Have a suggestion for Spiral Knights? We would like to hear it.

Chat color

I'd like to have messages written by users to be displayed in a different color, if possible.
Since they can get easily lost among the loot notifications.

Spears

I think spears would be a great addition to the game. They would add a little more weapon variety and change up combat in your party. Maybe make them available to the player for the first time at Haven to contribute to that feeling of being in some new and unfamiliar yet exciting place when you visit the Bazaar.

Mac compatibility?

Just wondering if it's possible, 'cause it'll mean more people would be able to play SK and allow the ones who are already able to play more chances to play it on the go when we're surrounded by nothing but Macs

Subscriptions

Forgive me for not being quite familiar enough with everything yet to know if this suggestion is DOA.

Will there be subscriptions?

Are the problems with a hybrid Y!PP ocean the same here too? Unlike Y!PP it seems big items here get binded to you, preventing people from evading doubloon (energy?) fees by having subscribers buy stuff for them.

Don't lock items immediately

Just an idea I'd like to throw out. Currently an item is locked to you the moment you put it on. What if instead, it was locked the moment you did anything that could increase its heat? e.g. entering a gate, or collecting a dividend. These actions would carry a warning/confirmation dialog.

Pro: You can try on that armour you just bought, decide you completely hate the look, and still trade it with a friend before you actually use it.

Con: May be a little more confusing than the nicely straightforward current system.

Scaling Chests and Energy costs for 'small' levels.

Currently it seems like drops in chests are based upon their depth, but allow for all items that can be dropped at all earlier depths as well.

With heat and coins you seem to get an amount appropriate to the depth.

Health max seems to allow for the 3-packs at a certain threshold.

Restrict costume slots to level 10 armor?

It would be a big flashy reward for maxing out armor, something that feels missing at the moment. It also feels intuitive to me. If you want the right to have armor represent your avatar, you have to really make it yours.

Let's talk about bombs

Bombs have me stumped. Bombs are different than swords and handguns, because you can charge them at level 1. You have to charge them at level 1. If you take any damage from anything, you have to start charging again. Then, you have to place them. Then, you have to wait for the time on the bomb to count down. Then it blows up. Meanwhile, whatever you were trying to blown up has either run away or eaten you.

I can accept that getting to do damage comes with skill, but having to charge a level 1 weapon when you actually *can't* charge hand guns or swords is not intuitive.

Forum Structure and Problems

Submitted by LoneStar on Fri, 10/08/2010 - 02:51

I prefer a structure that either doesn't have a required subject line to every reply, or one that by default uses the initial subject line unless the replier decides to alter it.

The way that it is defaulting now, using the first several words of the response, is redundant and awkward.
