Ugh, these posts are coming fast and furious. >:(
The source of the Master's power is an important secret to the story. I can't tell you yet. ;)
By the way, the Swarm copies were actually created shortly after the Master appeared.

Ultima, I'm just going to lay down some guidelines to help you.
- Powerplay is controlling another's actions. The slightest one on this site is NOT allowed.
- Know your role. You can't force the Swarm forces to come to Haven, especially if your role is the HERO character, not the mods, not the villains, nothing else. Focus on YOUR character, and nothing else.
- Cooperate with us. You've got some ideas going on here, but you need to work with everyone else. Please don't make your own giant chunk of the way you want events to go, because then nobody else gets to actually "role-play" if everything's predetermined by you, especially if you're slamming in post after post.
I get your drift. But perhaps you were intending for me to 'eat your dust', right? :P But anyways, since Athena was following Nathaniel, Kaiju could write about how the swarm copy attacked Athena, while Nathaniel tried to break the barrier. That would be the perfect reason as to why Athena didn't attack Nathaniel while he was trying to destroy the barrier, and would give Athena all the more reason to try and kill Nathaniel.
I know my role, yes. However, I did not 'force' the Swarm forces to come to Haven. Perhaps it was in one of my ideas, but never did I say that the Swarm HAD to come to Haven. And I'm only giving ideas. Nothing's predetermined by me in this RP except for my own character's actions, which you, presumably, haven't noticed. So yeah. Didn't I say I was already going to follow your advice? :P
@Ultimaknightz: The role of Legendary Hero is not a license to power play. It is a license to be awesome, and it's something I take into account when writing up story additions. To be honest, I was half-inclined to let the power play sit for that reason.
It may be helpful to review the roles we are assigned.
*Legendary Hero: these characters are intended to be the shining stars of the story. Whether they have super powers or just a really stupendous reputation (like the Master Chief from Halo), they are the sorts of characters that all the others look up to and admire or abhor. They typically serve as the main characters and the main driving forces behind the story. It's a very important role, and not something that the player should be rushing into.
*Commander Hero: these characters are squarely in the middle between "underdog" and "legendary." They don't have any stupendous powers or an amazing reputation, but they're not exactly underdogs, either. They typically serve as supporting characters who often give sage advice or sacrificially die, but in a roleplay like this one, they serve in the role of "everyday heroes."
*Underdog: these characters have untapped potential. They could someday turn into Legendary Heroes, but they aren't there yet. They are often riddled with problems holding them back, and stories involving them usually depict their struggles with these problems. And in the end, they usually become victorious and famous. Some underdogs have a few characteristics of Legendary Heroes (like Link from Legend of Zelda having the Triforce of Courage!), but for whatever reason, it isn't enough to make them legendary (in Link's case, he's just a kid).
*Minor: these guys exist solely to highlight the other characters in the story. They could be grunts in an army, the random soldier that falls off a cliff to illustrate the danger, or the whispering passerby whom the hero overhears. They pop up only once and are never seen again.
It seems that I haven't created a slot for supporting characters (that's in the middle between Underdog and Minor). I'm not sure we need such a slot.
In your story post you stated that the Swarm is resistant to all shadow attacks. 2 things.
1. In-game, everything deals normal damage against Swarm voids. So that means in here all weapons should do normal-type damage against the Swarm. Obviously the weapons of Legendaries would pack a more powerful punch than that of commanders.
2. If number 1 is unheeded, it makes my character totally useless in combat against the Swarm, because his arsenal only consists of shadow-type weapons.
[I spoke. "First off, wh-"
My speech was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps coming from the south gate of Haven. Using my enhanced vision, I saw hundreds of armored Swarm-infused troops coming towards the south gate of Haven.
I immediately de-materialized my swords and commanded,"Now's not the time for fighting. Using my enhanced vision, I saw tens; no; hundreds of Swarm-infused troops marching towards the south gate of Haven right now. So whoever wants to weasel out of this, now's the time."
None of them answered back.
"Good. Now go towards the sout-"Again my speech was interrupted, this time by a knight-like figure crashlanding somewhere in the midst of Haven's town square.
"You guys go to the south gate and hold them off, at least until I come back. I'll go check out that thing that crashlanded. Hopefully it'll be another knight who'll help us in the battle to come. Expect to see me soon." With that, I gestured for them to leave and I ran towards where the thing crashlanded.]
Your role is a Legendary Hero. I thought that the exact arrival of the Swarm forces would be up to the decision of Gzilla and Thin, the ones that do have roles that can do that. I guess that noticing the Swarm is alright, but when they hit is up to the other players. And of course, you decided to SKIP their actions and to go on with it. That also might be powerplay. Sho....yeah....
[More power surged into me as the sphere became more powerful. I struggled to keep it under control, but it was just too much for me to comprehend. I lost control, and let go of the sphere. It was shot on the ground below the barrier, creating a huge explosion, its radius covering Haven. The last thing I saw before blacking out was the barrier cracked a little bit more, with the man in it still smiling.]
And my other pointer here. I also did say to refrain from posting before anyone's approval, because now the other players might be a little confused as to what happened in the fight.
You could've just posted it here first for approval.
It just fit the whole look of the Swarm, I mean the Swarm already seems to be something that revolves around darkness.
Oh my......yall have a lot of time on your hands. That, or you can just produce these stellar posts in just a few minutes.
Alright....it looks like I'm gonna have to get on the ball here!
~
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the battle is over, and Nathaniel just did some explosion thing and wiped out anyone in a close proximity?
I think it's still going on, but Nathaniel is going into super saiyan mode or sumfin.
Why has no one reacted to the ~50 simultaneous explosions all around them? I'm waiting for someone to react to me before I post my next thing, so yeah. Oh, and another FYI: not all Chromo's bombs are remote activated, those are just some special ones he got.
I think I could have Ukai react to the bombs, I'll get working on the next entry.
Oh.....dang it. I just typed up a huge long post about the aftermath.....
The battle scene is already a bit confusing, but everything works out so far.
~
@Dmatter- I think between your explosions, The Master, and Nathaniel's explosion of doom, nobody is quite sure what's going on. I'm having my character check it out soon, so get your trigger finger ready!
@Everyone- I'm getting the impression that half of you thought the battle was over, and half didn't. Was my post alright then? I just figured it would help clarify the situation. There's going to be many more battles as well I presume!
Made the explosion happen in my character's point of view.
We need to finish this battle soon. Things are getting really confusing.
I uh....tried to in my last post. The others didn't take the hint.
Question: Can I take Nathaniel in for interrogation while he's still unconscious?
Well, the "invasion" should be over once it's morning, which is when the Swarm can't really fight at its fullest.
Think of them as vampires (the terrifying and non-sparkly ones).
The battle should be over by now, albeit briefly, since Axis is instructed to wound Nathaniel (and nobody got around to fighting their doppelgangers). Also, I have no problem with Nathaniel being interrogated, but I'm not his player, so Ultimaknightz will have the final word on that.
Ooh is there a love triangle on the horizon?? =3
Actually, I want my character to befriend Athena, but if you really, really want to interrogate him, be my guest. Just know that he can easily break out of cells. :)
Axis will be the one interrogating Nate if anything.
OH. So when I'm unconscious, you both can say that you found each other trying to take Nate's body, and you guys started to fight. The other characters can join in. Oh yeah. Remember that since you were both hit by the explosion caused by Nate(and he himself was hit), you both are injured. So don't expect to run up walls or anything. READY SET GOOOO :)
Axis was no where near the explosion, Immortous' character got hurt, not mine.
I can't currently think of a good way to advance my character's story, so I'm just thinking posting something along the lines of "since the the attack was done, I went back to base" but of course much more well written. I of course, Have no idea where base is (my character does, but I don't.) so, yeah. where is it/ where should I go?
I wasn't under the impression that I was hurt in the explosion either. Since I never posted during the battle, I wrote it from the perspective that I never knew Nathaniel did his mumbo-jumbo thing and went boom. I think I'm alright. ;)
Just an idea, but the doppelgangers could cause more problems. Since they're Swarm, they ARE weakened during the day, but that doesn't stop them from acting like their counterparts. My idea is that they'd look human except for their eyes, in which case their irises would be magenta instead of a normal color. I'm suggesting this because I think a little more chaos would be interesting, after all the fighting is done, that is.
Someone post a reaction to Axis' attack. *Looks at Immortous and Thin*
@Dmatter Unless you want to help spread chaos around Haven by attacking
@Aekuryi
Seems good.
@Gzilla- Sorry, I was busy typing my reaction out! I hope you don't mind! =O
@Gzilla- Haha, alright. Let's dance!
~
@Thin- I hope you don't mind the minor thing I posted about Winter fighting next to Feron to protect Nathaniel!
~
@Ultima- Well, no one's interrogating anyone right now, so now would be an opportune time to weasel your way out of the situation. =P
@Immortous: normally I wouldn't mind, but...take a look at her character application and tell me what her weapons are.
Hint: she can't fight.
@Gzilla: I'll look into it when I get the chance.
Should Nathaniel wake up now? I think he should, right before Axis inflicts a wound on him. Nathaniel will probably roll to the side, summon his swords and fight Axis. :P
The choice is yours. However, if he is infected, his struggle with corruption would be classic, and defeating it would be an impressive feat. *hint*
This sure went fast... Slow down, will ya? I haven't had the time to do a post, and you guys keep updating the story so that what I had written becomes irrelevant. Then the cycle restarts. I can't keep up... D:
But remember, he has the purest of light in him(Holy Light). That light will fend off any darkness other than Chaos, even when he's unconscious. So I'm not really sure how he's gonna be corrupted. :/
@Kaiju
Heh. Too active for your own good? XP
And yet the swarm is the darkest evil, so I think it's pretty evenly matched.
Correction; CHAOS is the most corrupted darkness. Didn't I already mention that in one of my posts? :/ Chaos being the original darkness that fought against Holy Light? Does it ring a bell? The swarm is nothing but a bunch of fakers who seem to have darkness capabilities, though their 'darkness' is nothing compared to the power of Chaos. So I still don't know how Nathaniel will be corrupted. I expect the Master to have his powers not from the Swarm, but from somewhere else. Perhaps a different planet. But all I know is that the swarm is NOT the most powerful darkness, or the most corrupted one, and that I still don't know how Nathaniel will be corrupted. So yeah.
Perhaps the Swarm is Chaos darkness?
At any rate, don't over-think it. Even the Core, which is brightest of all, fears being corrupted, so Nathaniel can hardly be immune.
If you gotta choose between story and lore, choose story, and make up the lore later. xD
I JUST HAD THE BRIGHTEST IDEA EVAHHHHHHHH
So after the Holy Light and Chaos angels were 'exterminated'(or so they thought), the swarm wasn't created yet. Then after one incident at the Owlite Keep, the swarm was created. It turned Owlites and Kats into swarm infected beings who sought out the power of Chaos from ancient texts telling the story about how there was Chaos and Holy Light. So the swarm infected beings tried their best to get Chaos, to no avail. The best they reached was normal darkness, but they managed to manipulate it in such a way that it would have a poison sort of effect. Then they managed to manipulate the darkness into things like crystals and weapons. They managed to subdue the darkness for a short while, though it was never permanent. And to this day, even the swarm are afraid of being corrupted.....
That's all I've got for now. XP And thanks for the advice. Oh yeah; and Nathaniel will fight back from the corruption, though Axis will land the strike before Nathaniel wakes up.
Still don't think that the swarm should be a cheap rip off of this "chaos". If anything I think that the swarm should be the main villain for this. The LAST time we got too involved in lore things got....confusing. (RtC)
Let's stop overcomplicating the lore. No more "holy & chaos" stuff; does it really make a difference anyways, except to feed the egos of those who have it? Does anyone care whether Nathaniel's light is better than mine, except Ultima? Do the readers really care?
It feels like the only reason "holy & chaos" light & darkness exists is to make Nathaniel more powerful. No one else really cares otherwise. Ultimaknightz, I'm cutting it all off. Any further references to "chaos darkness" vs "normal darkness" will be ignored in the story.
You will have to make do with unmodified "darkness."
I have to make that decision for both fairness' and story's sake.
Finally posted. Any problems with mine?
You guys do this fast..slow down and wait for meee!!
Ultima, the copies were a;ready made. You ignored the one assigned to kill you.
