Sounds terrific but I don't recommend bringing Catalyzers to parties of nublets who haven't even seen one. They'll just ignore your orbs and probably kill the enemies you tag. You're best off in a party that knows how they work and if they don't know, explain how they work.
Yes. Swiftstrike is cheap and super powerful, although hard to use. It's not much of a shield so much as it is tool for allowing you hit and shield cancel faster. Learning to interrupt and dodge is the key to using it.
Sure, if you can manage to master Swiftstrike. Bear in mind, Swiftstrike won't get you through HOH though.

Yeah. Mostly dodging, though. Swifstrike can barely take any damage in T3, even less when running on Elite. Shield bumping is something you'll want to know with all shield. Never forget the ABCs of shields, though:

Antiguas are weak as primary weapons because there's an overpowered technique known as switch shooting which makes other things silly broken. So, they're mostly usable as side arms but they offer no utility so stuff like Pulsars, Blasters, and Alchemers are more preferable for statuses and knockback.
If you were to use any bomb, what bomb would that be aside from DR?

Not sure in which way you mean but if you want all defences at a time, you need to go with one of the following, listed in order of how good I think they are:
If you meant separately, then the obvious answer is Vog Cub, Snarbolax, and Skolver. One can use Chaos but you aren't a true generic Striker if you do.
As for swords: Combuster, Acheron, Final Flourish. Divine Avenger is pretty okay as an elemental sword, but I really don't think it beats Combuster in terms of overpoweredness.
