I told you guys this was a waste of time as OOO would just shut it down. That dosn't mean to say that I disagree with this though.
Updated: "Petition" towards OOO: Let old knights created before this patch redo the character creation. You know what I mean OOO
You know as well as I do that this "petition" draws its strength in part from all of the complaining that went down in General Discussion. I understand that this "petition" has generally been respectful, but its roots can still be traced to the whining and thus I will stand by the final words in my response.
"What can I say? I'm generally a resident of the Suggestions Forum. Deal with it."
Hm?
I haven't seen you that often till a couple days ago :P
We should be able to redo missions.
Now, they may not want us to go to the rescue camp because they don't want experienced players bashing new players in the rescue camp.
That can be solved.
They can make a private rescue camp for older players to redo the mission.
Simple enough.
Now for the customization...
I'm fine that we can't change our height/eye one time only for free.
I like it better this way, it makes a nice CR sink.
Come on people, 50,000 is a lot, but its not THAT hard to obtain.
Now redoing our proto armor....
That would be great, and could easily be turned into a crown sink.
50,000 to re-color proto armor/helm?
Sounds nice.
^ :3 Bravo!

If you need an example of other business practices that seem to go against popular moral views for the sake of profit, see outsourcing. A company will lay off its employees and replace them with cheaper, outsourced laborers. The original employees ("old knights", if you will) are left jobless while the company continue to make money. The "old knights" think that's unfair, naturally. They've invested their time and effort into the betterment of the company, and the company "betrays" them by depriving them of their jobs. Does the company really care? Not really. There's no way that catering to the "old knights" will leave the company with more money than if they attract outsourced labor ("new players", if you will). "New players" are almost guaranteed to leave the company with more money because they're easier to please - they're looking for any job, as long as they get something out of it.
The difference is that we aren't workers we are consumers, and that changes a lot of things since all companies want maximum profit. Balancing new and old costumers is the usual thing to do, but those recent updates are more like a kick in the nuts of older players and a welcome party to new ones.
This is NOT a suggestion, it is a COMMUNITY "project" thingie to get OOO to do something. It belongs in general discussion. Nor is it whining, it is a solid proof of the will of the community. Not my pro
As I have said before, this thread will keep being active until a "yes we'll do it/work on it" or "no -redacted- you" will be given to us.

consider this petitioned signed by one more player
Signed because of the new Mission that i never can do now (unless starting a new char what i dont want).
Actually i started 5 days before the Missions came out. I was kinda p*ssed when i got the exact same items double i just farmed in the last week. But at least it was stuff i can repeat and get it that way.
The is counting for the new creation screen - still reminding that it is highly unfair to the vateran Players - you can get all stuff they have by paying a certain penalty.
I am more upset about the stuff you can not repeat. Stuff that simply passes away without any chance for old Characters to get it.
+1
i agree with this petition. the new 'new knight' stuff was added the day after i got to haven (i was too lazy to make a new account).
I agree, but it makes more sense that old players either keep what they have or choose a new one.
:)
*pokes the thread with a stick s'more*
I support this. We should at least get to edit our proto gear to get the new accessories.
They are the cheapest accessories in the game.
Stop complaining and just buy them yourselves.
They don't cost that much.
Seriously. Stop. Now.
One the left hand older players would get what newer players currently have access to in terms of a few eye types and accessories for their Proto helmet which match the design for the Proto they choose. On the right hand the accessories available are fairly cheap (5~20kCr) but the height modifiers are still 50kCr. Back to the left hand, new players are given free things and expect the rest of the game to cater to them in the same way. Back to the right hand, I would only care if they gave them spiral eyes because most of the other types are fairly difficult to notice unless the equipment window is open or the mission/Clockwork exploration ends. On the left hand again, new players should not be given free incentives while veterans get nothing. On the right hand again, the accessories only apply to the Proto helmet and height modifiers are fairly insignificant overall.
Should we choose one hand or applaud for middle ground to be forged? If the latter, what would this middle ground contain? Clearly the option to change personal colors is exclusively for knight creation, as everyone has undergone at some point. This feature should not be changed as new players do not have the option to change their Proto colors after creation as everyone else. The accessories are fairly cheap varying by style, but do new users deserve to get two for free attached to their Proto helmet where older players were stuck with the base design? "How about you, random user who asks many questions; what would you do?" I would only allow older users the eye and height modifiers available to new users through character creation; nothing else. None of the accessories, no changing colors on Proto; just the eyes and heights. Why? They are currently available at Vatel for 50kCr each; the same height and eye styles available through the new character creation. Does this mean new players deserve these customization benefits? No, they should have to complete side missions to obtain them to teach new users they have to earn what they want. The current system shows the cosmetic options available immediately, granting new users whatever they want under the circumstances of them not knowing of anything else exists; they think they have all personal cosmetic options immediately delegated to them.
Who cares about eyes and height? The accessories given to new players in character creation seem better than "Oh look my character is taller than yours and looks slightly more disgruntled".
I do agree that new players should have to earn those accessories through missions, but then those same missions should be available to currently players so they can get the same benefits and equipment.
Why would not want the ability to re-color your proto?
Many people have made bad color decisions on their proto armor, and some people like to deck their proto out with accessories and use it as a costume much later in the game when they have lots of money.
They could also charge us to re-color our proto.
50k cr would be a fair price, and make a nice crown sink.
Who would care about height and/or eyes? Ask anyone who bought the styles from Vatel.
Personally, I am against giving new users the accessories; it supports the idea that new users deserve reward for doing nothing.
As long as the price to change the Proto colors is the same to all users, indiscriminate of experience, this may work.
Serell, Earlier you said to just buy the accessories in the game. I couldn't find any of the accessories given in the character creator anywhere in game.
"I couldn't find any of the accessories given in the character creator anywhere in game."
Accessories are Located in Iron Lockboxes. Iron Lockboxes are found in Prize Wheels. To Open a Lockbox, you need a Silver Key. What Accessory you get from the Lockbox is Completely Random.
You can also Find Accessories on the Auction House.
Here is a List of Accessories. Although most are Found in Lockboxes, a few are only Obtainable through Certain means.
The ones in the Character Creation are:
-Bolted Vee
-Headband
-Maid Headband
-Helm-Mounted Display
-Plume
-Com Unit
-Mecha Wings
-Ribbon
(*Sigh* I wonder where Iron's at...He's better at these Situations than me...)
Well the cool ones aren't cheap or even up in auction and silver keys cost a load of E. Thanks for the info though.
Holy birdbottoms a post that's not rude, by your local kat.... kat.. kat.
how the heck is 5kcr-20kcr fairly cheap?
no flame, i do like your post but...how the heck is 5kcr-20kcrs cheap?!
Shhoooooshshoosh *e-paps everybody*
Keep your extremities and voices down.
Let's all suggest some waiting music.
Lol. I've been listening lots to Hollywood Undead lately so I'd spam that.
However this thread shouldn't be derailed so much.
Do you think this will get a response? Well what I mean is; Do the GMs have a history of mimicking Nexon?
i completely agree!!
@GM's can we get a response plz? ill give you a cookie! plz?
sound like a plan; when rappelz had an overhaul which inluuded new skills/spells/character building options, everyone had their skills reset (keeping the points obv) and was allowed to re-build their characters so no-one got left out, that was over 6 damn full servers and everyone was happy.
How nice of the rappelz guys. I hope OOO will follow their example.
Hopefully it will happen, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
:U
Tam tararam, another update passes, another proof how OOO ignores players.
Yeah, adding this would have been a nice touch to their update, although I don't think they'll ever do this.
They have no real reason to do it, other than the fact that it'd make a lot of players happy. In fact, it'd have mostly negative consequences on them.
'sup. :U
I'd make a petition about this petition and how it is a petition and not a suggestion but they wouldnt listen. :[
Have I approved this already? I can't remember so I do it again:

The reason people update games is to make them better. Sure, they gave new players an opportunity to experience new things without the old players. Do you wanna know the point of it?
They did it so MORE people will want to play the game. Think about it. Us old players didn't like the Rescue Camp much cause there was just one mission. And the weapons were really dumb. Update, they make a fun mission filled with cinematics, special effects, and rewards, then BOOM, hundreds of new players show up. Advertising what is to come, I call it.
What you people are asking for right now is to get what you don't need. You can get the new weapons from the Auction House and Vendors, and you can get crowns from anywhere. So what's the difference?
Asking to try something new - playing an update you don't get a chance to see. That amounts down to being similar to asking for a new Xbox 360 cause everyone has one but you. Or having a really good cake because it's someone elses birthday but you want it all to yourself. Don't be selfish and greedy. They've already done nice things - 0 cost at elevators, new expansion mission, Unique Variant Forge, etc.
Don't ask for things you want just because other people have them. You would learn that in school in a lesson about drugs and alcohol. Doing something just cause other people do to fit in is wrong, if the activity itself is wrong.
No, I'm not trying to be mean, hating, or hurtful toward supporters of this idea. But you need to be reasonable.
Also, just note, the Original Post and some others here are just asking nicely if we could have the chance to. I don't know about the rest of them, but personally, although I'd like it to happen, would also accept a 'no' as long as they actually said it.
