What do you think about these weapons?
*Gokai - A Japanese Feudal-Era katana blade which deals pure normal damage and has a high chance of strong Fire. The charge is similar to a Cutter-line charge, except it sends out a Meteoric Firebolt on the last swing. The blade appears to be on fire, but this is just an illusion (and yet it still casts off light). When not in use, Gokai is held in a black sheath ornamented in steel that's attached to [player]'s waist.
*Black Barrage - A darkened Leviathan Blade covered in shadowy energy, which allows it to deal shadow damage as well as normal. Damage is equivalent to Obsidian Edge, with a slight chance of minor curse on the charge for both the user and enemies alike, similar to Fang of Vog and Gran Faust.

Gokai sounds fun but powerful. What combo style do you suggest it has and where is the status infliction (finisher, all hits, just charge)?
While Black Barrage sounds cool, it just doesn't feel like it'd beat GF in terms of curse infliction (since GF has it on the combo), nor would it beat a heavy sword's very useful crowd control vs Slimes.

1. I actually don't use mine for LD although I do bring it to PvE every once in a while. Using the hammer is actually pretty hard. It's probably one of the most advanced weapons in the game because there's just so much to do with it. You'll have to master the art of not shield cancelling the dash, learn to skip the dash (hit 1 > cancel > hit 1 > finisher), learn to dash around enemies to keep DPS high while also dodging, midstepping between the first hit and the dash, and more.

3. That's not ping, that's an unstable connection. If you have high ping, you just see everything but many a millisecond late. An unstable connection will cause what you see, the connection fading and actors just walking out of bounds and such.

Both the Gokai and Black Barrage have Leviathan combos. Gokai has status infliction chance on finisher and charge. I wouldn't really compare BB to a heavy weapon since it's a normal sword, but that's understandable anyways. Maybe the charge for Gokai should be a regular Firebolt instead of Meteoric Firebolt.

While it'd mostly fit, it would most certainly cause Devilites to use the font, ruining their businesses because no one would take them seriously.

I feel like Gokai would have to use CIV damage to be balanced at all and even then, it'd be pretty powerful. As for Black Barrage, it'd be nice but I just don't think I'd see a reason to use it over GF or Acheron.

I was actually thinking more like WHB vs beasts damage. Since they're (technically) my personal weapons, I was thinking of an OP (or slightly-OP) weapon mixed with a regular/weak weapon to compensate. But remember, there are still more OP weapons *COUGHACHERONCOUGH* than the Gokai.

You'll want to charge weapons that have a powerful single hit attack or status infliction. Brandishes, FoV, Alcchemers, Magnuses, and bombs only, I suppose. And then the question is, when?
Whenever you're not in combat (unless it's a bomb). When charging a weapon, you lose invinciframes and your enemies can kill you in a second or two if they get the change. It's also a good idea to not charge weapons when you'll be facing threats from the south as the enemy can rush in and score hits before you'll have time to react and use the charge. Once again, this does not apply to bombs.
Gun charges can be used to snipe enemies when you're south of them. As they won't see you unless you get too close, you can often score a sure hit. Storm Driver is the best for this as shock on the first shot will remove the enemy's invinciframes when the enemy spasms (and it always does straight away when the shock is inflicted), potentially causing internal ricochets and thus one-shotting enemies if you have a bit of luck.

Hey all! You might or might not remember that I somewhere said that I'd make an announcement at 500 posts. Turns out, I'm lazy. 120 posts later and here the announcement is!
In the near future, I intend to work on a few projects to help the community in various ways, mostly by giving the players a better understanding of the game.

I also intend to gather all data there is to get on the speed of 5* swords. It's gonna take a while but shouldn't prove especially challenging.

Depends on the gun. I'd say I'm pretty good with Valiance at this point and I play with a gamepad. Here's a vid of me using it along with FF and AoA, playing as Recon:

As for Alchemers and Antiguas, I can't use them with gamepad but my mouse aim is good enough. My technique is pretty good with mouse as well. I can switch shoot both with one gun and with two with mouse. I'm even working on the second one with gamepad and I have definitely improved lately.
