I couldn't do anything else when Trivoc awoke. I simply leaned in closer -i was on top of him- and kissed him again, hugging him tightly as if i would never let go. He blushed, and i pulled away from him, my face a shade even more crimson than his. He smiled weakly and asked, "Hey... What's wrong?" I pouted and punched him in the... Weak point. As he groaned, i said menacingly, "Dont. Ever. Do. That. To. Me. Again." He laughed and i pouted a bit more, then kissed him again. I heard laughter, along with the faint noise of romantic music in the background, and turned to see Archemiday grinning as he played his lute. If it was even possible, my face grew even more red and i quickly stood up. I offered my hand to Trivoc, who took it and hauled himself back to his feet. I turned back to Arch and asked, "How much of that did you see...?" He responded only with a laugh. I shook my head and looked at the bodies of Axis and Thrynn, both of them still unconscious. Trivoc smiled at me and said, "So, you going to give them the same treatment, or am I special?" I laughed and shook my head. Hauling Thrynn over my shoulders -Trivoc and Arch took care of Axis- i said, "So, we'd better get to the Sanctuary, eh?" The other two nodded determinedly, and we set off on the final trek to the Sanctuary, when suddenly, i heard a booming voice -reminiscent of a Snarbolax's roar- speak into my head. ((Takiza!))

"So i see... You are the Uranus Queen's child... Come to the Sanctuary, Ikaros Alpha, and unlock your true power...."

Dagoon awoke again, and this time she was in the same room as. . herself? "[No, don't punch the captain in the face! Nooo!]"
She watched as the captain walked over to a chest and pulled out some items for her, and threw her out of the ship's window. Why? WHY? Why must i rewatch My misdeeds and. . is he- crying? I'm sorry for what I made you go through father. . . [YOU LIE! DIE SWARM!!!!!!]

Thrynn watched as the scientist grab his testing tools, Thrynn's first thought was to burn the supports off and rip the scientist's face off, but he didn't even have the strength to do that. [did the drug me? No, NO NOOOO] AAAAGGGGHHHH~~~~
Thrynn could feel massive pain as the scientist started ripping his arm off, and even shredded his spiked tail to bits. Thrynn's screams could be heard by all the false battle sprites and the people who were actually near him. ((Well. . . It seems that the swarm are doing damage to him WITHIN the dream, unlike Trivoc. What have i done? :D))

Axis was stil fighting the illusion. His dead comrades surrounded him. Over their terrified screams he heard whispers of deep sadness. They asked why would he leave them in their moment of need. He didn't have an answer for that. He finally stopped fighting it. "I'm...sorry." Axis muttered. "I ran when you needed me most." "And this terror and burden will weigh me down for the ret of my life."

"WAKE UP." A mental voice shocked him into opening his eyes. He was being carried by Trivoc and...the bard? "When did he get here?" thought Axis. He quickly jumped off their backs. He looked to the left and found the battle sprite being carried by the valkyrie, who was blushing. "Anyone want to fill me in on what happened?" Arch was a bout to speak but his mouth was covered by Trivoc, who gave him a dreadful stare. The bard couldn't stop laughing. Axis looked between the valkyrie and the knight. Axis cracked a grin. "Need a moment you two?" he asked. All he got was a cold stare. "Fine, well lets keep moving then." And like that the party headed for the sanctuary.

(Well, it seems that Dagoon and Thrynn aren't going to be awake for a while, so. . . could somebody direct Thrynn's dream? Nobody can direct Dagoon's dream but me because nobody else knows about Rhendon the Fourth/Captain Scarrus (Same person!).)
Dagoon wasn't happy at any rate, She was killing everything within her dreams, no matter what was currently going on. She could no longer accept what she had been seeing and had gone insane. "DIE, ALL OF YOU!" Then she felt someone shaking her awake. "Come on, we need to go to sanctuary!" Dagoon punched Trivoc in the face and ran for the exit, however she was stopped by an arrow to the back of her leg. "You're either coming with us after you stop whatever you're doing, or you get left here to go insane."

@Seatus: I'm not satisfied by the explanation, as it is rather confusing and, from what little I understood of it, a bit of a stretch. The Vorpal Sword was designed to slay a Jabberwock, not any creature that touched one, ingested its dandruff, or took part of its DNA. The Swarm doesn't even use half the genes it acquires, and I doubt it has yet found a use for Snarbolax/Jabberwock DNA (besides intel), if I am to accept your explanation.

Now, if the point of your explanation was to show why Seatus can't be hurt by the Vorpal Sword, I can understand your explanation, but I'm not buying it. You're looking at a heck of a lot of esoteric magic just to create a sword that can kill the unkillable. I will buy one of three explanations: 1) the sword can kill any Jabberwock, but nothing else. 2) It can kill anything as tough as a Jabberwock, but nothing tougher. 3) It will kill anything at all.

I cannot accept: "the sword analyzes your DNA for any trace of Jabberwock, and if it finds any, it checks your heart to see if it is pure, and if it isn't, it can kill you." I didn't know blacksmiths were also programmers. That's way too complicated.

My plan is for the Whitespace Swarm to deal with the dragon. I can't decide whether it kills the dragon or makes it good. Until we reach that point, I want to explore the creature's character. I don't want to reveal too much, but it would be a shame if it died by the Vorpal Sword in the next post.

I will edit out the dragon's accusation of Seatus being the Jabberwock if you will edit out Seatus's accusation of the dragon being the Jabberwock. They're both nigh-invincible creatures.

@Kaijuhunter: as much as I would love for the Whitespace Swarm to be able to grant the Uranus armor enhanced powers, I cannot in good conscience do so. Valkyrian armor is usually pure at the outset, and thus does not benefit from a Whitespace purge. And much like the Dark Swarm, the Whitespace Swarm confers few (if any) additional powers or enhancements upon its hosts. It is primarily a purging & transformation agent, like its darker alter ego, which is a darkening & transformation agent.

As Trivoc and Ikaros started lugging their teammates to the Sanctuary, one of the guys sitting around the campfire noticed them. He and his squad got up and approached the group. They stared at Ikaros, Trivoc, Axis, and the Bard with amazement, muttering things like, "Is this real?" and, "Finally, some good company!" The leader eagerly asked, "Can we come with you guys? It's been ages since we last saw any friendlies."

"S-seatus?" I smiled as I saw my old friend, Seatus, now changed into his true form... I knew that changes would have happened after 30 years...

"Theo!" he called out to me, "Use this!" Seatus then tossed me one of his thorns, I caught it with both of my hand while dropping my Gran Faust to the floor. I looked at the thorn deeply, Is this... what I'm going to use to kill them.... again?

"Three-no wait-four against one? That isn't fair." Seatus spoke as he landed to the ground.

Hell yeah it isn't, especially when they're your best friends and siblings. I gritted my teeth as I pointed the thorn towards them.

"Family reunions all over the place, huh?" Seatus looked at me as he withdrew a thorn to use it to help me fight my brothers.

"Heh, we always have the most interesting family reunions..." I chuckled sarcastically, but deep inside I know that I can't fight them... I can't fight the peoples I loved.

"Is that...?" Seatus spoke in awe, heck he must've noticed something that I didn't before...

"The Book of Sold Fates? The Book that Death wields and seals the souls of those whom made a deadly contract with him? Theo, we have to let the souls free, it will only corrupt them the longer they stay in the Book. Do it for your family at least...." Seatus turned to me, What does that book do really?

"But... I..." I stammered, I looked at the my brothers and sister, Marmalade.... who died protecting me. Eri.... who died because of an incurable disease... and Neil, who died in a fight... with me...

I killed them all, it was my fault they died...

I then looked at Seatus, he was soliloquizing something that I couldn't understand, but whatever he's doing it seems that it made him somehow stronger. I returned my look at Thanatos, his Cheshire cat grin is creeping me out, but what really made me angry is that he didn't tell me anything about the eternal contract, I didn't know that... their souls will never rest in peace...

Suddenly, there was a strike. I raised my swiftstrike shield as a Glacius landed on top of it, "M-marmalade! What the hell are you doing?!" I shouted at him, he just stared back at me in silence.

I knocked him back with my other hand which was free, I grabbed the thorn from the ground and slashed his chest. Marmalade just stared back at me, then I looked back at the thorn... it was stained with the blood of my brother...

"I can't do this!" I shouted as I threw the thorn to the ground, I pulled Marmalade up and hugged him, his body is strangely... cold. "I... I don't want to hurt you at all... I'm sorry Marmalade..." I sobbed, I couldn't help but shed few tears as I hugged my brother, "I'm not going to-"

And that was when I felt his Glacius entered my stomach.

((The Sword is meant to destroy evil. But the Sword cannot destroy the Swarm, only cripple it's numbers by a LOT once in contact with it. It can set most of the souls trapped inside the Swarm free. It will also send it back into sleep, as it has done once before. This is the Swarm's greatest fear, because they will be left to their own madness and hate and fear within their dreams. EDIT: It's a Jabberwock in a strange way. I hate spoilers, but there are other Gods as old and as powerful as the Core-being and the Swarm. The Gods are made out of each other, each having their own unique thing they are made of along with the others' things.))

(( @Thin: erm, sorry about that. But the Uranus Set isn't enhanced by the Whitespace: it already is powered by the Whitespace, that's why it has its special qualities. Otherwise it would be about as powerful as a regular Heavenly Iron Helm. The Whitepsace Swarm is what grants it the UV's and stuff that you mentioned earlier. Also, lets just say that by some magical absurdity, Takiza was able to infuse a *very* small amount of Whitespace into the armor, which is why it is as powerful as it is.

Put shortly, the Uranus set is normally as strong as Heavenly Iron, but the bit of Whitespace in its core grants it its extra power, making it as powerful as a Heavenly Iron set with all those Maxed out UV's and stuff.

He had taken refuge in the upper floors of the mansion, barricading himself inside of his room. "Come out. and take your punishment like a man!" His father shouted. Chappers was cowering in a corner.

He didn't know what else to do. He wasn't trained for a situation like this. [Then again, training never did me good for anything. I could never understand all the drills and techniques...] He thought somberly. His father was right; he was no Knight, he was nothing

He stood up and spoke. "You're right... you're both right. I'm not as great as you two, or my grandfather. I'm not a Knight, and I'll probably never be. And it's time I stopped running way from the truth." He opened the door and looked at his parents. who stared at him for a few long minutes. "Son... We're so proud of you." He said as he fired the Antigua.

Chappers reawakened with Arkus standing over him. "You doing ok, kid?" He asked. Chappers rubbed his head and spoke. "That was a horrible nightmare, but it made me realize some things." He said as the Guardian pulled him up. "How did your nightmare go?" Chappers asked. "It wasn't exactly difficult. I've already went insane once. I know what it's like, and I know how to bring myself back to reality. But I have to say, it wasn't easy watching my squad get slaughtered again by zombies." Arkus said, remembering what happened to his first squad.

Chappers nodded, then look somberly to the ground. "Arkus, why am I even down here? I'm not as strong as you, Trivoc, Archemiday, or anyone else. What am I doing down here, trying to help with something that's out of my power?" He asked.

Arkus patted him on the shoulder. "Being a Knight isn't about how fast, strong, or brave you are. It's about how you deal with what's thrown your way. Fighting past whatever difficulties you face to do what is right. When my squad died, I couldn't handle it. I gave in to insanity and put a lot of people in danger. But you... You've made it this far without giving up, no matter how dangerous or hopeless it got, you stayed with us. Unwavering loyalty is a quality that most Knights don't have. A quality that I should have had a long time ago." The Guardian said.

Chappers looked up. "Thanks..." He said. The duo turned to the elevator and got in. "Let's see if the rest of them are already at the sanctuary." Arkus said as he pressed descend.

Trivoc

After the ordeal he had been through with his nightmare, nothing had made him more relieved than to be awake. and nothing made him feel more better than to be in Ikaros' arms. [She actually cried over me...] He thought.

The nice feelings were cut short however when Ikaros hurt him in his "soft parts". "Ack! What was that for?" Trivoc groaned. "Dont. Ever. Do. That. To. Me. Again." She said threateningly. Trivoc smiled, and then she kissed him. [It feels a lot better in real life...] He thought. After they had finished, they turned to find the source of the music. It was Archemiday.

Ikaros turned a deep red, and Trivoc felt the need to bury himself alive. "How much of that did you see?" Ikaros asked, Trivoc was almost afraid to hear the answer.

"I saw everything. Muahahahaha!" Archemiday said, bursting into a fit of laughter.

Ikaros then turned to Axis and Thrynn, who were still unconscious. Trivoc decided to make a flirty comment. [If Archemiday is already aware, then there's really no point in trying to hide from him anymore] He thought. "So, you going to give them the same treatment, or am I special?" He said. Ikaros laughed and shook her head.

She took Thrynn while Trivoc and Archemiday worked together on Axis (His equipment was making him very heavy).

It didn't take long however for Axis to wake up and jump away from them. "Anyone want to fill me in on what happened?" The Morai Enforcer asked. Archemiday had a grin on his face and was about to speak,if Trivoc had not stopped him short by covering his mouth. The bard however continued shaking with laughter.

Axis looked to Ikaros, and then back to Trivoc, and then realization dawned on him. "Need a moment you two?" He asked with a devilish smile. Trivoc gave him a look that said [Don't even try to get started with me...] He said. "Fine well, let's keep moving then." Axis said, noticing his stare.

Dagoon, who Archemiday had brought with him. Started shaking and thrashing in her sleep. Archemiday and Trivoc went to wake her up, with Archemiday shaking her, but when she awoke, she threw a solid punch at Trivoc's face and ran away. While Trivoc was recovering from his daze, Ikaros had stopped Dagoon with a shot from her bow. The party threatened to leave her behind if she didn't pull herself together.

Dagoon, in response, simply twitched and stared wildly at them, as if she didn't recognize who they were, or where she was. They couldn't, in good conscience, leave her behind, so they decided to try and bring her along, and hope that she wouldn't have any more incidents. they told Archemiday to be the one to accompany her, since he was the one that she spent the most time with.

Just before they boarded the elevator however, they heard several voices.

"Is this real?" One voice said. "Finally, some good company!" A firm voice added, "Can we come with you guys? It's been ages since we last saw any friendlies." A third one said.

Trivoc looked at the newcomers. One of them had a Bombastic set, carrying several tools, and a face riddled with Void scars. Another wore Ceremonial armor and an Azure-guardian helm, along with a Lionheart blade and Exalted Honor Guard, which might suggest that he was fresh from a ceremony when he was pulled down into the depths. A third one resembled a Spiral Warden. And a last one was female and wore a modified round helm and customized Azure-Guardian armor.

Trivoc had to comprehend the situation for a moment before he realized that they were actually Spiral Knights ((It's been a long time since he's seen help from anyone other than our heroes)).

Trivoc saluted. "Been a while since we saw friendlies too. My name's Trivoc, Defender-class Knight. This is Ikaros, a Vanguard. This is Archemiday, a... well, a bard. This is Axis, a reformed Swarm-infected Morai Enforcer; don't worry he wont hurt you. And the battle-sprite is named Thrynn." He explained.

"We're heading down into The Sanctuary. Why are all of you camping out in an Unknown Passage, and why haven't you headed down to the Sanctuary? And, can you also tell us what's the situation on the surface?" He continued, curious about the story of the odd squad, and what was happening topside. [The bombastic Knight seems to be mechanically inclined... Maybe he can help Thrynn] Trivoc thought.

"We've been to the Sanctuary already, and are headed back up to the surface. I was hoping you could tell us what was going on up there. We were just resting from a surprise skirmish with some weird Swarm beasties." Said the Knight in ceremonial gear.

"Whoa, a real Vanguard? You look more like a Valkyrie!" The Bombastic Knight said, before turning to the Knight in the round helm. "She's even hotter than you!" He said. "Don't push it, Ru." The girl said with a laugh. Trivoc tried to hide his slight annoyance at the cavalier treatment of Ikaros.

"You some kind of musician? Can I play a tune with you? I have a harmonica with me." The Guardian Knight said to Archemiday as the two of them began to play a tune.

Trivoc turned back to the leader. "So, who are you all again?" He asked.

Have we met before?

The knight in the hood and silvermail saluted. "Been a while since we saw friendlies, too. My name's Trivoc, Defender rank." He gestured to a tall, bright girl with natural wings on her back. "This is Ikaros, a Vanguard." He then gestured to a knight with a lute and the scarred, blackened Morai standing next to him. "This is Archemiday, a...well, a bard. And this is Axis, a recovered Swarm-infected Morai Enforcer; don't worry, he won't hurt you. And the battle-sprite..." he looked around for it and spotted it, "...is named Thrynn."

The newcomers saluted Trivoc's squadmates and nodded with approval.

He continued. "We're heading down into the Sanctuary. Why are all of you camping out in an Unknown Passage, and why haven't you headed down to the Sanctuary? And, can you tell us what's the situation on the surface?"

The guardian and the bard began to play a duet together. Archemiday knew now that he was not alone in the world; sitting right here, right next to him, was a fellow bard, and probably the only one he would ever find.

Trivoc turned back to the leader. "So, who are you all again?" he asked.

The leader smacked himself on the forehead. "Where are my manners? What did you do with them, Ru?" The knight shrugged his shoulders and chuckled. He continued. "I'm Euclid. That's Rulen (we call him "Ru"), that's Parma over there..." she waved, "...and that's Grantz over there. Looks like he's already found a friend. That's...Archemiday sitting there next to him, right? I'm terrible with names."

Actually, nevermind, her opinion would be biased considering you chased her into the Core...I know! I can let you and the Core-being off this planet! As long as you donlt try to destroy it once off. The Vorpal Sword can be Sealed into the Core, forever to be the battery of this world, and never summoned again. Again, I repeat, as long as you don't destroy this planet...

After the -thank Vog! Normal!- Isorans found us, we sat around their camp and chatted. Trivoc introduced us, "Been a while since we saw friendlies, too. My name's Trivoc, Defender rank." He gestured to me in an exaggerated way, "This is Ikaros, a Vanguard, and my queen." I blushed at this, but managed to hide it behind my shirt. Trivoc then gestured to a Arch and Axis. "This is Archemiday, a...well, a bard. And this is Axis, a recovered Swarm-infected Morai Enforcer; don't worry, he won't hurt you. And the battle-sprite..." he looked around for the Drakon and spotted him, "...is named Thrynn."

The squad nodded their approval of us and saluted. [Dang, its been a while since i've seen something familiar like that] i thought. One Knight said, "We've been to the Sanctuary already, and are headed back up to the surface. I was hoping you could tell us what was going on up there." None of us knew, and we shrugged.

The Knight sighed in disappointment, but the somewhat sad feeling he had was broken when the bomber stepped up to me, ogling somewhat; staring at my curves and chest with an awkward curiousness in his eyes. "Wow, a Vanguard? You look like a Valkyrie!" [Sometimes i think i am...] I thought. The bomber grinned, saying to the other girl; "Wow, she's even hotter than you!" I saw Trivoc's jaw drop in bewilderment at this comment, and the girl laughed, "Hey, dont push it, Ru." I blushed and squeaked out, "I... I have a boyfriend already." The bomber's eyebrow lifted in askance, and i pointed to Trivoc. Triv's face flushed red and he stammered, "Um... Uh...". Everybody laughed.

Soon, the Guardian and Arch started to perform a duet with their instruments, sending a soothing melody throughout the corridor. I crept closer to Trivoc, and whispered affectionately into his ear, "You are such an idiot sometimes..." Grinning, Trivoc pulled me closer, "Hey, i don't care if im an idiot, as long as I'm your idiot." Smiling, i kissed him on the cheek and, due to complete exhaustion, passed out in his arms, feeling warm and safe.

A surprising gift

The dragon thought for a bit, then re-materialized the two million (well, slightly fewer, due to the prior decimation of the Morai ranks), and then buried its head in its hands.

It shrieked in pain as everyone was severed from the Void and returned to normal. The first thing Barrus did was bend Vaelyn over and kiss her, to which she responded in kind. Rhendon shook Virgil's hand, and Kora and Desna finally acknowledged each other (they'd been rivals). Kazam and Feron shook hands.

Now about half its earlier size (and about Seatus's size now), the dragon looked around, noted how happy everyone was, and was satisfied. Seatus noted that its skin had turned a deep gray (from its earlier pitch-black). For that matter, where was that little blob-thingy?

"Thank you. You have probably done the noblest thing ever to have existed. Now I know our planet is safe from the destructive force of War between the Morai and the Knights. Good wishes to you both," I raise the Vorpal Sword, and the dark, seaweed-green diamonds riddled in the Sword and on it's edges glow a new blue-green, filling the Core with a beautiful light, looking a lot like the reflection of light on water. The four floating cards fly to the top of the Core, fitting into shallow, rectangular chambers in the formation of a square. The cards glow their own light, Spade purple, Clubs green, Diamond blue, and Heart red. Their lights connect, and lines all along the Core appear, spreading the parts apart, and a square part floats off the top, like a lid.

"Be freed, Trapped Gods." I whisper. Another light fills the Core, and the bubble surrounding Alice pops, and I see a bright figure fly put on enormous wings and a long dress. Who knows what it is, it's simply too bright to see. There is onky the War left to fight, and we, the Cradlians, will watch from the sidelines as we have for millenia. Everything will turn out okay for us. I watch the magenta-tinted platforms of light return to a blue-green, and I fly over to the center one, and stab the Vorpal Sword into the ground, it taking on a new light.

"Peace, at last," A voice whispers. Everyone turns to a new presence in the room. The Blue Caterpillar, smoking upon his long pipe, floats on a cloud of blue smoke. "I have long waited this day," he rasps, "and now, it has come the time for me to say goodbye. I can now return to the Realm of the Exalted. I was doomed here by the other Gods for being too nonchalant. But, I am free..." his bright light flashes again, and I see a blue cloaked figure in his place, with blue baggy pants and bare, blue feet, matched with blue hands. White eye symbols decorated the blue of his clothes, and blue butterfly wings spread from his back. He turns into a lgihts, and shoots into the sky like a star. "Goodbye, old friend," I whisper into the sky....

((Did you guys... Just end the story? And the Knights squad didn't even get to partake in some epic battle, or have a pivotal role in causing the conclusion of the story XP. I hope there's still a little more.

@Kaijuhunter: You put some words in my character's mouth that wasn't supposed to be there, but I guess I could let it slide by explaining that his usual silent demeanor changed whenever he's around Ikaros.))

Chappers

When they reached The Sanctuary, there was no one there. [Strange...] Chappers thought. Arkus had already thought ahead of him and activated his comm unit. "Archemiday, do you read?" Arkus started.

"What's you and Dagoon's status, and have you heard from Trivoc?" He continued. chappers feared that they were still trapped in their nightmares, like they were.

Trivoc

"I... I have a boyfriend already." Ikaros said in reply to the mechanic's comment. Trivoc listened with curiosity, and was taken aback when she pointed at him. [Wow... Did she just confirm that?] He thought, not believing how quick she had decided on him. By now he noticed that everyone was staring at him, and his thoughts were so preoccupied, that he could do nothing but stammer. Much to everyone's amusement.

Soon enough, the group had sat down around the campfire started by the squad of newcomers, and then Trivoc asked who they were.

"Where are my manners? What did you do with them, Ru?" The leader said as he turned to the bomber, who shrugged and laughed. "I'm Euclid. That's Rulen; we call him "Ru", that's Parma over there..." The Knight in the Round helm waved. "...and that's Grantz over there. Looks like he's already found a friend. That's... Archemiday sitting there next to him, right? I'm terrible with names." The leader finished.

[Euclid, Rulen, Parma, Grantz...] "You're The Alpha Squad?!" Trivoc said in bewilderment. He couldn't believe that the historic band of war heroes was standing right before him. [I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I did meet Arkus, after all] He thought. "That's our designated codename. Although it's not so much a title as it is a squad name." Euclid said with a chuckle.

Trivoc's curiosity was starving. How did they live this long? What happened to them? What did they see? How did they get out? Before he could ask any of this however, Ikaros had seated next to him, removing any other priorities from his mind. "You are such an idiot sometimes..." She whispered affectionately. Trivoc thought that by now, his brain would be turning itself inside out for a decent reply, but to his surprise, he was able to answer quickly and smoothly.

"Hey, i don't care if I'm an idiot, as long as I'm your idiot. In fact, I'll be your Royal Fool every day if you want... Your highness." He said. Ikaros smiled and kissed him on the cheek before resting in his arms. [Huh. Usually I take more time before I speak. Because I think them through first. How'd I do that?] He thought to himself,noticing how he changed whenever Ikaros was involved.

Trivoc looked at her sleeping form, wondering at how such a beautiful creature like her had seen so much death and war. He stroked her pink hair and held her hand. They seemed so soft and fragile. He felt like the shield standing in between her, and the real, harsh world.

He was snapped back to reality when he noticed Alpha squad (except for Grantz, who was still busy doing the duet with Archemiday). He thought about something to say, but failed to do so and ended up blushing. "Don't worry about it, son. we wont bite." Euclid said with a grin. Parma looked happily at the couple. "I hope you know how to take care of a lady." She said. Rulen turned to everyone. "You better keep her at a distance from me, 'cause I'm not making any promises." He said. Everybody laughed at this, including Trivoc.

He then turned to Euclid. "There's so much I want to ask about you and your squad." He said to him. "Then, start asking." Euclid replied. "Well, first of all, what happened after you entered The Core?" Trivoc asked, and then waited for an answer from the legendary Squad Leader.

((Off to bed for now. see you all in the morning. I'll just say that the removal of The Swarm happened after Trivoc's interview with Euclid.

"M-m-marm..." Theo groaned, and he fell to the ground with his stomach cut open. He suddenly felt someone catching him... It was... Marmalade... The real one. He couldn't help but smile at his brother who had passed away and now returned.

"You okay bro?" Marmalade grinned, despite the fact that he was wearing a Skolver mask.

"I'm... Sorry... That... You died because of me..." Theo chuckled and few tears dropped from his eyes.

Marmalade sighed and wiped Theo's tear and smiled at him, "Hey, didn't you remember the promise you made when Gwen disappeared? "I promised, that I won't cry anymore until I am back with Gwen: for that is where my tears of happiness shall be.", gee, what kind of role-brother are you?"

"Gwen... She... Revived you..." Theo smiled, but the voice of his Partner caught his attention.
".....SUmmMmmmmmmONER TERrrrMINated..... S-s-s-UMMMONER TERMINATED...." Thanatos muttered loudly. "I... I AMFREEEEEEE!!!"

He slowly walked towards Theo and Marmalade who was trying to stop the bleeding, he then opened a page in his book and smiled. "THEODORE NOIR... YOUR SOUL IS MINES... FOOLISH OF YOU... TO TRY AND BREAK A CONTRACT WITH THE GOD OF DEATH..."

"T-Thanatos... Why are you doing this to him?! Why...-" Marmalade tried to continue but he suddenly felt a powerful blow from his back- it was Eri who knocked him unconcsious with the hilt of her Voltedge.

"Don't... Don't hurt Marmalade... Please..." Theo muttered to Eri who dragged Marmalade away from them, she then snapped her fingers and chains appeared from the ground which slowly dragged Marmalade to the ground.

"WHY IS HE STILL ALIVE?! AT LEAST YOU WON'T BE SEEING HIM AGAIN...." Thanatos grinned as Marmalade disappeared into the ground. "WORRY NOT, HIS SOUL HAD ALREADY BEEN MINES... ALL I NEED TO DO IS JUST FIND WHEREVER THE CHAINS OF ASTERIOS SENDS HIM TO AND I'LL JUST KILL HIM..."

"Stop... Please... Don't... Hurt... Marm..." Theo groaned and coughed blood, "Why... Can't I.. Defeat you... I.. Must've once... Finished.. The contract..."

"IT WAS NOT YOU WHO FINISHED THE CONTRACT..." Thanatos cackled, he closed the Book of Sold Fates and dug his claws into Theo's chest, Theo tried to scream but he couldn't, he's already dead.

"IT WAS... GWEN WHO STARTED YOUR CONTRACT AND FINISHED IT..." Thanatos whispered at Theo's ear and swallowed his heart. "I AM FREE... IT IS NOW.... TIME FOR ME... TO COLLECT MORE SOULS... AND DEVOUR THIS PLANET... STARTING WITH YOURS..."

The shadow knight laughed, and tossed Theo's body into the core.

Gwen... sorry... that.... I... couldn't... fulfill... my.... our... promise... I... love.. y....

((So yeah, Theo's dead...))

"...Impossible..." Cleo mumbled as she looked around Haven, somehow seeing those dead bodies... eased herself from this unusual feeling she had a second ago. "....Theo...."

Cleo then continued walking towards the bloodbath, she dodged every incoming attacks at her path and would occasionally stop to cleave a knight or Morai standing in front of her. The girl continued walking, until she reached the arcade.

"Theo... Are you dead...? Answer me...." Cleo called out to the empty Arcade, "Please don't leave me... We still have some games to do right...?"

Cleo.... come here... play with me...

"....Thanatos...? Is... that you...?" Cleo whispered, she could hear the mind speech Thanatos gave to her.

Indeed... Theo... tells me that... you should meet me.... at... the.... Gloaming... Wildwoods.... I... want... to... play... wtih... you... for the last... time...

"Alright..." Cleo smiled, and walked towards one of the elevator.

((Yes, Cleo is going to Gloaming Wildwoods to meet Thanatos, where her soul will be harvested and her heart eaten by the God of Death :3))

Short recap

Axis shrugged when they were greeted by the other group of knights. He had heard Trivoc call them the Alpha Squad. And from the way Trivoc seemed to admire them they must be famous. After a few short discussions they were off to bed. As Axis was just about to doze off he felt a pang inside of him. Thousands if not millions of things had been just released from the swarm, including the great power from earlier, he still remained swarm infected but, it was fine for the time being.

He woke up everyone else to give them the update. Trivoc and Ikaros were relieved that their friends were finally free of the swarm. The Alpha Squad jsut looked confused. "I think we need a recap." said Euclid. "Long story short, we the Morai ventured to this planet because of the insane levels of energy. We didn't get along with the knights so well. The skylark the arrived giving backup to the knights and decimating thousands of our ranks. I along with a few others managed to escape and not get caught. These two, he gestured at Ikaros and Trivoc were both sent on assignments by various different people that led them to depth 23. I was their per orders to retrieve a Morai scientist that might help in our fight. And that's when our elevator stopped in a swarm nest and I was infected." "I'm getting tired of this already." Axis sighed "So comments or questions from you guys and then I'll let Ikaros fill you in on the rest."

((in regards to your post 709, the Vorpal Sword was once a normal sword, brandished by a heroic character that still is unknown. This character, whoever it is, killed my Father for turning evil and the sword absorbed his power, transforming it into the Vorpal Sword. And this DOESN'T work like a computer. Once the powers were absorbed, a hint of life is inside the sword. The blade can only kill the heart of a dark Jabberwock. Notice only)). That is because it can kill nothing else. If you try against a mortal being, the blade will just reverse it's course.
Fate is one of the Gods. He's the one that sent the Hero to slay my Father when he was a Corrupted Great Snarbolax. He is now only a Corrupted Snarbolax that gets revived by the Core every time he dies.
Oh and, the Jabberwock DNA isn't something it can use. Each God, no matter what their situation is, are made out of each others unique element. All of these materials lay in each cell of a God's body. So, whatever the case, Fate wanted a failsafe on the other Gods if they decided to turn....awful...against himself, Fate. I think I answered most of your questions
EDIT: Oh forgot one more! If you want the Whitespace to deal with the Swarm, I promised to let both of them go. The Core-being didn't agree to anything. =) Just have the battle go on in space at the same time as the War. Don't forget this thread's true storyline.))

((@Seatus: I doubt the Knights and the Morai will keep fighting each other, given the fact that they've just been through Hell and back, together. I also don't think that the Morai will be foolish enough to try and gather the core's energy after the whole "Apocalypse" incident.

So... does this mean that now, we're fighting the god of death? (Thanatos, who has apparently turned pure evil)))

More story!

((@Azure-Orbit: no, it's not over yet. There are a few loose ends to tie up, and there's still room for a surprise villain (like Kirito, hint hint)))

Euclid answered Trivoc's first question. "The Core is amazing. It's quite a comfy place, and the Lady of the Core is very hospitable. She nursed our wounds, fed us, and gave us rest. After all we've been through, it was good to finally get some sleep. Several weeks ago, she left the Core to 'take care of business,' to put it her way. We left the core a few hours ago when it opened up."

Trivoc then asked, "How did you guys get into the Core in the first place?" Rulen answered this one. "I don't really know. After defeating The Gauntlet, we found ourselves in a very dark place that was swarming with...well, Swarm. Then we entered a dark passage we didn't recognize. I nearly got separated from the squad and got enveloped in weird black stuff and attacked on all sides by black creatures. *$&@ it was AWFUL!! Grantz is my hero; he came over, grabbed a black Wolver by the neck, growled at it, and snapped it. The Swarm lept off of me and onto him, and...just...wow, that guy has way more courage and strength than I do. We encountered a gate to some kind of exit, but it wouldn't open. We said our goodbyes to each other, thinking we were doomed, and fought for dear life. Then, a blinding light shone behind us, and Euclid beckoned for us to follow him into it. We doubted the safety of the light, but...heck, we'd follow Euclid to hell and back! So we followed him. And then there we were in the Sanctuary."

Euclid turned his attention to Dagoon, who was still dreaming. He walked up to her, slapped her, and shouted in her ear, but she still didn't wake up. He then pinched her on a nerve, which jolted her out of her dream. She woke up to see a strange new face staring at her. Euclid waved in her face. "Hello there! You were knocked out cold, sleepyhead!"

Meanwhile...

Gwen ran through the Arcade, and spotted a dark figure laying on the ground. She went over to it and recognized it as Theo. His eyes had vanished, and he had a large, open wound in his chest. "No...no...NOOOOO!!" She bent over him, kissed him, and cried. She then spotted his Maiden's Tear. She picked it up, brought it close to her heart, and crushed it in her fist. Taking one of her own tears, she made him a new crystal and put it around his neck on a golden necklace.

Summoning a little point of light, she hovered her hands over his wounds, closing them up and repairing any damage with it. She then brought a thunderball to his head and jolted his body back to life. Working quickly, she attached a tube & wire system between her body and his and donated half of her health to him. Finally, she broke a health capsule and applied it to him.

He still didn't wake up, so she slung him over her shoulders and lugged him back to the Sanctuary (knights are physically strong, so yes, she can do that).

She laid him on a bed, sat herself on a chair beside it, and puffed on her pipe while waiting for him to awaken.

Theo awoke to find himself on a soft white bed, and a little steam heart flew in his face.

Theory time!

((I'm guessing Dagoon, being present for everything also heard everything, but still was still unable to interact with her surroundings.))

Dagoon was back in the ship, but this time, it was 8 years later. "You're back? Well, I guess I could invite you to PAIN!" He said as he slapped her on the cheek and yelled "YOU WILL NEVER BE WELCOME ABOARD AGAIN!" Then one of the crew pinched her on the neck, and Dagoon watched as dream turned into reality. Someone said "Hello there! You were knocked out cold, sleepyhead!" while waving their hand in front of Dagoon. Her first reaction was instead to sit in the corner of the room and muttered "D!@# Swarm, I'll never be able to accept my pirate of a father again."

((Here's me attempting to direct Thrynn's dream XD. You'd think battle-sprites would have an immunity to the effects of The Swarm, being robotic and all.

@Archemiday: The Swarm's power is weakening already, so he really shouldn't be suffering an infection. Oh well, I'll play along with it.))

Thrynn

Thrynn felt the cold steel of the buzz saw grind through his limbs. He screamed and screamed, but it made no difference. The scientists were about as concerned with Thrynn as they would be of a tiny crystal dropped in a mineral deposit; he could die right then and there and it wouldn't make a difference to them.

"Let us begin the sentience removal sequence." He said as he leaned closer to Thrynn. "Don't worry about a thing, little one. Once we are through with you, you will be the most powerful weapon in the entire Spiral Arsenal." He said as he pulled out more tools of pain.

"AAAHHHH." Thrynn screamed as the process continued. Some part of him wanted to become stronger; to become an unstoppable force. But, another part wanted it all to stop, to say that he didn't want to be a mindless weapon. Until he decided what he truly wanted, the painful operation would continue without end.

Trivoc

After Trivoc had asked his questions to Euclid, and after the Alpha Squad leader awoke Dagoon (during which Euclid gave Trivoc a quick lesson on nerve points). The rest of them decided to get some sleep.

Axis had awakened them later to tell that The Swarm had released many beings, although its power still seemed to emanate in the Unknown Passage. Everyone expressed their relief at this and returned to their rest.

Trivoc was one of the first to awaken, he turned to Ikaros who still slept soundly in his arms. He smiled and started humming Archemiday and Grantz's tune from a while ago, pretending that he was singing a lullaby to Ikaros. Although, he never was known for his singing skills.

He was caught by surprise when Archemiday took a swing at him.

Trivoc saw the bard from the corner of his vision, and leaned out of the way (while he was sitting down, since he was still holding Ikaros). "What are you doing?!" He asked, wondering if he was dreaming again, and fired a warning shot with his Argent Peacemaker which woke up everyone.

((I'll let Ikaros and Alpha Squad react before starting the actual fight))
