I was wondering how a costume works. Does it go over your equipped armor (to be seen by all players and myself) but then the equipped armor is the one that takes damage? Also will a costume be seen on a mission? Example: Equipped=Skolver Coat, Costume=Vog Cub Coat Will the Vog Cub Coat be seen by the players and enemies but the Skolver Coat take damage?

If I have the recipe for something that needs an earlier version to make, like the Searing Edge which needs the Hot Edge, is there any benefit to leveling up the Hot Edge before I recraft it into the Searing edge? Or should I just hurry up and make the Searing Edge?

I really don't want to spent any money on CE just to be able to play the game. And it seems that making profitable runs on the higher tiers gets more and more difficult (at least thats how it seems on just reading the forums) Is it possible or even allowed to make 2nd characters and then transfer the crowns over to my Main Character? I enjoy playing the game but I feel like theres a time limit on this game when once you use up your 100 energy you have to wait a full 22 hours to enjoy the game again.

hi, im been playing sprial knight for about 3 days, already in T2. In arena or like the last wave of mobs, my fps tends to drop like crazy! It gets really hard to use a sword and not die. So i kinda figured that i would be more use to my team if i used a bomb or a gun but im nt sure which is better. Can someone here advice me on which one i should focus on? And if possible, list a few good weapons to aim for. Thanks!

I have 1 question, is it really true that you can change the controls scheme in Spiral Knights?

So, joining Spiral knight 2 days ago, giving me a playtime of 2 days total, exept for 5 mins today.
I have had a blast, let me summerise it shortly.

Never had a break, managed to get so much energy that I could upgrade my gear, and always have a exact amount of energy so I could get cash for another 100 CE.

So, I thought hey this game is easy, my friend told me yesterday the original price for floors is 10.. now I got a bit bummerd out.
At what level can I get that self-going again without needing to wait for energy?

1. How do I craft things? What can I craft?

2. What do I need to craft what?

3. Is there certain levels of crafting?

4. What is crafting good for?

Is it possible to assign certain weapons to certain hotkeys?
E.g.:
Z = Levi
X = DA
C = [random gun]
V = [random bomb]

I hate to "scroll" though my weapons, I keep selecting the wrong weapon :P.

i have just learnt the recipie for this sword and i have the materials, crowns and energy needed to create it but i cant press the transmute button! is there something im doing wrong here?

I'm kind of new to the game and I find it easier to solo and only join parties when I feel that my internet is not running as fast as it should be. Recently, I was told by someone that you receive more crowns (excluding materials) when you are in a party of four people than if you were alone. Is this true? Has anyone tested this?
