10 things you didn't know about Spiral Knights

where do the railroad tracks in the arcade lead to???
sorry for all the post but im posting as i find out more and the 2 giant machines next to the haven entrance
last one b4 i get off for now
the tvs above the ah
I think I got it! Its so simple and we do see it EVERY DAY (In SK) I wont tell you cause its fun to find :)
@Leeroy-Jenkins
Thread was posted long before Garrison appeared.
To Moorcroft Manor.
Thread was posted long before haven entrance was changed and those things appeared.
No.
~~~
It'd just be really helpful to know if the 10th secret is in the CW, Haven, or what. Narrow it down a bit.
You know you can just click edit instead of making 3 different posts, right?
Number 10 is quite obvious. The undead family, mainly the Zombies, Are undead, so something died to create them. What died? That must mean that their was a another human species. What happened to them?
It's quite obvious when you put your mind to it. ALSO! The Ironmight Plate Shield has a crown symbol on the front. Was it something to do with stragners? Or something more sinister, like a mercaneary group?
Here's 10 things I instantly knew about SK during playthrough:
1. The Forge is a bad thing.
2. The Forge is a very bad thing.
3. The Forge is a very very bad thing.
4. The Forge is a very very very bad thing.
5. The Forge is a very very very very bad thing.
6. The Forge is a very very very very very bad thing.
7. The Forge is a very very very very very very bad thing.
8. The Forge is a very very very very very very very bad thing.
9. The Forge is a very very very very very very very very bad thing.
10. The Forge is a very very very very very very very very very bad thing.
Also, where does the light deep in the CLockworks come from? Is it a giant light, or cracks in the surface? Is the crust of the planet coated in huge lights, which light up the interior?
perhaps it has something to do with the fountain? idk ive been running around looking for the answer.
I am also curious to the reason for the railroad in moorcraft, (i use to be curious of the ritual area but that was answered with the kat event)
FFS, Cirno, I despise the change in the shard bomb line but you don't see me *****ing about it in EVERY SINGLE POST.
@Maeko
Yes you do, you meanie :(
(P.S. Forge really bad)
If someone already said this or im wrong then sorry but, what about those floors where its like a coliseum and you fight through multiple waves of enemies, each arena giving you a chance to go down or fight on to get greater prizes. Im pretty sure in those floors that it says that the prizes are given by the king of that area, does that mean there could be more kingdoms in the clockworks and what about krogmo, where are his peeps.....
maybe it has something to do with the pipes in haven? you know... the ones that sprawl across the ground in every section of haven, and seems to come out of the arcade? maybe this is a pipe from where the strangers mine their energy, and it powers haven.
It was confirmed by Nick earlier on in the thread.
Nowhere in that thread does it say anything to do with this one, and I think Nick said that, while it was a good guess, that wasn't Number Ten.
/r Drestroy: Could you PM what you believe is No. 10 to me? I'm not inclined to tell anyone, that's your job.
Cirno, the new Killerot.
*Only few deserves this title, Cirno, be proud.*
@Dragneel
I know exactly who Killerot is. -.-
Sadly, I can't counter this argument because I started with a rather silly (but true) point in the first place.
@Krakob
her*
Actually, I do it without thinking. Which I then suppose multiplies that.
Is it something in the ready room cause if you log on you dont have to go to have but you do have to go to the ready room. Maybe something on those screens
ready room wasn't there at the time this topic was created. please read previous posts ty.
#10 is most likely something to do with the Skylark. As in the fact that no-one has ever asked what it actually looks like, or if we actually see it when we play, but are unaware.
Menders are using Owl-magic(?). Because their abilities are similar to magic of Seraphynxes, what is basically Owl-magic.
Nick already confirmed what the 10th was... In fact, someone linked to Nick's comment a few posts up, and the explanatory picture. Here's the link to the comment that linked to Nick's response, in this very thread! In the background of the Clockwork Tunnels, you can see a series of domes, imbedded into massive gears, and being moved by cranes. Here's an old screenshot when I first noticed this myself.
But I feel like adding to this thread! Here are a few more things you may not know about Spiral Knights!
- In this screenshot, the crane carrying the levels around have windows, which implies that there are people (most likely gremlins) operating the crane, and controlling the Clockworks.
- With some luck, you can get 7 tokens from a Shadow Lair boss kill. Some say you can even get 8!
- Snowballs can hit NPCs and turn them into snowmen. You can also hit Snipes with snowballs, but they just block the shots, instead of becoming snowmen.
- You can shield with the crafting menu or your profile screen up. While shielding, you can move, without closing the window.
- Basil carries around a green Treasure box
- There is a non-functioning elevator at the Clockwork terminals, behind Basil.
street lamps changing intensity when guns r fired near them?
i had 1 more, that i forgot the last time i wanted to guess and havent remembered since xD
also...rubbish
better quote nick instead of smart butts
Nick already confirmed what the 10th was...
Wasn't one of the "secrets" basically that the characters play in biomes that sit on rotating trays that cranes pick up and move? It's the animation of the log-in screen.
yes grant, they said that 5 posts ago and denied that 2 posts ago. from my post.
@Grantgalitz, Traevelliath and probably others
Geez, people, please try to read at least several recent posts before posting.
As Gravelord-Caste has mentioned several times: The fact about clockworks posted by Pixeljoy is not #10
Actually I always though it's a common knowledge but maybe it's because those domes were visible on Gate Map during beta.
Anyway, please read this Nick's post before you post misleading and untrue information that #10 is already discovered.
It isn't.
Apparently I skim too much. Derp.
..that's it I am gonna research the game, and learn everything till I get thus figured out... good thing I got me plenty if time!
Obviously some shrubberies look like Lumbers. Lumbers are much bigger than Gremlins.
...I don't know. I thought of a certain resemblance that MIGHT be it, but it's a huge spoiler for Cave Story's finale.
As Nick says (look above for link) its nothing like a monster shaped bush, its gonna be something kinda big =P
Maybe it's not the #10, but gremlins used to be sometimes in wolver den: you can see their tools in small "wooded" zones, but the trees are all cut off, possibly to build those Lumbers that you can easily encounter in those zones..
Actually this is common knowledge...
- With some luck, you can get 7 tokens from a Shadow Lair boss kill. Some say you can even get 8!
If you can do Ice Queen, you are automatically a hacker.
@Cirno: Three words. Ash of Agni. It does extra damage to Ice Cubes, and makes their attacks much weaker.
I've actually done an Ice Queen Shadow Lair. While it isn't exactly easy (the camouflaged Polyp spines are murder), it's probably one of the easier Shadow Lairs. Especially in comparison to Ironclaw Munitions Factory!
Cirno's just sad that her kind is so easily beaten: mid-level is pitiful even on loony, and Whiterock is not any better.
Don't worry Cirnothebaka, you're still my beloved tomboyish daughter. (This is the part where I'd put a link a song, but a random cartoon character from some dumb card game kinda possessed it.)
It's probably not number 10, but here's a thought:
Gremlins and Beasts are living creatures that resist Elemental Attacks, while Constructs and Undead, being parodies and/or mockeries of the living are weak against it.
Gremlins have the exact opposite resistances as Undead (Inflicts and resists Elemental, weak to Shadow, and Vice-versa). The Grems just so happen to be an intelligent race with a civilization: the Undead had one.
On that same note, and this is a very long shot, Fiends and Slimes are the same (Pierce, Pierce, Shadow and Vice-versa), and are probably both creatures that are born/created from an amorphous origin. Trojans, even if they are created from knights, still come under the "amorphous origin" label, even if partially.
In case you're wondering, my line of thought's to do with the types. It could be a coincidence, but it's a fair place to try. I can't think of anything else along these lines, though.
@Hex
*hugs you even though you put me on ignore list and kinda can't see this*
I've got you on hide, so I have pre-warning when I'm going to read likely forge-related post.
If you really wanna try to figure this out on ur own, i can give u these hints. I for one, do runs a lot now, but before i dint. MEANING its not in any runs. and if we all see it, it needs to be something the newbies can see to. But nick said see, not seen. so its nothing from rescue camp. Not everyone is in a guild, so it NEEDS to be somewhere looking for a mission, or mail social stuff like that. But i also think it could be directly from logging on or before that.
If its something you see everyday its obviously on the log in screen, that hasn't changed since 2011 while ready room, and haven are newer
Simply, Log In Screen
1. What are those lights floating around
2. Cool large Clockwork pillars....
3. Log in!
4. Log out!
5. Darkness
There are more snipes in haven.... and its possible that snipes and sprites could be related due to their first appearance in the lab, the first time u talk to the person in the lab, and the appearance of a snipe...
Is it that hard for u to see that it isnt a secret if its odviously something that dint change over 2 years. if something secret happened i think someone would see it by now. since so many ppl know it as it is.
Well other than the fact that i see the statues that look like Gun Puppys everywhere, including haven, but i cant seem to place any sort of significance on them other than why do they resemble Gun Puppys? Or is it the other way around?
Is this #10 a reference of the lamps in game to Castlevania Lamps where you break them for health and coins? I dunno, I went through each page ctrl+f'd "castle" to no avail, so it might be this?
No clues other than the fact that it's seen by some amount of players every day .-.
