Ask thin, I really don't know how long Axis will have independent of the swarm.
Return to Cradle (Roleplay. Apps accepted!)
((@Gzilla: the Swarm Seed is merely a regeneration and adaption mechanism. Axis will be buffed by it and possibly modified, but his new loyalty is unlikely to change. The new "energies" of the Swarm is actually an enhanced intelligence, which Axis benefits from.))
((@Kaijuhunter: Forgot to ask but, did Ikaros pick up her equipment, or is she still unarmed?))
Trivoc
The Twin Snarbolaxes attacked them with hungry ferocity. Axis seemed to retain his personality, so that was a relief.
"I'll goad them to the bells, you deal the damage." Trivoc told the Morai Enforcer, since he probably had better weapons than he did. The 2 Snarbolaxes roared and spat foam from their mouths as they chased Trivoc to the bells.
((This would be the perfect time to utilize any enhancements your characters has gained, Gzilla :) ))
---
Eventually, the large creatures fell, and the path to the elevator was clear. Tht was when Trivoc's comm unit came to life. The transmission was garbled however, due to its damaged state.
"*bzzt* -voc, she's not *crack* the jelly pala- *bzzt* Do you have any si-*bzzt*of Ikaros?" The voice said. "Yes, we have her with us right now. We're heading down through the Unknown Passage. We'll meet you at The Sanctuary. Advise Arkus, over." He said, hoping that his message would not get too garbled as it was sent.
The team got into the elevator, wondering what new monstrosities awaited them in the Unknown Passage, now that The Swarm seemed stronger.
The elevator dropped at breakneck speed and pounded to a halt in the Unknown Passage; everyone was clinging on the railings (except for Thrynn, but that was because he could fly). Trivoc drew his Vanquisher, and prepared for the worst. He went nearer Ikaros. "Stay close to me, alright?" He said. He didn't doubt Ikaros' combat ability, but after her ordeal, Trivoc didn't plan on risking her to The Swarm again, not now that it was more powerful.
((Yay, It's now friday, and I no longer have school! Forgot to mention, If you want an item that is related to your character's hobbies, just ask Thrynn.))
__________________
The elevator came to a full stop, and Thrynn could hear the sides of the elevator scraping against the metal wall, then it slightly rumbled and fell down with full force and speed (Not good!) as Thrynn called out from above "You guys okay?".
Thrynn then dropped his wings to reduce drag, (I'm assuming that there's air conditioning that works as wind. Hmm. odd.) and balanced himself upwards with his tail and started flying to slow his fall. (Why am I adding this? Well, if someone is flying, the speed of the elevator would outrun flying objects because it has more momentum. (Wait, what? Why am I adding this?))
Edit: Steam Name: Redcap/Redkap (Not sure if with a k or c.) ((Eh, we might as well all write out our steam names, if not just to hang out in the same room ingame.))
((I'm not on Steam, so I can't join in.))
((I can't decide what the characters find in the SL. Is it empty? Do they find familiar faces? Are they just attacked like last time?))
(( Let me throw an idea at you, The character's get out to find a really, really big puzzle, and finishing it opens the exit, however most of the puzzle requires mind interaction, and easily messes with one's mind.))
Edit: Throw an Idea at you as in: The idea is yours to mess around with.
"Yes, we have her with us right now. We're heading down through the Unknown Passage. We'll meet you at The Sanctuary. Advise Arkus, over.". Good, they had found her. With Dagoon heading to the surface to mend herself, it was just me. I hit the elevator to go down. "Saito, call Arkus. Arkus, its me, Arch. We are heading to the sanctuary, and Thrynn and Trivoc have retrieved Ikaros. Good luck.". We hit the floor, and I saw masses of void creatures. "Saito, ready for some combat?". "Always." "Arch drive, restriction engine 405, release. Idea engine, activate!". There were two of me. Saito in a vog coat, and me in my dusker. We slashed our way through swarm after swarm. I had lost my will to be nice to restriction 405. They had no mercy. I hacked my way through using a sword of pure data and information from the idea engine. We had gotten through the defense. "Nice work, Saito. Lets go!". We headed downwards.
((if anyones wondering, the Arch Drive can call without any connection.))
((@Limori: My Steam name is |_azarus. Although, I only play TF2 on Steam. I play Spiral Knights on its official launcher.
@Thinslayer: What if The Swarm's new powers gave it the ability to read the memories and thoughts of Living Beings Therefore, the horrors that each character faces will be their own, as the rest cannot see it. It might be an interesting thing to write about. What do you think?
I'm off again for now (and by the time I get back there will be 30+ posts XD. See you guys later.))
((Bah, ninja thin. Should I change my run through of the lair?))
((Actually, the Swarm already absorbs the memories of its victims; see my earlier debrief on the Swarm. Let's have the Swarm face the characters off against familiar people. That should keep things interesting.))
((Should I change anything in my run? I've never actually done shadow lair. I'm too busy balling out in 3* gear))
(Seatus)
I am paralyzed by shock as the thing hugs me. I slowly raise an arm, and pat it on the back. "Why...why does this have to be so hard..." I take it by the shoulders and push it off from hugging me. I stare at it in the eyes, "It's naptime," I say, "come on then..." I pull it by the arm to a summoned white canopied bed. "Do you want me to go get Mother?" I feel terrible at having to soon send this to sleep...this must be how my Father felt.
((@Archemiday: then you've got a truckload of awesomeness coming your way! The main levels of the Shadow Lairs are as hard as danger missions (if not harder), and the Unknown Passage is downright creepy. Down there, your minimap doesn't function, you can't see very far ahead of you, the level quakes periodically, and the atmospheric music is amazingly creepy. The enemies always respawn, and the respawners can't be blocked or destroyed. Those same spawners also fire shots at you. The gates after the final party button can't be opened by killing all the enemies, as they always respawn. You can only survive until the gates lower. There are several long paths to that button that are riddled with perma-stunning Swarm seed, indestructible Swarm turrets, and ever-respawning foes, so if you get separated from your teammates, no one can afford to come back and revive you.
I love it.))
((so death, death, and death. Still, I'm gonna change the swarm part a little. When do we fight our nightmares?))
Seatus, be careful. This creature is almost as old as time itself, and has memories spanning the known universe. It has absorbed your father and brothers, so it knows what you are capable of and what your weaknesses are. Tread lightly.
She spoke this in his head. At least Gwen was alive.
((@Archemiday-Thebard , that would work. You could find me already fighting in the last arena part of the first floor, or anything else. After reading the entire thing (i'm such a dork in some ways) i really want to join in this. Am i accepted? Do you know if i have been accepted? Since i'm only like 15 i still have school. To help work around that if needed my character could randomly walk off to fight or whatever (really long pee-pee brake even, lol) I want to start ASAP.))
(Seatus)
Come to us, Gwen. I need you to calm it so I can send it to slumber. This is only the Child of the Master. It already has incredible strength. I only need you present to send it to it's dreams.
I sit on the bed next to the creature. I hold it in my arms, and have ot lean against me. "So what do you say, should I get Mother?"
((Bye? for the REST of today! MUAHHAH- Time for some more Idle TF2.))
((Well yes, but remember when Theo got in contact with Gwen for the first time? They are both dark spirits and can't stand light, even though it contradicted both Gwen and Theo.... think of it like Romeo and Juliet..... without them both dying.
A-anyhow....
Thanatos is darkness, and as soon as he was purged, the darkness inside of him that had been keeping him alive this whole time is starting to vanish, and Theo who made a contract/pact with him would also feel the changes inside of him too.))
First person view again!
Hell, this place is much more darker than I thought.... I still couldn't believe that Gwen would take risks again... especially at her unstable condition right now...
"GWEN!" I shouted, trying to call out to her. I could see something different down there.... Was that.... Seatus?
As I looked deeper down into the swarm infested core, it seems that my voice had caught the attention of few hostile void creatures.... They began hissing at me and glared with their corrupted eyes. One of them, a void wolver leaped towards me and bit my arm. GAH! IT HURTS! I tried swatting the creature away but it's fang dug deeper into my flesh, more of the void creatures rushed towards me to either have a taste of my rotting body or to just kill me.
Heck, I'm gonna die!
"MAKE HASTE..."
That voice! It was Thanatos' voice! I looked up at the hole where I could see a hand reaching out to me, to save me. I grabbed it and the hand started pulling me out of the Core, the rest of the void creatures tried to hold on to me but it was useless as I managed to escape just in time.
"...WHY MUST YOU BE VERY BASHFUL? YOUR ACTIONS ARE VERY FOOLISH THEO..."
I looked up at Thanatos, is he angry at me? Heck, I couldn't tell at all with that emotionless face he had...
"FOR NOW YOU SHALL STAY, IT IS FUTILE TO SAVE HER"
"It's never!" I yelled back at him as I grabbed his neck, "I promised to save her and I wo-"
"WHY WOULD YOU SAVE HER WHEN YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF?"
I quickly released Thanatos from my grip and fell to silence, I knew this whole time that I was.... still weak...
"WHY CLING WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE STRENGTH? WHY FIGHT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WEAPON? WHY TRY... WHEN IT'S FUTILE?"
"Why hate when you can love? Why walk when you can run?" I answered him with a slight change of tone in my voice, I did understood what he meant... but I know that I could still save her... "There is still a chance for everything, and I won't let that chance go at all..."
"...FINE, IF YOU INDEED NEED STRENGTH... RENEW THE CONTRACT..."
What? what did Thanatos mean by "renewing the contract?" hell, this dude always make me ponder for hours whether he's a freak or not.
"You mean... fight you again?" I spoke to him with my Gran Faust ready in case of anything. "But... How?"
Thanatos then clapped his hands, a large ancient book which seemed like a compendium... It had names of people listed in it.... Is that... Cleo in one of the list?
"I SHALL FIGHT YOU WITH THIS... TO BREAK THE CONTRACT AND RENEW IT..."
"You're... gonna fight me with a book?" I chuckled, "Damn, this is going to be very very easy!" I laughed and wield my Gran Faust. I looked back at everyone else, hoping that they could all see this, especially the Council. I want them to see that there is still hope for me to save her.
As Thanatos opened a particular page, I could notice the slightest hint of a malicious grin from his vacant face. "IT-IT-it-It iS TiME FoR yOU to DIE T-t-T-tHEo!!!!" Thanatos cackled crazily, the color of his armor... it turned black again... But this time the color was different, it showed nothing else but evil.
Suddenly, three knight-like creature appeared from the ground, their faces were... scribbled. One of them, wearing a Skolver and holding on to a Glacius set stood there and stared at me... the other one, a knight with a Dread Skelly set displayed some sort of anger towards me by pointing his Combuster at me... and the last one, a female knight wearing a Chaos set and also a Voltedge at her left arm....
"DeFEaT ThEM thEN YoU cAn PrOOOOO-o-o-O-CeeD FIGhtiNg MeEeE!!!" Thanatos cackled, his voice was deformed and it sounded so creepy, that it could easily scared the bravest of all Guardians.
Then I just realized who those three were: Marmalade, Neil and Eri.
My brothers and sister who had passed away...
((The purge is not merely a removal of darkness; remember, this is a form of the Swarm; they are capable of transforming one creature into another without removing its soul. For a dark example, Axis was completely destroyed by Larore's bomb, but later came back as a creature formed from biomass, memories intact. The Whitespace can do likewise. Thanatos is an entirely new creature that is able to live in the light. He no longer needs darkness to stay alive. But if you really want the purge to have ill-effects, I won't stop you.))
Back to the story...
The creature pulled back from Seatus, quite confused about why Seatus would want to put him to sleep and take mother. Didn't he know that she was sick? He tried to explain, and made a few odd noises, but realized he forgot to design in a voice system. He began remodeling his throat while Seatus spoke.
Why do you ignore me? :C Not Archemiday-Thebard but everyone else.
Its because your character doesn't even know ours. He's supposedly in the RJP SL, where no one except arch and dag are. So we can't actually acknowledge him until arch finds him. Get proactive and somehow integrate him into the story.
((I would rather not power play your character into the story. You need to first establish your character's environment and situation before we can produce comfortable interaction. Otherwise, the rest of us are compelled to find a situation for your character, and we can't guarantee that you'll like it. For best results, you should make the first move.
For example, I could start you off by having your character cowering in a corner in the Royal Jelly Palace and someone saves him, but maybe the character you had in mind is strong and courageous. I can't guarantee an appropriate situation unless you write it.
All I'm asking is: start writing your character's story! Don't wait for us. If our characters cross paths with yours, fabulous. If they don't, just keep writing and having fun. I recommend writing towards interaction with other players, but don't count on it happening.))
((In that case, my character is a treasure hunter. He is looking to steal the Ice Queen's crown. His ambition drove him to delving into the palace alone. He fights through almost all of the first floor and is on the final part of the first floor of the palace. Your characters find the first parts of the palace in ruin with demolished jellies everywhere. You figure someone or something has already found it's way through the palace and continue on with ease encountering hardly any live jellies on the way. Moving on to the latter parts of the first floor, you here war cries, gunshots and the sound of swords slicing through jellies. You quickly run on and find yourselves watching a solo knight demolish all enemies in his path. when I am finished razing the jellies I finally notice you. Not knowing whether you are hostile or friendly i draw a sword and hold it at the ready. You explain that you mean no harm, and he decides to join your party, but still work towards his own goal, and we all continue on.
NOTE: My character, Octurnus, does not leave after getting the Ice Queen's crown.))
((First Order of Business: Welcome. Second Order of Business: Don't take THAT much control of others' characters, and suddenly make them in another place. Not take everyone from where they are and inexplicably end up in the palace. If you want to meet with the others, you're probably going to have to find them. I will give you a list of where everyone is (to the best of my knowledge)
Seatus: In the Core
Anubis: Haven, soon to fight the horrible monster-beast
Gwen: Pretty sure she's somewhere at the center of the monster-beast in Haven.
Archemiday: Unknown Passage
Theo: Entering the Core
Cleo:.......Can't remember :/
Thrynn: Some run-down elevator
Axis: I still don't remember
Third Order of Business: I suggest looking for Archemiday in a path less traveled in the Shadow Lair. The Swarm undoubtedly have paths running around to connect their territory. But don't get too excited, the Master's Lair is connected by a path that isn't even in the Shadow Lairs. SO, look for Archemiday. Seatus awaiting interaction from beast or Gwen.))
((I can end up finding you in the passage while your looking for treasure, karonix))
(Seatus)
I watch the creature pull back from me. Specks of magenta flicker around it's throat, small pings of noise happening every now and then. I decide to look into it's mind to see what's up, but I am suddenly pushed to the floor by a force much like a punch. "Ouch! Too ancient." I rub the back of my head. "Well, do YOU know where Mother is? We need to hurry, or Alice could get hurt. And, well, that would make me sad." I talk to it as I would a small one, explaining things bluntly but with no force.
For millennia, Isorans have tried to make contact withy the Swarm, but with no success. It never spoke to them except to tell them of their doom. No one had ever before made peaceful contact with it.
The beast spoke to Seatus, to an Isoran-speaker, for the first time in history, with a thunderous, otherworldly voice. "MothEr Is sIcK. sHe nEeds mY HElp." It looked at him with a deadly-serious expression. "I Am nOt A ChIld, SeAtuS. yOU do noT neEd to spEAk DowN to mE."
((Why is nobody in my team posting? Oh well, I'll just continue then. I'll try not to go too far ahead.))
Trivoc
Trivoc was surprised to see that there were almost no Void Creatures in the area, much less the sounds of them. This should've made him relieved, but it didn't. [The Swarm has changed, something's wrong here] He thought as he moved forward. The group followed him. "Be on your guard." Trivoc cautioned.
---
Eventually, they reached a part of the Unknown Passage where there was a single Void creature standing guard. Trivoc thought it was a Lumber at first. But as he got closer, he realized that it was actually a Swarm-infested Stranger. Basil, to be more exact.
"Basil?" Trivoc asked, waiting for a response. The Stranger just stared blankly at them.
Trivoc turned to the group behind him. "Stay here. I'm going to see what he does." He told them. He approached the large merchant, clutching his Vanquisher tightly. The Stranger kept looking forward, not minding Trivoc approaching him. The Knight was about a meter away from him, when the Stranger's face turned towards him, and he appeared in front of Trivoc with blinding speed. He touched the Knights forehead, at which Trivoc felt an intense pain.
"AARGH!" He shouted as he crumpled to the ground, passing out.
The group barely had time to react as Basil did the same for each and every one of them.
---
[Oww... My head... Where am I?] Trivoc thought. He looked around, he was in Haven. But it seemed, different. Was it because everything seemed like it was in a shade of grey? Or was it because of the static that he could see at the corner of his vision?
"Squad, ten hut!" A voice said. Trivoc turned and saw a familiar sight. "Knight Elite Firilliad?" He thought out loud. "Squire Trivoc! Get back in line!" He commanded. Trivoc scrambled to his feet and saluted. "Sir, yes sir! I'm sorry, I don't know what got in me sir." He said. Surprisingly, the sergeant pushed him down to the ground with great strength.
"You sorry excuse for a Knight! You don't deserve to call yourself an Isoran! Men, take care of this liability." He said. "What?" Trivoc said, barely having time to comprehend what was happening before the whole 7-man squad started attacking him. He reached for his Vanquisher, but drew out only a Calibur, and a Defender.
He blocked the first attack coming from a Knight in Dusker Armor. "You are pathetic! You will die like a dog!" He said. Trivoc recognized him as they clashed. "Bennyre! Don't do this. Please..." He said. It was no use, his old squad continued attacking him. It was kill or be killed. and Trivoc didn't intend on falling to them.
[No... they're not real... they're dead... they're all dead... it's just an illusion] He thought as he gathered his strength and fought back with great ferocity. blocking an attack, and immediately following with a counter that either knocked the target to the ground, or killed it. The squad didn't stand a chance. Trivoc had remembered all his combat techniques, while the rest fought with boot camp techniques.
Trivoc approached the wounded Knight Elite. "You... Are... A... Traitor..." He said with his last dying breath. "No, I'm not. You're not real... none of this is!" He said defiantly.
"iF yoU ONly kNeW..." A distorted voice said. "What are you talking abo-" Trivoc started, but stopped the moment his memories came back.
According to reports, his old squad was killed by a traitorous Isoran. The killer was never identified. [No... It can't be... did I kill them?] He said as he looked at his hands. He shut his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, he was somewhere else.
[Candlestick Keep... I remember this place] He thought as he wandered around the halls. A Mewkat appeared around a corner and purred at him. Trivoc let the gentle creature approach his fingers. the moment the Mewkat touched him, it changed. It's soft eyes went maniacal, its fangs grew, and it growled for blood.
Trivoc flinched, and saw an unwary Knight in Proto gear enter the area. "No! Get out of here!" He shouted, but the Knight did not hear him. The distorted Spookat ran at the Knight and devoured him as the Isoran in Proto gear could do nothing but scream and bleed.
Trivoc ran and bumped into a Trojan. The creature, instead of smashing him with the gigantic sword, waved in a friendly manner. Trivoc waved back. and suddenly the Trojan's crystal glowed brighter, and it shouted a war cry as it smashed through a wall of the Keep, looking for prey. His comm unit came to life.
"This is Intel Agent Kora. All Knights in the Clockworks, pull out now! The creatures have turned hostile, I repeat, the creatures have turned hostile! Return to the surface and prepare to fight." She said.
[No... No, no, no, no! It can't be... I can't have caused this? It's not possible! Is it? No! This can't be real! Can it?] He forced himself to think. "oNE's JUdgMeNT Of sELf iS fLaWED." the voice said once again. trivoc covered his head in his hands as he sunk deeper into the confines of his own mind.
((Yeah... So basically how this works is: The Swarm takes memory data from you, and then modifies it to turn it into an experience that will make you feel sad, angry, guilty, and every other negative emotion you can think of. Denial will make them sink deeper. How to get out? The victim must reach "Acceptance"))
((Yeah, after i posted that i thought it had been a little too much control...I didn't mean that your guys would randomly end up there either, I would wait until you got there.
@Archemiday-Thebard that would work as well.))
((I'm just going to take the liberty and make my passage two floors.))
As I entered the next floor, I commanded restriction 405 to activate and I deactivated the idea engine. There was nothing except someone in a vog cub coat and a skolver cap. I walked to him and said, "Hi!"
((So, the nightmares are basically show another's back story, right? :3))
((In a sense... It basically takes your memories, and, to put it lightly... "Screws 'em up harder than a starving Snarbolax does to a crippled Chromalisk"
It shows events that happened before, and while the events will have the same result (eg. his squad being killed), the reasons that lead up to the result (eg. Trivoc killing his squad) may or may not be the truth. However, the character will have a hard time telling the difference.
The Swarm may also take recent memories, and make it seem as if it is predicting the future (for example: It takes Archemiday's memories of Dagoon, and has Archemiday fighting Dagoon for some reason, foreshadowing that Archemiday will cause Dagoon's demise). But, as before, the reasons for it will be directed negatively at the character (eg. Archemiday went insane and thought Dagoon was someone else, etc.).
If they survive their mind gauntlet in some way (ie. reaching the stage of "acceptance", or having such strong mental powers that they can break themselves out of the nightmare) without succumbing to insanity, they will awaken at the elevator, but those who haven't conquered it yet will remain asleep, near the elevator, until they do.
EDIT: It can also be symbolic (Such as the Candlestick Keep nightmare). The Proto Knight and Kora's reaction mirrors Trivoc's first experience with the Clockwork creatures (They seemed friendly at first, but they were in truth hostile. His dream just made it seem as i he was the cause of it all).
I just thought it would be a good way to show everyone's backstory, and deeper personalities, since the story seems to be reaching the climax.
Is all of this alright with you Thinslayer? I don't know if I'm crossing the line with this.))
((@Azure: It's totally fine. It's an interesting way to use the Swarm.))
The beast reached inside its chest and pulled out a large, tangled ball of biomatter. As it faded away, the dusky armor of a Valkyrie could be seen. When it had all vanished, the Fallen Valkyrie collapsed to the ground. "MoTHer" the beast said, pointing at her. "SEe? sHe Is UnwEll."
The blob creature then materialized out of Seatus's fur and went over to the Valkyrie. It absorbed into her, and when it came back out, she had transformed into her former self. Her Fallen suit became a Valkyrie suit, and her personal color became white once again. She sat up, and almost cried out for joy at seeing Seatus until the beast grabbed her and returned her to its chest. It didn't seem to recognize that the blob had healed her. The beast then materialized all the Knights and Morai it had absorbed and put all two million of them in Haven. It then looked at Seatus defiantly, as if challenging him to a fight. "I knoW WhaT yOu WeRe doiNG, SeAtuS. I caNnOt Be fooLeD So eaSiLy."
((Seatus is actually being very successful at the moment. He made the creature exposé Gwen, allowing her to be purged. He coerced the creature (though perhaps by accident) to bring back all the Knights and Morai, providing an opportunity to recover them. I think a little more negotiation is in order before they have it out in a fight.))
(Seatus)
I roll my head on my shoulders, my demeanor instantly changing, as I say, "Understood. Where is Mother, and why is she sick. Oh, HEY THEO!" I holler, and see his three siblings. I spread my new Snarbolock ((True Name of the Snarbolax (Doesn't mean you should call Seatus that) namely after the Jabberwock)) wings, and fly forwards toward Theo. "Theo!" I call down, "Use this!" I toss down one of my thorns. "Three-no wait-four against one? That isn't fair." I float down, and withdraw a thorn and wield it toward his siblings. "Family reunions all over the place, huh?" I ask him....I see the book in Thanatos' hands. "Is that...?" I choke out, "the Book of Sold Fates? The Book that Death wields and seals the souls of those whom made a deadly contract with him? Theo, we have to let the souls free, it will only corrupt them the longer they stay in the Book. Do it for your family at least...." My thorn glows a pure white with the red at it's tip. The white particles multiply themselves and fly faster around me. I mumble as the change in me gets stronger, "Twas brillig, and the slithy toves, did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogoves, and the momes rath outgrabe...." I let out a roar that echoes loudly throughout the Core.....
----------------------------------------------------
(Anubis)
A roar, though miles in thousands under me, makes it to the surface. I wae my Gran Faust. It's time, then, for me to attack. I jump onto buildings, and-what the...? My clothes start turning white, and my Gran Faust slowly changes into a Divine Avenger...and my Crest of Almire glows with a newfound light inside. I break my sword to find Argent Peacemakers. How did this happen? Unless...well I am tied to Seatus, so if he is purged, than that makes me-. Oh. Hell. Yes.
Execution Mode: Activated
A white wooden mask goes over my eyes with two black eyes scratched onto it. I quickly drop my shield and step onto it, and command wind to fly us toward the beast. I start commanding the wind in such a fashion that we fly around the huge monster. I put my Argent Peacemakers together, and a skull symbol appears in front of their charge. I shoot, and the skull symbol flies forward, causing damage and try to push the beast away, but it does about as much damage as a butterfly. My bullets also fly into the monster, but those ones don't cause any damage. I continue sending it skull cannon-shots as I fly around it.
(Seatus)
"Sorry Theo, there is a way bigger battle near the...thing," I pat his shoulder, "But, if my Twin Brothers come near this place, they will enter it and help you. I've already sent word to them." I fly down to the monster and wield my thorn. "Millions against one? That isn't fair." I drop my thorn on the ground, "Now it's fair." I call on the waters of Sanctuary, and above me the watery Eye appears, looking at everything before settling it's eyes on the Knights and Morai. I mumble again as I get stronger once more, "Beware, the Snarbolock, my son. The jaw that bite, the claws that catch. Beware the Purified One, and shun, the frumious Vogdersnatch...."
The dragon just cackled and summoned the Eye of the Swarm, the portal to the Void, through which came a torrent of black Swarm seed. The stuff surrounded Seatus and began to assault him on all sides. He felt no pain, however, because the Whitespace still inhabited him and was repelling the Swarm.
Gwen spoke in his head once more: For heaven's sake, don't summon the Eye of the Core! You could let something dangerous out. Seatus could almost see her winking at him as she said that.
Time to break the seal and open the Core.
(Seatus)
I wave my hand down toward the millions, arrows of water taking them down, and reducing them to such divine ashen forms that it would take the Swarm at least a day to revive them. "Give. Me. Gwen." I say, and then she appears in my head, talking....
Break the Seal? That couldn't have been right... "Alice!" I scream, and four flying cards, each an ace of all of the four suits, appear over my head. They spin down in a diamond formation around me, protecting me for enough time to simply think. If I break the Seal, the amount of Swarm inside here would get out...but Gwen will get out as well. Alice needs to be in here though....Gah! The Twins will get here soon enough, with or without Axis. They had minds of their own too...
I know these cards are the keys to opening the Core... Too many things that could happen! I will just focus on the battle at hand. I raise the cards, and they lay flat in a cross formation, with a square hole in the middle. They spin like razors, and I send them across the army's numbers. "You will not leave this place, Child of the Swarm. But Gwen will." I send a watery arrow to his chest.
Axis collapsed in pain as the stranger touched his forehead. He woke up on the surface of cradle. He watched in vain as the Morai mothership collapsed once again. But this time he could hear the screams of each and everyone of his friends. They cried out in pure agony and all he could do was watch. He discovered something in his hand. A detonator. Did he kill and doom his friends? Even if he hadn't destroyed the Mothership, he still fled that day to places unknown, and he had never looked back. He thought even harder this couldn't be true, trickery by the swarm. But all he could see was the horrified faces of his friends and fellow warriors screaming in pain, his screams soon joined the chorus of pure agony.
((@Seatus: you know that Gwen is being stored in the dragon's chest, right? He could accidentally hit her.))
The beast caught the arrow and screeched at Seatus. "YOU FOOL! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED MOTHER!" Enraged, the dragon took in a deep breath and sprayed out a superheated jet stream of black fire, which had the side effect of hurling Seatus quite some distance away.
"Forgive me brother, but I must punish you. I can tolerate your war against myself, but I cannot tolerate a careless assault upon our dearest mother."
(Seatus)
"That water would have only been a splash upon her," I call down, still flying, but knocked quite a ways away. The Twins are closer now. At least they can help Theo. I wave my hand, and all my attacks cease. "Try and attack me, but you will be sorry once the being has successfully made a seal of protection around Alice and the Alpha Squadron." I continue, "And, Dear Brother, I sure hope you have an idea of what I'm about to unleash upon you." I mumble some more, "He took his vorpal sword in hand. Long time the manxome foe he sought. So rested he, by the iron tree, and stood awhile in thought...."
((Sorry for all the edits, I am getting worse at typing on a Wii U))
Ikaros
I blushed as Trivoc edged closer to me and whispered, "Stay close to me, OK?" I nodded and thanked the Clockworks for being so dark; otherwise, Trivoc would have seen my blood-red face. I slept my arm into his and scooted towards him. I felt as if, for the first time in these last crazy days, I'd have some peace.
When we reached the Unknown Passage, we saw a black Stranger, looming over us menacingly. Trivoc went up to it, and the Stranger swiftly poked him in the forehead. He promptly collpased, convulsing. The Stranger did the same to each of us, yet when he touched me, i didn't fall. I simply felt a small stab of pain and growled at him. Drawing my blade, i walked slowly over to him with eerie purpose. The Sramger -who looked a lot like Basil- turned around and ran as fast as his... Whatever was under his robes could carry him. I went over to the others and felt their foreheads. All of them wore pained expressions, as if they were experiencing a terrible nightmare. I grabbed Trivoc by the shoulders and shook him. I slapped him, punched him, even kicked him... In that place, but nothing would wake him. A tear formed in my eye and i started crying, "Wake up, you idiots! Wake up already!"
Finally, out of sheer desperation, i grabbed Trivoc by the head and pulled his mouth closer, kissing him.

First post in a while. :3 now, lets get to the Sanctuary, guys!
Dagoon stood near the dark stranger, until it quickly hit the middle of her head, she had no time to react.
(Dagoon's Mind) She slowly walked towards an elderly figure, sitting on a throne. "You always were a disgrace My Child. . . (I wish I knew how to slant that) Always, even as the leader, YOU made me look like a buffoon." "Father? Is that really y-""Yes it's really me, but you're still a disgrace to me, I never even considered you as my child you Nincompoop!" [ but. . . I tried so hard to be a proper child! even as a child of a pirate! could this even be true?]
Edit: Thankfully nobody (Else?) can see Ikaros right now.
((I'm just going to say kar randomly fainted so I may post))
I carried the stranger on my back. I carried on, and saw someone. Was that... Basil? "Basil! Hey! Hows it goi-". He touched my head, and I fainted. I woke up in the clock works. There was.. Saito! Not in his Ai form, but his real, non recreated form! I attempted to walk towards him, but I couldn't. Morai gaurds were holding me back. I noticed I had something in my pocket. "Arch... Why would you do this? Why would you sell me to these people? I hate you... I HATE YOU! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!". Saito yelled. I felt lonely again. I didn't want to go on. But then I fainted and re awoke in the warehouse. I saw... Ikaros! Arkos! Chappers! Everyone was there and healthy. Except Trivoc was... Dead? The party looked at me with anger. They all charges at me, and I blocked, and blocked. I could not hurt my friends. I won't. I was stabbed, sliced, and shot. 'This is my life? It... It can't be...'. I fainted, and woke up again. I was at my house! But.. It was on fire! I ran inside and found my parents... Dying... I tryed to help them they were already dead. I cried over them. 'Im sorry. What have I done...'. And with that, I was awake in the passage. I grabbed the stranger and the fainted Dagoon and said "Saito, teleport to Trivoc. You saw what happened to me, it could be worse for them.". So I teleportes. The passage managed to shake my teleport about five feet in the air. When I stood up I saw... What. The. Heck. Was Ikaros... Kissing Trivoc? I couldn't resist the urge. I took out my lute and quietly played a romantic song.
((The arch drive is mostly unnafected by hammers, but it can only teleport above itself or to allies.))
((@lim. When a man can teleport...))
Not far away, they spotted a small round of fortifications, behind which was a campfire. Four living (non-Swarm! Yay!) Knights were sitting around it, chatting merrily. One of them, wearing Bombastic, was setting up a mecha turret. His face was covered in Void scars, but appeared to suffer no ill effects. The fanciest knight wor Ceremonial armor (resembles Azure Guardian), an open Azure Guardian Helm, and wielded an Exalted Honor Guard and Lionheart Honor Blade. Another was dressed in a Spiral Warden outfit. The last one was a female, and wore a round helm with mecha wings and a long feather over draped Azure Guardian armor.
Perhaps Ikaros could solicit their help?
((@Limori: The way to slant your words is to type "" and then "<./em>" (Minus the period mark. I only did that so it wouldn't take effect.)))
Chappers
Arkus, its me, Arch. We are heading to the sanctuary, and Thrynn and Trivoc have retrieved Ikaros. Good luck." The comm unit said in Arkus' ear. "I really hope the others are ok." Chappers thought as they entered the Unknown Passage.
"They'll be fine, if they're still alive up to this point.that means they're past the Ice Queen and Rabid Snarbolaxes already." Arkus said. "I think you're starting to rub off on me, kid." He continued, noticing his own logical thinking as well.
---
They had gotten close to the elevator, without being stopped by any Void creatures. [Strange... What's going on?] Arkus thought. Chappers kept his Pepperbox loaded and pointed at all directions.
They suddenly noticed however, that their path was blocked, by a Stranger. It was Plinkop. "Plinkop? What are you doing down here?" Chappers asked, he stopped short when he saw the darkness that covered the Stranger. "Be careful, don't do anything ras-" Arkus started, but Chappers had already unloaded a whole magazine into The Stranger.
Arkus simply sighed as he began his offensive as well.
The Stranger seemed to absorb the shots with the darkness around it, and then proceeded to send the two of them into their own nightmares.
---
Chappers awoke. He was in his mansion home on Isora. "Mother! Father!" He said gleefully as he approached his parents. But his father pushed him away. "Don't you dare speak to us. We've heard about your performance on Cradle, and we are not pleased." His father said.
"But, father... I fought against the Morai and The Swarm, and I lived." Chappers said.
"You lived, but you did not make a difference. How can we call you our son if you bring nothing but disgrace to our family?" His mother said. "You are better off gone. Now, no one will know that you ever existed." His father said, pulling out an old Antigua.
Chappers ran as shots rang out in the mansion [Mother, Father... Please...] He thought helplessly as he searched for somewhere to hide.
Trivoc
He uncovered his face as he saw the fields of Cradle, filled with the bodies of Morai and Clockwork creatures. And in the middle of it, stood a flag of Isora. A sign on the outskirts of the sea of blood and bodies read "The Core has been completely drained of energy and moved to Isora for safekeeping. Cradle is to be destroyed, no survivors will be left"
Trivoc looked up just in time to see The Skylark, and several other similar ships, charge up their Valiance cannons and opened fire on Cradle. The ground shook, and a crevice opened at where he was, sending him into the darkness below. [Are we... the true monsters?... No! We saved this planet... But if we had never discovered it, the Morai wouldn't have either...] He thought as he fell. "tHIS WoRLd wAs BEtteR oFf wITHouT aLL oF YoU" The voice said.
---
Trivoc fell, and fell, and fell. He didn't know how long the fall was, but soon enough he landed on his back. He was surrounded in complete darkness, save for a large spotlight centered on a chair. There was someone sitting there.
Trivoc was almost afraid to approach it, but he felt that h had to. When he had gotten close, the figure on the chair stood up, and turned towards him. "Ikaros?" Trivoc asked. He looked at himself and saw that he now had all of his original equipment. He was relieved to see a familiar face that wasn't trying to kill him. He waked closer. "What are you doing down here? What is this place?" Trivoc asked.
In response, Ikaros flew swiftly towards him and started strangling him. [I thought too soon]
"Urk!" He said as he pulled her hands away from his throat. He managed to push her away, and retreat a few steps. "What are you doing?!" He said as he drew his Vanquisher. He looked at his blade, to see that it was covered in multiple types blood; he tried to count how many there was. [Gremlin, Devilite, Stranger, Morai, Isoran... Where did I get all that? How many people did I kill... No! Stop paying attention to that thing!] He told himself mentally as he looked once again at Ikaros.
Trivoc threw the sword away in disgust. "I'm not going to hurt you!" He said as Ikaros flew towards him and started punching. He blocked the attacks and backed away. Some landed, and it was much more painful than a punch in real life; it was as solid as a Thwack Hammer smash. "Stop it! We're not enemies. Don't you remember me?" He begged as she continued her attacks.
"After all we've been through, this is how you want it to end? What's gotten into you!?" He argued. [What's gotten into her? No... What's gotten into me?] He thought as he glanced at the blood-dripping Vanquisher. "What have I done?"
Ikaros landed a kick in between his legs, which caused Trivoc to kneel on the ground. "The Isorans... Are no heroes. We've killed hundreds for our own selfish purposes. There's no good excuse for that. No matter how much we try to cover it up in grand ceremonies and certificates of heroism, it doesn't make anything we've done less atrocious..." He said out loud as he looked upon Ikaros, who looked much more like a Valkyrie now; a symbol of justice.
Trivoc stood up, and threw away his Aegis and Peacemaker. "I accept my faults. and whatever consequences they incur... Do your worst. I'll still love you." He said as he opened his arms, waiting for the judgment to come down.
Ikaros drew her Divine Avenger and walked towards Trivoc. He expected to be stabbed, straight through the gut, but he received something else entirely.
She kissed him on the lips. she then whispered into his ear. "You have reached the final stage..." She said as she stabbed Trivoc, which jolted him awake.
---
His eyes slowly opened; going from flat to tired
Ikaros face was close to his, her eyes were closed and she appeared to be crying. He clutched her hand and spoke. "Hey... What's wrong?" He said as he noticed music playing in the background, though he paid no heed to it at the moment. He wanted to comfort her in whatever way he could.
((Yup, that thrashing Ika gave Tri... He felt it, especially in the "bad spot" XD.
@Thinslayer: If you want Arkus to have a nightmare, you should probably be the one to direct it, since he's your character originally :).
EDIT: Bah, ninja-ed by Thin XP. Should I change anything? ))
((No need to change anything. Trivoc is no longer knocked out, but the others are still dreaming. The two could still solicit the help of the Odd Squad.))
(Seatus)
And we stand there, face to face. It's minions were no match for a Grand Snarbolax. We just stand there on opposite sides of the room. Theo, still dealing with his siblings. I raise my hand to the side, and speak the third-to-last quote to summon the weapon of all weapons, "And, as in uffish thought he stood, the Snarbolock with eyes of flame. Came whiffling through the tulgey wood and burbled as it came." I hold my right arm with my left to support the amount of directed power it takes to summon the great Vorpal Sword.
"In the event of my Father's birth, his head was cut off my a mere Calibur blade. The one who killed him is still a mystery, but the blade was christened as a Vorpal Sword. It was this great sword that, even when my Father was renewed, stole his Great Power. Us, the Snarbolaxes, are gifted with the ability to summon this sword. But, alas, only once we've achieved the title of the Great Snarbolax...and we can only summon it to have something else use it. I imagine Alice feared we would all be corrupted. Theo, Ikaros and any of her siblings, Gwen, or Anubis, could hold the potential to wield this blade. This is what will cripple you, so look at it while you can. The question is, WHO will send you into this weakened state?" I watch as the blade flickers and appears in my hand, and my arm is instantly weighed down and the sword sticks into the magenta pkatform under me. "Even touching this could send you into a state of confusion for years, so don't get any ideas." my hand is stuck to the blade until another takes it. I can still defend myself with my tail and thorns...
((Please edit your post in my explanation
You see, over the years the Snarbolaxes have fallen away from their ancestor, the great and mighty Jabberwock that resides in a separate dimension. The Swarm and the Core-being have no idea that their biomaterial originates (partially) from the blood of the Jabberwock. The Swarm's descent from the Great Jabberwock stopped as soon as it was put to sleep, frozen in time. But evil grew in the Master's Dreams, causing him and the entirety of himself (the Swarm is more of his body than his actual self) to turn into a giant darkened Jabberwock. There is a catch to being a part of the Jabberwock. If you keep yourself pure on the inside, you will remain all-powerful and immortal. But, if you let sin into your heart, you will be stripped of your invincibility. When my Father started using his power to feed on innocent blood (because you really don't need to eat when you're immortal) Fate sent a brave hero after my Father. He killed the weakened Snarbolax (the power was still IN my Father, but he could no longer activate it. And he was turned mortal) by it's head, and the Sword took the power of the Great Snarbolax into itself. The Core wanted to keep Father safe, so it renews his life whenever he dies. But my Father is now weak and Corrupted....
Now, please edit your post. I gave you an explanation))
((@Archemiday above: They'll recieve your call before they head into the Unknown Passage. I'm just waiting for Gzilla to outline what effects (if any) the stronger Swarm energies have on Axis, before continuing.))
Trivoc
Trivoc was happy to see that Axis had taken his hand. Although, it did feel weird to be allied with a Swarm creature.
"The Sanctuary huh? I hope you're all ready for a fight since the rabids protect the only elevator leading there." The Morai Enforcer said. Trivoc nodded "It's nothing we can't handle." He said as the group went deeper into the ruins.
---
They cut through the dense shrubbery of the Rabid Wolver Den, as the drooling creatures tried to eat them alive. Thrynn was cutting a path towards the elevator, while the rest of them held back the creatures. They came quickly and quietly, for as soon as Trivoc had struck one of them down, another would immediately appear from the shadows, hungry for his flesh.
[Just need to get everyone to The Sanctuary, then it'll be alright] Trivoc told himself as he started getting tired. The fact that Ikaros was there was the only thing keeping him going.
Soon enough, they had gotten close to the elevator, only to be stopped short by a Rabid Wolver pack led by The 2 Rabid Snarbolaxes, twitching and foaming at the mouth. The pack ran at them, barking half-mad with their disease.
Trivoc ran close to one of the bells and called the attention of one of the Snarbolaxes, all the while holding back the Wolvers that had decided to target him. The bells were their weapon, and once the 2 pack leaders had retreated due to their wounds, the rest of the Wolvers would be easy prey.
---
Soon enough, their elevator stopped at the Snarbolax den.
The Swarm energy emanating from the place was strong, much stronger than the one in Firstorm Citadel. [This can't be normal... What caused that earthquake a while back? Did it have something to do with The Swarm?] Trivoc thought as they went into the lair.
He hoped that Axis wouldn't immediately turn on them, in the presence of a Swarm seed (Or the moment they enter The Unknown Passage), but it was a risk they had to take to reach The Sanctuary. They stepped in, alerted the 2 Snarbolaxes to their presence, and the fight begun.
