I have an idea for Otto. He's a kind of bounty hunter, correct? Maybe have him hunt down the Finder. He doesn't have to go alone - Arch or Damian could go with him.
Return to Cradle: Origins (roleplay discussion)
I'm thinking...the damage to the timeline and the Crystallizer existing in the same time period reveals an endless dimension, which ends up being the underside of reality. I'm thinking it's a place connected by a violent darkness, not like the Swarm but of something else[<--SPOILERS], and it's too dangerous to use as a permanent shortcut, but convenient enough to be used as an escaped and short shortcut. This place won't allow anything in it to be killed. Everything is connected, even the trees and ground itself to the inhabitants. They are the most sacred animal in existence, and remember, it is a dark place.
Listen to this song and then imagine a forest of black with a dark gray sky, and dark creatures moving about, the trees, grass, and creatures lined with the color red, as neon lights flash in random places throughout the air, a perpetual rain of gray, and the Beasts constantly attacking you, as an epic battle ensues while traveling the dimension to get to the Overworld destination.
Pretty good...but we could use someone right now x3
I want to post something, but I'm totally out of ideas how to make my entrance.
@Seatus, why don't we use that dark place as the TRUE, ultimate Shadow Lair, the place where the Swarm was first born? :D
@Thin The Realm is the Realm of the Lost Snarbolaxes. Snarbolaxes were the first beings to ever come into creation. They were originally Snarbolax-looking, and began to have the greatest technological advances any have ever beheld. They found they could transfer between a Snarbolax and a human form. But once at the peak of their time, practically mortal gods, they began their descent. They lost their minds in their brilliance, and killed many and could doom whole worlds with two packs or three. These Snarbolaxes were sacrificed to the Infestation, otherwise known as the Swarm. The way to get into the First Shadow, the Infested Realm, is simple.
*Behold a Snarbolax a mirror.
*Fill bowls on either side of the mirror with Swarm.
*Take one thorn for each bowl, and sacrifice them separately.
*Feed the Snarbolax an Owlite Feather
The mirror shall turn into a gateway, the Snarbolax trapped to stand where it is until the Owlite Feather is digested.
What happens if the Snarbolax gets bored and wanders away?
Well, Sir Snarble wasn't born a Snarbolax and probably isn't very strong, Diavolo could easily capture him with a boost from the Crystallizer. But whatever can capture Seatus has to be reaaly REALLY strong. And Seatus's Father is too far away and his brothers haven't been born yet.
Whatever can capture a Snarbolax can hold a Snarbolax in place, Thin.
So these aren't willing participants. Gotcha.
If the Snarbolaxes were the first beings, then how would one obtain an Owlite Feather to travel to their realm if the Owlites weren't co-original with them?
I propose a simpler method similar to that in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. One must acquire all the unique Shadow Steel fragments of the dimensional mirror, place them in the correct positions on the ancient power stand, and put a single Ecto Drop in the center to activate it. Stepping through will take you to the Shadow Realm.
With Diablo finally capturing Gwen, and taking them to interrogation, should Axis go cover for them saying something along the lines of "the beast took them" or should he just call in assassins and siege the council building?
Have Gzilla do whichever is more strategically sound. Saying that the beast (Seatus or the Finder?) took them may focus their hostility against said beasts until the lie is discovered, in which case it will backfire spectacularly. Sieging the council building may have a wide variety of effects depending on how it's carried out.
I am currently 1: busy and 2: out of ideas of what to post. Do you plan on Euclid escaping or should I rescue him?
Blackout guys, sorry. Been spending a while writing the Lore for the dimension. Here we go.
The Infestation's home, the underside of reality, is the home of the Forsaken. The Snarbolaxes were cast away a little later after the Swarm was. The Swarm, instead of absorbing them, connected all of them to the trees, ground, and each other. They surrounded the Swarm, building another civilization despite their primitive minds. They built their overlord a Mirror, thirteen feet tall, thirteen feet wide. The Swarm left, leaving the Snarbolaxes. The Mirror, upon being passed through, shattered. The Snarbolaxes spent many years, but eventually, they fixed the mirror.
The rift will soon open. And the Overworld will struggle to fix it.
What does Diablo have planned for Top and Gwen anyway?
EDIT: also some side notes, I messed up on Axis's app, he's around 26-27 not 21, and secondly sorry for sort of closing off all other people from the scene with The Finder. Placing the blame of Gwen and Seatus's kidnapping on Top was too good to pass up.
@Dmatter: Euclid couldn't rescue himself if his life depended on it. He'll need someone else to rescue him. :P
I'm a little less out of ideas (though no less inactive on this front). I've been brainstorming a bit; lately, I've considered 1) throwing a few main characters your way, literally or figuratively, 2) having him be a part of some kind of attack in Almire, or 3) inserting an entirely new main character in addition to Euclid to spice things up.
@Gzilla: Marriage.
Also, genius. :D
@Thin Oh, yeah, I know you need time and stuff but could you please tell me whether or not the character in post 263 can be used. Thanks.
Come on guys, where are you? Astraea, Archemiday, Damian, and Otto aren't the slightest bit interested in the Finder or where Gwen went off to? Nobody cares that Diablo showed up? You wanted action, you got action.
Where'd you all go?
It's the middle of the night. Only the people who still have contact with the real world are sleeping. *Can't open door to reality*
How in the nine circles of hell would Otto have known about the Finder?
The monster crashed through the window, seized the stranger who'd traumatically inhabited the former Queen's brother, and jumped out with him.
If I were Otto, I'd be pretty darn curious.
Otto wasn't at the meeting. He stormed out with his CE remember?
Ah...I see. First Baptist isn't far from the Council building, though. It's plausible that Otto could have seen some of the action from afar. *hint*
The sun is conspiring against me. It's two in the morning here, and I can't sleep because I'm at my friend's house. And the battery is starting to get low. I'M DOOOOOOOOMED (to wait until I can get home ;-;)
Darn, that sounds like a mess. You waiting for pickup?
I am a slave to my consciousness. I wish I could go home! But I'm not eager to find out what happens if my family thinks there's a break-in. It really sucks to have a different biological clock than everyone, just because you're a recluse. -.-"
I'm guessing apps are no longer being accepted ? I always find the cool stuff too late
Since Seatus royally screwed up the timeline, could I make it that boss character I made is brought back? Otto has already killed her, and he remembers doing so, so he kills her again and takes her Glaive. Please?
*raises hand* I'd like to fix what I've done. I posted what I did in a hurry...my phone battery was running low, but I'm back on my Wii U...can I fix it, or am I stuck?
I personally like the timeline messing up. It might add something. It might even be used even better if whatever the hell the Star Drahon doesn't fix it all to make Seatus learn a lesson. But it's your character, and I'm in no position to tell you what to do.
I was talking about interupting Top and Gwen.
Also, Seatus doesn't need a lesson. He's actually happy for once, that's all.
And the Star Dragon cleans up after Seatus so the timeline can continue how it needs to. That's why he employed Seatus, isn't it?
Help is on the way: Seatus was there, and Damian was miles away.
Somehow got in the room: From the first Return to Cradle, Seatus could teleport if needed.
Slept: He doesn't need to rush, does he?
Top and Gwen: Needed to build up a story, and I sped and and slowed down too fast, disrupting the flow of the story. Damian added to that.
Dark Burst: What kind of drawback is there if it only lasts for one second, yet you can get anywhere in that second. If anything, it sounds like a faster teleport.
Location: Damian had no clue about where they were being held. One cell out of a hundred others. Seatus has a connection to Gwen, and that connection persists through timelines because it remains with Seatus. He probably wasn't far from where Gwen was anyway.
Last of All, and Nothing to do with the Story: Your "energy" drawbacks to your special attacks aren't really drawbacks. You act as though the "energy" doesn't matter, and it's just an excuse to do whatever stuff you want. Now, if it would injure and actually make you bleed and feel pain to your character, disabling him, I could believe that.
What is the point if Seatus then? If the Star Dragon just cleans up everything, why have a mess in the first place?
Yeah, that help is on the way thing was obviously a smartass remark. I personally think you are using that to make up a reason. But I could be wrong, and you'd obviously deny that no matter what.
(Hope I'm being fair to help up with Star Dragon Thin)
Godly being can't attack each other directly. They have to have others do the work, or the Swarm would've been destroyed a long time ago, along with the Gods going to War against each other. There are probably rules, or everything would fall apart, Frostrex.
==================================
WHOA! Frost, if you have a grudge, just stop. I am asking Thin if I can fix what I did, so don't go hating me. T_T
I didn't know Seatus was a guardian. Now I'm questioning why the hell he is even there in the first place. XD I'll just reread the posts, I skimmed through them as they were too long and I'm not even supposed to be on.
WHAT?! In not talking to you, talking to Ultima! Sorry, shoulda specified. I have nothing against either of you. It's just criticism.
Help is on the way: Seatus was there, and Damian was miles away.
Miles away? Then either Diablo can travel faster than Astraea or Seatus can use extremely long-ranged teleportation.
Somehow got in the room: From the first Return to Cradle, Seatus could teleport if needed.
A snarbolax teleporting? How? Does he access some realm? Or does he just simply 'teleport' somehow, with no logical explanation behind it?
Slept: He doesn't need to rush, does he?
He was tired.
Top and Gwen: Needed to build up a story, and I sped and and slowed down too fast, disrupting the flow of the story. Damian added to that.
Fair point.
Dark Burst: What kind of drawback is there if it only lasts for one second, yet you can get anywhere in that second. If anything, it sounds like a faster teleport.
He summoned a portal. Dark Burst does not allow him to travel extremely long distances. The portal is not Dark Burst.
Location: Damian had no clue about where they were being held. One cell out of a hundred others. Seatus has a connection to Gwen, and that connection persists through timelines because it remains with Seatus. He probably wasn't far from where Gwen was anyway.
Damian sent a tracker spell towards Diablo, and as such knew each place he went to. He noticed strange life signals at a certain place, and so led the portal there.
I explained this already. Read through my app again, and if it isn't clear enough for you, I'll explain it to you tomorrow.
Portal is another power you failed to tell us about? Or is it that Dark Corridors thing?
Oh, and you wrote that Damian sent the tracker towards where he THOUGHT Diablo was. Just saying. CRITISICM.
Oh, and I'm sure Seatus would explain, but Snarbolax in this can teleport. Or something. It's about a half hour to midnight, and I'm tired. So maybe Seatus should explain, O Wise One.
Miles away? Then either Diablo can travel faster than Astraea or Seatus can use extremely long-ranged teleportation.
Lol. Well it has to be far away, and I wasn't aware of each angel's mph rate.
A snarbolax teleporting? How? Does he access some realm? Or does he just simply 'teleport' somehow, with no logical explanation behind it?
Originally, it was via shadow. Seatus was an above average Snarbolax. But his story has progressed. He can teleport now via teleforce. Thin also explained a boss factor. And he was also captured along with Gwen, or so multiple posts have told me. A Great Snarbolax is basically like a warrior priest for god-like beings, first Alice, now the Star Dragon. He's bound to pick up some stray power. Don't get too angry though. He doesn't use it in battle(will on a rare occasion battle) and I'm asking Thin if I can fix the mess I made, and get the story back in order.
He summoned a portal. Dark Burst does not allow him to travel extremely long distances. The portal is not Dark Burst.
No one told me about this portal.
Damian sent a tracker spell towards Diablo, and as such knew each place he went to. He noticed strange life signals at a certain place, and so led the portal there.
No one told me he could cast spells.
I explained this already. Read through my app again, and if it isn't clear enough for you, I'll explain it to you tomorrow.
I said the paragraph had nothing to do with the story, and I was only offering a suggestion.
If anyone even cares enough for a full explanation, go back to RtC and read it. I'm tired of going through Lore and I don't wanna post anymore until Thin gives me the go on redacting my mistake and hopefully everyone will edit or post accordingly to the no-longer Seatus.
I'm off to bed. Good luck with sorting everything out. Oh, and Ultima, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Interesting debate you have there. I'll keep my nose out of it for now, seeing as everyone is being polite, but to respond to Seatus's comment, you can redact stuff whenever you feel like it. I have no rules against it, and I don't think it'll hurt, so I won't stop you. :)
Can we redact what others wrote? Because Ultima just instantaneously showing up sort of ruins any sort of plot/character development whatsoever. Not to mention he's pulled this before in so many other things.
Well, there's still room for some assassins.
Ooh, I just had a thought...if this idea pans out...there could be a lot more events at the Council. >:D
