere Proto Knight, inquisitive and eager to explore the new planet known as Cradle. He slid off the backpack he was carrying and unzipped the top, taking out what appeared to be a snipe, except it was filled with a missile drone. It looked exactly like the helicopter birds that frequented Haven, because it was actually a dead one, hollowed out to make space for the missile drop mechanism. This particular model would fly over the Rescue Camp and drop the guided rocket onto the main control centre. If all went to plan, there would be no survivors. This was only a testing flight though. If it worked, then others would be sent to Haven, targeting the Bazaar, the Auction House, the Arcade elevators and the Garrison. Jari pressed a few buttons into a panel, setting the coordinates. The snipes eyes turned red, and it began to launch itself towards the Camp, mimicking the helicopter wings perfectly. Once it was directly over the Rescue Camp, he pressed a button on a remote and a small rocket fell from the drone's underside, and fell downwards at an alarming rate. Several recruits there noticed it and pointed towards the sky but it was too late.
Jari covered his ears, and the earth shook as a grey mushroom cloud went up from the remains.
((I'll leave Thinslayer to determine the damage, though I think that the whole place should be pretty much leveled. Keep in mind, that the Rescue Camp is not that important, and casualties are to be expected in a war. Obviously, Gor'kazam's squad are outside of the blast radius.))
((@Infernus-Dragneel: There are two notable problems with your addition to the story. First off, Cleo shouldn't call the commander "Gor." That's his childhood name, and while it's a part of his whole name, he doesn't like being called by it. Comment #62 explains that the squad only calls him "Gor" when they want to embarrass him. The second problem is that they didn't use parachutes - they all dropped together in an insertion pod, much like the Spiral Knights' escape pods. The pod, not its inhabitants, had a parachute.))
((There is a minor timeline problem between Kazam's greeting of Cleo and his 10-minute drop order. After Cleo responded to his greeting, everyone on the ship heard Captain Kyrto give the drop order over the intercom, including Kazam's squad. Kazam, in turn, figured out the details. I don't think I made this clear, which is my fault, but when the ETA for a drop order is not given, it is assumed to be in 10 minutes. Kazam just made it official. It's not a major problem, though, so I won't ask you to edit for it if you'd rather not.))
((Otherwise, you did pretty well. You seemed to grasp the timeline pretty well, and Cleo's character is a unique one.))
((@everyone else: the point of comment #62 was to capture the camaraderie between squad mates within the Morai ranks. They're not all cruel, evil people (though many are), and some of them are just like their counterpart Knights. The comment also tried to capture the excitement involved in an orbital insertion. I hope I succeeded.))
((Back to the story.))
A tremendous explosion hit the Rescue Camp. Several Morai squads in the area seized the advantage and rushed over there to kill something. But when the got there, they couldn't find any bodies.
Except one.
The Morai got together and decided to use the poor girl. They tied her up, and the Commissars interrogated her. When they'd finished with her, they left her to the Beserkers, who taunted, tortured, raped, and dissected her. The Commissars didn't get much information beyond the fact that she was the janitor for the Rescue Camp, but her dissection revealed that she had an integrated "mist tank" that distilled the atmospheric energy into crystalline energy. Nobody took the initiative to replicate it, however, as they were having far too much fun with her remains.
Meanwhile...
The Skylark finally reached the end of the solar wind, and found herself in peaceful space once again. They'd managed to repair the damage to the outer hull infliced by Serko's nuke using materials mined from a nearby asteroid.
Cradle was finally within sensor range now, but it would be another three days before they were in its orbit. As the technicians examined the sensors, they picked up a much smaller signal orbiting the planet. After some debate, the leaders decided that it was likely a Morai mothership, seeing as it was the reason for the distress signal they got nearly a week ago. Three days would be all they needed to finish up the repairs and check the weapon systems.
Vaelyn sat down for a soda. With all the repairs, drills, gear checks, and such, it had been a very long day for her. Barrus collapsed onto a chair beside her and ordered a soda of his own. They wordlessly acknowledged each other and gulped down their drinks before falling asleep where they sat. Guess now would be a very bad time to flirt with her, Barrus thought.
They awoke to the sounds of bottles and chairs crashing around the room. A couple of Proto noobs had started a bar fight. Barrus stumbled out of his chair, grabbed one of the noobs, and slugged him squarely in the nose. The knight staggered away and collapsed backwards over a previously invisible stool. The other noob tried to throw a chair at him, but Barrus grabbed it and strangled the noob against a wall with it before giving him a swift kick in the groin, promptly ending the fight.
Satisfied with himself, he wiped his hands and sat back down at the bar. Normally, Vaelyn would be horrified at his participation in the fight, but today she was just glad that she didn't have to arrest anybody, and offered Barrus as smile. They enjoyed singing, dancing, and soda-drinking for the rest of the cycle, and even Feron found himself caught up in it.
With a hard fight ahead of them, they needed every minute of cheer they could get.
Jari walked down the road through the Rescue Camp. He noticed Gor'kazam's squad hiding behind a hill. "Evening", he said, savouring the moment. The squad were too shocked to reply. Jari smiled. A recruit crawled along towards him, without his body below the waistline. "Help me", he croaked. Jari looked down at him, took out his Combat Defibrillator and turned on the shock function.
They could hear the recruit's screams from Haven.
Jari would have been annoyed at the dissectors for not leaving him the mist tank for study, but he had his own, after he ripped it out in an autopsy. The mist energy powered most of his prosthetic limbs, including the teleporter that he still didn't want the other Morai to find out about. He watched as Wirefury pounded the shacks to dust and wood. He decided it was time to have a little chat with Feron. Powering up his teleporter, he set the coordinates to the Skylark's current position and pressed the button.
((I'll assume that Thinslayer is in control of Feron, as he said that he would represent both the Morai and the Isorans.
((@Unstable-Ordinance: the recruit in question was 1) female, 2) completely torn apart, and 3) dead from the pain. There is only a mangled body, laying in the middle of the former Rescue Camp by the bonfire. I will pretend that Jari was using a second, previously undiscovered recruit.))
Kazam was a little stunned at seeing Jari here, who just strolled by and said "Evening." Suspicious, he told Cleo to covertly follow him and see what he was up to. Kazam had spotted smoke rising from the enemy camp, and deduced that it had been overrun, so he ordered the rest of his squad to accompany him there.
"Cleo, whatever you do, don't let Jari see you. I fear what he would do to you. When your mission is complete, you can find us at Rescue Camp." He thought for a moment. "On second thought, Gured? I want you to escort her." Gured saluted. "With pleasure, sir."
"Good. Get going, team." They parted ways, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
"Alert! Incoming transmission."
Ozlo was curious. "Open a channel." They heard Jari's voice on the line. He expressed a desire to speak to Feron. "I won't hear of it," said Ozlo. "You'll speak to me and no one else. What do you want?"
((Clarification: The one Jari killed was killed before any of the Morai swarmed in.))
"Hello Ozlo", Jari said into the mouthpiece, crawling through the ventilation pipes of the Skylark, "How are you doing? How's the Skylark? Is Feron doing well? Last time I saw him I had poisoned him. You do remember me don't you? Jari Steelclaw?". Jari peered down the grate. Feron was sitting below listening into the call at his desk. "Anyway, I don't want to speak to you, I want to talk to Feron, which won't be so hard as he's right below me". On that note, Jari closed the call and chuckled silently as Feron panicked, looking towards the ceiling as Jari dropped down behind him and cleared his throat. "Don't move or scream," Jari whispered, holding Feron's Valiance towards the owner's head, "Or I'll pull the trigger". Jari gestured towards the office door. "Lock it", he commanded, still holding the pistol towards the Lieutenant's head.
Since Serko didnt sneak into a droppod il let someone else decide what hes up to...
((I decided to skip some parts of the Shaodw Lair run to save me the trouble of writing about something I know little about >_<.
@Thinslayer: shouldn't we be calling the Proto Knights "Recruits" instead of "noobs"? We are, after all, pretending that this is real and not a game. Also, what's the status of the Knights' progress in establishing a foothold in The Clockworks?))
Trivoc
Trivoc and Arkus were locked in combat as they neared the end of the Ashen Armory. They fought against Trojan Knightmares, Red Rovers, and a large amount of Carnavons (and an even larger amount laid in pieces behind them). Trivoc dodges away from the Trojan Greatsword and goes for the crystal as his foe tried in vain to pull the sword out of the ground. As his Vanquisher pierced the crystal, the Knightmare turned to stone and fell to the floor. Arkus completely destroyed Five Carnavons in a single attack with his Sudaruska, sending their bones flying across the room. The Red Rover ttempted to protect its allies by laying down a barrier of flame, but Trivoc peppered it with his Argent Peacemaker, and soon the gun turret was no more.
Finally, the two of them reached the elevator. Trivoc fell into a sitting position inside of it. "Can you still continue?" Arkus asked. Trivoc nodded. "Yes, I just need to rest for a moment." He said. The mission was taking a toll on him; his arms and legs were beginning to hurt when he moved them, and his armor was full of scratch marks. Arkus nodded and hit the descend button.
During the descent Trivoc wondered what the situation was above him. [I wonder how the Knights are faring against the Morai attack... Why is this Echo Stone important to the protection of the core?] He thought, before deciding to ask Arkus.
"Arkus, do you know why we have to get this Echo Stone? Gwen was very secretive and never told me why it was so important." He told the Guardian. He hoped that Arkus may be able to answer at least one of the questions in his mind.
Faction: (Isoran, originally factionless.)
Name: (Burning-Dagoon)
Gender: (Female)
Appearance: ((Costume))(Determined Eyes, Tall, Amber, Heavenly Iron Armor, Heavy Stranger Hat, Heavy Scarf, Heavy Bomb Bandolier, Heavy Round Shades)
Arsenal: (Solid Cobalt Helment, Solid Cobalt Armor, Shield Bracelet,Hunting Blade, Antigua, Recon Module)
Bio: (Burning-Dagoon, or at least, that's her nickname. What others have over the years called her would be Altrian Dessomenes, Her father, who was very well known, was a Space Pirate.((Name, Thinslayer's Choice))At a Fairly young age, she was abandoned for punching the second in command's face. She was however, Given a few belongings to stay alive. Most of these belongings are now unusable from wear and tear.((Costume)) The only reason she has armor to use in combat anymore is because of a Spiral knight who passed by her abandoned planet, and gave her armor for protection.)
((Alright, let's see if we can get this to work. The whole Outlander thing, I know I shouldn't have gone to as that much, but we DO need a new faction by now. If my character Is not in use, I don't mind if other people take over my character.))
Cleo's eye began to water, she was shocked to see the settlements where many poor and innocent people's were killed. [Is this the right thing to do?] she thought to herself as she looked up at Kazam.
"Cleo, I'm putting you on a task to find out what Jari is up to." Kazam commanded Cleo.
"Huh?" Cleo perked in surprise, she didn't expected that she was told to do an espionage mission.
"Cleo, whatever you do, don't let Jari see you. I fear what he would do to you. When your mission is complete, you can find us at Rescue Camp." Kazam warned Cleo, [What will he do to me?] Cleo mumbled to herself and looked back at Kazam.
"On second thought, Gured? I want you to escort her." Kazam turned to Gured, who saluted at him and answered, "With pleasure, sir."
[Should I... Follow him?] Cleo wondered as she turned to Gured, who was ready to do his duty."Do you like some biscuits?" Cleo offered him some of her ration, "You must have been hungry!"
And that was when Cleo heard the scream of a Knight.
((At this point of the story, I don't know If new people will be accepted or will new characters, But I am still planning to do at least one part of a story arc.))
(Reverse time to #48) It was the break of dawn on her planet. getting up from her camp, she swore she could hear something off in the distance. "A pirate signal? no, must be my Imagination" she thought slowly as she got up. Ugh. I need to get some food for this stomachache. (#66) Hmm. Some ships going to that planet over there. Maybe I should check it out, but how though? (#75) Alright, makeshift catapult "The gravity is quite low on this planet." ((Because nobody likes a perfect character. . .)) Dagoon slowly got onto the catapult, and hit the lever, but of course, the string and wood snaps in such a way that she is set off course, and Dagoon screams out in anger as she is set in the wrong direction, left to die. "Well. . . [scrap]. my only hope is if I hit some space rubble and jump in the direction of THAT planet."
((I apologize for writing this before I was a confirmed character, but it CAN always be edited.))
((
Let's work out all the factions. First, there's the first faction, the Spiral Order. Euclid, a member of the Spiral Order, was said to have participated in the liberation of Isora from the Morai, making the Morai the second faction on our list and cementing Isora as the Knights' homeworld. Evidence suggests that the Morai hail from Ilsola, which appears to be more than just a misspelling of Isora, indicating the presence of a second major homeworld. The Gremlins created the Clockworks and are led by King Tinkinzar, making them the third faction. Since they hail from the Great Colony, I shall label their faction "Colonial."
Determining the allegiances of the other monsters and the Swarm, however, will be trickier. The Swarm is in direct opposition to the Core. It is suggested that King Tinkinzar was involved in the creation of the Swarm, but since the Swarm consumes everything, gremlins and monsters included, it cannot be subservient to the gremlins. It is believed (though unconfirmed) that Gremlins also take orders from the Core.
At this point, I will take some creative liberties. The Swarm influences the monsters of the Clockworks, but cannot directly control them without first infecting them. However, Swarm Seed can buff any monsters on top of it. This is sufficient justification to label the monsters as part of a fourth faction, the "Swarm Faction." Void monsters are also members of this faction. Since the gremlins seem to be conflicted between serving King Tinkinzar and the Core, and if the Emberlight gremlins no longer serve Tinkinzar, it follows that their only remaining commander is the Core. This makes the Emberlight gremlins and the Core into a fifth faction, which I will call the "Core Faction." Strangers are assumed to be members of the Core Faction.
Finally, Arkus tried to leave the Spiral Order. He did not attempt to join any other faction, nor did he make himself into his own faction. He would be the sole in-game justification for the presence of "Outlanders," but since it would be more accurate to call him "factionless," I cannot find any justification for a sixth faction.
@Liminori: If Burning-Dagoon is Isoran or Ilsolan, and if she lived on Cradle before the Morai arrived, then she must have arrived on the Skylark. Being on the Skylark means that she is Isoran and, therefore, Spiral by default. However, she has the option of leaving the Spiral Order, making her factionless. "Outlanders" would be far too few and rare to have been given such a label. No Outlanders, please.
Faction list for your convenience:
Spiral Order (Knight)
Triune Order (Morai)
Colonial (Gremlin)
Swarm Faction (Swarm, monster)
Core Faction (Stranger, Gremlin, Core)
@Liminori: your character is accepted, on condition that she is "factionless."
@Azure-Orbit: "Noob" is a derogatory description of a recruit "new" to Cradle.
The Spiral Knights have set up a very weak foothold in the Clockworks. They have secured 1) the levels surrounding Rescue Camp, 2) the Chasm, 3) Haven, 4) Moorcroft, 5) Emberlight, 6) Clockworks Terminals, 7) the Core Terminal, and 8) the levels surrounding the Grand Arsenal. Of these eight safe zones, only Rescue Camp, Haven, and the Grand Arsenal are fortified, and Rescue Camp was recently demolished, leaving Haven and the Grand Arsenal as the only remaining fortified sections of the Clockworks. Upon Gwenyvier's suggestion, they are presently fortifying the five other zones.
))
On board the Skylark...
"Don't move or scream, or I'll pull the trigger. Now lock the door," Jari commanded. Feron did not. In fact, he did quite the opposite, much to Jari's surprise. "SECURITY!!" Within moments, elite Spiral Justifiers had rushed into the room, all Callahans trained on Jari's head. They were crack shots, and could blow it off with pinpoint accuracy at a moment's notice. The lead Justifier declared, "Jari, you are under arrest. Drop your weapon, or prepare to die."
Back on Cradle...
Serko dropped with three other loners in an insertion pod. Upon landing, they all went their separate ways. Serko made his way to the former Rescue Camp, which was now controlled by the Morai.
With Trivoc & Arkus in UFSC...
"Arkus, do you know why we have to get this Echo Stone? Gwen was very secretive and never told me why it was so important." Arkus pondered the question, sifting through his memories for a clue. Then it dawned on him. "You know why they're called "echo stones?" Because they repeat or "echo" any messages recorded in them, kinda like Recon Modules. I reckon this stone has a very important secret message on it." He paused for a moment. "Since anyone can hear the echoes, it'll probably be in a foreign language so only Gwen can understand it."
The elevator set down in a large, open room, at the very end of which was a gigantic monstrosity named that called himself Lord Vanaduke. Before entering the battle, Arkus noted, "Perhaps the stone holds her memories. You suppose?" He shrugged, and shouldered his Perun (that's his shock troika).
With Cleo & Bod'Gured...
Cleo offered him a biscuit. "Thanks! Yeah, I am kinda famished." His meal was interrupted by a terrifying scream. "What the heck was that!? Do you suppose it's Jari's doing?" Either way, he was determined to find out what it was. He and Cleo began to travel in the direction of the sound, and soon began to hear the knight's wimpering.
With Gor'Kazam & Eq'Larore...
Kazam beckoned for Larore to come with him. "C'mon, Larore. We need to make sure that Spiral camp is secure." Just then, they both heard a terrifying scream. Kazam halted and listened intently, silencing Larore who was about to ask what it was. Kazam heard a very faint wimpering in the distance, and quietly went in the direction it came from. Larore didn't hear the wimpering, but followed anyways. Unfortunately, the wimpering stopped before Kazam could track it down, so he continued back towards Rescue Camp.
The first thing he noticed was the chatter. The warriors were all in a drunken stupor, telling wild stories and randomly starting fights with each other. The Commissars, too, were drunk. The next thing he noticed was a body. It was mangled beyond recognition, and covered in a stinky, slimy substance. The dirty helmet on the ground was identifiable as a Spiral Tailed Helm.
Larore plugged his ears. Kazam immediately drew his Heavy Slug, levelled it at the nearest Commissar's head, and promptly blew it off. There was now dead silence in the camp. Kazam screamed, "IS THERE NOT A SMIDGEN OF HONOR IN THIS WHOLE DARN ARMY!?!" He then blew off the head of a nearby warrior in a fit of rage. Several warriors wimpered. Kazam stopped screaming, and commanded, "Dig a hole. Now." He motioned for a Commissar to do so. Within a few very silent minutes, there was a hole in the ground big enough to fit an Isoran. "Look at the body." Several warriors glanced at it. "I SAID LOOK AT IT!!" Now the whole army was looking at it. Seeing it from a fresh perspective was enough to make many of them lose their lunches. "Now pick it up and pass it around." It was the most disgusting thing Kazam had ever seen, and it reeked of things not fit for description. Most of the warriors began to wretch again at the stench as each was forced to take the body in his arms.
When it had passed through the entire army, Kazam ordered it to be put in the hole. He found a large flat stone and said, "Now I want each of you to chisel out a letter in her obituary of my choosing." He wrote out an obituary and handed it to each participating warrior. By the time they were all done, it was early morning. Kazam placed the stone next to the grave and ordered it filled up.
Somehow, he had to instill in these warriors a sense of honor before the Skylark arrived, which would be in a few days. If he didn't, the knights would make mincemeat out of them like they did back on Isora. He did not want to see that repeated here on Cradle.
Jari continued to gesture towards the door, as Feron did nothing. Suddenly, Feron screamed, "SECURITY!!!". The door fell off its hinges as several Justifiers aimed their weapons at Jari. Jari remembered them well. They were the ones who sent him into the Clockworks. The one in front said, "Jari, you are under arrest. Drop your weapon, or prepare to die.".
Jari snarled, and shot Feron in the leg. Before any of the Justifiers could react, Jari also brought out a holoshield, creating a wall of blue energy blocking off Jari from the others. Now having the upper hand, Jari took a portable TV out of his pack, and dropped it on the floor. "Just a little farewell present." he teased, as he pressed the teleporter remote. By the time the Justifiers managed to tear down the holoshield, Jari was long gone.
Back down at the rescue camp, Jari brought out an identical TV and put it on the ground, turning it on. He turned it towards the remains of the rescue camp, now a Morai settlement. The screen flickered on, and Feron with several Justifiers were watching the screen intently. "Do you recognise this?" Jari taunted, pointing his hand towards the ex-Rescue Camp, and a Justifier shook his head. "This is, or rather was, the rescue camp. And this will be Haven too if Feron doesn't agree to my demands" Jari continued, pausing to let it sink in, "And this time, give me Feron, not Ozlo or some schmuck like him.".
Cleo and Gured went to search for the whereabouts of the whimpers, Cleo then noticed a knight lying in a pool of it's own blood.
"oh no!....Are you.... Hungry?" Cleo rushed over to the knight, who's half of his torso is gone. "Do you want a biscuit?" Cleo smiled and offered the whimpering knight the biscuit she was holding on before.
"It hurts...it hurts..." the knight whimpered.
"So... No biscuit?" Cleo sighed and ate the food, she suddenly realized that the knight, was in fact dying. "Oh... Do you need a plaster?"
"It was a knight... A knight... With an artificial... ." the knight muttered the words, and slowly it's eye flickered and the night have finally went to an eternal rest.
"What knight...? Are you asleep...? Do you need a pillow...?" Cleo asked the knight, she poked him but the knight didn't answered. "Well...goodnight then..."
Cleo looked up to see Gured, who wasnt happy at her actions. "Hello....Gured... Do you have any blanket...? The knight is going to catch a cold..." Cleo smiled at him.
The Justifiers reported Jari's threat to Haven to Ozlo. He wiped a large bead of sweat from his forehead. "We need to find out how Rescue Camp was destroyed. Do we have any units in the area who observed it?" A technician set up a link to the Rescue Camp log. After sifting through it: "Sir, one of the knights recorded something on the event before she was overrun by the Morai." "Read it." I was cleaning the floor when it happened. Ynack looked up at the sky and pointed at something, and when I looked at it, it looked like a snipe with red eyes. That was the last I saw of it; it dropped a bomb, and most of us were vaporized. I believe I am the only survivor of the blast. I hear the Morai coming now, so this will likely be my last log entry."
The bridge was silent. Ozlo finally found his words. "At least we know now what to look for. There are two things we need to do: first, arm the Justifiers with Graviton Charges so we can keep Jari from teleporting. Secondly, we need to beef up Haven's point defense systems and security. Inform the Haven units that they could be attacked by what looks like a snipe with red eyes. It will probably fly higher than most snipes. Since Jari probably doesn't know that we're onto him, he won't see any reason to change his means of carrying the explosive. We need to keep it that way."
Feron objected. "What if he still changes it anyways? Can we afford to risk Haven?" Ozlo thought for a bit. "We will take cover in the Clockworks. Jari cannot be allowed to win. All right Feron, I need you to speak with Jari. I will accompany you. We need to find out what Jari is demanding."
Then Ozlo had an idea. "What if...we bombed Rescue Camp ourselves?" Feron raised an eyebrow. "An interesting idea. What do you intend to to accomplish by it?" He winked. Ozlo grinned.
Feron sat beside the television Jari had placed, with Ozlo standing behind him. Feron spoke: "Okay, I will speak with you. Ozlo is here with me because policy demands it; and as you, of all people, should know, we always have a good reason for our policies." He fished out a piece of paper and pen. "Now, what exactly are you demanding?"
"A lady wishes an audience with your lordship."
Kyrto was busy organizing the buffs to the Al'truis' weapon systems. He glanced at the guard who spoke, and told him to bring her in. When she stepped onto the bridge, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared. She wore a brilliant set of White Rose Regalia, and her face had an unnaturally bright glow. Her delicate eyes were stunning, and the quality of her figure was without parallel. She was possibly the most beautiful thing they had ever set eyes on.
Kyrto bowed and kissed her hand. "We are honored by your presence. Who are you, and why are you here?" The lady laughed. "I'd like to invite you to dinner with me." Kyrto was quite stunned by her offer. "...wh-what? Who, m-me?" She chuckled. "Yes, you. I have a few propositions I'd like to discuss with you. Are you...free later today?" Kyrto replied hurriedly, "I'm free now, of course! Let us take a seat in the banquet hall, shall we?" She took his arm, and he led her to the fabulous banquet hall, which was unusually beautiful for a warship. Kyrto sat at the head of the table and seated the lady next to him. The ship's cooks served a meal of spaghetti and salad. "So, what is it you are proposing?"
"I am proposing!" Kyrto was confused at first, but soon got the joke, and the two of them laughed aloud at it. She then spoke more seriously. "The knights are my guardians, and Cradle is my kingdom. I won't ask you to stop fighting with my guardians, but I will ask that your soldiers tread carefully. There are things in this world that ought not to be touched or released, and I fear that the inexperienced Morai warriors will carelessly handle them. Can you offer me any assurance that such disasters will not occur?" Kyrto was curious now. "To what 'things' do you refer that shouldn't be handled carelessly?"
Gwen looked down at her plate. "Myself, for one." She twisted a little spaghetti on her fork. "The Swarm, for another."

Kyrto was still trying to find a landing spot he had an idea, but now one of the pilots came and interuppted him, it was one of the radio control men.
We've got contact with someone called Serko on an Isoran escape pod. Atleast some good news, Pick him up.
A few moments later Serko was aboard the ship.
So you nuked the skylark?
Only once, Hahn survived somehow and alerted them so i had to escape then the solarwinds brought me here...
Kyrto hated this day! First this audience with Jari and now all these bad news...
