A little logic

Just because electricity is the only phenomenon dubbed energy does not exclude other forms of energy. In other words, failure to state it's existence does not imply non existence. Chemical and kinetic energy could very well exist in SK, even though it is not mentioned as such, because of the above reason.

and so it was decided between all of the spiral order that biohazard bullets shall travel extremely slowly by law, taking almost 2 days for it to reach its destination. It was also decreed in this law that they shall not be noticed by anyone during its flight, unless they are to defect from the spiral order. Any complaints with this law must be given to the imposto-cube out front and there shall be a 1 month waiting period, in which you must wait patiently out in the foyer...

Also, on an unrelated note, how do you cancel italics and other stuff? because when I put (< em >) it just continues to be italics all the time unless I press enter twice. Even if I put (< em >) again it just continues, so yeah.

Indeed it would. Perhaps each tribe puts emphasis on different areas of life as well. There could be war-like tribes, knowledge-lovers, etc.
Their fighting styles/techniques could differ as well, which again explains everything plot-wise as well.

In any case, Quexi's tribe could be called the Watchers, since they cannot really draw blood from another being unless it draws their blood. Quexi's parents believed a bit strongly in their tribal religion, and when Quexi was born they sacrificed themselves to their certain gods, and left Quexi with a living disease inside of him that kills him a little more when another creature's blood is drawn, not mattering if the creature draws his blood or not. The disease has been known to give him...strange behavior, at some times and...violent behavior other times.

Actually, Axis is freed from whatever you did. To teleport the swarm kills the physical being, and just uses more swarm resources at a swarm seed to rebuild whatever they teleported, so Axis is technically getting a new body every time he teleports.

Since when does the Swarm sleep......? To vastly simplify this, Axis is just the Swarm in a humanoid form. Your character's whole inception dream-within-a-dream-within-a-dream shtick shouldn't work on him. (Unless Gzilla consents that is.)

Again Quexi, must I continue to remind you that none of the characters have actually met your character yet? Encountered, yes. Introduced, no. So your character shouldn't know all of their names already.

What's our next move? Gzilla just sent a pack of void wolvers and some devilites towards us. Thus, we have to fight them.

Also, you still don't understand the concept of character slots. Your character's portrayal is still not in line with the slot.

A bit confused

I've noticed that a lot of you have been calling Axis by his name. Even though he's never formally introduced himself to the group. I'm seeing this mostly with Ultima and Quexi. Also, the next time Axis appears, can he at least be able to fight Athena 1 v 1? Seriously every time I tried to do that one of you stepped in and proceeded to single handedly beat him.

Do you not understand the myriads of information I tried to explain to you in the simplest way possible?

Do you want to know how you were the first to bring science into this? Check post #369 on Page 8, and if you can't find that contradiction I'll point it out for you:

"Scientifically-speaking, light is pure energy. " quoted from the FIRST SENTENCE in post #369 made by YOU, which was after I asked why Gwen could control light energy. You have contradicted yourself in trying to win the argument. Good try, though.

When I objected to light-based energy, it was because Gwen supposedly controlled the Core's energy. As we all know, the Core's energy can ONLY power up machines(eg:Elevators, mecha-knights, armor). However, the energy you were talking about was the energy all around us. The energy that is used everywhere. For example, kinetic energy. Movement. Potential energy. The amount of energy something is holding due to its position(like when you compress a spring). Potential energy associated with Gravitational Energy, etc. If Gwen controlled all forms of energy, wouldn't she be able to easily manipulate the universe easily, thus making her somewhat close to being omnipotent and god-tier? Of course not, since she's controlling the CORE's energy, and the energy the Core gives comes in the form of electrical energy, NOT any other form of energy.

Also, I'm not saying that chemical and kinetic don't exist on SK. I'm saying that the energy Gwen controls is neither of those, but is electrical energy, since the Core's energy is known to only be able to power up machines. Do not confuse it with me saying that that energy doesn't exist in SK.

Nevermind. You'll probably still want Gwen to be omnipotent, even though it is logically impossible in the fictional sense and the realistic sense for a person to be more powerful than the source from which she gains her power.

I know full well that everyone's taking sides with you, so there's no point in arguing anymore. You can make Gwen as omnipotent as you want. I just hope that my arguments will at least influence your decision on her powers a little bit, or the myriads of information I've wrote against you would've been for nothing. Glad this argument's over, because I'm feeling really down at the moment. :( I'll probably write up an entry later, though your characters will probably purposely ignore me again. You won the argument. Woohoo.

By the way, the fallacy in question is "argument from silence" (not hasty generalization; I had to look up the name. :P). Ultimaknightz interpreted SK energy properties as an exhaustive list, so if SK is silent on any other properties (like light), those properties are not included. This line of reasoning is fallacious, IF it is known that SK energy properties were not, in fact, intended to be exhaustive. I believe that's why it's considered an informal fallacy.

It's important for me and Ultima to have this discussion because it has implications for the rest of SK lore. If SK lore is an exhaustive record of everything in the game, then creativity is necessarily restricted. Naturally, that isn't good for creative RP writing, is it?

She's your character, after all, and you could have just stood up for your rights as her creator to define the way energy works for her. Doesn't have to be stretched like taffy.

Part of the problem is my limited human mind: I do not think of the most concise arguments until later in the debate, at which point they are nearly useless in shortening it. I also cannot often bring myself to brute-force my way through a problem, preferring rather to bring my opponents to my point of view, rather than brushing them aside.

I believe the 'fallacy' you pointed out was just a mere misconception about my argument, when you failed to read through it in even the slightest bit of detail. You see: I didn't say that SK's energy doesn't emit light energy, or that it doesn't give off heat energy when powering machines. I only said that because SK's energy was not familiarized as light energy(which consists only of light), or kinetic energy, or potential energy, and since it can easily power up machines, and electricity is the only known thing that can power machines up, it doesn't seem like any other form of energy than electricity. As the wiki states:

'nearly every machine the knights encounter run on energy, including the Spiral Knights' own power armor.'

Now, energy is sorted into many different types. But since SK's 'energy' somehow instantaneously powers up machines, we can tell that it is not kinetic energy(movement), nor is it potential energy, or gravitational potential energy, or any other form of energy other than electricity, for that matter. Even if you used your kinetic energy to turn a crank which would create electricity, it would not seem that the energy in Spiral Knights gives you the power to move. Instead, the 'energy' in Spiral Knights powers up technology, thus leading me to believe that it is electrical energy. Also, would you really find kinetic energy almost instantaneously powering up mecha knights and elevators which don't have cranks on them that you can pull and push to create electricity? I don't think so.

As I have said before, it's not that there is no other form of energy on Cradle. It's just that the energy given by the Core somehow powers up machines, which is what electrical energy does, not kinetic energy or heat energy. And since Gwen controls the energy from the Core, it would make more sense for her to have electric-based abilities. But if you would allow her to have control over ALL types of energy(or as you would say, 'energy'), she would be near omnipotent and would be more powerful than the source from which she gets her powers, which wouldn't really make sense.

Try to listen to me, Thinslayer. I don't want your character to become a complete and utter god-tier omnipotent character who can easily travel at the speed of light and change gravity itself. :(

Simply raw power that once placed animates the machine? Electric-based abilities would lean her heavily towards the Shock category. And, eventually, she would get ridiculously off-balanced.

I also noticed you focus on certain "m" words. :3

Let's just think of energy as a raw power that holds potential to do anything, and the more energy you have, the more potential and powers it could be used to activate. Like energy being raw power to birth different status effects. She's just a Mod, not a hero....

I think you're getting tad bid confused. Yes, I know that many things can cause electricity to be formed. But a power source other than electricity.... That's a completely different story, pal.

It is an indirectly observed quantity which comes in many forms, such as kinetic energy or potential energy, or etc. And even if energy was changed to have the potential to do anything, and Gwen had the energy of A PLANET'S CORE FOR GOODNESS SAKE, Gwen would be given reality-warping powers and would be even more omnipotent than she already was since you stated that it has the potential to do ANYTHING. Completely and utterly god-tier. She would probably even be able to make her own universe.

But please; I feel like arguing no longer. I have caused enough trouble for Thinslayer; I do not want you to be as offended at me as he might be. :( I just hope that Thinslayer takes my arguments into account, and edits Gwen's powers slightly so that she is not near omnipotence, if not omnipotent.

There probably is, but in this sense I am making energy a POSSIBLE example. Electricity is simply the power that's on Earth that we understand.

I never said energy WAS raw power, I said we COULD THINK of it that way.

I don't see the problem of her being omnipotent if this "Great Spirit" is omnipotent as well. I can't think of a reason not to have her omnipotent. She's a MOD!

Quexi, what you don't understand is that the power of our God is beyond our reach. The 'Great Spirit' is a representation of God in Spiral Knights. Now, the power of our God is beyond human comprehension. Simply giving it to a mere mortal who sins would be insane. Even Thinslayer would agree that God would not allow a mere mortal to gain omnipotence and control the universe.(Don't let this get into a religious argument. :P) Anyway, do you know why most RPers hate god-tier characters? It's because they don't want complete reality warps and feel the feeling of insignificance, seeing as to how the god-tier characters can wipe them out from existence in less than a blink of an eye. That wouldn't be fun.

So please, let's just get on with the RP and stop arguing. I don't like arguing that much anymore, so I don't find this argument to be that fun to be in.
