Greetings fellow knights!
If you do not know what a winmillion is, it can probably be described as one of the most awesome 4* swords out there. Not only does it look cool, but its attack sequence is different from all other swords of its time. Unfortunately, there is no 5* version of the sword. It will forever remain a little lonely sword forever and nobody will ever use it. Then, BANG! Grey Havens took control over OOO promising changes and new content. (they have kept their promises) HOWEVER, the poor, lonely, little winmillion is looking at them saying, "What about me?" But apparently, either the little winmillion did not speak loud enough, or the gamemasters were preoccupied with either setting off purple fireworks, or whacking knights with a crowbar. Either way, this needs to be addressed in a proper way. There have been lots of posts just saying "MAKE A 5* WINMILLION PPLLLLLEEAASSEE OHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASE?!??!?!" However, this post is going to be different. This is how it is going to go:

If you feel like there needs to be a 5* winmillion sword, reply with a "+1". You may also add why you believe so.

If you feel like there DOES NOT need to be a 5* winmillion sword, reply with a "-1" You may also add why you believe so.

I feel like this is the best way to get recognition from Grey Havens. I'm hoping that there will be page after page of +1's, but I have no idea really. It's all up to you. (NO PRESSURE) Oh, and I feel like I should address this: This post is not slamming Grey Havens for not making a 5* version. I realize they have been busy. (both with what I have listed above, and new content)

I want everyone who reads this to put something down!

Thankie you <3
~Gus

+1 although most likely they've already made the decision to do it or not a while ago and even though there's a suggestion forum, the impression I get is they don't really like players telling them what to do.

Imagine if the 5 star version's charge attack shot out a projectyle like graviton bomb. So it sucks enemies close while traveling in a straight line. Just an imagination teaser~

@Jazz

Took the words right out of my head~ (well, a shared idea of many variations of 5* Windmillions, really)-

Black Hole / Void (Shadow / Elemental):
Some maniac decided to mix the technology of a Vortex bomb with the Windmillion, creating this unstable weapon. The creator has yet to be apprehended, since reports of the creator have since gone missing, alongside the building they stayed in. Projectiles from this destructive weapon implode after a certain distance, and if charged enough, can draw in enemies before imploding in itself.

Attributes:
Normal swings cause projectiles to fly out, before imploding after a certain distance.
Charged swings cause a projectile to fly out, drawing all foes in its path along with it. After a certain distance, the projectile implodes on itself.

(I'm still a firm believer that it was meant to be called a Windmillion based on the file :v)

It's essentially the gunblade of the game, and as such it truly deserves a 5* version.

Yeah definitely, it would make an interesting sword style more playable and a worthwhile investment. It is a great opportunity for Grey Haven to make their stamp on the game for such a niche sword as it is at the moment.

Honestly, I don't mind wasting a few minutes of my time for something that may be completely trivial in the end.

I mean, once you've reached the end-game of Spiral Knights, you kinda have a pretty amount of time to kill anyway.

Yeah this could definitely work! I mean, I get that GH is probably busy with something more important (we don't mean to seem pushy or ungrateful guys, you're doing so well XD), but a 5* winmillion could present some new ideas. +1 from me!

I mean, I like the Winmillion but...

(Isn't this a necropost? Whatever, I'll just put my opinion down since the last post was already recent)
Considering that 5* versions tend to simply be slightly enhanced versions of 4* versions, being either direct upgrades or semi-sidegrades, gaining stats but trading away an attribute, one has to consider that the current Winmillion, regardless of an upgrade will still be a bad sword.

Consider:
*There is not a weapon in the game that has gained a drastic change at its 4* variation (or any, for that matter), and then gained another at 5*. Generally, that sort of thing just doesn't happen. That's to say, Winmillion's upgrade will probably just straight up shoot bullets. Anything different will probably branch at the Arc Razor.
*Additionally, Winmillion is slightly faster than a Brandish, and possesses roughly the same attack style, but it has a damage table comparable to a Cutter-type sword of the same level, with more difficulty in landing the 'second hit'.
*The charge attack on Winmillion seems very unfinished or otherwise buggy. The whole attack is slower than the sword itself, the 'strike' has less range than a normal attack, and the projectile tends to knock enemies towards you, making function essentially as a neutral damage brandish charge that is inferior in every way other than it can cross gaps.

If you ask me, a much better solution would be to first buff all Spur line swords, then increase their star level and adjust their stats accordingly. There's literally no way to complain about this, other than I suppose "now I have to get more stuff to upgrade, what will I do with these (star level) orbs I was going to use", when you can consider that materials are fairly easy to gain, and if you go to the right spot, orbs as well. Anyway, players with these items can be given compensation if deemed necessary (UV tickets presumably).

From there, the Arc Razor can gain other variants that branch to 5* that are mechanically unique but share a similar premise with Winmillion (if such a thing is desired). It also means that Winmillion would become one of the 5* upgrades worth making since it gains the ability to shoot a projectile with every attack. (In terms of buffing, really only the damage values need an increase. The sword already offers slightly different way to play the game, allowing you to exploit the shielding of Mechaknights to perfectly set up an attack combo to knock them down, move gremlins hiding in corners directly into the reach of your blade, etc)

The Winmillion is the ULTIMATE noob trap: you get this cool sword only to find out WHOOPS! You can't get past HoH because there's no 5* variant! Time to grind for 3 1/2 years to get a calibur or something up to 5*!
Make 5* Winmillion happen.
Pretty sure Fangel pointed out one time that the Winmillion damage table is the same as the Cutter's, so the damage is pretty much set in stone: just need to model it, give it a name and a description (maybe an upgraded charge like alchemers: fires 3 projectiles in spread-shot maybe?)
MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Prepare snoot for boop

I know I'm the 19191&1729th person to talk about 5* Windmillion, but here's my personal thoughts:

There are three 5* choices.
- There is a sun-themed version that looks like the golden arm around Cradle, which inflicts Stun.
- There is a moon-themed version that looks like a dark bluish arm of Cradle, which inflicts Sleep.
- There is a non-status version that looks like a broken clock needle.

I'd like to stray away from having the status variants have specialized damage, since Normal is the Spur line's gimmick. I don't know how they'd be balanced to make the non-status version not be useless. Perhaps the non-status could fire more/different projectiles but keep the damage relatively the same across the three? Maybe tone down the Stun one's damage just a wee bit, and the Sleep one a wee bit more because Sleep is powerful. I don't wanna make a CIV out of anything.

All I know is I want a 5* Windmillion, and I want a Sleep sword. And a clock needle.

Not sure on possible names. I'm loath to throw out name suggestions lest I sound edgy and childish.

eh

"I'd like to stray away from having the status variants have specialized damage, since Normal is the Spur line's gimmick."
"I don't wanna make a CIV out of anything."

Pick one.

But in all seriousness, I would love to see a 5* winmillion that fires two mixmaster charge bullets that spread out and come back on charge, and perhaps the single attacks could fire 1 winmillion projectile per hit and 3 on the final one.

I would also absolutely love a piercing and shadow variant. Spurs and cutters both work extraordinarily well on pierce weak enemies, and the spur in particular has some interesting combat mechanics in regards to shadow weak monsters. I'd love to see pure piercing/shadow variants at 5*, sort of like an inverse iron slug.

This is a waste of time. Do we really need another worthless 5* upgrade to further pollute the pool of 'balanced' weapons we can craft? If Amputator taught me anything is that GH is just as afraid of changing the game balance as talking to us.

Maybe we should test the water with some elemental/pierce/dark winmillion first, you know, like what OOO did to blaster line?

Hello I am here again

I don't really understand why everyone is screaming for a 5* Winmillion. It wouldn't offer much, other than possibly tradeoffs and slightly increased stats. Even if you make an upgrade it won't solve anything about the Winmillion, other than that it caps at four stars. After all:

1. Five Star versions are usually only slightly enhanced over Four Stars
2. Spur-type swords have several issues that make them non-optimal choices (I believe many people have made this clear)
3. There's basically no reason that anyone would go through the entire game up to HoH for Five Star, and only have one weapon anywhere near Five Stars. If nothing else, the game already gives you free items and recipes for the "Cobalt" gear (Calibur, Blaster, Blast Bomb, Cobalt Armour), so while having Winmillion as your only sword might be difficult to cope with, it's not as terrible a noob trap as Breaker Amour is, since Winmillion is still viable in endgame (even if most people would tell you your best option for it would be to get a better sword)

If Grey Havens could (for some inexplicable reason) only perform one action on all Spur-line swords, I would rather have them buff/fix the already existing swords rather than make new upgrades with the same issues.

^ Came here to say this

If winmillion is bad, what makes you think a normal 5* upgrade would make it worthwhile? Of all 5* swords available, their 4* versions are perfectly good and useful. I never had the rads to upgrade my Blizzbrand and I - honestly - never thought "man, this blade should be better".
Thats it. If the 4* version isnt good, 5* wont be either, unless they buff it up to eleven (which I think I would actually like to see). Just like the new Cautery blades- Not that I dont like their existence, its a great flavor piece that rewards already seasoned players and I obtained it myself, but its end result is so bad I would rather see Winmillion remain as the mythical short end of the Spur line rather than a shitty sword.

Its funny that this topic rose after Sleep's reintroduction to the game, because I once thought of a 5* Spur concept I am fond of that involves the stat. It would be called Fractal, of which charge attack would substantially increase the normal charge swing by creating a wide fractal in front of it that would be able to induce sleep.

it shoots out winmillions int it's basic 3 attack combo

Its charge attack that it shoots out 3 win millions in a spread, then after a slight delay the winmillions start shooting out disk projectiles
