Thank you for being so patient with me. Here's a little cookie for you guys :D

Edit: The next chapter release will be delayed for a couple hours or few.
A thousand needles it shall be... Just kidding...
Glad to have you return (/^3^)/
You still keeping track of the points?
Yes, I have my own methods ;)
Don't worry, everything is being accounted for right here. I've got every exact person in record.
"Right, you're always so busy; I know." Gina smirks, "Go ahead and leave me alone here, I'll be fine. Just remember to bring a broom along when you come back, then you can help sweep off all the cobwebs around here later." She turns her head away from you, keeping her cuffed arms crossed.
You have no choice but to say goodbye and dash to the Spiral HQ meeting room. Along the way, you notice some knights heading towards the same direction, and they're wearing the same navy uniform as you. That's a good sign that you're not late for the meeting just yet, thanks to Gina.
You locate the entrance of the meeting room, noticing that it's nearly overloaded with all sorts of knights squeezing past through the door. As you try to push yourself past among sweaty Guardians, you catch a glimpse of some of the respected knights of the Spiral Order sitting right at the end.
Both of the lieutenants, Feron and Vaelyn are present, even Recon Ranger Desna is there beside them. Two separate monitors are turned on at the end of the room. Intel agent Kora appears in one, and Wegner in the other. You know that the lieutenants never attend such a meeting unless there is a dire situation at hand, not to mention packing every single Spiral HQ agent into a room. You figure that this is probably one of the worst case scenario the knights have ever encountered.
After everyone is being seated, Feron clears his throat gently to catch everyone's attention. "Good morning, my fellow comrades. I apologise if we've cut into you activities, but right now we have disclosed a situation, something that has probably never occurred before. I'll let Kora brief you with that."
Feron nods at Kora, who immediately starts speaking through the monitor. "Thanks Feron. Now, as all of you may know, we've encountered several cases of increased Fiend activity in the Clockworks. Some of you might recall the happening in Amu-Sol. This time, it's something similar, but possibly worse. According to Wegner, we've detected several Trojans spawning all at once, especially where they are most unlikely to appear."
"Yes indeed." Wegner says, currently on the other screen. "I've received a detailed report from one of the researchers, and I can conclude that this confirms the strange phenomena. I've collected enough evidence to find out that the Trojans appeared most frequently in the Dark Cities and Haunted Passage, which is rather peculiar. We've never encountered any Trojans, much less their statues, inside regular Clockwork passages."
"That alone is already threatening," Kora continues, "and apparently we've found out another information from this. Knights who ventured in the Clockworks suddenly disappear at the exact same time we get a report of Trojan groups spawning. We assumed it was purely coincidental. However, this happened more than a dozen times, and we're getting suspicious; these events might have a strong relation to each other. We must investigate and identify this link, and put this double-threat to a stop."
Vaelyn shuffles a little in her seat, speaking for the first time in the meeting, "Therefore, we are all gathered here to assign squadrons for that purpose. As Wegner stated, we are going to infiltrate the Scarlet Fortress, that's where the most recent reporting came in this morning. There will be two task forces, each will be assigned to move to separate wings of the fortress, West and East. The Western force will head to the ancient archives, while the Eastern force will have to sneak past the heavily guarded area and try to tackle the Trojans. Hopefully, one of these groups will discover the missing knights' fate on time.
Feron glances back at the rest of the attendees, staring deep into everyone's eyes before he speaks again, "Now, who shall volunteer for this mission? You get to choose which task force to join. Remember, we are in a desperate situation. Code Amber. You know what that means."
A. Volunteer to join the Western force.
B. Volunteer to join the Eastern force.
C. Pull back from this mission.
Fun! Although it seems that you'll need to transfer points from at least 3 stories to be able to get those special prizes. I'm going to go for it.
Will edit my choice here when the story comes --> So we can ether A: Go to some archives (might be a trap) B:fight some trojans and feinds. or C:quit the mission and check on Gina. I'm going with C. Gina KNOWS things. my second choice would have been a.
If you have 20 points, can you get 2 random materials?
Also, can you post a point board to see how many points we all have? It would be useful.

Sure, you can redeem in any way you like. Say, you have 60 points. You can choose to redeem 6k cr, or roll for 6 materials. It's all up to you.
Yes, putting up a point board is indeed useful. Here it is.
Let the Guardians deal with the Trojans on the Eastern force. That's what they're here for.
A.
We're just a Geo Knight, after all.
Archives might be intresting for a geoknight... Im a bit confused by the score thingy, maybe you could make a list for the diffrent ways to get points?
Edit: OH
Basically, all you need is to simply cast a vote. One point is rewarded for each vote. Bonus rounds can give extra points, depending on various factors.
There is a Main Compendium for your reference, you can find everything there.
Our story earned third place in Isis's contest! Thank you all for your support! Without you, this will never be possible.
To those who have voted for this story entry: I thank you so so much! Also, congratulations to Artistbma for getting first place!
As a token of appreciation, all the regular players who have voted both in The Gremlin Spy and Rise of the Legion gets 10 points!
Until then, adventure on fellow knights!
YAY 10 POINTS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hunted down the peoples who voted for you. Here they are:
Unstable-Ordinance
Infernus-Dragneel
Shotjeer
Isisdelltion
Korakc
There ya go!
Looking forward to seeing this move up again! It's a wonderful story, and I'm not at all surprised on the ranking you received. :)
I'll throw in a vote for A. Hope it's not to late to join in on the fun!
The battlefield is no place for a researcher, though you might want to explain the situation to Gina before you go. She might be headed for a divorce- Wait... Why did I say that? (Nudge... Nudge...)
Ask him to find me a Book of Dark Rituals, will ya? :P
@Travid
One is never too late to adventure ;)
@Meta-Knight-Kirby
We'll see about that, shall we?
A receives the most votes!
If you want to know how much points you've earned, remember that you can visit first page of this forum post to check on the point scoreboard.
(Sorry for letting this story slip past the forums. Sometimes when I notice some regulars aren't posting yet, I'll delay the next chapter, until they hopefully make their votes in time. Things do happen once in a while, so I thought it is better to give a chance rather than skipping ahead cruelly.)
You volunteer to take part in the mission, and everyone in the room also makes the same decision to hop in. "Thank you for your bravery and valiant spirit," Vaelyn says plainly, "but now isn't the time for honour medals just yet. We shall march into the Crimson Fortress right now, and split into your assigned task forces. I will lead the Western Force, while Lieutenant Feron and Desna shall lead the Eastern Force."
"Now for my fellow Geo Knights," Wegner starts his briefing, "if you are in the Western Force, your task is to guide your team through the ancient library; that place is probably a mad labyrinth filled with dust and danger. The ones in the Eastern Force, you are to collect as many data as possible from the Trojans. Of course, all of you should bring back any valuable information and evidence you find along the way; you are granted authority to do so. But remember: our ultimate goal is to seek out the missing knights, before their lives spiral to an end."
"That's it for now, you may be dismissed." It is Kora's turn to speak, "Remember: we are never certain of the dangers ahead of us. Always remember to stay on your guard. Good luck out there, knights."
[Continued at next post]
[In this bonus round, there are only two decisions available. One is certainly the good one, the other is... well, the other way round! So choose wisely, because it will decide if you can succeed smooth as silk, or end up in a very sticky situation, even a dead end!]
After much hassle and tussle, the whole squadron of the Spiral HQ finally breaches through the entrance of the grand Scarlet Fortress.
You can sense that amidst the ruins, the restless dead are still lingering around the corridors, mixed with the living who found its way behind the stone walls. As though if there are mysterious forces working through the fortress, the details of the tapestries clung on the walls and the ancient bricks built into it are amazingly well-preserved. Some say the Spookats around here love cleanliness so much, they lick off everything filthy so they can settle in forever till time's end. A ridiculous claim said that a Spiral Knight whose occupation was a lowly janitor died inside this horrible manor, and his soul resolved to resume his work forever, dusting off the tapestries and cleaning the cobwebs from old books. Of course, none of these are proven real. In fact, rumours are often false and fabricated from the imaginative mind, which might even include Gina as well. Could she be lying all this time?
"Hey there, you're okay? You look rather quiet today." Someone nudges your shoulder, interrupting your train of thought. The voice sounded familiar to you, and you turn around to see Terrin looking down towards you (he seems so tall even when squatting down). You noticed earlier that the Guardian was also assigned to the same task force as you, and he even came forward to give a salute. While the squadron was working hard to push past the entrance, you've seen him on the front-line, charging through all the monsters without fear. Despite of all the tiring work, he simply shook it all off and continued further. Above all else, he was always there to protect every member. You consider him as the only Guardian knight you've truly come to such a close contact.
"Hello? Are you alright?" Terrin shakes your shoulder again. You imply that you feel perfectly fine. "OK then, I was a little worried when I saw you walking without looking where you're headed to. Well, speaking of which, we've already spit into our respective teams earlier. So, I think we're going to need some direction any moment soon. You might want to prepare for that."
Right after Terrin finishes his sentence, Lieutenant Vaelyn gives her first order, "We've reached the archives library now. Geo Knights, will you mind showing us the way?"
Immediately, you pull out your scanning apparatus, and a couple of other knights did the same. You briefly glance around your surroundings, and you realise that instead of brick walls, there are tall bookshelves on your left and right, extending to all directions. Indeed, Wegner's predictions can be dead accurate.
You and the team of Geo Knights succeed to map out the library's inner bearings within a few minutes, much to everyone's delight. "Good, now tell us if you see the knights anywhere around here." Vaelyn orders.
You look through the map quickly, but you can't find anything vital. However, you do notice some strange readings. First of all, there is a void area at the end of one passage, which means the scan was somehow blocked off by something inside that spot, leaving behind a blank area in your map. Secondly, you see a dead end at the other passage, with no knights there nonetheless. However, there is a hidden tunnel underneath the ground nearby. It is still unknown where the tunnel leads to, so you will have to travel there in order to uncover its secret location.
"There is a void area at our left, I suggest we go look beyond that point." One of the Geo Knights voices his opinion.
"No, that is way too risky. On our right, there is a secret hideout, like some sort of basement. The knights could be in there." says the second Geo Knight.
Vaelyn shifts her attention towards you, "Well, what else do you find? Do we have any other way?"
A. Suggest to travel into the void area.
B. Move to the secret tunnel.
Because... err... how do I explain it? I just knew this from few other people who made obvious things the wrong stuff, that is all I'm going to say!
Uh oh. This is definitely Do or Die.
But because the story says A is too risky, you obviously want us to pick B, which is supposedly the non risky one, but I bet it truly is the risky one so...
AAAAAAAAAAA.
EDIT: NINJA'D
Hmm i chose A because the secret tunnel seems to be creepy so A!
I can't tell if A is a trap, or where the knights are being held. Last do or die, I choose the correct choice by using logic (everyone else choose the other one however). So, logically, we should go to B because if you wanted someone to go into a trap, you would get rid of any way to detect you wile your hiding and then hide the thing there looking for. Also, SOMETHING bad has to be jamming the signal.
A void sounds lovely and all...but a secret passage could also lead to some information that wouldn't be ordinarily found. Also, it'd give our troop some secrecy too as we go around the Scarlet Fortress.
Actually, I have 11 points due to voting for the Gremlin Spy in Isis's contest. I choose A, because someone's obviously blocked off that area because they don't want to be found, or they're hiding something or someone there (knights!).
EDIT: Oh, it seems I may have misunderstood the prize criteria. Are there any prizes for voting in the contest?
So lets go with IT. A is my thought.
I will probably regret this...
Heads for A, Tails for B
/flips a coin
Tails.
/hopes for a Book of Dark Rituals
Going with B, as there has thus far been no indication that we're adequately prepared to deal with a Void zone.
Asking why it's A?
Personally, I would LOVE to go with A, but here's the thing:
I don't trust in my team's combat abilities, because even the toughest Guardians (Arkus was in fact, an annoyingly hard to kill Guardian, considering he wasn't dead even when he had crystals growing in his back) would probably not pull off a perfect phalanx if they have no idea what's in their radars. Radars that we Geo Knights use to help determine enemy locations, objects of interest, etc. If that phalanx is broken, that leaves a couple of Strikers and Gunners to defend us. When those people fall, it's just Vaelyn and the Geo Knights who are left to be brought down. Although I would like to think that a single lieutenant could protect the Geo Knights, I seriously have no faith in her double-toothpick abilities, mainly because they are TOOTHPICKS. They might have reach and damage, but she simply has too much of an area to cover should the phalanx break. Besides, the last thing that jammed our radars were massive amounts of Swarm. I don't think that the majority of our forces can even withstand 20 seconds of pure Swarm attacks, so it's best to back off.
Of course, B could be a trap. We just go down the basement, and then the door locks on us...
Which puts us into a trap room. Great.
Either way, those are both very IFFY choices, with barely any information to pull from. I assume that the "secret" room is a lie, since our radars aren't picking much up from beneath the room. If we had the ability to perform a higher-level sonar/radar scan that could pierce through the rooms, then I'd be fine, but...
We're also in a long, dark tunnel. If a trap triggers, that'd kill off 3/4s, if not all of our forces. So...
It has to be A.
~~~
Ya know, this thing caused me to almost turn into a Rabid Snarbolax because of the thinking required. We have no useful info as to what can help us expect what is up ahead, so I just had to assume things. Thanks for making me wing it. :L
@Unstable-Ordinance
I'm sorry, I didn't have that one planned. Of course, I thank you sincerely for voting for that entry, and I couldn't say it enough.
@Vinnydime
No problem :3
On the sidenote, what if I say the void isn't related to the Swarm at all? Hmm... (Trojans aren't even mentioned together with the Swarm either)
@Snow: Then perhaps it would be useful to know, when making decisions of this type, what, exactly, our character knows about the void. Currently, we're voting on assumptions made according to gameplay, but if, in this continuity, the Geo Knights have a different understanding of how things work, some votes may go differently.
Today is the day! and new page! :D
