Improving Recon and Guardian capping ability

We all know that Striker is the dominant class in Lockdown. Strikers deal more damage and cap better than any other class.

Many people want to rebalance Lockdown by removing health trinkets, but suppose that never happens. As an alternative, what if the Recon and Guardian classes were given better capping ability? By this I mean:

  • Guardians and Recons can walk faster than an unboosted Striker (including Strikers wearing Black Kat)
  • Guardians and Recons can cap at 2X the rate of a Striker

These boosts would only apply to uncloaked Recons.

Elite Beast Monster - Spiraltail

  • Suggestions

Beast monsters have a severe lack of enemy variety. We have dust bunnies (minis), chromalisks (grunt), wolvers, (grunt), and alpha wolver (brute). That leaves so many enemy spawn types left open (elite, healer/support, giant, turret).

Well, how about get an elite-tier monster involved - a spiraltail! It doesn't necessarily have to be a spiraltail, but the beast would be themed around a monkey.

Starlight Cradled themed Lockdown Map

We've gotten several new lockdown maps recently. Hardcore mode hasn't been back for a little while so I was thinking "hey, why not make hardcore mode come back with a sleep themed map?"

While any layout would work, I dreamed up my own idea of what such a map could look like in paint.net. Here's a quick idea at what it could look like. Note: this picture is not to scale, but simply a mockup idea.

LayZeez (Sleep themed Devilites) on "some" Starlight levels ;)

There will be blankets on the ground that LayZeez will sleep on top of with just enough space to easily maneuver around them and avoid stepping on them. Each blanket will have one LayZee sleeping on it. If you do step on one of these blankets you will wake the LayZee sleeping on it. Once a LayZee is woken up it will throw pillows at you damaging you and possibly putting you to sleep. You can either kill it or put it back to sleep by using a sleep bomb or by using a Sloombargo. Once asleep it will not attack you unless you wake it up again. They do like to sleep after all.

Putting damage vs family in LD

Submitted by Sir-Pandabear on Wed, 06/07/2017 - 07:54

  • Suggestions

I know, I know, this has been suggested before, one time even by myself. How about this variant, though?

  • Damage vs Beasts -> Strikers
  • Damage vs Gremlins -> Recons
  • Damage vs Fiends -> Guardians
  • Damage vs Undead -> Knights holding Swords
  • Damage vs Constructs -> Knights holding Guns
  • Damage vs Slimes -> Knights holding Bombs

The exact mapping can be debated, but I think it could stir up the meta, make the choice in gunslinger armours more interesting.

Yet Another Rarities Thread - Y.A.R.T., if you will.

Well, will you look at that, it's yet another thread about rarities(Although we haven't seen one in a while). So yeah, rarities are a thing, and they could use some improvement.

First, some data.
On a previous thread, I tried to share that spreadsheet I made, but it failed. Well I improved it and found that I could link it using Google Drive. The link can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jSwkuVoZPXO717Hvu75lh1ue4MePmOUP...

Token Black Market

Submitted by Fangel on Fri, 06/02/2017 - 17:21

  • Suggestions

Pretty simple idea. As it stands right now we can exchange tokens for materials, right? That was much more important in the past when materials were harder to get, but now they're extremely abundant, killing the purpose of really buying materials with tokens.

However, sometimes players will be mass crafting items and need loads of materials, and even then the token system isn't much of a help.

Revising and Balancing Lockdown

Yes, we all know lockdown needs balancing, but I'm going to try to suggest a few ideas, since Grey Havens is putting in a bit of effort into it(Hardcore Mode, Guardian Shield buff).

First, let's talk classes.
I noticed that a few people(including myself in the past) suggested having a different type of pvp without the classes. This, obviously doesn't work. All pvp needs is for these classes to work is changes to lockdown's fundamental classes, because they just don't feel balanced or fun.

😸 Kat Hiss, Kat Claw, & Kat Eye Armors Don't Merit Wicked Whiskers

Submitted by Cheshireccat on Fri, 06/02/2017 - 09:31

  • Suggestions

I bet there is an existing suggestion thread for this, but I checked the first 30 pages of Suggestions posts and couldn't find it.

Kat Hiss, Claw, and Eye sets are well balanced and specialized pieces of gear. They are not OP like the Black Kat set.
But Whiskers are really hard to come by. The only real way to get them is to pay 4kE for a run or to hunt nonstop for ~4-5 Kataclysms.

Anyone putting in that much effort isn't going to bother making these armors. They're going to make a BKR.

😸 Skelly Set == The *ONLY* armor set without 5* branches

Submitted by Cheshireccat on Fri, 06/02/2017 - 08:54

This suggestion's pretty short and sweet.

Every helm/armor line beginning at 2* has at least two 5* options, EXCEPT for Skelly.
Go ahead and check. I'll wait.
