SILLY LIMINORI I HEREBY PROCLAIM THE STORY POST UNRESPONDABLE.
After Cradle (roleplay discussion thread)(Pact of the Monocled Chromalisk)
GOOD! Or. . oh. . . boll*cks.
I HAVE EDITED THE POST! Nyeeeh.
Silly quexi. . . But then. . . I thought you were in the middle of something. "No matter"
WHERE ARE ZE POOOOooooOOoOoOOSSssttts?!?!?
Which Necron are you talking about in the post?
*calls out survivors of the thread's Awkward War* WHERE ARE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU-R POSTS?! XD
YOU buddy!
Hmm. . . where'd everybody go? Is everyone trapped away from everything because of memorial day.
Unless. . . *checks forums for evidence that the forum is (Cough*) Dead*
Last week of school is mentally taxing.
And I just ran out of rubber cement.
My last week of shcool's already passed. Sorry bout that. (Hugs*)
Next week is my last week. And the last two day are 1st: Four hours and 2nd: 2 1/2 hours...
Does anyone have the creativity to keep a thread alive? I've seen the past RP threads die out faster than they started.
Why doesn't anyone try harder?! (is honestly upset)
I'm currently working on a project that involves a pomegranateton of gluing, and I want to make it go awayyyyyyy
And my brain hurts so I can't do anything.
Why are you even bothering to type? Just asking.
Btw, new post. I will actively be refreshing the story page. I guess we can have an entire "Conversation" within the story thread.
Because it doesn't use that much brainpower.
In all honesty though, I don't feel like typing an entry right now. Not in the mood.
I've been waiting for Ultimaknightz to post. Since he chose to play the Legendary Hero character, more of the story's weight falls on his shoulders. He pretty much needs to post whenever something new happens. When I'm not feeling quite so lazy, I may go over the current story and see if/whether I can post again.
Kaijuhunter has been pretty slack about posting, though. Perhaps he/she doesn't get on much?
Okay, I'm not waiting for anyone. I'm confronting her myself....
I'll post after school today. School for me ends on Monday of next week, which I feel is silly as it could just be on a Saturday. EDIT: okay, fine I lied. I have work and I'll post when I can.
Thanks for the tip, Thin old pal. (Are we pals? :D)
Matthew 23:26
Means that you'll have to understand Evera's past, to understand her right now. Right? My tiny brain unable to process something other than that.
:P
@Thinslayer- I love your portrayal of Evera! It makes for some very interesting content!
~
Now, I again must wonder why yall always try to solve any mystery the moment it arises? Whether yall are right about Thin's plan for Evera or not, that could have been masterfully revealed over time. There's too many pointing fingers. There's no feasible way one could suddenly "figure out" every part of someone's mysterious past. Slight suspicions are perfectly fine. Telling revelations are not. I don't think Thin appreciates having his carefully thought out characters and ideas blown to bits like this.
The verse was meant to suggest that she is cleaner on the inside than she is on the outside. However, it does have the double meaning that some characters in the story look a lot cleaner on the outside than they do on the inside, and they need to clean themselves out.
@Ultimaknightz: actually, Evera's finger movement doesn't represent a meteor shower. It represents the knights falling from the sky.
@Quexi: allow me to explain the mechanics of the Core business. The Core itself is a fully sentient, high-energy organism. Its entire body is trapped inside the shell of the Core, so it cannot utilize its powers outside the shell. In order to influence the world around it, it must use an avatar through which it can channel its thoughts and energies. It does not typically create an avatar from scratch, as that requires creation skills which, believe it or not, the Core does not have. Instead, it selects an avatar from among the existing creatures on the planet. To select an avatar, it telepathically creates a connection, a sort of virtual "umbilical cord," if you will, that allows it to funnel its will and power on the creature.
The creature loses its sentience, and its mind is completely overpowered and essentially replaced with that of the Core.
Disconnection from the Core is a rare, traumatic experience that requires truly epic amounts of teleforce power to perform. Only a few select individuals, most notably Vog, Athena, the Swarm, and Queen Gwenyvier (who is thought to no longer exist) ever had that power at any point. Disconnection returns sentience and control to the avatar, and prevents the Core from using that creature again, forcing it to select a new avatar (if desired).
There is no "Core blood."
@Immortous: Thanks for the compliment. Creating a mute character is quite a challenge!
I have a good grasp of knowledge about what she's "Saying."
Clearly she's talking about in the beginning SHE was cradle's core, and about when the skylark came.
And sometimes, I hate myself for figuring things out too fast, but then again, that's mainly because who I am. May Thrynn explain this, even to Arthur?
One of the few times Thrynn speaks. . .
Oh. Crap. I just now saw your latest post. Now I feel like I cheated AFTER posting.
Well, I guess I was semi close.
After a grueling week of exams, five projects due within the same day, an essay, and over an hour of examining your posts and putting Athena's POV of the events in, I have finally finished my post. Nike! Nike! NIKE! (Greek word for Victory) *drops dead from exhaustion*
Looks like there is no Core Bloods free after all....(known by other names)
Nice post, Kaiju. You should seerusly post more often!
Actually there's only four swarm knights, and they shouldn't have been beaten that easily. Seriously not every single enemy is cannon fodder for you guys.
I would beg to differ if it were a larger amount. Redacting.....
But there's two swarm seeds in the near vicinity, so you have to take into account the massive buff the swarm troops receive.
Well I suppose it doesn't matter, since I just passed out from overuse of strength (disease-caused)
Well, I probably won't end up posting for a while. I have just really not been in the mood for posting here lately.
You guys are battling it out and Ukai doesn't have any (working) weapons. I'll probably let it flow.
Oh also, feel free to powerplay Ukai as much as you like (no shipping please I do all the shipping). I'll let you guys know when I'm writing an entry.
Actually Liminori....I think your mixed me and Quexi's character up there. Commander Malum is the one who's still injured/has the headache/"needs an advil"/etc.
I guess it's too late though, so yeah...just thought I'd say that.
NO, I did not mix you two up, I gave the medicine to him mainly because of how every time his memories put him into a state where he cannot feel, but he is in pain. ):l
At the beginning of the RP, he did his job and went off going all Mr. Bad-***.
But as time went on, he failed to deliver. He wrote his character off either way too weak, or way too strong. For a hero type, he seemed more suitable for a supporting character as a loose cannon. A loose cannon usually wouldn't make a good hero [as shown by that Hancock movie].
It's been kind of an extreme passive - extreme aggressive sort of thing not just for Ultima, but for almost every character in this RP.
I'm a bit disappointed, but I guess it's normal that people want to do their share of the work on this RP. It's just that few are passive or assertive, which wouldn't make the characters so one-dimensional.
All this passive-assertive stuff seems a bit new to me. Do you mind explaining what all that means? I don't want to pass up an opportunity to improve.
The thing is, is that some people have certain natures when it comes to interacting with one another.
Being assertive means being logical, morally and ethically conscious, and refraining from dominating over people, and also refraining from doing nothing if there is a need to do something. A person is usually nice and law-abiding, but they exert a fair [note a fair. Not too much, not too little] amount of discipline when needed to. These people tend to stand up for passive characters, and put down aggressive characters.
Being passive means that a person would place the blame all on themselves, but they aren't willing to do a single thing about it. They usually go along with other people's advice, and refrain from protecting their own personal beliefs, and simply follow others' beliefs. As a result, people that are passive for too long tend to bottle up conflicts, be it external and internal, as well as a storm of emotions. These people tend to lash out more. They are shy and unwilling to stand for themselves, much less others.
Being aggressive means that a person puts themselves above all else, and is usuallly ignorant or in denial of that fact entirely. They follow their own morality and ethics, and refrain from tolerating any other beliefs, even to a drastic measure. Thus, aggressive people are loose cannons, and they usually don't mind speaking their minds. However, they may say too many things that may harm people, and are likely to "bully" others into their own personal beliefs. They are easily able to react to others in hostility, always taking a defensive side, even for positive things.
Both aggressive and passive people are usually weak in a point, whether it would be the ability to interact, the peer pressure, and so forth.
Psychopaths, apathetics, and other unpredictable characters are not the same as aggressive, passive, or assertive. Sanity is a seperate trait entirely.
Now, I'm looking at a lot of shy people mixed in with a lot of aggressive people, as well as characters who spontaneously change from one state into another with little effort. As far as I remembered, shy people tend to observe others in silence, not start up a conversation. Again, I find it odd that a shy person is a front-line charger in battle. I'm not seeing a whole lot of shy characters, which ends up in a LOT of fights between the horde of loose-cannon characters.
It's a really difficult thing to pull off in a character, since the players here want to change their characters as quickly as possible to adapt to the given environment. However, that shouldn't be the case. Rather, it would be more interesting to keep all the character's flaws AND benefits, including their personality, and make a GRADUAL change over time. Otherwise, we end up with a horde of bipolar people, often swinging from passive to aggressive within an instant.
You guys don't move along quickly do you? I mean, usually I would expect more posts. . . Maybe we WOULD have more posts if Archemiday and Seatus were here. . . No, not only that, but the main character (Talkin to you Ultima) Should post more often.
And now? I'm searching through RTC. I understand it had flaws, and it helped me type, but I REALLY wouldn't mind doing something like that again.
Of course, If we ever do get to a continuation, We'd have to round up all the people from last time. . .
This forum isn't very suited to roleplaying, the community included. This roleplay is... pretty okay, but there's too many people with flawed characters and powerplays and things generally not enjoyable in the roleplay experience.
There's also the fact of impatience that annoys me. People are not obligated to post on a schedule or be obligated to post once a day. Hell, they don't even have to post that often.
As for reboots, I feel like we're just beating a dead horse on this one. Almost all reboots die off soon enough, and in their short life, they don't seem to do very well (though there are exceptions).
Anyway, I'm probably not gonna post for a while. I'm roleplaying somewhere else for now.
@Vinnydime- You brought up some very intriguing points there. I'm curious though, how do you view my character? Not that I'm exempt from any of what you already said, but I'd just like to know. This being my first time writing in a RP or fanfiction and all.
~
@Liminori- Where'd you get the idea that Ultima was writing the main character? No seriously, where did you come up with that one? And I'm sorry, but I think it's safe to say RTC won't be rebooted anytime soon...
~
@Aekuryi- I agree with the impatience part. I don't have the time to keep up with the pace that some of us here are wanting, so my character has fallen behind a couple times.
Maybe we don't have to reboot RtC. Perhaps all we need is to make a RtC-wannabe, like...say, "Overpowered Wars," where every character is required to be overpowered.
Wonderful idea. I feel like it will sit well in these forums.
@Immortous
You're doing just fine, you've got all the basics and all down.
@Thin & Aekyuri
Wanna do an invite-only kind of RP? I'll have to tear out the wheat from the chaff, and it may seem mean, but that's what it'll be. I'm open for another RP [handling two on a different site, one on here].
Tell me, what site(other than the Spiral Knights Forums) do you roleplay on? Also, nice advice. :) Listening to it from a different perspective with actual advice is awesome constructive criticism, that is, if there are no insults involved. :P
@Thin
Overpowered Wars? Really? -.-
@Aekuryi
LOL
It's hard to take that all into account when your avatar is a tree. :P Don't take this as an insult, though. Your analysis of the forum's roleplayers was quite good.

The site I frequent at.
~~~
@Ultimaknightz
As I did stated earlier, your charcters like to tilt quickly to one side of the spectrum too quickly. Thus, the sotry is a little bit choppy, since you are playing the main character.
Ultima's slot - Legendary Hero
NO? l:( Also, If I said rebooted, NOT WHAT I MEANT!
Sigh. . . A Continuation of RTC. D:<
Well, Kaiju is playing a legendary hero as well...
But I guess since Kaiju is supposed to be one of the mods the "main character" slot does fall on Ultima.
Also, I realized you actually did say continuation, rather than reboot. My apologies.
~
@Everyone-
So....are yall already about to give up on this RP so soon? I say, we finish this battle, and then quit rushing from one depth to another battle, etc. etc.
I'm still waiting on others to post.
@Vinnydime: I've attempted to join your RP on that website. :)
When could this OP Wars start?
And for the sake of the title, what about "Rise of the New Gods"? And maybe be about Cradle falling into a chaos of lands, separated by the Operators, dubbed for their shaping of Cradle after a series of Great Disasters, which were caused by a mysterious force. But the Operators are corrupted, and either seek out a way to end their corruption, or seek out those who look, to stop them from knowing a horrible truth.(OR A FREE FORM ;D)
Races: Knights (Damage Type Dealers(Normal, Piercing, Shadow, and Elemental)),
Magi (Status-Effect Dealers (Sleep, Stun, Fire, Freeze, Shock, Curse, and Poison))
Shamans (Summoners of Monsters (Gremlins and Devilites excluded, everything else available))
Others (given one power at random, power-level varied/ Any Race)
Eternals (God like beings, given one power and power level varied, whom simply live/exist. They are the Operators.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
O_O Hope I get a response...
The RP will start when enough people show interest. I've got the basic story figured out.
The Core has been opened, and the massive amounts of energy it dispersed into the planet allowed the inhabitants to modify, adapt, and strengthen themselves far beyond their wildest dreams. Insects became like the greatest warriors, and the greatest warriors became like deities. But with great power came great pride, and blood was shed in ever more spectacular ways. You are one of these inhabitants. Will you change the world for the better, or will your blood be spilled like everyone else's?
That's the story so far. The RP is mostly free-form, along with most of the standard rules.
Thinslayer, you didn't make a move at all in my RP on the other site.
MYEEHHHH~~~~~
SILLY QUEXI, I HEREBY POST ON THE STORY THREADDDD~~~~~~~~~~
