New beast/stun-themed levels

All of the levels would be a sandy area, with some various gold objects scattered around as well as a few small plants.

Don't have time ATM for all of the levels, but I'm planning to make more later.

Enemies introduced

Sand Tail - A wolver similar in appearance to an Ash Tail, but reskinned to be more sand-colored. Has a high chance to stun the player when it bites.

Alpha Sand Tail - About the same as the Sand Tail, but with the usual Alpha upgrades. Reskinned Alpha Ash Tail.

Special boss weapons based on their boss level mechanics #EndgameEffortSinks

These would replace all item drops in boss stratums, and have very high costs associated with them. They would also be purchasable for one thousand of whatever token they require. Each upgrade would require a large number of crowns. The items aren't intended to be overly powerful, just interesting status symbols that players can strive to achieve and admire.

Snarbolax: A sword that mimics the beast bells
Description: A golden brandish-like sword made from parts of the beast bells in Gloaming wild woods.

Special costs:
2* = 1000 snarbolax tokens

New T3 Boss: Bone Dragon in the Oasis Temple

--Oasis Temple--

Lore: Once one of the great kingdoms that destroyed Almire. After Vanaduke destroyed all who lived there, it has been forgotten and buried deep within the Clockworks. Recently, Fiends have begun making a base there, and there are signs of them using the remains of the residents of the long lost kingdom to create a killing machine. Spiral HQ needs you to get in there and stop them

Appearance: A sandy temple area, relatively intact, unlike the Firestorm Citadel. It has pools of water scattered throughout it.

The next March of the Tortodrones event.

At some point in the close future we should be getting the next March of the Tortodrones event as we've only had 1 so far in 2015 I believe. When the event first started we got the Tortoshield lines (which are by far my favorite shields in the game) and they covered each damage type including normal. the next time we got the event we got the matching Tortofist handguns (kinda strange and don't really work as handguns but they're ok). The 3rd time we got the event we didn't get anything new which i'm not surprised by.

Ideas from Kongregate - Rarity crafting

  • Suggestions

Someone on Kongregate (where I play) posted this, so I decided to put it here too just so the suggestion won't be wasted (I don't think anyone checks the forums there, so the mods would never see suggestions put there). Corrected his grammar, but other than that, it's entirely copy/pasted.

Now look, I know that the last time this game got updated was in 2013, but people still clearly play it and it will be nice to have another update, so here are 2 ideas.

Minimal connection mode

Inspired by the "Offline Spiral Knights" suggestion posted recently, I had an idea for a "minimal connection" mode.

This mode is optimized for people with weaker connections to the game server but still want to enjoy the game. It also opens the door for several other ways to "solve" lag, so to speak.

So what "minimal connection" mode, you are not offline, however your gameplay would be much smoother. For simplicity sake this mode would only be available to knights who play "solo", and it restricts the party.

Monster Ideas. Feedback would be appreciated.

Construct:

Recycler: A large, automated machine designed to dismantle sections of the Clockworks and recover the scrap metal for future use.
Appearance: Resembles a Scuttlebot (retains the rounded head, single eye, and four mechanical legs), but roughly 4 times larger with sloped and armored sides, a pair of mortars on its back, and large spinning sawblades mounted on the front.
Found in any Deconstruction Zone, with usually 1 to 2 Recyclers per DZ.
Attacks:
Sawblade charge: Charges forward 15-20 tiles like a Deadnaught, dealing heavy damage to Knights in the way.

Hero for hire system (contracts)

Submitted by Holy-Nightmare on Thu, 11/12/2015 - 13:58

  • Suggestions

So a lot of endgame players are really looking for something to do with all their time, but OOO doesn't have the man/womanpower to push out playable content at a high rate. So.... is there a compromise? I think I have one.

I would like to introduce a new sort of "mission" called contracts.
Basically your knight would at random be give a contract to accept of decline. Should they choose to accept it they will be give a checklist of tasks to complete.

Tasks such as:

Killing X amount of a certain monster species.
Collecting X amount of a certain material.
Completing a past level.

Fatigue System

Although the mist system was clearly worse than what we have now, it did have some advantages.
1. It forced people to buy energy to progress quickly through the game. This throttles the rate at which people can eat through the rather meager amount of content in SK's main storyline.
2. It encouraged people to not spend so much time playing video games. This inevitably leads to less grinding and slows crown inflation. Ethically, it also encourages people to do other things in their spare time.
3. It offered incentive for people to buy energy with $$$.
