I also disagree with having a vendor in Town Square. Sure it can be a pain but think about it, what would s/he sell? Unless you were to move one of them (It would be quite lonely though :c) Also, Bazaar would be almost completely dead. If that idea goes through we may aswell add a mineral depot. Other than that, it's a +1 from me
The collaborative list of small suggestions
You can turn the numbers off in PvE, you would be able to turn it off in PvP too. And damage works the same way versus players as versus mobs, so... no real difference there, I don't think.
@Waffleconecake
Nothing wrong with bumping since I was going to bump it anyway. It's not like I haven't been adding new things to the OP all the time.
@Troll-Lolo
1) A lot of factors to consider in terms of damage counting for devs.
Damage numbers are already calculated. They're just not displayed. There will be no extra work or anything to be calculated by the developers.
2) Kind of distracting
You can toggle them
3) It just doesn't seem to fit really, dunno why.
Not really a valid argument.
@The-Mighty-Potato
I also disagree with having a vendor in Town Square
You can just have Kozma be able to buy things.
Bazaar would be almost completely dead
By Bazaar being completely dead, do you mean there will be no more extremely frustrated players in Bazaar irritated that they have to sit through two loading screens just to get rid of that bound item they no longer need?
People go to Bazaar all the time for Bechamel, Vatel, and Brinks.
I think it would be cool if we could have a zoom button during clockwork runs like the one in haven. A little close up of the action would be fun =)
Love the ideas,hope some make it to the developers suggestion list.
I have an idea for the "weapon strength" when breaking minerals.
All three hit swords and guns have a strength of one per swing/bullet.
Two hit swords and guns have a strength of one on the first hit and two on the second hit.
Cutters will have one strength on the first, third, and fifth hit. The second, fourth, and ghost blade hits will not have any strength.
Autogun bullets will have one strength per bullet that lands.
Antigua's second, fourth, and sixth bullet will have one strength per hit.
Blast Bomb-like bombs and the DBB will have a strength of three.
Mist bombs will have one strength for the blast and one strength for each ripple the mist creates.
Vortexes will break the crystal/block immediately and will bring the loot/crystal to the center of the vortex.
The DR line will be the same as currently.
Sun Shards will be the same as currently.
Oh, and Quicksilver and Charged Quicksilver Helm and Mail should receive MSI Low and Mercurial Mail and Helm should receive MSI Med.
Also, how about custom avatar images for the forum, so we can have avatars that match our characters?
I'll put a link to my thread about the Gunslinger hats and my idea about how to change them in a simply yet nice way.
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/82962
For the rest I find it extremely smart to have a thread for all the fixes, or at least those worth of being seen =)
+1
I agree, you might want to add "Costumes for prestige/achievements".
I agree, you might want to add "Costumes for prestige/achievements".
I was thinking "that's not really a one-line suggestion" seeing as there are details about what the costume could be. But then I realised that it is.
Anyway, added new stuff. Guys, just because I don't comment on your threads, doesn't mean I haven't read them! Keep up the good work, lots of new good ideas passing through the suggestions forum that I've put here.
OH I almost forgot, you should probably add "More in arcade story, some having to do with the core, some simply the stories of those who live with in the clock work"
I don't have to suggest that. It's an unwritten fact that the story will be expanded on in the future. Anyway, this thread is for "small" suggestions.
Make a list of toggles. Toggle red screen (stupid vitapod), toggle mineral chat, toggle auto HUD lock when monsters are around, toggle radar options, etc.
Toggle red screen (stupid vitapod)
Toggle auto HUD lock? Erm why would you need the game to automatically HUD lock, that'd be frustrating when you need to click on something during a battle, for instance reviving someone. There's already a key for doing it manually.
If the radar was sorted properly, there wouldn't need to be a method to switch through the layers.
I disagree with changing name. Just because many knights have asked for it doesn't necessarily mean that it should be done or that it is even a good idea. Many have asked for dual wielding but I don't see that being listed as something that should be added cause many people have asked for it, whether in this list or not.
They should've carefully chosen their name during character creation, like you should for any other game. If they decided to name their knight something like ''popopopopopo'' or ''ekajbskdbsakdjba'' or ''Ilovetotallyspies'' (Not that I have anything against Totally Spies). Then too bad.
We can't just have knights being called 'this' one day then ''that'' the next. Their own friends or guild mates won't even know them as they could be anyone. Let's say you, Hexzyle, changed your name. It means that no one else has the name Hexzyle therefore I could name myself Hexzyle and go insult or do other things with your name. Even if you said to people that you (who lets is now called Hulk) were Hexzyle. I could just say that YOU are not and that I am, and that I you didn't change your name.
Do you get what I mean?

Particularly popular/powerful members of the community would likely consider using an alt to reserve their old name.
I like some of these suggestions.
At least 2 have been implemented already.
As for name changing: I'd do it this way:
1. One name change, ever. Think well before you do it, you don't get another chance.
2. You can look up player's old name somewhere in Inspect or /whois chat command.
3. Only premium players can change their name.
4. Changing name costs 1000 energy. So people won't rush renaming themselves.
/en/node/85655 Bring Back the "Waiting at lift" status. & Only have the forge notification if we actually can forge an item. & Heat amps should give % discounts on forging requirements.
/en/node/85764 Give us the ability to adjust the amount of rarities we can buy in a stack from Kozma.
(dunno what node) The puff of smoke from canceling bomb charges can damage the surrounding environment like a shock tick(excluding hurting allies) for bombers and minerals.
Added and added.
The puff of smoke from canceling bomb charges can damage the surrounding environment like a shock tick(excluding hurting allies) for bombers and minerals.
That's given me a great idea for visuals...
don't forget that it must be able to break blocks and minerals.
moar set effects. What I mean is some items cause an effect when you wear them that gets stronger with more of each piece. A good example of this is the dread skelly set and the dread venom crom set.
I don't understand what you're trying to say. If you mean practical bonuses, then no:

>No mention of Forge.
WAAAAI :c
When sorting the Auction House by variants, please sorts items by the total quality of the variants, not just the number of variants and random otherwise.
In the end-of-mission wrap-up, please sort items by type before star level; Equipment, rarities, tokens, materials, minerals.
Idea for new Expansion missions: One that grants you an E-class battle sprite (the default model sprite that the NPCs have, it eats food made of blue crystals). Missions that would let us pick up the other starter sprites would also be welcome, but I believe we've already been promised something along those lines.
Move "rare" materials (mask fragments, Shadow Lair drops, boss furniture bits, pet food) to the Rarities section.
Let us mark equipment as "favorite" or something similar so that it's always at the top of that section. Maybe let us mark regular gear as cosmetic, moving it to the Costume section.
Split the Costume section into helm and armor.
Unbind Alchemy Orbs and Fire Crystals. (Except for mission rewarded Orbs, of course.)
I well from a in battle stat stand point I think set "effects" should really function as a balancing tool. A good example for how a set effect would balance a armor line that is over powered could be the Chaotic effect . What does it do? Well it makes your weapon switch random. This would fit into the "unstable power" idea that the chaos set has as it makes your next weapon from switching random. The only issue I found with this one is the whole binding a weapon slot to a key. It should probably also just cause a random switch. Or the "broken channeling" effect. Basically what it would do is make it every time you get hit your power channeling from the armor would be broken causing the buffs it provides to be disabled for a second or two. This would go with the idea of the set being a glass cannon and would make it less forgiving to get hit with out making them get 1 shot every time.
I more meant like little effects for wearing them all. Like if you have the Ancient Plate set on and stop moving for a bit (or type "/afk") grass vines would start to grow and climb on you like you were a statue , or if you did "/taunt" while wearing a skolver set you howl. These are just examples that I'll be adding to the actual suggestion after posting this.
I have a small suggestion: remove the Gear Limit. I thought missions were something secondary, not a must.
More/Custom Avatars (As listed, not just Gunslinger. Custom would be inserting your own image)
Have A Tab on Forum Preferences (or change the name to something else) so you can have a page that says which threads you've posted on and which one's you've made. Organize them by Recently Posted On. So much easier than having to search up the name in the search bar. (That for me takes quite a while)
Already covered all that with the Improve Forum Engine point. None of that can be done on the current Drupal engine AFAIK.
An In Game Guild Message Board. Not the MotD, because that can only be changed by Officers and GM's, but a place where a member can post their WTB/WTS's. Not all guilds can have websites. And even if they did, the forum posting is often limited
There is already a guild megathread that covers that.
Yo Hexzyleface, you should make a table of contents. I haven't tried this on the SK forums but you could probably do this:
(in the content)
[strong id="BigText"]Big Text[/strong]
And then, in the ToC:
[a href="http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/79413#BigText"]Big Text[/strong]
Replace [ with < and ] with >, of course.
I had some suggestion for the thread but then I forgot it, also :/
I do already have sections marked for the list, if you look at some of the previous links on this page you'll notice that I link to certain sections.
A table of contents doesn't really work for this matter anyway since each item is only a line or two long. I guess I could put the sections in one though.
Yeah, that's basically what I meant. As of now, it's rather hard to navigate the original post.
Remembered my suggestion, also: if you make a typo in a name (say you want to /poke Hexzyle but you accidentally /poke Hexyle), it should simply be corrected unless there are two people with similar names around. I mean, if there's Hexzyle, Zeddy, and Fehzor in my party (those would also be the only ones I can poke), it's pretty obvious whom I meant to poke when I indeed made a typo and tried to poke "Hexyle".
I have some minor suggestions that I'd like to post here. Sorry in advance if these have already been discussed (there are lots of various ideas on the forums, so it's a bit hard to browse all of them).
1) I'd suggest to establish a connection between dropping fire crystals and the gear my knight has in the arsenal. Currently, all my items are 3* and 4*, but while exploring the Clockworks I keep and keep getting absolutely unnecessary 2* Warm Fire Crystals which occasionally drop even on Tier 2. I have by now amassed several hundreds of these crystals that I can neither use nor get rid of (they are not tradeable, you know). In case a knight has 3*-equipment only, it would be quite natural to drop 3* (maybe 4* as well, for future use) crystals only, regardless of the depth, and so on.
2) Currently, all items in any lists (arsenal, recipes, etc) are sorted alphabetically. I'd like to have the possibility to sort them by level as well (ascending from 0* to 5*, that is).
3) When I happen to go under the freeze status condition, my knight, obviously, cannot move or turn round. Quite naturally, I want my battle sprite to defend me and attack approaching enemies. Still, as it turns out, the sprite can only attack in the direction the knight is facing, as if it has been frozen as well. I guess that this is not exactly right and needs some correction.
Jendar: go read up, crystals drop according to depth/strata. You can list your items in the arsenal according to * level, option at the top.
As for the thread: DEV'S PLS, fix what you have instead of only bringing new things (don't get me wrong, I LUV new stuff but this thread has been here for so long and is totally viable)
@Krakob
If I remember correctly, PokeMMO (along with a lot of other games like the /bp function in TF2, and many functions in IRC) recognize names just by entering in the first few letters, provided that they are unique. For example, you could just do "/poke hex" and that would work, provided Hexhunter wasn't standing in the same instance.
@Jendar-Mmxii
1) I fail to see the issue with having "too many" crystals. They only take up one slot, just like materials you don't use or Sparks/Boss Tokens you don't need to look at. What's wrong with stockpiling them and feeling like a boss?
2) I believe "Natural" sorting does this, and most lists (Arsenal and Recipes) also have a "Star" sorting function.
3) This is an interesting point. However, the intended function of Battle Sprites was for them to not be a separate entity, but to be a "part of the knight", to fulfil the purpose of Knight Abilities. As the Battle Sprites are merely a graphic to please "pet beggers", it only makes sense that the abilities are fired in the direction the knight is facing, regardless of the Sprite's condition.
@Hexzyle:
1) Well, in fact, such stockpiling makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, but this is probably personal. I won't say, though, that it's the same as with materials or tokens: regarding these, I know that I can put them into use one day, while all those low-level crystals are totally useless - they do not even offer a chance to get a prize box.
2) Exactly, I should have looked better; found that, thanks.
3) I see. I thought that might be a game design overlook, but it seems that this corresponds to the initial idea.
Hex , you forgot to put in The Manliest Accessory Ever , http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/87050
Beards for cosmetics.
Put this in and update me in the thread
And remember ,
If you're dad doesn't have a beard you have two mums. -The Beards
@Zumerock
Fair enough, I'll go searching for Alphastevo's accessory thread too, there was a lot of good stuff in that one.
I put a +1 to about 80% of the suggestions. Great organization!
I just realized the currently bugged violent heart attack from seraphynx displays no damage at all, yet it breaks blocks.
This makes the first few items of 1.2: TIME SAVING possible without the 1 damage trick.
I believe that it does do damage, but not enough to overcome monster defenses. Just like how damage numbers don't show when you attack blocks or crystals, because their defenses are so high that the damage is zero. (but a registered attack is scripted to reduce its state by one)
I personally like all/most of these except one.
Damage numbers in LD.
1) A lot of factors to consider in terms of damage counting for devs.
2) Kind of distracting
3) It just doesn't seem to fit really, dunno why.
