Thrynn searched for the name of the person who just awoke once again, with her own head. . . Ikaros.
"Hey, Ikaros, psst. My name's Thrynn, but we need to hurry, we need to take a chance that jari will be too busy watching the battle to experiment on anybody. Because I have no hands, you'll have to untie the ropes. Do you see the person who was going to battle that guy with the dark sword? Well, believe it or not, that's actually Gwen. She's fallen."
Ikaros
A voice spoke in my head. She's fallen." I could barely believe the Drakon. I had heard of legends of the fallen Valkyries, but i thought them nothing more than that; legends, meant to scare little children. Yet here she was, Gwen, now a Fallen One. Quicker than lightning, i kicked out my guards' legs out from under them, pinned them both to the floor, and smothered them until their chests stopped moving. I glanced at my clothes and weapons, or rather lack thereof. I was still wearing my flannel shirt and skirt, and my weapons were gone. I'd have to make do with the Morai ones. I scooped up their swords and secured one on my back, leaving the other one in my hand. Noone had noticed me yet, so i crept stealthily towards this Thrynn and deftly cut his ropes. We were about to make our escape when I saw my brother. Tomoki lay in a motionless heap on the floor. I rushed towards him and felt a rush of relief when i saw he still had a pulse. I hauled up on my back and continued to creep through the hallways. I spotted my armor and weapons on a nearby rack and gratefully collected them. I felt relieved to not have to keep pulling my skirt down whenever the slightest breeze blew in.
I waved Thrynn over and spread my overly cramped wings. It might not be the courageous thing to do, but i had to get my brother medical attention. I floated up towards Haven and looked for a medic, only to find a scatter of dead bodies. A group of 50 Isorans huddled in a corner surrounded by Morai, probably the last of Haven's inhabitants. I sighed and nocked an arrow into Artemis. Convenient how all three hundred Morai were in a cluster. It would take only one shot to kill them all.
____
Axis noticed the prisoner breach. "well I'll just leave you gents like this." "Remember, keep it clean!" he said in a sarcastic tone. He rushed after the other Valkyrie. After a brief stop she kept running. Until they got to haven, she was about to notch an arrow. Axis pulled out his Venom Destroyer and fired 4 times, 3 hit the valkyrie in the back, the other took down the battle sprite. They all crumpled immediately. He then proceeded to put a poison canister right by the group. "Sweet dreams." He then walked back to the elevator, he didn't want to miss the fight that was about to happen. But when he arrived....
((I've been at work all day, and only got to reply once during lunch. Things have gotten much more interesting in my brief absence.))
((A couple notes: italics without quotes are the character's thought. Italics with quotes are words spoken in an unusual way, e.g., hollow or echo-like, such as when Gwen utters an elemental ability. I sometimes use it to preface a temporal or locational change, too.))
((There's been so much activity that I can only focus on one character at the moment. I'm not ignoring anybody; I'm just going to take it easy for a little while.))
((@Unstable-Ordinance: mind if I take a creative liberty with Jari for a moment?))
Gwen's eyes are closed until otherwise noted.
Gwen opened her ears and listened. "Fetch the power readers," said a familiar voice. She felt a pair of wires attached to her temples, and deduced what they were about to do. She startled Jari by speaking to him, "No need to drain or sedate me, Jari. I will not resist or complain. I am as curious about my own biology as you are. I want to watch you work." Jari was taken aback by this, and decided not to sedate or drain her. "Interesting..." he said, lost in thought. "Strap her to the surgery desk. I want to examine her scar, in depth."
At that moment, there was a scuffle, and she heard Jari complain. A voice from the past spoke to him: "I've long awaited for a worthy adversary such as her. So, here's the deal:" Gwen was unbound and hauled to her feet, "if you can beat me in single combat, Jari will let you go. But if I best you, Steelclaw has full permission to do whatever twisted things he wants to your body." He chuckled. "Not that there will be much left to experiment on."
Gwen resisted the urge to smile.
A battle sprite said something she couldn't make out, but the male Valkyrie responded, "What the heck are you talking about? I don't remember you. But then again, does a royal jelly remember the miniscule mini jelly? Ha! Didn't think so. Now shut up and watch as I kill this Valkyrie. Should be entertaining before Jari scraps both of you. En garde, beautiful," he said as he pointed the tip of his blade at Gwen's neck.
lol really?
There was gunfire, and the blade briefly left her neck as another scuffle took place. Then it returned to its position. "Now, where were we?" He paused, and addressed another entity in the room. "Well well! It's been a while, Thrynn. Maybe you're not an insect after all. A wounded wolver should do it. Strong enough to survive, but still of no importance to the pack. Yes, that is a fitting analogy. Now, there had better be no more interruptions, or I'll just finish you off right now and leave Jari to his experiments."
You wish, weakling.
Addressing another person in the room, Kirito said, "Just in time to watch the fun. How are you, Axis?" Kirito grunted as he was interrupted again, and the blade again left her neck. "Oh no you don't. You already have the Queen Valkyrie; let me have this one." He sighed and poked her. "Hey, we gonna fight or what?"
Gwen was growing impatient, and decided to settle things. She chuckled at first, then laughed loud and hard. When she caught her breath again, she opened her eyes, and Kirito collapsed to the floor, his body feeling crushed by an unseen force. His breath left him, and his mind twisted itself into knots. "I am the Fallen Queen of the Valkyries. Mind and shadow are under my thumb. You are truly a weakling, Kirito. You are nothing compared to me. I can't decide whether to be amused or insulted that you consider yourself my equal." She stepped on his head, and at first he felt as if he were in ecstasy, and a moment later felt intense pain. His mind was being manipulated. "You are no match for me. I will allow Jari to continue his experiments on me. I don't mind, really."
She removed her foot from his head, and allowed him to get up. "Why am I called 'Queen?' Is it just a title, a mere trifle of a monarchical government? Is it a futile attempt at vanity, such as young women often do? Don't deceive yourself, Kirito. Do you not remember me? I was the leader of the Great Council, and Queen over all the Dominion. If I remember correctly, you ruled over...what was it called...Sol'Fork? You fancied yourself King over it. How cute. But now you're just irritating. Get out of my sight." With that, she kicked him in the stomach and sent him flying onto the elevator, which activated and carried him to the surface.
Turning her attention to Jari, she laid back down on the surgery table. "Now, where were we?"
"What the....?" Axis was shocked, one of the Morai's greatest fighters, eliminated. Just like that. He walked over to Jari, you got this under control? The Fallen one looked at him with a maniacal stare. "And I thought Kirito was scary." He thought. "What did I get myself into?" "Even the twins back off from this...MONSTER." He thought. "And Jari, I NEED an explanation on what happened in the SL with me."
(Anubis)
I stand silently in the corner of their labratory room. "I thank any gods out there that she is only a vessel. She can revive herself if necessary." I glare at Gwen, "All that has Fallen cannot be exalted once more simply because it's Fallen. That was Seatus' message to you. MY message, if you will listen, I could've handled Kirito. Especially when I am one with Seatus." I gesture to the transparency around me. "Get the experiments over with, I don't think I care anymore." I sit in mid air as if its solid, and just watch. Let the darkness enter my mind, all of these beings are damned anyways.....
Gwen stared at Anubis, trying remember why he looked familiar. Then it dawned on her.
He was a servant of Seatus. She had called to him for help. She bowed her head in shame.
"I'm sorry, Anubis. Look at me! Look at what I've become! I'm a monster, a fiend above all fiends. I do not deserve to live. Slay me, and let there be some measure justice in this world."
(Anubis)
"It's not so much as justice as a fatal mistake you made by trying to rid Seatus of his...faults. You've done nothing wrong. Plus, I know you can just create another vessel for yourself," and then I panic, grabbing my sword and shooting Curses at everyone, pinning them to the walls, "Wait, you can, can't you?!"
((What depth is Gwen, Kirito, Ikaros, Thrynn, and Jari on again?))
Trivoc
The Defender awoke sometime later, he was still indeed in the Clokcwork Terminal. [I guess those Morai didn't think it was worth their time to take me prisoner] Trivoc thought. He noticed a used Health Capsule cllose to them, along with traces of the powdery, medical formula in their mouths. The same thing could be said for Chappers, but he was still unconscious. [Who helped us?] Trivoc wondered.
He then noticed the Wolver pup from before, sleeping on the floor right next to them. there were also some traces of the powder in the creature's mouth. [Saved by a Clockwork denizen again... Who would've thought?]
He tried to wake the sleeping Wolver up, but he didn't seem to budge. Trivoc sniffed it's mouth, and aside from Wolver breath, he also smelled the same foul poison that he had succumbed to earlier. [Uh oh, I better help this little guy] He thought as he searched his inventory for anything useful. [Nothing... Fantastic]
He checked the Terminal and tried to see if he could find Basil; the guy was always carrying around capsules and vita-pods. Unfortunately, he was nowhere to be found. Trivoc assumed that The Stranger must have escaped when the fight broke out.
His only option now was the dead Morai.
Trivoc checked the body; it appeared to have wounds in the groin, and the throat. Both of which seemed to have been caused by sharp teeth. [I guess that pup's got more bite than bark]. He began looting the warrior's inventory. [extra magazines, his sword, comm unit, some sort of chip... Aha! a Remedy Capsule!]
He took the item and approached the Wolver pup. He popped open the capsule, and took the Wolver pup's head in his hands. He felt the furry texture as he poured the blue-green powder down the creature's mouth. He decided to use only a half-dosage, since they were much smaller than Knights and Morai. If he was still sick, Trivoc would use the full dose.
Meanwhile, he decided to rest. The Health Capsule the Wolver had given them, hadn't taken full effect yet, and he still felt some pain when he moved. He leaned on the wall of the Terminal, keeping an eye on the pup.
---
Soon enough, the Wolver pup also awakened, he yipped at the sight of the Knights now awake. Trivoc approached the pup and patted it's head. "Good work, boy." He said. The Wolver pup woofed in assent, and licked his hands. Chappers was already coming to, rubbing his chest. "Ow... Wha- Where'd the Morai go?" He asked. "Haven, most likely. There's sure to be a battle breaking out there by now. In fact, who's to say that it isn't already over." Trivoc replied. "Then, shouldn't we follow them?" Chappers said, a little scared to be back into combat so soon. "No, we're still licking our wounds." Trivoc answered, looking at the little Wolver. "We wouldn't be of much use in a fight." He continued.
Arkus had also finally awakened. He quickly pulled out his Perun and looked around. "Where is that Morai?!" He asked frantically. "He's long gone Arkus. Are you feeling better?" Trivoc replied. Arkus sheathed his sword and spoke. "I think whatever he did to me is still inside of me. But I'll live, if that's any compensation, heh." Arkus said. Trivoc was a little concerned for the Guardian's health, but he was no medical expert, and he'd probably make things worse if he tried to do anything.
"Ok, what's the next order of business?" Trivoc said. Chappers and Arkus approached him. "Our next priority is to find that Morai Captain and make sure that he doesn't do any irreversible damage. If he releases the Swarm, there's no telling what will happen to Gwen. Or everyone else on this planet." Arkus told them. "B-But, how do we find him?" Chappers added.
Trivoc answered the question. "We head for Haven. If there's any trace of them, we'll find it there. But, we need to stay out of the battle if we can help it. None of us are in any condition to fight." He told them. The two nodded, and the went to the elevator. The Wolver pup followed them. Chappers tried to pick it up again, but it growled at the Cobalt Knight, which was enough of a message for him to not touch the pup.
Arkus hit the ascend button, and the elevator began heading up.
---
As they ascended, they noticed the entrance of a Gremlin warehouse, full of dead Gremlins. "Someone's been here recently." Trivoc said as he hit the stop button. There was good reason to investigate this area, since most of the Knights are top-side, only Morai had taken refuge in The Clockworks.
If they were lucky, it would be The Swarm-infected Morai captain that had been through here. "Stay quiet, there might be hostiles nearby." Trivoc told them. They nodded, while the Wolver pup barked.
The four of them stepped off the elevator and moved deeper into the warehouse.
---
It wasn't long before they encountered resistance. A Morai standing guard in a hallway of the warehouse. The Isorans were standing just around the corner, on the opposite end of the hallway. "There must be something important nearby." Arkus whispered. Trivoc nodded and drew his Cold Iron Vanquisher. They couldn't risk the man alerting the rest of the Morai (if there were any). Trivoc swung at the wall, making it vibrate, and producing a low sound.
The warrior walked forward to investigate, while the trio (and the pup) waited silently. The moment the warrior turned the corner, Arkus smashed his face the butt of his Perun. The Morai was asleep instantaneously. "That was easy." Arkus commented. Trivoc aimed his Vanquisher at the neck of the warrior. It would be gruesome, but they had to make sure that he didn't alert anyone.
[Rest in peace warrior... May our souls encounter as friends in the afterlife] Trivoc thought, as a silent prayer, before bringing the tip of the large blade down on the warrior's neck.
Chappers turned away, but Arkus seemed quite indifferent, resting his Perun on his shoulder. The Wolver pup, on the other hand, tried to bite it to see if it was still alive.
"Let's keep moving." Trivoc announced.
---
Eventually, the squad reached the heart of the warehouse. The moment they saw what was there, they immediately hid behind one of the walls.
A Fallen, looking to do battle with Anubis. Gwen, looking corrupted. The Swarm-infected captain, with his squad. And Jari Steelclaw, surrounded by Morai guards, with an armor-less Ikaros in his possession, along with a battle sprite.
"We have to do something." Trivoc whispered. "We have to wait for now. Once an opportunity presents itself, we strike." Arkus answered quietly. Trivoc's eyes turned angry. He wanted to jump in now, but Arkus was right. Getting themselves killed wouldn't help anyone.
While waiting, Trivoc loaded his Argent Peacemaker, Chappers did the same with his Pepperbox. The Defender then turned to the Wolver pup and spoke quietly. "Stay here. And don't make a sound" He said as the three began moving silently to some steel crates closer to the hostiles.
As they peeked out from behind their cover, they noticed that Ikaros suddenly escaped, running for her armor, and then flying upward with Axis giving chase. [Good, she should be able to handle herself...] Trivoc thought.
Now their only concern was... Gwen?
Before the Snarbolax's [What was his name?... Seatus right? So this guy is Anubis] warrior could fight against, what appeared to be a Fallen King Valkyrie. Gwen suddenly moved fast and decked the Male Valkyrie as if he was nothing more than an annoying Chromalisk.
"I am the Fallen Queen of the Valkyries. Mind and shadow are under my thumb. You are truly a weakling, Kirito. You are nothing compared to me. I can't decide whether to be amused or insulted that you consider yourself my equal." She said as she kicked the King Valkyrie into the elevator, which also sent it heading upwards.
[Woah... She's gotten really scary.] Trivoc thought.
The three of them were surprised however when Gwen told Jari to continue with his experiments. Anubis however intervened, and tried to reason with Gwen.
Suddenly, the Snarbolax's warrior started shooting curses at everyone in the room. "Get down!" Trivoc ordered as the 3 of them hit the ground behind the crates, shielding them from the Curse attack.
They decided to blow their cover and stood up. They looked around to see if there were any Morai who weren't hit by the Curse. But everyone seemed to be pinned to the wall, except for them of course.
Trivoc and Arkus approached Gwen while Chappers kept an eye on the Cursed Morai with his Pepperbox. "Gwen, are you okay?" Arkus asked. Trivoc looked around, standing guard over the Guardian, Anubis, and The Fallen Valkyrie Queen
((Let me edit my IC post. I was working on it when you all posted your IC. Meaning I'm way behind! XD))
Thrynn watched as Ikaros silently knocked out the two guards nearest her and picked up a few of their weapons, using one to cut Thrynn's ropes. She spotted her equipment nearby and motioned for Thrynn to follow. Thankfully, Drakon have wings so, he was able to follow her up the elevator.
Ikaros slowly knocked back an arrow that was aimed for the 300 Morai surrounding the 50 or so few knights left.
When it was already too late, he saw poison arrows flying by towards Ikaros, he tried to jump by and block some of the arrows, but he could only get one.
Thankfully, the poison hadn't spread immediately. Thrynn fell underneath Ikaros, and jammed his mouth and tail into the wall, causing them to come to a relevant stop. Thrynn was weakening from the poison, slowly, but surely. . . "Axis. . . You're an assh-ghk*ole." Thump* ((Ignoring the poison capsule because we're FLYING))
Lim, the poison from the Destroyer is close to fatal.
Cough EDITPOWAH
Edit: Azure, you're a bit late, Are you reversing time a bit for your posts?
((There, my post should now be in the same timeline as everyone else's XD))
Axis grinned. "So it's finally over huh?" He asked. He let out a sigh of resentment. It was obvious what would happen, he and his squad along with Jari back to Spiral HQ. The battle did still rage on throughout haven, but it was a matter of time before the knights brought out the Skylark again and ravaged The Morai again. "Well then are we going to be Carted over to your HQ?" Axis asked, bitter with his voice.
((I was wondering when I can enter the rp. Any suggestions would be great.))
"She no longer believes in her true abilities anymore, Trivoc. I suggest you step three feet back or get pinned to a wall twenty feet back." making sure he complies by pushing him back a couple feet, I regain my position in the air. "Valkyries, as you know, are somewhat like the 'angels' our..or as I am starting to suspect, YOUR kinds' planet. Don't mistake Purity and Divinity for difference in these creatures though, their power can go either way. Gwen is probably the most powerful, seeing as she is the Core and a Valkyrie is the only being strong enough to house such a spirit. WAIT, so if I can house Seatus' spirit that must mean-" I am cut off by a rumble from above. "I forgot, the Blue Sapphire Gate! I will be right back, don't let Gwen get away!" I disappear into a shadow quickly, and reappear in front of a massive column of Swarm.
"You are NOT hurting these Knights, Master. This should be a GREAT turn in your dream"((everything that the Swarm does is part of the Master's dream, so he can will it to do most anything.)) I raise my sword above my head, and whisper the words Patrick told me were written on my blanket long ago, "This, I give to you, is your birthright. Once you can use it, will be forty-four years from this night. Don't be ashamed, of what you truly are, so let there be darkness, cast by a star."I scream the words out, trying to draw power from them. My sword transforms into a scythe, and I feel my skin and clothes turn to darkness, my only light shining from my eyes. I charge my scythe, and destroy((Send it back to the Swarm Territory)) the column with a swing, and it retreats into the ground. Satisfied, I disappear to meet with the others.
He could feel..THEM. They needed someone else to inhabit since their only familiar was just destroyed, but the question was who would it choose, the most likely would be either him, or the queen, since they already were tainted, or it could choose someone else....
((Gzilla, are you implying that Chappers should be infected? He is, after all, half-infected >:). If that's not the case, then I'll edit this out. ))
Chappers
"So it's finally over huh? Well then are we going to be Carted over to your HQ?" The captain asked Chappers. The Cobalt Knight wasn't sure how to answer. "Well... You're going to be put on trial first, I suppose. Then the Spiral Order will decide what happens. And... Hey! Are you still listening, sir?" Chappers said as the Morai captain passed out.
Suddenly, a pain overtook Chappers. The scar he had gotten from the Unknown Passage from before started growing wider. "AARRGG!" He shouted as he fell to the floor.
"His mind is weak. He will succumb easily..." A voice in his head said.
Chappers stood back up, but he was a totally different person now.
Trivoc
"She no longer believes in her true abilities anymore, Trivoc. I suggest you step three feet back or get pinned to a wall twenty feet back." He then proceeded to push Arkus and Trivoc far back.
WAIT, so if I can house Seatus' spirit that must mean- I forgot, the Blue Sapphire Gate! I will be right back, don't let Gwen get away!" Anubis said before disappearing.
Arkus went to Gwen and spoke. "Alright, you heard Anubis. We have to stay here. Hey! Stay with me alright. We'll find a way to help you." He said, noticing Gwen's somber face.
Their conversation was cut short by a bloodcurdling scream. Arkus and Trivoc turned to the source, and saw Chappers lying on the ground, writhing in pain. "Help..." He squeaked before his eyes went flat.
"What happened to him?!" Arkus asked. Trivoc didn't know either. but he had a feeling that their problems weren't over.
Chappers eyes reactivated, this time showing an angry look. He stood up and grabbed his dropped Pepperbox. He spoke in his own voice, but it was all distorted, and had an echo-like quality. "You dare to call yourself my comrades? The Knights left me behind when they thought I was liability, and perhaps I was... But no matter, I am stronger now. And I will show you what happens to those who underestimate me!" He shouted as he fired a 12-round magazine towards Trivoc and Arkus.
Trivoc leaped out of the way, but Arkus took the bullets that were heading for him with his Crest of Almire. "We have to take him down!" Trivoc said. Arkus nodded. "Gwen, if you feel like you're up for it, we could use a hand." Arkus told the Fallen Queen Valkyrie who was still unresponsive.
((Tell me guys, was it a good idea for me to make Chappers become possessed?))
I appear, and the scene I find before me is, in fact, disturbing. The Knight known as Chappers is now possessed, and I see it to be that I should seriously get this guy to Sanctuary. I use Seatus' speed, and with two cuts, I am standing behind Chappers with a cut on his shoulder leaking out Swarm. I hit him in the back of the head with the flat of my blade, hoping to knock him out...and quickly backflip seven feet away, turning my scythe into dual Sentenzas and pointing them at Chappers, going into Execute Mode.
*Third Person*
A skull symbol appears in front of Anubis' Sentenzas, the two charges acting as two black eyes for the skull. Wind flies around Anubis, flinging his coat hither and thither.
-.-" *hasn't given up, but is completely not caring anymore what happens, Anubis is going into destruction mode*
((Yeah I am putting Anubis into stasis...try what you will, he isn't coming out >.>))
(Anubis)
I leave, and appear in a Candlestick Keep. I wave, and let all the Kats and Grimalkins bite at me, opening wounds and ruining my clothes. I walk to the end of the hall, and float up, turning into a bubble of black energy. I sleep, and it os here I will remain until something requires my presence. I must remind myself...they are going to figure everything out just fine
As always.
((@Seatus: Anubis has the ability to bring Gwen back to her former state, but is likely unaware of his power.))
((@Azure-Orbit: It's fine for Chappers to be possessed. Twists in the story are fun!))
Anubis tried to convince Gwen that letting Jari experiment on her wasn't a good idea. Suddenly, he started shooting curses at everyone in the room. "Get down!" Trivoc ordered as the 3 of them hit the ground behind the crates, shielding them from the curse attacks. Gwen darted behind a wall and drew her flameberge. Trivoc stood up to check for uncursed Morai, but everyone was pinned to the wall. Arkus asked, "Gwen, are you okay?" But she shook her head and groaned. Trivoc briefy ducked behind the crates as bullets whizzed overhead.
Oh, Anubis. Not you too!
Anubis began to speak. "She no longer believes in her true abilities anymore, Trivoc. I suggest you step three feet back or get pinned to a wall twenty feet back." He then proceeded to push Arkus and Trivoc far back, as if the crates weren't even there.
"Valkyries, as you know, are somewhat like the 'angels' from our - or should I say, *your* - planet. Don't think they are any purer or more divine than we are, though - their power can go in either direction. Gwen is probably the most powerful of them all, seeing as she is the Core, and a Valkyrie is the only being strong enough to house such a spirit. WAIT, so if I can house Seatus' spirit that must mean- I forgot, the Blue Sapphire Gate! I will be right back, don't let Gwen get away!" Anubis said before disappearing.
They then herd a bloodcurdling screech coming from Chappers. Startled, Gwen darted to his side and examined him. He squeaked "Help!..." before his eyes briefly vanished. Arkus was wondering aloud what happened to him when Chappers eyes reactivated, this time showing an angry look. He stood up and grabbed his dropped Pepperbox. He spoke in his own voice, but it was all distorted, and had an echo-like quality. "You dare to call yourself my comrades? The Knights left me behind when they thought I was liability, and perhaps I was! But no matter; I am stronger now.
"Gwen, if you feel like you're up for it, we could use a hand," Arkus said to the Fallen Queen. She groaned and nodded wordlessly as she drew her flameberge and charged it up.
Chappers fired at Gwen, with a few hitting their mark, but striking her shield bubble. Once he began the reload, she unleashed her charge on him, knocking him down flat. She brought her boot to his right wrist and pushed, causing him to shriek in pain and let go of his Pepperbox. She raised her flameberge. "Gwen, DON'T!!" Arkus shouted. But Gwen ignored him, and pierced him through his head. Chappers immediately fell silent. She took her boot of his wrist, sheathed her sword, and knelt beside him.
Arkus shed bitter tears, thinking that Gwen had become a completely different person. The woman who had revived him and who had shown him such kindness no longer existed, and in her place was a monster of unimaginable strength.
But to his surprise, Chappers sat up. The Swarm infection was gone, and his head was healed. He looked around and cried out with delight. But Gwen didn't look nearly as happy as Chappers. She seemed completely lost in thought.
Two knights dressed in full Chaos entered the level ((depth 3)). Gwen's eyes seemed to light up for a moment, but they quickly returned to a pained expression. She then spoke. "You! What are you doing here, Theo? I thought you wanted nothing to do with me."
Axis soon found that the curse had worn down after all that mayhem, same with the twins. But after seeing what the knights had done to a swarm infested knight he found that his chance were slim with the fallen still there. Those two knights approaching didn't help his nerve. He looked straight at the Fallen. "I want answers, ever since that run through of that passage, somethings different." "I---I need to know." For the first time in his career as a Morai Enforcer Axis showed fear to the enemy. "I've exposed my weakness..." he thought it's all over, and i doubt they'll even answer me.......
Trivoc
Trivoc had drew his Argent Peacemaker, and prepared to open fire on the legs of his former ally, but Gwen beat him to the punch.
The Fallen Queen Valkyrie absorbed all of the hits shot by Chappers' Pepperbox, and knocked the Cobalt Knight flat on the ground. She then proceeded to disarm Chappers by, seemingly breaking his wrist against her boot. Chappers shrieked in pain, but eventually let go of the weapon. Trivoc thought the fight was over, so he was unable to hide his surprise when Gwen lifted her Flamberge, and skewered it right into Chappers' head.
"No!" Trivoc exclaimed, but the deed was done. Trivoc simply watched in bewilderment as Gwen kneeled next to Chappers. And to an even greater surprise, Chappers stood back up. "Oh, thank you so much! I was having the worst nightmare of my life." Chappers said as he stood back up, with a whole head.
An elevator arrived, carrying two Knights in chaos armor. Gwen appeared to know them and addressed one of them in particular with a bitter tone.
"I want answers, ever since that run through of that passage, somethings different. I---I need to know." The Morai captain said desperately. Arkus approached him and explained.
"What you went through was an Unknown Passage, an area completely, or almost-completely taken over by The Swarm. The creatures that reside there are no longer what they once were. They are nothing more than puppets controlled by The Swarm. They are much stronger and more ruthless than they were before the infection. Those who are wounded by these puppets, or "void creatures" as we call them, become susceptible to Swarm-infection. the Swarm infection you went through was mild, because The Swarm knew that it needed you mostly sane, in order to manipulate the Morai. When it decided that you had outlived your purpose, or were about to perish, it moved to a new host, which was Chappers. The infection he went through was severe, with The Swarm completely taking over his physical and mental faculties." He said.
"At best, he can only remember fragments of what happened while he was possessed. You ought to consider yourself lucky that the infection was mild. while you may believe that you had control over yourself while you were infected, you didn't. The Swarm is a master of manipulation just as much as it is a master of darkness." Arkus continued.
"When Gwen defeated Chappers, The Swarm was kicked out. but not defeated. It will rest, and then locate a new host." Arkus finished.
Trivoc on the other hand went to fetch the Wolver pup. It seemed to be alright, and it followed his orders to stay put. "Good boy." He said as the puppy followed him to the group. Trivoc wondered what other insane situation they'd get into.
Third Person Mode
The Swarm floats away from Chappers. This is no longer a safe habitat for itself. It must find power. It blinks out, and appear in a dark Candlestick Keep. It takes the shape of a Wolver, Swarm falling off of it as it struggles without a host. Blood. Lots of it. It sniffs at the ground, following a path bathed in red. A soul resides ahead. It hurries over to find an encasing at the end of the hall. It lays it's paw against it, and melts in.
"Why are you here?" the Swarm asks the boy, whom is curled up, sleeping.
I am here because I belong nowhere, no matter who I am surrounded by.
"Would you like power?" the Swarm asks, licking its maw.
Would it help me get noticed? Will I be able to have friends?
"Oh yes...yes. I would gladly be your first friend. People don't seem to like me either. They don't acknowledge my existence very often," it lied, hoping the child wouldn't notice.
Anubis was too happy to detect the lie in the Swarm's words, A friend? I would love a friend!
"Perfect," the Wolver answers back, "And with power, you can get more friends. Just take my paw."
*A scream pierces the halls of the Keep, disturbing the Undead and the Kats, but none too caring to investigate.*
A form melt from the floating chamber. A Swarmy version of Anubis comes out, with an extra pair of arms and a skull for a head. A pair of long, Swarmy wings stretch out, and fly into the air, leaving a frailer form of Anubis in the sphere.
He found that this time he didn't drift into unconsciousness, he was dragged. "YOU WILL OBEY." The swarm commanded. His head started to hurt. "Gather the twins and escape now." His entire body surged with red lines, and then an inky back explosion burst. All he saw next was the twins escaping with him. Back to Haven, back to greet the incoming horror.
Arkus was rather conflicted in his opinion of Gwen. On the one hand, she had taken her aggression to a whole new level, and could kill and taunt without batting an eyelid. But on the other hand, he knew she still had a kind heart left in her. She always seemed exhausted, and didn't like being talked to. Arkus wanted to talk to her about her condition, but he didn't want to anger her.
Whoa. He actually had to say that to himself - avoid angering Gwen. That was new to him. She never angered easily, and rarely acted suddenly. But this Gwen was unpredictable.
But the most difficult thing for Arkus to bear was that he knew that Gwen was aware of her own condition. She knew she had changed, and that nearly drove her to suicide. The only thing keeping her alive was her undying love for her friends. She never lost that. He could see it in how she treated Chappers; she didn't kill him for his infection, but took the trouble to heal him, knowing full well that she would never be thanked for it.
So much had changed in so little time. And it was only yesterday she was puffing her pipe and telling him stories about Ilsola...
He broke his reverie when Axis marched up to him and demanded answers about the Swarm.
After he finished explaining, Gwen surprised him by speaking up. "The Swarm is not evil. It is a living creature, yearning to breathe free like any other. It doesn't know how much harm it is causing, nor does it yet care. Once upon a time, the Valkyries tried to destroy it, and failed miserably. The two battled each other, each never understanding the other and parting ways in bitterness. It should not be destroyed; rather, it should be taught what is right."
She rubbed her eyes and stood up, waiting for someone to take the lead. She no longer knew what to do.
((Prepare from some obviously unbalanced weapon apps! In this post, the swarm has taken over Jari and brought his intelligence to new levels, allowing him to create weapons so evil, that if they were real today they'd break the Geneva Convention 50 times over.))

Jari grabbed the test tube filled with Swarm Axis had given him. It looked inconspicuous enough, it was just a tube of black liquid. Jari poured it slowly onto a tray, and a swarm eye suddenly formed. Jari lifted his mask to look at it, but at that moment, it leapt up at his face and crawled into his brain. In an instant, Jari felt a searing pain in his ears. He clutched his temples, screaming and begging for it to stop. And stop it did, for Jari suddenly realised that his flesh turned black. Jari felt enhanced, rejuvenated, and began creating new weapons. A few hours later, he brought out a plasma coil, a bomb and a suit of heavy armour with two lightning conductors on the back. At last, he was ready for his mission, to kill Feron and anyone who tried to stop him.
((Hello, I was writing some huge block of story and then IPad decided to destroyed it all! So I am right now on a huge ragequit meaning I won't be writing anything for the moment being, and for Thin, you can do what you want to do with Theo. Just make sure that Gwen haven't seen/met Cleo!))
((Oh and if you don't mind, I haven't completely comprehended with the story because I was gone for a while... Can someone tell me where everything is up to for now?))
((@Infernus-Dragneel: after Gwen transformed into the Fallen Queen and let loose the supersonic screech, she became ashamed of her new self and hid in the Clockworks, only to be captured by Jari for experimentation. Kirito, the King Valkyrie, was hunting her down and found her, trying to provoke a fight because he thought her a worthy adversary. Thrynn tried to stop the whole business but got destroyed, and Trivoc, Arkus, and Chappers could only watch the events unfold. Gwen got impatient with all this, and used a massive power play on Kirito to show him who he was dealing with. Afterwards, Anubis tried to tell them what was going on, but he started going nuts. Chappers got infected by the Swarm. Gwen surprised everyone by first "killing" Chappers and then healing him. Anubis went into stasis and got infected by the Swarm. Jari got a vial of Swarm to experiment on, but accidentally got himself infected. Axis returned to Haven under the influence of Swarm. Gwen is perpetually exhausted and in pain because of her transformation.))
Third Person Mode
Now when Anubis touched the Swarm, he gained no power, but IT took his power. His anger, confusion, and depression are on a whole new level. But there is something everyone has failed to comprehend, even the Core itself, EVEN the Snarbolax who uses madness as it's weapon. The Swarm intensifies madness. So as Anubis floats in there, sleeping, his dreams are twisted, going from killing himself to bathing his hands in massacre, to being so afraid of himself that he sobs in a corner.
((BTW Swarm Anubis is free for control. It's not really my character as it is everyones so... :P))
Archemiday decided to descend to candlestick keep, because he needed some candles. When he finished his descent, he saw a massive trail of blood. Being suspicious, he followed the trail up to a frail black orb. He wondered what the orb was. 'Is this a spirit? A new crystal? Maybe I should ask it something. "Hello? Are you a spirit? Am I just talking to myself?"
(( Once again, I'm going to make a list of loose ends that need to be tied up.
*What's happening with Gor'Kazam, Eq'Larore, Bod'Gured, Cleo, and the nine other warriors accompanying them?
*What happened to Kirito after he got kicked to the elevator?
*Dagoon's location is currently unknown. Where is he, and what is he doing? How will he move the story?
*Where did Seatus go? Is he still in the Sanctuary?
*Axis's location is kind of ambiguous. Is he in Haven?
Now for some locational information.
*Gwenyvier, Arkus, Trivoc, Chappers, Axis, and Jari are in the Emerald Dragon Gate, depth 3.
*Anubis and Archimeday are in the Blue Sapphire Gate, depth 19 with a Candlestick Keep.
*Theo, Thanatos, and Cleo were in the Haven Town Square at last check.
*Kazam is in the Passage to Haven (south side).
))
(Yeah for the influx of swarm people!)
Name: Swarm Axis
Allegiance: Swarm/Morai
Appearance: The swarm has buffed Axis, he no longer has a normal build but is a bit less stockier then a guardian knight. Red data lines on body. Unique pattern over right eye. Now wears a mask made of pure swarm, has only eye holes. The pattern over his right eye is easily visible from the mask. The mask is black, but has poisonous green lines running across it.
Bio: While the swarm converted Anubis into their destroyer, Jari into their mind, Axis is the enforcer. His powers now range from spawning swarm seeds, and other void minions (Each time he summons them it drains him, and these creatures aren't as powerful because they don't have a swarm pillar anywhere.) to converting people to the swarm. (Not a very serious infection, could've been cured by Anubis and Gwen but they're both fallen.) He now radiates death, and plagues. Prolonged exposure (2 hours maybe) if you're not wearing a gas mask or celestial, will cause you to collapse.
Equips: Same set except it gives Immeasurable defense to shadow. It also gives medium CTR and ASI. Venom Annihilator: Improved upon by the swarm. now holds 4 rounds, gives as much damage as the Pulsar line, moderate chance of causing swarm poison. His sword is the same, except it deals shadow damage now, has a high chance of inflicting swarm poison, and the charge now has a swarm eye appear around him and explode.
Axis felt...different. He was now converted into something people only talked about in hushed whispers and scared pleas. He took this chance in the elevator to try these new powers, he summoned 4 void zombies, and a swarm seed, this new infection stopped all other elevator activity. "Good luck getting back to haven knights." Axis grinned. He stepped out, and was surprised to see that the fight had almost died down. He glanced towards his left, finding the fallen king, defeated and broken. "Get up you fool." Axis said as he approached. The king only had a a second to grunt in surprise before Axis grabbed a hold of him and infected him. "Help Steelclaw, with commanders out of the way it will be easier for the destroyer to obliterate the knights. With orders he walked off to greet Steelcaw, but not before he set the swarm seed and the zombies loose with the king leading them "Infect more." Axis said, with the twins in tow he walked off to where Jari was approaching.
EDIT: scratch Kirito, and Axis off that list.
Jari crawled out of the wreckage, his jetpack automatically activating and propelling him out of the ruined ware house. He flew over to Axis. "Nice work" Jari said, his voice much deeper than before. "All we need to do is find the destroyer, Anubis, and our power will be unstoppable. While you do that, I have a score to settle with a certain lieutenant". Jari clenched his fists making the plasma coil crackle with power.
I havent seen Serko in a long time...
i think i might abandon/kill him, idk what i want him to do...

EDIT: MainCharacterDeathCount:1
((Seatus is in the waters of Sanctuary. This new Swarm-filled environment is tearing at his essence.))
(Anubis)
I hear a faint, "Hello," come from outside. Ten tentacles, made from the same energy as the orb, shoot out at the newcomer.
((@Svanto: Serko is with Kazam. I'd nearly forgotten.))
((@Liminori: I would like you to handle either Larore or Gured, if you don't mind.))
((Edit: Aw. Dagoon died a valiant death; she was last seen challenging Kirito before she was cut down.))
Kazam plugged his ears when the screech rang out. When it stopped, his ears were ringing, and he briefly went deaf. He staggered, picked up his blade, and swung it at a knight who was similarly stunned by the screech. The knight collapsed, causing Kazam's swing to miss. Larore staggered into him, knocking both of them over. Larore said something with an apologetic expression, and Kazam nodded reassuringly. Serko approached him and said something too, but Kazam motioned that he couldn't hear. Suddenly, his ears popped, and he could hear again. "What were you saying, Serko?"
After Serko replied, Kazam spotted two warriors taunting a downed knight. He walked over and smacked both of them. "Don't taunt your foe. Not only is it dishonorable to treat a weaker combatant in such a way, it is also short-sightedly stupid. Someday, you may need his help, and he will not give it to you because he never forgot how you treated him." Kazam offered the knight a hand, which he gladly took and stood up. The knight brushed himself off, saluted Kazam, and staggered back to the knights' ranks.
There was now a standoff between the Knights and Morai. Because of the knights' superior skills, they had barely managed to even the odds against the Morai. Kazam now had to decide how he was going to break through the makeshift defenses and make the knights surrender. He then had an idea. He found a white cloth, made a white flag out of it, them waved it around before coming out and walking to the middle. The knights, in turn, discussed among themselves before sending Ikaros out to parlay with Kazam.
"Greetings, knight. I am Commissar Gor'Kazam; what is your name? I wish to discuss the terms of a possible solution to this fight."
Apparently, flying orbs do not like people. The orb shot out ten tentacles. Archemiday tried to dodge them but they managed to grab him. "ahh! I'm sorry about whatever wrong I did to you!". Archemiday's only weapon, his lute, fell from his back. "Please forgive me! I ment no harm!". Archemiday said.
Captain Scarrus: Amber color, Tabard and Hat of the Black Rose, Scar from chin to eye(left) shifty eyes.
Faction: Factionless/Pirate?
Bio: Well. . . He's a Pirate. Erhm. . . He came into command one day, when he STABBED THE ABSOLUTE [scrap] OUT OF THE CAPTAINS FACE UNTIL THERE WAS NOTHING. ((Yes, he's crazy as [rust].)) He will kill ANYBODY if he has the anger to. Oh, he's also a psychopath.
The tentacles drop him, leaving the wounds. Anubis has no idea what's going on, he is just having continuous nightmares.
(( for now, let's say Anubis+Seatus is as strong as Kirito. Btw, were in some warehouse. ))
Kirito
I turned my attention to the newcomer. He seemed to literally ooze power; he was as strong as Takiza, one of the Valkyrie Council and one of the only people who could hold their own against me. That was how powerful he was. Of course, no problem. I was weaker back then, so i could probably take him out in just under a minute. I smiled at Jari, "Hey, Steelclaw. You can have the Queen Valkyrie. I believe i have just netted a better catch." A grin spread over Jari's face and I turned back to this newcomer. "Ah, so you will do things to us worse than death? What will you suggest next, feed us Hot Snipets ((pun on hot pockets))?" I laughed. "Come, come. I will show you what true pain is, you fool."
Ikaros
I coughed as I regained consciousness for the second time. The Morai around me, indeed, everyone around me, looked shocked. They were all looking at some new guy. He was casually twirling a Gran Faust as if it was nothing [why does that remind me of Arkus?] and was glaring at the Morai. He appeared to be mad, and i guess that's good, seeing as how he seemed to be mad at the Morai, not us. He pointed his sword to the sky [over dramatic much?] and seemed to be challenging the Morai to fight him. The Valkyrie in black drew his blade, a four foot long, pure black blade that seemed to embody death and despair and laughed. I watched in curiousity; looks like there was a fight about to go down, and it should be interesting.
