Have a suggestion for Spiral Knights? We would like to hear it.

Some ideas, for new(?) content.

So, wow I've never really posted on a forum before...huh.. Oh yeah the idea.

My idea for GH to kinda, make everyone happy with some new content that is, or should be...If the files weren't scrapped. Is for them to re-release the shrine to sleep tilesets, so that they can technically release some new content, without doing the work that comes from making new tiles and making a bunch of maps....

Make the title screens cycle (Every time you log in)

Here's an easy one!

You know how it shows Cradle when you log in? Remember how it used to show the Clockworks and it was all pretty?

Well, wouldn't it be neat if the game randomly cycled between these and maybe a few others? Others maybe like the Jigsaw Valley background and the Night Slumbargo background n' stuff.

(If you want a reference for what I'm talking about, go play Warframe, and when asked for a password, just keep restarting over and over again. Assuming you have some progress in the game I think you'll see what I'm talking about.)

I have been having this on my mind for a while now, so I am going to share the idea of a new and improved coliseum that may still need adjustments, but the main idea of this is for a balance plain-field, a greater challenge, and for fun.

What if the contests were like a way of life

If we're dead set on the game not going anywhere (you know who you are), then perhaps we could solve its issues through the contests? Swap out fun prizes for things you need to play the game ok just Radiant Fire Crystals and make contests the endgame grind. Add in contests like "fastest time through the arcade", "most damage in lockdown with X loadout" and "get research data on prize box statistics" that don't require us to show our faces or make sock puppets since there will always be people that won't do anything artsy, and run one contest a week with rewards for all participants etc.

Universal Orbs of Alchemy and Static Energy

So as just about everyone has noticed, the way in which alchemy is done (or just orbs, heat crystals/forge) is flawed. One problem is that orb drops are based on level depth and are highly RNG dependent, and another problem is that buying orbs is ridiculously expensive when compared to the past. Now I know many of you say that since we can still just buy the energy needed for orbs with crowns the orbs are better, but having game progression tied to RNG and an unstable economy (the price for CE is more than triple the price it was when I started playing) is just terrible.

A Kind Of GH Kickstarter?

Now, I'm not sayin' right away or if this'll even settle well with the community, just a thought since promos have left a bit of a sour taste in some players' mouths. Thanks, Sega, for using SK as a cash cow then dumping it. :l NOT.

SK Balance And Teamwork

Submitted by Arkayrio on Mon, 05/09/2016 - 16:36

  • Suggestions

One of the core values SK preached was the importance of teamwork, however teamwork isn't really important at all in the game. Most players can handle the game on their own (all without ever changing weapons). If SK is to stand any chance of actually recuperating as a game imo it needs to make a few slight balance alterations that would bring back teamwork in the game, aswell as gear variation.

For the sake of not turning this into a "Damn this weapon sucks", "It's not that bad, this weapon is worse right now" I'm going to be pretty general with these suggestions.

A list of things that should probably be dealt with.

I.e. what we've discussed over the last two years in a shellnut.

Bomb/Sword Updates

The gunner update twisted the balance massively in favor of guns. To balance this out, we've predicted a bomb/sword update of some sort.

The gist of it.. well-

Armors- Padded line = huge for gunners, possibly split it into sword/bomb/gun lines since it also floods basil every run and there's just too much of it. Mad bomber is also broken due to chaos.

sword update

we already had a gunner update and I already made a suggestion thread for a bomber update a long while ago. but swords need some love too, so lets look into that.
the gunner update added a lot of guns, expanding old alchemy lines and significantly broadening the gear selection for gunners. I want to get a similar level of gear choice for swords, except for armor, which was excessive in the gunner update.

first, lets think about the sword types we have now.

Reverse effects of invincitinks

Submitted by Sir-Pandabear on Mon, 05/09/2016 - 04:10

  • Suggestions

Invincitinks occur when skilled players have managed to manipulate enemy positions and weapon aim in such a way as to hit that enemy a lot, with the intention of killing them really fast.

The current behaviour is to punish players by removing 100% of the damage done in these cases.

My suggestion is to reward combo streaks by adding 100% damage done from attacks that manage to hit tinks. We'll call this effect "awesometinks".
