I am writing a little story about a 'what if' scenario, in this scenario, Emperor Tinkinzar secretly managed to secure KV-103 and a few other machinauts before Nalki could. This leads to a new timeline - Machinauts: Crimson Iron Chronicle

((@KV-103: I hate to be the bad guy, but you're going to need to put that fanfic one-shot in its own thread and post a link to it. It's a lot of text (more than anything that wasn't my posts) and might confuse people about what's canon and not canon in Machinauts. I would do this if anyone put any kind of fanfic here; you are not being singled out for any reason.

(Also, regarding canon, Tinkinzar's flavor text states that he's never even been seen by common Gremlins. It doesn't make much sense to have Tinkinzar break this charade just to get free Machinauts- this scenario would make more sense if he sent the Crimson Order.)

Back on topic, the next fight will begin on either Monday or Tuesday night. You can suggest moves to AFK Machinauts, and I'll default to those moves as long as they're possible (and aren't obviously tactical suicide; having ASSASSIN attack a Wolver with a Beam Shamshir when he has a Flourish is an example of "obviously tactical suicide").))

((@Doc I have moved the story to a new thread, Although I have to say Tinkinzar's flavor text should be taken with a grain of salt, after all, Tinkinzar's definition of common Gremlins may be different from ours. And in this scenario, only Nalki, KV-103, and his body guards were present on the scene. So I think this still stays in character with Tinkinzar when it comes to secrecy.))

(I may or may not be preparing another silly intermission sketch inspired by the Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook from Monty Python's Flying Circus. Which might involve desecrating canon and abusing self-inserts in order to make it happen.)

After overhearing the information on hand about Lharrig, I jumped to conclusions and created a notifier for myself.
{Assassinate Lharrig the Locust and do the galaxy a favor.}

"I have a feeling we might be getting ourselves into a dangerous situation, but I'm probably predicting a worst-case scenario here." I said, wondering how this might turn out. "I can only hope things stick to plan."

(Ah yes. Homework. The ultimate spanner in the works. Needless to say, we'll probably have more delays than Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy edit-I mean Final Fantasy XV. I don't like how Square Enix is turning Final Fantasy into an action game. I mean, have you SEEN the FFVII remake? I'd actually play the PlayStation original instead of that to be honest.)

((Whether it's The Ditz, The Fool, Inspector Oblivious, or a monkey, this miscreant is capable of derailing the most ironclad plan by unknowingly taking a third option. They ruin the implausible Gambit Roulettes by exploiting their one, intrinsic flaw: their reliance on Contrived Coincidences, rigid patterns, and the assumption that nobody would be stupid enough to actually push the Big Red Button or fight the apparently unstoppable robot.

These characters are The Chessmaster, Smug Snake, Manipulative Bastard, and Magnificent Bastard's worst nightmare.

I guess I know now why Thinslayer doesn't like to RP with me.))

(I think I should've put a TV Tropes warning right there...

In the meantime, I'll be drawing as I usually do on my tumblr. (Can't really give a link due to foul language galore and I'm pretty sure Grey Havens wouldn't have any of that - you'll have to bug-me in-game for the link) Or, you know, upload it to imgur and hotlink it into my posts. Like this. Or being lazy. Or farming crowns. Or beating up Grineer. Or playing the many games I need to play (Fossil Fighters: Frontier, Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Persona 4, so on so on). Or making overly-long gags like this.

Also, I find it sad that most of the people who've joined have either forgotten to post or stopped altogether, and I'm worried it might just be KV-103 and Ignem doing the final blow. I mean, I will want to play to the end, but whether anyone else would is their matter. Sorry for the natter, btw.)

((All right. I'm sorry if this chapter has dragged on a bit too long. From here on, it's mostly just bosses till the end of the chapter, and there's not too many of them.))

You gather just at the foot of the crags where the Cave was, fully repaired. Now, you wait...

KABOOM! The cave starts to collapse as a number of heavy plastiques detonate atop it. ...But it wasn't enough?

"Well, as it turns out," a surprisingly calm voice states, "That was pointless."

Could this be Lharrig? "They're already evacuated, and all the turrets are-" Lharrig's voice suddenly changes from eerily calming to clear, gibbering insanity- "GOING TO FALL DOWN, DOWN, DOOOOWN! WAAAHAAAAAAA-"

You hear something destroying the turrets guarding the nearby entrance. "Yep, there he is. Hit him while he's occupied with the turrets!" IS-M44 says.

"-perhaps I should be more stealthy aboRIP AND TEEEEEEAR! Well, there goes that idea. It appears something is approaching. CARRY ON, MAKE THE TURRETS SUFFER AND BURN! Turrets don't suffer. I'm doing this for a tactical advantage AND BECAUSE THE LOCUST IS SWAAAAARMING!"

The turrets are disabled, but Lharrig, with a maddened grin on his face, is eagerly destroying their remains; meanwhile, ticking Mad Bombs have been left just lying around. Now would be a good time to launch a Charge Attack, but be wary of those bombs!

((Lord Inceptron Is a DPS race with a twist, notice that his HP cap is 0 at the start of the battle, that means he can't HEAL until the mid way of his health, since players' damage inflicted become a part of his health cap, his health would be something like 75,000/75,000, that is when he could actually heal any damage by draining the players' health. And every time he attacks/heals, he makes himself vulnerable, With that been said though, he still need some serious tweaking. And do keep in mind I don't know what the Hp scaling will be going from T2 to T3, so Inceptron could be either too hard or too easy at that point. ))

You gather at the center of the Scrap Sector, and as the Fixitrodes move over to you and start patching up the damage from all those bombs, IS-M44 goes over a little information. "All right, so here's how things are looking."

"While you were over there, other squads have been raiding labor camps like the one you hit. But the inner camps are all deserted, with the mist taken and most of the slaves sprung- or shot," IS-M44 says with regret. "We think they're pulling back to their ship with the Mist. Initial reports say it was to get it airborne, but... there's a few things wrong."

"One, we've got some Thaargan defecting- most of them being old regulars that are following Thaargan's example. They're largely claiming that, recently, Thaargan emperor Gol-Rataan hasn't been himself. He was a coward until right before the big assault on the Refuge... then there was some noise coming from his throne chamber aboard their ship. According to these accounts, Gol-Rataan has been more aggressive, and more adamant about showing us no mercy, ever since this happened."

"Which isn't really call for concern- by all accounts, Thaargan have midlife crises, too- but scouts have also reported that they're keeping their low guns armed. The techies say that those would be useless in leaving the atmosphere- but are highly useful for surface bombing. Between that, Gol-Rataan's recent madness, and the relative spookiness surrounding the Subversion Helms and the Antiflame, we have reason to assume the worst. You're in a prime position to delay their takeoff, so I'm looking through flanking routes you can use to get around their main camp..."

"I'm right with you there, King." A few routes show up on your HUD. "All right. The route in red cuts straight to the ship, but you'd run into way too many pirates. The main force is currently engaging them around the yellow route, shown here, and flanking routes will probably try to break through Sector 33. Turrets and Geonids can hold that line, so see that green route?"

A green route on the HUD winds its way through a series of Snipe roosts. "This area has been mostly kept safe from the Thaargan by the local nature Sprites. It'll probably admit you- there's just one hostile in the area. Well, six, anyway- remember those Slime wizards you fought? Scouts spotted them hanging around there, and we're expecting them to have a hostile reaction to your presence. Still, a lot faster than taking at least three hundred pirates head on. We need to get to that ship before they take off."

Matikclocker X arrives, ready for action- and with that, you begin your march on the Thaargan mothership.

After a short trek across some artificial plains, trees begin to dot the landscape, with Snipes peering down at you from the treetops. Before long, you're surrounded by large hedge-trees, most of them grown from seeds by Sprites. The occasional Thaargan weapon shows up on the ground- implying that the Sprites had to keep the pirates out by force. Yet it would appear they're not going to bother you, because you're just passing through.

But you won't get out without a fight. Rounding an abandoned Dust Bunny warren, you spot the familiar... faces? of six cytoplasmic conjurers. They appear to be surrounding a faintly-glowing sword...

"Translators are active," IS-M44 says, "So you should be able to hear what they're saying.

"Check it out!" The Gray Squishy Wizard says. "This looks like Durandal. The Owlite Blade!"

"To think such a weapon lies in our hands!" The Green Wizard flourishes his staff; as always, he has a flair for the dramatic. "I cannot imagine it upon my mantelpiece!"

"Mantelpiece?" The Gold Wizard says, "I'm sellin' this thing and rakin' in the cash!"

"Both of you are stupid," The Red Wizard shouts. "We should use its power to find those robots and make them PAY for beating us THREE TIMES!"

"Twice, Red." The Blue Wizard says, "They beat us twice. That last time was in a game."

"THAT COUNTS AS THREE TIMES!"

"No, it really doesn't."

"Hold on, here they come!" The Violet Squishy Wizard turns about, and is quickly joined by the others. The Grey Wizard wields the sword they just found: Durandal, an ancient Owlite Blade! ...Wait. Is it actually Durandal?

"Ah, shoot! There they are! All right, we can solve this peacefully-"

"DIE, DIE, DIE!"

"Our foes have arrived!" The Green Wizard points his staff dramatically at you. "Now, let our clash begin!" The Green Wizard seems to have summoned some kind of battle music!

But... it doesn't really fit...

"WAIT! STOP THE MUSIC!" The Green Wizard mumbles something else, changing the music. "There we go! Now, Gray Wizard! Unleash upon them the might of Durandal!"

"All right, Machinauts! Uhh... Fear the power of my Durandal!"
