Questioning

Axis stood from the shadows looking at part of my squad harass the valkyrie. "When will I get these idiots to act somewhat humane?" he suppressed a grin he was as inhumane as them now. He and the twins then emerged, the twins were mostly silent, only offering the occasional word or mumble. "Get away from her." Axis mumbled. He thought it was inhumane to harass or torture victims, he might not have a moral code in battle, but in a more public setting he had rules. "If ANYONE touches her again i'm feeding you to the rabids." He gestured to the snarbolax den farther down to the path. "Where is the queen?" Axis asked the knight once. All he got was spit in his face. "Fine then, you'll wish you complied but." He gestured to the twins they both forced her to look into the swarm generals eyes. The valkyrie was fighting the mind control hard, it wasn't as strong as the swarms but it require no infection or anything else to function only to have eye contact. Axis grinned he'd have his answer soon....

Bleh. . . Back from school.

(@Prettymucheverybody: Dagoon wasn't originally Isoran, so, I'd say she doesn't deserve to be called a Isoran, but. . . I guess she'd say thank you for considering her as properly part of the faction, In fact, I'll go change the faction RIGHT now. Done. (Post 89. ((Wow, that was a long time ago.)))

The knight she had been told to go with, Archemiday, asked "So how's... your day... going?" Dagoon simply replied "Well, pretty. . . annoying?
I woke up in a grave for some reason, Which i'm sure nobody can conclude for me, and I came down here to find my Battle Sprite friend Thrynn, only to find him and some other people in the middle of a battle. So I'd say, Just PEACHY."
______________________

Thrynn sat quietly on the elevator for a while. The "Defender?" Trivoc walked over to Thrynn. "So, you're Th(ry)nn... You're the one we saw earlier at the warehouse skirmish, and the one who sent Archemiday the swordlute, right?" He asked. Thrynn just politely awnsered "Why, yes I am."
______________________

((Story to make Dagoon more interesting to newcomers.
So, as it's been referenced a few times, Dagoon's father is a pirate king, but the thing that stands out most about him? He's half Isoran, Half gremlin.
So, you'd be wondering, who is his father? Well, His father happened to be Rhendon the Third. (Another character, that's not in this realm and would screw up the timeline, Rhendon-XII) No one liked Rhendon the third. His wife was a gremlin, and He was an Evil Psychopath Lord. (So, that adds a what the heck? to your day.) So, that means Dagoon is one fourth gremlin.

"I woke up in a grave". I

"I woke up in a grave". I walked as far away in the elevator as I could from her. "Oh, I see. Ehehehe. Wonder who did that.". After this, we cleared the shadow lair, and found no ikaros. Fortunately, dagoon seemed to handle herself fine, so we had no wounds. I decided to call trivoc using the arch drive. "Hello Trivoc, any sights of Ikaros?"

(Blahdeblah? Story instead.)
Thrynn saw some of the enemies dead already. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Trivoc replied "Let's go!" Thrynn jumped up, but stayed under the trees leaves so he wouldn't be as obvious as the biggest elephant in the universe, and flew low under the trees. He soon landed behind a bush.
"There she is!" Thyrnn whispered over to Trivoc. The morai ahead seemed to be toying around with Ikaros, but the leader stepped in and said "Get away from her." "If ANYONE touches her again i'm feeding you to the rabids." He gestured to the snarbolax den farther down to the path. "Where is the queen?" Axis asked the knight once. All he got was spit in his face. "Fine then, you'll wish you complied but." The two of the swarm nearest to Ikaros moved her in position so that she was looking directly into Axis's eyes. Thrynn lightly whispered to Trivoc "They're attempting mind control, we have to make sure they can't carry through with it. It'll be risky, but we have to charge now, Because I'm sure that our Friend here is one hell of a force to fight against.
Edit: @Archemiday: Since we haven't gotten that far into the SL We'll just have to say that you're telling us this Later, so you won't be mentioned for a while.

Too late

He had gotten through! But apparently the valkyrie didn't know the location of the queen. Axis sighed, another lead dead. He'd have to scout the clockworks out, but it could take weeks to find her. But he had gotten a new recruit into the swarm. Axis noticed that his troops were confronting new comers. One of them was the knight that had given him his leg injury. His idiotic troops were riled up. "Fine take him out, NOW!"

Slashful Speaking

Trivoc

He looked back at the Morai and saw Ikaros being forced to look straight into Axis' eyes. [What are they doing to her?] He thought frantically, but now he had a plan. He looked to Thyrnn and spoke.

"I'm going to go in there and get their attention. Once they're all looking at me, you go in there and free Ikaros. Have her take her weapons, and then bring her to The Sanctuary, the others will be waiting there. Can you do that?" He asked. Thyrnn nodded and flew up to the cliff to stay out of the sight of the Morai.

Trivoc was unsure if he could fight them all at once, but it was the only way they would save Ikaros. [I have to do it.] He told himself. He gathered his resolve, and ran out into plain sight. He would play on their short temper. With luck, it would only take a few insults to make them go into a bloodthirsty frenzy

"Hey! What are all you Morai doing out here? Oh right... It's Morai protocol to run away and hide in a hole somewhere when the Isorans show up!" He shouted. Some of the men had noticed him. "Isoran Pig!" One shouted. [Yes! It's working.] Trivoc thought.

"Insults? Is that the best you got. If words are the most powerful weapon in the Morai arsenal, then it's no wonder you lost the war." He said mockingly.

"Commander Axis... Please let us TEAR THIS ONE LIMB FROM LIMB!" Another Morai said.

"Hmm... Eight against one? Doesn't seem very fair. Tell you what, why don't I amputate my right arm, and then we'll call it a fair fight." Trivoc insulted.

"I'll amputate it for you, you wretch!" A third Morai shouted as he attacked Trivoc, without waiting for orders. He charged up his Flamberge and approached the Isoran. Before he could unleash it though, Trivoc smashed him with his Aegis, and pushed him away with the flat of his Vanquisher.

"Anyone else want to give me a shot? Don't be afraid... Try to fight me, and I'll give you a sugar-coated mini-slime core. that's the way your mother's made it, right?" He said to the rest of the group. Most of them looked like nothing more than hungry animals now.

((I need to go to school for now, so keep Trivoc controlled, but let him get out of this alive))

With his weaker swarm powers

With his weaker swarm powers it'll take hours for Ikaros to convert to the swarm, also the second Axis looses eye contact with her he'll loose control, and she'll still be able to fight and communicate.

Kaijuhunter is right.

((I think we should draw the line at forcible side-changing. That would have to occur with the writer's permission; otherwise, you'll either have to 1) powerplay that character for the duration of loyalty or 2) convince the player to use that character as loyal to that side. For example, you can pretend Gwen is on your side all you like, but unless I make her obey Swarm orders or kill or corrupt other players, it has no practical use.

Let the player decide whether the side-change is warranted.))

The councilmen finished their conversation with Seatus and got up. Argon declared, "It is time. The Great Purge must begin. Open the Core, Gwenyvier."

My time has come.

She outstretched her arms, and the Core entrance opened with a great rumble. She began to walk outside, where the dark Swarm was waiting for her. Theo, Serris, Argon, Anubis, Seatus, and everyone else protested; she would be slaughtered by them! Argon shouted, "What are you doing!? We need you to lead the Purge! Come back!"

She said simply, "Good bye, gentlemen." Before anyone could pull her back, she closed the Core, leaving herself at the mercy of the Swarm.

Argon was stunned. That did not go as planned. Not only had they all failed to escape the Core, but Gwenyvier had been lost. If it would bring her back, he would never look at her with disgust again. He looked at Serris, who was equally stunned. It was a long time before anyone said a word.
______________________________

One of the Morai guards spotted a black mass advancing on Haven. "Contact! We've got contact! It's the Swarm!" All the knights and warriors were alerted, and began to take their battle stances. A vast, looming figure of The Fallen materialized, twice larger than Vanaduke and far stronger. Everyone drew back, feeling frightened and weak. The thing pointed its blade at the Isorans, and shouted, "Give me their souls!" and all the Swarm advanced on the helpless troops. Advanced Void forms, the likes of which were never before seen in Cradle's history, ripped through the Knights and Morai with merciless brutality. Barrus was last seen charging his calibur before he disappeared in a spray of blood. Vaelyn was spotted missing several limbs before she was overtaken and enveloped. Dezna held out a tad longer, destroying a Void form before succumbing to her Void infection. Kora was trampled to death while cloaked. Kazam and team had blasted a number of Voids before Kazam literally lost his head.

All were absorbed into the cold embrace of the Swarm.

And Gwenyvier could be heard laughing.

Thoughts

I thought I could bring it back. I didn't want to see the Swarm destroyed at the hands of the Whitespace. I was convinced that the Swarm was not inherently evil, that I could lead it down the right path, and that I could make it bright again. I still think it is possible, but now I may never get the chance to finish what I started. I have brought the Knights and Morai into our ranks; what has that gained us? What good has it done them? Their lives may someday be recovered, but they will never again be the same people they once were.

Dear Theo, what have I done? Our chance at life together has been broken by my own hand; I pray that you may someday be able to forgive me.

Terror

Axis felt a new conscious in his head. Some...THING had just had been recruited into the swarm, and the thing was pure terror. He gagged. He could feel massive life loss on the surface. He reached out to the foreign conscious and asked "Who...no WHAT are you?" An evil cackle filled his mind. He cringed waiting for an answer.

The Clock has Struck Thirteen

(Seatus)

"Anubis, go to Haven. They need help only you can give them," he nods, and I continue to Argon, "the Clock has Struck Thirteen, Argon. I must enter the Core, and go in after Gwen. This journey has led up to this very moment. The Sapling could help my retain my form," I glance at the blob, which seem to be eager, and I continue "Goodbye, I will see you all soon," I smile, and walk into the Void. Anubis disappears behind me, going to fulfill a destiny he never asked for. Just like me.

----------------------------------------------------

As I enter the Void, the blob following me, the moans of thousands greet me. Flickering magenta-pixelated platforms float in the darkness. Magenta-colored souls reach up from the ground below, Wolvers and Gremlins, Slimes and Undead, even Almirians cry out. So this is what the territory of the Swarm really looks like. The Heart of it. I am surprised at the Master's dream, for he has never dreamed so boldly as to show me his mind, his home.

I jump from platform to platform, the screams getting louder as I get closer to the top, where a small bubble of light protects the beings inside. Walking around it is a magenta-transparent Gwen, and I jump quicker to the top. I reach it, and the screams are suddenly silent. The blob turns into a more mobile form, changing to pixels flying around me. My fur whips around, Swarm coming it's pixels through it, but not corrupting it.

I walk into the bubble, Gwen not noticing me. I imagine she is busy focusing her thoughts on the corrupted vessel she made on the surface. I see something amazing. Alice, faceless but with golden lights glowing as her eyes. Her hair falls as fair as spun gold around her shoulders. She wears a black dress, decorated with yellow spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. Her skin is silver, but a black wristband with a yellow light shining from it resides on her wrist, making a holographic shield shabe like a rectangle, but looking like an Ace of Everything, with a Spade, Club, Diamond, and Heart in the middle, and a half black, half red 'A' in each corner. A black bow is tied in her hair. And last but not least, a Vorpal Sword is near her hand, a blade edged with diamond, with metal in the center, and window-like diamons up and down the metal of the blade.

Next to her is the Alpha Squad. "I don't get it," I say, "where is the sixth being?"

"It is around us," Alice says, "I'm sorry you can't see it yet, but you're going to when you finish your quest 30 years ago." I am stunned, and choke out, "How'd you know I was from 30-" she cuts me off, "I know a lot of things, Seatus, but now isn't the time. The Swarm is out there, and I think I need to give you your final form."

"Final form? What are you talking about?" she interrupts, "I mean the form of the Great Snarbolax! Not the Purified or the Corrupted, but the Great! The one your Father was before he got corrupted. Everything the Swarm corrupts, will eventually get worn away and weak when the Swarm is bored with it. You have to save Gwen from herself."

"I am scared. What will happen to you and the Being? How will I get the Swarm out?" she speaks out again, "Gwen, right now, is the incarnate of the Swarm. It's messed with her vessel, and is vying for control. But it's in there, a little bit of Gwen fighting. If you can Purify her, then everything will be as it was, the Morai fighting the Knights. Me, the Squad, and the Being will be safe," she gives me a kiss on the forehead, "Goodbye, our savior..." I step outside the bubble, and face Gwen, the tears still in my eyes. I will do this for Goddess Alice. "Hey Gwen," I say to her, "I hope you missed me..." I say as wings grow on my back and my tail turns more reptilian and covered jn spikes, my claws elongating. But my eyes turning a firey sprite-green. I am, and always was, the Great Snarbolax Seatus.

((EDIT: Don't name stuff after me Lim, I will start turning emo with all the **** already goin down in my life.))

Takiza

"Gwen!" I screamed as the Fallen Queen broke away from my hand. I was mortified: she was entering the Core itself, something not even i could bring myselft to go inside. I sprinted towards her, and just before she entered the Core, i felt my hand *just* brush a strand of her hair. Then the barrier sealed. Drawing my Purifier, (( the white Divine Avenger )) i roared and struck at the forcefield, but it wouldn't budge. I charged my blade and released a blast of holy energy that should have been able to dissolve a continent, but the Void merely flickered, then repaired itself. The Knight, Anubis phased into the Void without a word, the Sapling close behind him. A simple Knight could get in there, but I, the supreme King of the Valkyrian Council, couldn't even make a dent in the Void barrier. I dropped my sword in despair and turned back to the Council. "So much for the Purge," i muttered dejectedly. I took my seat back at the round table and sunk my head into my hands, my face projecting only despair.

-------

Tomoki ((guess that means he's got to die, too, since he's in Haven))

I woke up to see a timid looking medic in front of me. He smiled shyly and waved. I nodded my silent thanks to him for healing me, but was interrupted by an unholy shriek. I turned in bewildrement- as did the scattered Morai around me- and saw an enormous figure, a titanic Fallen Valkyrie Queen wreaking destruction only a mile away. I saw Isorans and Morai alike being ripped to shreds by disgusting-looking beasts and frowned. I checked my holsters: i had two magazines each for my Argent Peacemaker and Magma Driver. I stood up and, my brow furrowed in concentration, aimed my guns. Encouraged somewhat by my bold move, the Isorans and Morai both took up arms, and we formed a loose battallion. I smirked at the irony of the situation: i was sent here to deal with the Morai, yet here i was, fighting alongside them. That was when the Swarm crashed into our loosely formed ranks.

Everything was chaos. I saw limbs flailing as they were seperated from bodies, heads fell to the ground. I barely managed to duck as a monster swiped at my head, then promptly shot him in the eyeball. I whirled around and blasted another one in the mouth just as his jaws opened to bite me, then kicked a third one's legs out from under him and shot at the one spot guaranteed to be most painful. I almost giggled as the monster squealed, then died.

It wasn't enough. Out of nearly 200 soldiers, only fourteen were left, including myself. I only had three bullets left in my Peacemaker: my Driver had been shattered by a monster. A monster bore down on me, but wbefore i could shoot, a Morai threw himself at the beast, grappling it to the ground. He held it under control and gave me a glance: take it out. I mouthed a thank you to the poor Morai as the monster's spikes stabbed through his chest, then charged a bullet into the monster and watched as it slowly stopped flailing. It was useless. Now only one other Knight was left beside me, and we fought back to back, me tripping enemies and/or brutally smashing my legs into them, him sending constant barrages of Rocket Hammer strikes into the enemies. I heard him squeak and turned around to see a monster biting his torso away from the legs. I shot in the face and looked hopelessly at the endless hordes of Swarm Monsters.

Hopelessly, i turned around and unloaded my final bullet onto a Swarm Monster, then looked up to see as the colossal Queen's foot descended towards me. I sighed and whispered, "Goodbye, Ika..."

But my words were carried away by the wind, and darkness fell upon me.

Further explanations

((
@Liminori: The link was meant to give you an idea of what the new Void forms look like. It is not a direct portal-transfer from Starcraft. If you took a Void Zombie and gave it extra arms and made it crawl around like a spider, or gave a Void Wolver wings and a dragon tail, or made Void Spiral Knights out of Void Gels, you'd have a more realistic depiction of what the attacking Void creatures are. The point is, they are abominations.

Look, if you don't like something I've written and want it changed, SAY SO. We're here for (serious) fun, and if it's not fun for you, I have no qualms about rewriting the story. Really, I won't bite.

How the Swarm works

((
I'd like to debrief you guys on how I think the Swarm should work.

It begins by infecting a live creature through the bloodstream. Since it is alive, it naturally encounters stiff resistance from a creature's skin, and can only enter the body through an open wound. Once inside, it has access to the entire body and can then replicate itself and spread, using a kind of viral mechanism. It will then begin to deconstruct and record any genetic data and memories it encounters, and then transform the surrounding tissue into biomass.

The central processor (or brain) of the Swarm is located in a subspace pocket, colloquially nicknamed "The Void." All Swarm creatures can contribute to and access it immediately anywhere, anytime. Genetic data that is absorbed is first analyzed for anything useful, and then a seed is generated that can recreate the genetic code at a whim. The seed is then stored away, while the genes are processed for nutrients.

The Swarm is also capable of absorbing memories, which, as you should remember from your science classes, is stored in neural connections. The Swarm records these connections as it absorbs the brain and, just like it does with genes, generates a seed capable of recreating the memories at a whim. The brain is then turned into biomass for later usage and the memory data sent to the Void.

This memory data is stored away and accessed when needed. Whenever the Void decides to use genetic code to modify the Swarm, the changes take place immediately. Any new memories acquired by one Swarm creature become known to the entire Swarm after processing. However, just like a real brain, the Void decides what do do with the new memories it obtains.

It is possible, though difficult, to fully recover a creature, memories and all, from the Swarm, even if their prior bodies were completely destroyed.

Also note that the Swarm cannot fully recreate the memories of a person with a damaged brain, since it can only record what is there.

Axis needs to recover.

((@Gzilla:

Axis may be able to escape the Swarm. Since his mind is still intact (thanks to the Swarm's recording procedures), it may be possible for him to return to normal. He would first have to destroy the Swarm viruses residing inside him (unless he was recreated from scratch, which he was, in which case proceed to the next step), and then be disconnected from the Void. Every cell in his body contains a link to the Void, and he would need to be infused with special RNA to have that link severed. Alternatively, he could be purged by the Whitespace Swarm, which works similarly to the Dark Swarm (but is much more powerful).

As for Axis's current character, he is no longer in command of the Swarm because a stronger mind has taken his place. I can't decide whether he should immediately submit to this authority, become a rival of it, or try to escape it altogether. I'll let you decide.

Note to Thin

((Valkyries made Swarm, but Swarm has already been around since creation. So has the being in the Core. The Core was pre-made when the Valkyries got there, they just made it thicker with their lab being the shell of the Core. The Swarm was underneath their feet though, right on the ORIGINAL outside shell of the Core. The 'Void' is also the brain of the Master. Master is the being of the Swarm, just like the being inside the Core is that of energy and power. Valkyries simply recreated Swarm, not knowing it was already there. Seriously, these two beings (Swarm and the Core-Being) are more ancient than anything.))

((Perhaps a compromise is in order. I still insist on the Swarm being artificially created, but it doesn't have to be by the Valkyries; I'm open to it being either an even-more-ancient race or the unnamed Great Designer himself. Heck, we could even attribute the Swarm to King Tinkinzar.

But I must insist on Gwenyvier being the incarnation of the Core. It's a critical piece of lore, and I had to juggle that with her position as leader of the council. The solution I came up with is written here. Alternately, I could compromise by removing her status as Valkyrie. She is only *perceived* to be a Valkyrie, and considers herself one, but existed long before the Valkyries came to be. Either way, she *must* be the Core.))

Change of heart

(I'll edit if necessary, because i don't even know if it's in Axis' power to defy the swarm right now)

Axis collapsed to the ground he didn't care about the incoming knights. He found he could no longer control his men, they were under swarm influence. His new master still didn't see a point in contacting him with new information. "Great, another tool in the arsenal of the swarm." thought Axis. The swarm was brutal and bestial. Everyone on the surface had been decimated by the swarm. Kazam, Gurred, Cleo, he even sort of felt sorry for Jari. He let out a mournful sigh. He then did something unexpected. He drew the venom annihilator and fired the whole magazine, 4 swarm Morai dropped down, incapacitated. The remaining 3 and the twins turned to him, he struck out with his sword freeing the valkyrie. "The way things change." Axis muttered hollowly.

Interesting ideas.

((
@Seatus: I can live with that. Someone must have been really thorough to have gone through the universe and modified the entire Swarm in this way, however. I don't mind ignoring that stretch of imagination if you don't.

@Liminori: Don't be so pessimistic! It's true that the idea was already relevant, but for some reason I was unable to make the connections. It just didn't occur to me that Gwen would be commanding the Void (which is itself a commander of the Swarm). It also didn't occur to me that she is both the Core and the Void mind simultaneously, though that is a natural conclusion from the given information. Thanks for pointing out those facts.

Gods

((@Thin I imagine the Swarm and the being in the Core as Lost Gods. The Swarm being as advanced, cold, and unforgiving as an unchanging world under it's control. Nothing ever changing, never living, never dying. A world where individuality has never been thought of. And I imagine that part of the universe is it's creation. And then I imagine the being in the Core, creating things of innocence and purity. I imagine it carrying the cycles of life and death with each breath, and inviting individuality. You're welcome XD))

(Meep?*)
New Character: Passy (Cute, but rather useless.)
Race: Snipe. . . What? I decide to come home to make the MOST USE- (Please wait, We are experiencing Technical Difficulties.)
Faction: (hm. . . Can't be factionless, Too much of that floating around. . . Uhh. . . ) Core Creature.
Bio: Passy is rather, only a normal snipe. (Is it just me, or do I make a lot of creature characters in general? Skyrim, Oblivion, Etc.)
She used to be a normal snipe that inhabited Haven, but she got punted into the clockworks, down into the arcade. . . Since then, she was adopted by wolvers, so she has the knowledge of how to fight, and can call for backup. (Will this ever be useful? No. She's a BIRD with no arms or legs FOR GOD'S SAKE!)

(I. . . I need more time to post, Which I don't have.) Know what? No, Passy's a NPC!)
Edit: "A place where individuality is never thought of." Hmm. . . What, like a [Wrinkle In Time]?
Edit Edit: I'll be over. . in my corner. . . Playing TF2. . . I probably won't see any new updates to this Forum for a while. . . So, all the characters I have made up to this point are of Free Use.

"Hey Gwen," Seatus called out to the beast. It didn't respond. "I hope you missed me..." Seatus said as he grew wings, a spiked tail and dangerously-clawed hands. The beast noticed him out of the corner of its eye, and took an interest in him. It stared at Seatus, half-inclined to poke at him, but the dangerous-looking claws deterred it. The rest of the Swarm below just stopped what they were doing and stared at Seatus, just like their master was doing.

((@Kaijuhunter: I'm sorry, I almost didn't get around to answering your question. Yes, Ikaros can return to the Sanctuary once she gets her upgrades. I'll have to rewrite my script a bit, though. xD))

Apocalypse Cradle

((Wow, I'm gone for about 7 hours and you guys have already managed to begin the Apocalypse, and come up with an explanation for it XD. Why am I never around for the good stuff to go down?))

Trivoc

The Swarm-Morai weren't too tough. Trivoc wasn't aiming to defeat them anyway, just hold them off. Plus, their anger was making them clumsy and careless. [I might just be able to pull this off...] Trivoc thought as he stabbed a Swarm-Morai in the leg. The warrior grunted in pain, but kept fighting.

In the middle of the fight, Trivoc suddenly felt a powerful tremor run through the ruins. [That was MUCH more powerful than The Skylark's Valiance Cannon...] He thought. The Swarm-Morai had stopped attacking for the moment, looking stiff. Trivoc wondered what had caused this. He went up to one and tried to touch it, but before he got close it let out an unholy shriek.

Trivoc flinched backwards as the rest of the Swarm-Morai screamed. It sounded like a mix between rage and agony. The only thing that was for sure was that it made Trivoc scared.

He raised his shield just as the Swarm-Morai unleashed a relentless flurry of attacks with their weapons. Trivoc switched between blocking with his Aegis, and parrying with his Vanquisher [Attack coming from the left, block! Attack coming from the right, parry! Attack coming from the front, dodge back!]; the Swarm-Morai left no openings for Trivoc to take advantage of. They were no longer fighting with anger.

[They're fighting with cold, computer-like accuracy!]

His strength began wavering; he would soon be overwhelmed. [So this is how it ends, huh? At least I'll die for something, I guess] Trivoc thought, fearing his end was near.

Just as his defensive stance broke down, 4 of the Swarm-Morai suddenly dropped to the floor in front of him. They had a large wound with green ooze coming out of it, and Axis' gun was smoking at the barrel from being freshly fired. The Morai enforcer then cut the shackles that held down Ikaros. "Axis? Why did yo-" Trivoc started, but before he could finish, The remaining 3 Morai and The Twins began moving towards Axis, most likely to attack him.

Trivoc drew his Argent Peacemaker and emptied a whole magazine into one of the Swarm-Morai's head. It was dead before it hit the ground. "Don't just stand there, move now!" He commanded Axis as he reloaded his gun. "Thrynn, if you're still there we need to get out of here." He shouted at the air, just as one of The Twins moved in on him, Trivoc raised his Vanquisher as The Twin brought his sword down with great strength.

"You're not killing me today, you freak." He said as he willed himself to be stronger and pushed The Twin away. He ran for Ikaros and reached her just as a Swarm-Morai attacked him with... Spiked tendrils coming out of his back?!

Trivoc smashed the abomination away with his Aegis, and then peppered it in all parts of its body with 6 shots from his Peacemaker. He reloaded and knelt down to Ikaros' limp form. "C'mon, wake up... Talk to me. Can you move?" He said, praying that she was still alright.

((I'm assuming Ikaros is very weak at the moment(hence, being down on the ground) since it takes a lot of mental energy to resist mind control, and she had just been overcome by one, at the time.))

((Well, let me skip that whole talk with the council because I might write things down wrong, so instead I will be skipping it into the part when Gwen entered the core...))

"GWEN! I WON'T LET YOU GO FOR THE SECOND TIME, I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU ANYMORE!" Theo screamed on top of his lungs, he rushed towards the core but a figure stood right in front of it, blocking his way.

"P...partner? What... happened to you?!" Theo gasped, the before twisted and familiar shadow knight has now changed into a shining white paladin. "Partner, please, get out of the way..."

"..."

Theo shook his head, what have they done to him? What did the council do to Thanatos?

"Partner... What's wrong?! Why aren't you answering?!" the knight just stood there, ignoring the words from his best friend. "Dammit, answer me you idiot!"

"...I DO NOT COMPREHEND..."

Theo turned to the council with a look on his face showing hatred and disgust. "What... what did you do to him?!"

One of the Council answered his question calmly, "You see, we have purged him from his da-"

Before the Council was able to finish the sentence he was saying, Theo had already pinned him down to the floor and strangled him. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!"

"W-W-We-" the Council gagged as he tried to release the powerful grip, "W-We... P-p-urg-ged h-h-im..."

"No... NO!... Don't you see...?!" Theo groaned as he finally let go of him, "When you do something to him... it will.... ugh...." he started coughing, black ooze was splattered all around him. "When you do... *cough* Something to.... him.... It... It WiLl AfFEcT mE ToO *cough*"

"B-but... impossible, why could the purge severely damage you?" another member of the Council asked Theo who continued to cough blood from his mouth.

"We.... are.... Death... *cough*... We.... ArE.... *cough*diffErENt.... we.... are fueled by *cough*DaRKNess... We will... die.... if....*cough* we... were... P-purg...." Theo paused and fell to the ground, Thanatos started shaking violently and fell to the ground alongside his partner.

Gwen.... I... promised....

"I...I PROMISED!" Theo screamed as he tried to fight the pain that is slowly devouring his soul, he tried to stand but his leg felt like it was turned to jelly.

"D-don't you see that it's futile in your condition!?" one of the Council member spoke to Theo, "Even if you're D-death, it will be impossible for you to save Gw-"

"SHUTUP!" Theo shot back, with all the remaining strength he still had, he managed to stand with both of his legs. "I... I promised her... and I won't... I won't let her die again!"

Theo rushed towards the Core and tried to open, unfortunately it wouldn't open at all. "No... I... I have come this *cough* close... to her..." he gritted his teeth and formed his hand into a fist, "I... I won't *cough*... let... her... go..."

Theo screamed and punched the Core, he continued to punch it despite the pain he went through.

"I-it's futile!" the member spoke again, "You will just end up hurting yourself! Why must you cling to one soul that may not even care for you at all?!"

"Because..." Theo punched the Core again, his fingers were ripped open and blood slowly dripped to the surface of the core, "I..." Theo punched again and this time it left a small crack on the surface. "I PROMISED HER!"

The surface then exploded, revealing a small hole only one knight can enter, Theo turned his back and smiled at everyone else who had their expression locked in a shock.

"I promised to save her, for she have saved me and showed me that there is still hope."

((I suppose this what will happen to beings that are affected by the purge... well, point out anything if I did it wrong!)

_________

Without wasting time, the Morais pulled their guns and shoots wildly at Cleo who dodged every single bullet with ease.

"S-sir! What are going to do?!" one of the Berserkers turned to Gured who was still biting his lips.

"Use everything you got! We're not letting her live once more!" Gured growled and finally reloaded his gun, he pointed it at the girl's left arm and pulled the trigger. The bullet suddenly fell to the floor as it was about to get in contact with Cleo's arm.

"What the heck?! S-shoot again!" Gured commanded his squad, he shot another bullet at Cleo but the same thing as before happened.

Red runes flowed from Cleo's left arml, the bright red runes looked exactly like the shape of a labyrinth and it slowly formed a ball which became a shield.

"Dammit, she got a shield! Throw your grenades boys!" he barked orders again at his squad, which followed it by throwing their chemical bombs at Cleo.

The training hall became invisible under the smokescreen, a figure could be seen slashing two Morais at an incredible speed. The swing of the axe was powerful enough to create a gust which blew away the smoke, Gured fell to a shock as he witnessed half of his squad already slaughtered in half by Cleo.

"D-dammit... What the hell is going in with you?!" Gured whimpered as he pressed his ear comm, he then announced something to every Morai who are possibly still alive.

"ATTENTION ALL MORAIS, WE HAVE A TRAITOR ON THE LOOSE, SHE IS A LEVEL-A DANGER AND MUST BE CONFRONTED CAUTIOUSLY, HER NAME IS CLEO REITHBOW. I REPEAT, HER NAME IS-"

and the transmission had finally ended forever.

As the elevator descended,we

As the elevator descended,we were met by slimes. We slashed, dodged and blocked through the first room. "It looks like a split ahead. I'll go left, you go right." So we split up. When I entered my room, a couple of jellies, a monarch, and a lumber spawned. My lute cut through the lumber like butter, I split the monarch in half, and sliced a few jellies. The last one stood and I rushed towards it. This jelly was smart, as when I slashed in a wide arc to the left, it dodged right so it could follow up with an attack. Instead of attacking, it wrapped around me like a rubber band. It was choking me an constricting my movement. It was obviously touching my leg wound. It wasn't until Dagoon helped me and cut the slime off of me. I struggled to breath again once I was free before speaking. "Th... Thanks. We should head towards the boss."

Ikaros

I slowly opened my eyes to see Trivoc and smiled. I hugged Trivoc for a few seconds, then pulled away. Suddenly, i felt a burst of energy rush through my body. I had just noticed an enormously powerful presence- both on the surface and in the Sanctuary. I gulped and let Trivoc pull me to my feet, then gave him a peck on the cheek, muttering, "Thank you..." Trivoc blushed, but the battle sprite came in, Axis close behind and said,

"Hey, We're supposed to meet the others in the Sanctuary.... Come on, Ikaros!"

Trivoc

Much to his relief, Ikaros was able to awaken. She smiled when she awoke, Trivoc smiled as well. "You had me worried there..." He said. The winged Knight then pulled him into a hug; this time Trivoc hugged her back.

Ikaros seemed to space out for a moment, as if she was thinking about something. Trivoc assumed she was just still shaken by the experience, and helped her up to her feet. The Valkyrie returned to her senses, and then gave him a kiss on the cheek. This had disarmed him much more than any enemy could. "Thank you..." She said.

Trivoc blinked at her, unsure of what to do next. He was about to tell her how he really felt, when Axis and Thrynn came along, so all he could manage to do was blush. [It... was probably a bad time anyway]

"Hey! We're supposed to meet the others in The Sanctuary... Come on, Ikaros!" Thrynn said.

Trivoc waited for the redness to go away before speaking with Axis (who seemed to have taken care of T Twins, and the last Swarm-Morai). "You saved me back there... I know you don't like Isorans, for the history we've had... But I'm extending my hand to you, so that we can fight a common enemy. I wont force you to take it, but if you want to come with us, we'll forget about everything you've done before, and treat you as a comrade in arms, if you are willing to do the same." He said as he put his weapons away, and offered his hand to the Morai Enforcer.

Name: Octurnus
Appearance: tall height, normal eyes, lake color
Arsenal: vog cub coat, skolver cap, argent peacemaker, sentenza, final flourish, divine avenger, gran faust, dragon scale shield, strike needle
((i can lower weapon number...might have gone overboard...))
Bio: Was part of the knights on the skylark when it crashed, got lost in the clockworks as the leader of a squad. The squad and I were ambushed by a legion of 20 trojans or so, the rest died, I lived on. I spent lots of time tracking down and utterly destroying every one of those trojans. I succeeded in that but, got lost in the clockworks. I have been wandering around, found the core, just got back up to find the skylark had left. Has been stranded on cradle since.

The way down

Axis shook hands with the knight, he let out a faint smile. "The sanctuary huh?" Axis pointed to the snarbolax den farther down the twisted trail. "I hope you're all ready for a fight since the rabids protect the only elevator leading there." He noticed the knight with the vanquisher blush. He wondered what he'd interrupted. And so like that 2 knights a battle sprite and a swarm/Morai descended deeper into the wildwoods. "We make the weirdest party ever." Axis thought to himself.

Lots 'o new stuff!

((
@Infernus-Dragneel: The purge is supposed to be a good thing. Thanatos's character is not likely to change much, and the biggest change will be the extent of his power. A shadow creature can only use shadow attacks and cannot stand light, but a light creature can only use elemental attacks and will survive in both light and dark environments. The light also grants him additional powers on top of the ones he already has. Theo, too, is very likely to benefit for much the same reasons.

@Karonix: Your character is accepted. You may begin! Just to give you a heads-up on the story, Haven is completely covered in extremely powerful Swarm creatures, and the rest of the Clockworks is infested with them to varying extents. Most of the existing Knights and Morai have been absorbed into the Swarm. I would recommend that your character start off at Emberlight, where the infestation is minimal.

By the way, if you want a forum avatar, go to the "Forum Preferences" link right next to the search box, click on the white "Edit" tab, select an avatar, then click "Save" at the bottom.

Takes after its mom

The beast looked itself over, and disliked its humanoid form. Taking cues from its absorbed battle sprites, it remodeled itself after a Draykon (though slimmer and more rounded). Approving of this form, it turned its attentions to the struggle at the Core. Sensory data suggested that the remaining unabsorbed souls wanted someone named "Gwen" back. The name drew a match to "mother," whom it was healing and caring for at the moment. Why would they want mother?

Seatus, now, looked familiar. Memories taken from the three Snarbolaxes revealed that Seatus was created by the Core. But if Gwen was the Core, then Seatus must be her son. And if the beast (the Swarm) was the adopted child of the Core, then Seatus...must be its...brother!

For real? The creature had never had a brother, but always wanted one. It hugged Seatus, catching him completely off guard.
