The Elevator takes the Machinauts up, and after a short trip, eases its way into a run-down Clockwork Sector surrounded by a large wall, with a gate leading through said wall in front of you.
A few Gremlins working on the wall notice the elevator come up, and nervously reach for their guns, before easing up when they notice who's on the elevator. "It's... the robots!"
"The Machinauts! They really did wake up!"
"Mendilex wasn't kidding!"
Slowly, Torchbellow Gremlins begin peeling away from what they were doing to see the Machinauts. A small group quickly becomes a crowd as they discuss the small group.
"Ah, you've finally arrived."
An elderly Gremlin sporting an impressive beard hobbles his way out from beyond the gate. "Heh... heh. To think... you would wake up while I'm still alive. Amazing, isn't it?"
"Elder Mendilex, are you sure these are them?" Two heavily armed Torchbellow Gremlins keep their eyes on the newcomers.
"No need to worry, you two." Mendilex smiles at his two guards. "These are our friends. Greave, see to it they are given Alchemy clearance. I have no doubt they'll want to craft some things with anything they've gained on the way here."
"Yessir." One of the guards walks toward an Alchemy Machine, and begins pressing a few buttons.
"Gaunt, go find the merchants. Tell them the Machinauts are here."
"Understood, sir." The other guard walks into the city.
The first guard, Greave (named for the term for shin armor, no relation to a certain infamous species of fiend), hands Mendilex a set of cards. "Their access cards. These can be used at any Alchemy Machine within the city."
"Thank you, Greave. Now... I should introduce myself properly. I am Elder Mendilex, the elected mayor of the Torchbellow City. And you are Machinauts, I presume?"

Mendilex nods at Mark30-Longshot, smiles as he faces SEE-4. "Ah. You're a Machinaut, for sure... a scientific mind, too. Good. These are troubled times..." Mendilex sniffs the samples. "Hmm. Smells like magic... must have been one of those Squishy Wizards. Ah, yes, lab equipment... Greave, did we get any lab equipment?"
"The Graingears brought us some last week along with the rototillers." Greave is still watching each Machinaut, trusting, but still double-checking. Gaunt is returning as well.
"Ah, good. SEE unit, we shall provide you with lab equipment... as soon as we sort it out from the farm equipment. I'm afraid things get done rather slowly around here... most young people don't work nearly as hard as I did in my day. Not to say all of them don't..." Mendilex raises an eyebrow. "Speaking of that. Did you happen to see a young Gremlin by the name of Nalki? She ran off to check out the Machinaut Complex after picking up the signal."

((I'm changing around the way swords' combo attacks calculate the number of hits. It goes like this:
First, (User Reflexes + Weapon Combo Speed + AS Modifiers + 1d4 roll - Foe's Reflexes - Combo Length)/2 = Base Sum.
For each full combo, the remaining number of attacks is decreased by 1 plus the combo length over 1.
So if D-07 attacks a 5-reflex target with his Heavy Hatchet, and rolls 2 on the d4, he'll get a Base Sum of 4.5, which rounds up to 5. This means he'll use a full combo, then lose 2 attacks due to the combo finishing, and get a third attack after that for a total of 3 hits.
This should bring the weapons up to par with each other; Bombs use the old formula, but they generally hit multiple enemies, meaning they can get a lot of hits in the first place.))

(I feel like as if no one in the team is willing to work with me, I know KV-103 is a jerk, but the Fallen King knows that only by working together, they can get the job done, even if that means he has to be a jerk from time to time. If no one is willing to help, then I think I would like to quit the game.)
