I think the better question is, "Why can't you shield bump stuff as a Guardian?"

That's more or less what I meant, except I wasn't sure if you can shield bump or not as guardian. Don't know if I've ever met a Rock Slime while playing gaurdian as I simply don't play it much.
I don't know when I figured that out but I don't think I realised it as much as I just read it somewhere.
Scenario: You are in a mission that is above your rank yet you have the right weapons. Next thing you know you and 1 gunslinger and 1 guardian end up in the center of 12 gun-puppies. Notice: You only have 2 swords and they fill your only weapon slots. To kill all of them with swords you have to kill them 1 at a time to gain access to the others. Question: Do you hope and pray the guardian defends you while the gunslinger kills them? Or do you kill the gun-puppies hoping and praying you don't die?
As I understand it, they're in a circle around us? I'd use my dash to hop through any bullets if necessary to head out to the edge and then I'd rely on interrupting them and turning them outwards to make it easier for my teammates who might sitll be in the center and for myself, as less bullets will be directed towards me since I'm not in the center. Any bullets would naturally have to be dodged and that's not too hard if the room is big enough.
You are in a circle but if you go to a specific area where a gun-puppie you become its main target. Therefore you put yourself in danger. And remember you not a person fit for this rank. Even your shield isn't fit for this mission. Just your weapons. So in summary I think that would be a bad idea. Just saying. But that was a good answer and it is a quite tight circle.
Being outside of the circle is still better than being within it. My shield doesn't matter much as even Swiftstrike can take a bullet in Elite S6 and with the right weaposn, I have interruption so it's not too bothersome.

Proto Shield. As for the sword, it's a tough question. Probably DVS, although there are plenty that are fun to use. Like Winmillion! DVS probably wins just because it was my first, really.

Re: PS: That sounds rather solid, but AP won't get you far in FSC. May I suggest you grab something like a Strike Needle? It's very useful for Vanaduke himself. Also consider a Combuster, or its 4* variant. Don't forget that heating 5* items is currently impossible. Heat doesn't affect defensive gear much, though. I recommend upgrading everything but the AP, any potential Blazebrand, and Strike Needle. Due to Acheron's recent buff, it gets more powerful than its 4* variant earlier and if you're going to use your Radiants for anything, Acheron is a good choice.

I like playing with Demos. They keep the crowds at bay while you can deal with key targets. Alternatively, their bombs can help position enemies or keep them vulnerable. Combos such as Vortexes+Brandishes or Stun vs Mechas and Crusaders are insane.

I wouldn't say the small buff from Frenzied was very worthwhile even with eight seconds. Of course, it's a lot more useful in groups as it affects everyone. I'm not too familiar with Explosive to judge which is the better, though. No matter, I'm sure it has potential when launched in crowds.

In PvE, a striker travels at usual Spiral Knight speed.
In PvP, a striker travels at a bazillion km/h when dashing.
