Clockwork Heroes RP [discussion][APPS CLOSED]

I like the team comp, they seem well balanced and the characters personalities are different enough to keep things fresh. The interesting part's going to be when each squad starts to work on their teamwork, I can imagine some friction happening.

This leaves Den and Chaela to be accounted for. I'd suggest Den speak up about joining the squad, and Chaela to come in/chase after them.

Good insight; I hadn't thought of that. We could still incorporate it; squad comp probably won't survive the Crash anyway. Besides, Cherub's squad has too much estrogen in it. xD

Do you mind me asking why you want to swap Tor and Aralon?

The reason I ended my post the way I did is because I'd imagine the evacuation isn't too far away, then leading to the crash.

Actually, if you think about it, There are only two females in the squad. Cherub is a male, as is Titan, and Skyla lacks a gender completely. There are no more females than males on Cherub's team.
Also, I had cilia make a valid point about the squads. Should we continue as is or mix them up a bit?
@Hexlash: nice idea! To further this, could everyone's coms malfunction/break after the crash? That would make Filia and Skyla the sole link between the teams, meaning that connection would be even more important.
@Root-kit: friction? How so? Your character is slightly untrusting of Jason, but that's about it. Anyone who is unnerved or fearful of Filia isn't even on her team, and everyone, including her, is acting rather amiable to everyone else.

Just curious to see what happens if two different characters (Serah and Aralon) try to play the same role in the squad.

Well, it doesnt need to be a conflict of personalities, it could be a situation that puts the characters in friction.
Like one of the members failing to do a task they were meant to do, and the squad loses something because of that. Most of the team forgives the poor soul for that, but a squadmember starts to pick on him for some time. I'm sure that will likely happen.....
*cough cough*

Hmm, could that person's name start with a J and end with an ason, Magmaul?

Uh no, sorry if I sounded too suspicious. I mean, I shouldnt even have sounded suspicious at all.
I dont know why I added that coughing in the comment. Maybe I'm just too fresh off the continuous friction between my char and Midnight's char in Machinauts.........even tough that's also a conflict of personalities, so that doesnt have much to do with the comment.
I'm really confused with myself.

Besides, I wouldnt pick on someone for doing something the wrong way unless its clear he/she shouldnt have come to do that.
Like firing an Ash of Agny at a pack of Oilers and getting everyone killed because of that....I'm sure Jason wont come to do that, right?
Right?

No no, Jason would never accidently get his teammates harmed or killed.

While I take a slight offense to that, You're... Technically right, According to wikipedia, Blade Runner, and Do Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?
However, the most I've found to defend the opposing ground... Is more stuff to disprove my arguement.
Judith Halberstam writes, "these gynoids inform the viewer that femaleness does not indicate naturalness, and their exaggerated femininity and sexuality is used in a similar way to the title character's exaggerated masculinity, lampooning stereotypes."
"Does not indicate Naturalness."
So, technically, Your statement is false, as there is no way to disprove Skyla's Gender.
...Which means we're at a deadlock as to who's correct.

What defines a gender is the presence of certain Genes within one's body. XX or XY in humans' cases. Because Robots do not have these genes (or any genes for that matter), three different definitions could be formed for automatons.
- The presence of genitalia on the chassis, or
- Coding by the creator (as to form a similarity between Genes and Code)
- There is also the final definition, which is that Robots have no gender. Period.
Thus, both @Liminori & @Kaijuhunter's arguments are valid.
Unless Skyla's creator implemented a Male/Female Reproductive System inside of her chassis, she can be argued by the 1st definition-believers as "genderless", as anything less is a "simulation" or, more accurately, a "forced assumption".
Similarily, Skyla can be seen as a "female" so long as she was programmed with the proper mannerisms, voice, gestures, etc. that would be considered "female", as the 2nd definition-believers could argue these Coded abilities to be equivalent to Skyla's "genes". This arises assumptions by other characters in the RP to believe she is "female".
It is as Liminori said, this is a deadlock of two of the sides, with the third not being represented.
Well, sort of. Because everyone (I'll repeat: EVERYONE) stands upon one of those three viewpoints, this argument is... Pointless. Frankly speaking, it's not us, the forum-goers, that will decide what to think of Skyla's gender, but rather it will be characters within the story which will derive their own assumptions. That means that, in the case of the argument, Cherub's group has Too Many Females (for those seeing Skyla as a Female), and the Same amount of Males and Females (for those seeing Skyla as Non-Female or Genderless) AT THE SAME TIME.
End result: Skyla's gender is decided upon by each individual character.
...
Also, before I forget: Hello. I'm still reading this RP.
Comment & Recommendation: Some of you seem to have a hard time keeping track of Posts; remember: before Posting, open up a New Tab with the same page, and read back a couple of posts to make sure you have the whole situation accounted for. A lot less mistakes will be made that way.

Much better standpoint.

I'm bored.
Here are my options.
Starbound
Spiral Knights
TF2
Demons Souls
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2
Chivalry Medieval Warfare
Persona 3
Devil Survivor
Mass Effect
Cardboard Glove Thing Project
Nothing at all
What should I do?

K. I didn't expect the topic of Skyla's gender to turn into a full out discussion XD Well then.
Anyway, I did a quick little drawing of Filia and Warhawk. And yes, I did model Warhawk after the L96.

*reads Magmaul-Ace's post*
*reads through all the characters again*
*feels stupid for forgetting Gbot-Vtwo is in the RP, had forgotten to check first page*
*has failed*

@Liminori
Chivalry maybe? Slice up some enemies(fun fact: I dont even have this game)
You could do the same in TF2 tough (with the added bonus o--THUR CAn BE. ONLY ONEeEEEE*urrp*).

Females in Cherub's group:
*Aralon
*Filia
*Skyla
Females in Serah's Group:
*Serah

@Liminori That is a lot of souls series, Why not do a full run while fulfilling this condition?
1. Compleate under a month (All three game if possible, if not, a game a month)
2. Have less than 25 death a run
3. You can't turn hollow more than 30 minutes
4. Only use a single sword, and no sheild, and no two-handed sword (Also aplies to halberd and stuff)
If you thing that is too hard or easy, I will incearce the perimeter, after all it is a soul series.
Anyway i am getting dark souls 2 for mah PS3, is it to hard? Or a compleate noob can play too?

I've only ever beaten Dark Souls 2.
Demons Souls was just too confusing for me.
Dark Souls was fun, but it got repetitive really quickly.
Dark Souls 1 was the only one I took seriously- Sadly, I lost my character two bosses away from Gwyn. (Seath and the Bed of Chaos)
Otherwise, I'm a DS1 Champ. . . So long as I'm not on a collection spree. *Cough* Dammit Ornstein *Cough*
I could probably beat DS2 in about two weeks.
DS1 would take four months or something, and and another for the DLC.
Demons Souls? Give me a year.
So, all in all, NO.
But sure, go ahead and get DS2. You'll enjoy it.
Probably.
It is the easiest, after all.

Ok then. I never played demon souls, and i have only watched dark souls gameplay. Did a bit of DS2 on my freinds house, and heard a freind said bloodborne is too damn hard. So ok then.

I think you're forgetting something.
Skyla has not been in the Mess hall for 8 Posts.
Even still, I can. . . Comify this error, rather ask you to fix it.

I'd Recommend Persona 3, solid game but I don't know how its held up after all this time. Persona 5 hype this year though.

"*feels stupid for forgetting Gbot-Vtwo is in the RP, had forgotten to check first page*" That is ok. I was in the RP. I can't fit my character into the story any longer, so we shall just say she was killed off in the breach. EDIT: or someone else can take her. it is fine with me.

GARRUS IS DOWN, I REPEAT, GARRUS IS DOWN!
*booooom*
Oh no, Gamma!

My condolences.

Hey, if you charge the bomb, wait for the fuse time, and detonate it all at the same post. Can it be considered power playing since the opponent can't react before all the mentioned process is done?

After all, the explosion only happens once the bomb reaches the target, if aimed correctly.
Which means, technically they can still dodge it if they were expecting it and such and such.

Ok, I dont think I shoulda given those bombs to Chael if he was allready going to hoard the whole armory for them......
Well, its done. I just hope I didnt give him any hazes that he allready has. Meanwhile, Mundy will make do with a slower, stronger stun field and a emergency static flash. Ittledoo.
Also, Feline, who is Aralon talking to? The ambiguity sounds almost forced in her speech, I cant tell who's the target.

Well he got a fetish for bombs... Besides, i have about 17 'smoke' 'grenade', in real life that is not a huge amount.

@Spirals-Ore: It's a generic haze bomb. You change its type by injecting a vial. Also, I didn't mean to forget Chael's question; I apologize for that. Serah really has no idea what's going on any more than Chael does, for what it's worth. Cherub's the only one who gets told anything.
Also, Aralon is speaking to Serah.

Yep, bombs are one-shot. A bomber's skill is shown in how well he uses it.

Drakengard 3.
However, I have more to say than that, as it is a wonderful.
Japanese with English subs.
The english voice acting makes the MC sound like the reincarnation of the most recent Dante shoved in a female body.
While the main character is a little angry, there are subtleties that the viewer misses in english,
like the way the MC quietly, forcefully says "Shut up, or I'll kill you" in the most (Seemingly) Laid back way possible.

I'm not sure I fully understand Titan's combat style. Could you expound on it some more for me please so I can craft a reply?

Titan's combat is jump back, jump forward, repeat. He uses the string charge only when he wishes to stop combat, attempting to manipulate his opponent's movements, and only works 1v1, as his threads can only handle one single figure at a time.
You'll notice the combat style recurring throughout the post as well.

Crud, bedtime prevents me from finishing my next post. This one is critical to get right, so it'll take me a while. In the meantime, I have a couple guidelines for you guys.
1. Interact with each other. I can't support all interactions on my own, and replying to everyone is a hassle.
2. The ship is breaking apart as it goes down, what with gravity being all whack, so don't be afraid to have stuff break off and injure or trap your characters on their way to the escape pods. There's a reason I stated them being rather far away.
3. People will suffer and die during the Crash. Sacrifices may be made. Just so you know.
Let's make the Crash the most epic story yet!

Just to assure you I'm not idle, and to give you a glimpse of how I handle GMing for the more complex areas of the story, I'll post some of my notes here. Commentary is in brackets.
Aralon and Chael are in the mess hall corralling civilians. Chael wants help. Tor, Filia, and Ragnir are fleeing to the pods; Tor's not with them, as he went with Cherub. Skyla's doing stuff in the air ducts, probably going for a pod. Filia and Skyla are in touch. Mundy is sticking with Serah, while Titan is sticking with Cherub for now, pending a response.
[When there's a load of people to respond to, I try to get the big picture so I can minimize the number of replies and figure out where to take the story simultaneously.]
Arch is gone from the game, per PM.
Filia's shot didn't miss; she just thinks it did.
Serah & Mundy get to do stuff together in Arch's absence.
[Plot notes on where to take the story.]

@Noel-Exside: I'll start planning the next section with Cherub and Titan once you post again. Let me know what you thought of the fight. I wrote it from a perspective of a great deal of respect for your character's abilities. The idea was to show off that particular gremlin's power while at the same time preserving a sense of Titan's skill, shown in how rapidly he reacts to and defends against each attack.
@Liminori, Kaijuhunter, Feline-Grenadier, Spirals-Ore: I'll let you guys be responsible for getting your characters to the escape pods. You got this. ;-)

@Thinslayer.. You mean all ways possible? Really...? Hehehehe MwHahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

So I take it that aside from Mundy and Titan, who are waiting response from your chars and will likely tag along with them, every other character is left for their respective forumers to figure out an escape route.
Anyway, mind If I take a little bit of control over Serah, just for one post? Waiting another post just to have my bomb ready would be boring, and I'm not going to make her do more than the obvious.

@Spirals-Ore: Within reason, of course.
@Magmaul-Ace: Correct. And as regards Serah, do what you gotta do. ;)

@Spirals-Ore : If Chael didn't understand the meaning of Aralon's swinging at the civilians, it was that once they were bundled together, she hit the crowd gently with her heavy hatchet so as to push them towards him. Due to the lack of gravity and lessened inertia, yes, they WOULD go somewhere : all careening towards your character as one massive group.
Side note : wait, you dribble to AVOID walking? Lolwut.

Oh, i thought everyone was standing still hanging into each other.. EDITING TO GO!
Edit: OOOOhhhh So we are at zero gravity not being sucked out to space.... I get the post all messed up.
(( I mean walking as in the penalty. I don't know what they are called in english ))
Hey Thin, would it not be interesting to have Skyla on a separate team from Filia? Since Filia and Skyla work together, they could perhaps serve as some sort of communication bridge between the teams?
